You're laying in a patch of grass afar from the campfire, between Felix, Jeff, and Mikaela. The group of explorers haven't come back from the forest yet and the hubbub generated by all the arguments and tensions had come to an end a while ago.

You're relaxed from chilling with them and chatting about everything but something is odd. You can't help feeling oppressed a little. You've been feeling like this for almost ten minutes without a reason and it's growing stronger now. This oppression seems familiar, somehow, but you can't explain where or when you got it from.

"Ah, shit... here we go again."

You sit up, along with your friends, to see what's happening.

Ace got the mark and will be transported to a trial soon. You start to watch around and see Vittorio being marked too. A bit later, Cheryl gets the third mark and it takes a few seconds for you to be selected as the fourth.

While everybody is wishing all of you good luck, you freak out at the idea of a fifth one getting tagged for the match.

Gladly, it didn't happen and you begin to sink in the fog.

As soon as you touch the ground, the cold bites your skin. Ormond. Not that bad of a map.
It seems like you've spawned into the killer shack this time. Through the door, you see Ace, standing in the middle of an empty area. Not even a tree or a rock to hide behind.

You hear a chime, somewhere far from you. A chime that sounded... sharp. Ace turns around and waves at you just before a hatchet hit his arm, staining the snow in red for the first time.
The man tries to muffle his pain through his teeth while running away from your location.

The Huntress had been chosen for this trial.

Her lullaby softly breaks the silence as she follows the red stains to your mate; making the metal of her hatchets echoes in the mountains.

While she is away, you rush into the main building and join Cheryl on the generator inside. Doing this specific gen early is important as it will help to avoid a three-gen situation.
Ace must have learned his lessons well since you managed to finish your generator and he is still running in a corner of the map. But he finally got downed a bit after, letting his broken voice resonates in the whole place.
Once the giant woman leaves the area, you unhook your mate and start healing him, following the instruction you've been given at the campfire.
As they told you, you simply try to push the edges of the wound back together as if you were trying to close it until the flesh starts to melt and heal.

...

"Not all of us are nurses or docs. And none of us could be able to survive such horrible injuries. This is why the entity 'helps' us a bit. During a trial, we all benefit from a faster recovery. But there are conditions. Wounds won't heal by themselves, even with the entity's power. That's why we need someone else or a med kit to heal ourselves. We need to close the injury's gap for the regeneration process to start."

"But what about the ones that can heal themselves without a medkit?"

"Those actually got some medical knowledge, which helps a lot."

"Can we learn from them?"

"If you want and if you can understand it. For now, just try to find someone to heal you, and don't try anything more than what we explained."

...

For now, everything goes well. But as you expected, the entity tried to sabotage you as it does on generators. Some tiny claws appear on your friend's back and try to re-open the cut.
This time, you are not getting tricked and act quickly to make those claws disappear.
You are surely getting the hang of those 'mechanics' and you're doing very few amount of mistakes now.

After you're done with Ace's back, you hear another male voice raise in the storm. Vittorio got down too. You tell Ace to start working on the generator in the shack while you go for the rescue. The man nods and runs to the opposite corner of the map.

Meanwhile, Vittorio screams a second time as the hook pierces his flesh. Seems to be around the main building, behind the checkroom. On the way, you see Cheryl being chased. Huntress is a real threat and if she gets her before another gen pop, she will start to gain some advantages.
For now, the blond girl seems to handle the chase well around the snowplow and the killer seems too busy aiming at her to notice that you healing your friend nearby.

The wound is half closed when you get overtaken by another bunch of entity claws pinning deep in his skin. Things were going too fast and your mate grunt and totter from the pain.

You immediately look behind you, toward the snowplow, and see that Cheryl isn't here anymore.

But SHE is. And SHE is watching you now.

"Vittorio, run !"

You push his back to make him leave faster, get up, and... stands there.

You could have run too. Run to that palette inside the checkroom. Or follow Vittorio for a bit and see who she will focus on. Even just staying here, and preparing to dodge a hatchet would have been more productive.

But instead, against all odds, you are just standing there. Giving her a glance of defiance, showing confidence in your move. You don't really know why you decided to do this. Your first thought was to distract the killer from Vittorio so he won't be tunneled but why just provoke her? Are you being vain and arrogant or do you have a plan that even you don't know about?

Or is the entity possessing you again?

You remain here, stoic and unphased by the threat coming to you.

The huntress, at first, is running at you. But the closer she gets, the slower she goes; closing the last meter with a hesitant step.
She is now about twenty centimeters apart from you, forcing you to rise your head to keep eye contact. You are now fully understanding how tall she is and how much of a dangerous predator she can be. The little of her skin that is revealed shows all the muscles she had built over the years. Not the type of muscles you would admire or envy but more the ones you'd fear to feel the strength... personally.

Both of you keep staring at each other in silence.

Silence.

She is silent.

She is not singing her lullaby anymore. Even her loud breath is now muted to a quiet blow.

But your surrounding isn't silent at all. Besides the storm, something else is creeping up on you. Growing in intensity and getting louder and louder in your ears. If you'd never played Dead By Daylight before, this sound would have been completely new to you. Sadly, you know what those odds whispers, and laments are.

The entity is talking. Is it shouting in the mountains of Ormond? Or maybe interfering between you and the Huntress? Or are you the only one to capture this horrifying message?

You don't think you'll ever know the answer to those questions, but at least you know why you were acting a bit... reckless. This is not you anymore. Not entirely.

The Huntress is now moving back slowly. One step, two steps, three steps... she makes a total of six steps backward and stops. Keeping her eyes on you. You can feel her discomfort around you. You're not sure if she is afraid of the entity inside of you but she is surely not liking it.

In the corner of your eyes, you see Ace, watching the whole scene with a mix of amazement and confusion. You really hope that you still look human so your double identity isn't uncovered.

The killer just spotted him too and starts rising a hatchet in his direction. You don't want him to get hurt again and fight against the entity to reclaim your body. You manage to make three steps toward the masked woman, which startled her and got her attention back to you. You still got the entity aura with you, you can feel it. And you're going to abuse that power against her so she will not harm anyone else and your friends can finish repairing the generators.

Meanwhile, three gens had popped and the last one should be nearly half done. Ace is still watching you from behind a tree, definitely too curious for his own good. Huntress hasn't down her hatchet yet, keeping an eye on both you and Ace.

You fight back the entity again and make two more steps, which makes the tall woman panic and throw her hatchet at your left thigh. The pain wakes you up and you feel more in control against the eldritch creature.

You should have run away but you felt angry. Worse than angry, you were mad, completely enraged by this situation that lasted for too long. You use all your anger to take the hatchet from your flesh and rush on the Huntress, ready to strike.

This is not the entity anymore. This is you. And this is even more scary to see how much violence you could have in your soul when you get in a dire situation.

Huntress hasn't seen this coming and you hit her in the ribs, where her harness isn't protecting her anymore. She grunts heavily when her own blade sinks deeply between her bones but promptly regains her composure and pushes you back fiercely, making you fall on the floor.

Last gen pops.

"Ace ! Fucking run you jackass !"

The man jolts, realizing that it is time to leave for him. Listening to you, he jogs for one of the gates while you are struggling with the killer.

The woman jumps on you, using her whole body to pin yours to the ground. She can't move her axe from that close and try to punch and claw your face instead. You try to protect yourself with the small hatchet and manage to hit her in the shoulder at the same time.
But the exhaustion and her weight on your torso are slowly making you lose all energy to fight and when you were the most vulnerable, she stands up and slam her axe into your skull.

Your death was too fast for you to feel anything. You sink back into the void, waiting to spawn at the campfire.

You don't know how you will explain all of this to the others.
