The months following the Maleficent Incident changed Auradon for the perceived better. The VK's had come a long way from their bad ways. Evie, who used to glance at herself in the mirror every chance she got, now helped others see the beauty in themselves and offered to make outfits for everyone. Jay had thrown himself into sports, and took up the leadership of the Swords and Shields team after Ben got swamped with work. Carlos became a tech wiz, and everyone came to him for everything tech related. Mal, on the other hand, seemed to be struggling with the whole 'being good' thing. She could handle it at first, believe me, she could, she was on top of things, getting her homework done, heading to events with Ben and doing all things required of her as the girlfriend of the King. However…one day, that all changed.
It was late at night, Evie and Mal had been asleep for a while, the blue and purple haired girls resting soundly in their beds. They left the window cracked open, it was a hot summer's day, and the sweltering Auradon heat was getting to them. This, it turns out, would lead to their downfall. A teal smoke invaded their bedroom, swirling up and solidifying into the form of one white-haired Princess. Sophia's teal eyes shone in the darkness, her hand grasping a silver trident. "I told you to you, Mal." Sophia breathed. "I told you that my time would soon come. I'm sick of waiting for you to make the first move, little miss perfect." Sophia ran the fork of the trident over Mal, both shining teal. "But, you're taking too long, I can't wait any longer…my family must finally be reunited."
