Chapter 1: Rebirth Pt 1
After the aftermath of the battle with Atom Smasher. Rebecca is clinging to life as her cybernetics are barely keeping her alive despite part of her brain coming out of her skull along with her arm, leg, and part of her rib exposed.
"Fuck," Rebecca said as everything was dead quiet with the battle over. "David, I am so sorry," she said to close her remaining eye to let death come to her. Then bright shine on her body to see an AV of a Trauma Team squad coming to pick her up.
"Damn, seriously. Am I dreaming?" she asked as a squad leader went up to her body to scan her body.
"No, you are not dreaming. You are quite lucky, our client asked us to pay for your extraction," the squad leader said.
"Lucky indeed, who is my savior?" she asked.
"That's above my pay grade. You can speak with him when he is ready," he said as the team brought out a cryo crate to place her inside keeping her alive. "Time to get going," the squad leader said as Rebecca was deep in cold sleep to arrive at the hospital to be worked on for a special client interested in her survival.
"Perfectly intact. how long will it take to fix her?" he asked as he was paying all the fees for this one.
"What you included. It will take a week to rebuild her," the squad leader said.
"Excellent, time to make my new star," the man said as a week passed with Rebecca in a hospital bed to woke up to see her body has fully recovered with some changes.
"So, doc, how am I doing?" she asked as she still believed she was alive right now.
"Perfect, we managed to do some medical tests and your vitals are doing pretty well. We replace certain parts and model them via your request," the doctor said as Rebecca could see her head was intact like nothing had happened with cybernetics and artificial organs filling in the gaps.
Her left arm and leg were replaced with new cybernetic limbs with synthetic skin covering them. Her long light green hair is intact and brushes her hands through her hair.
"Thanks, doc, you guys were lifesavers," Rebecca feeling grateful.
"Thank you but our client is the one you should be thanking. He is ready to see you now," the doctor said.
"So, this guy paid the bills huh?" she thought as the doors slid open to reveal a tall man in a red suit and greasy hair.
"Well, well, well. My new star is looking like a lovely snack. Seems like you are in good spirits," the man in the red suit said.
"Yeah after the whole getting smashed part," Rebecca said as she was curious about this guy. "Who the fuck are you sir?" she asked.
"Well, my foulmouthed spitfire. I am Bismarck the lovely owner of America's most beloved blood sport. DreadZone," Bismarck said as Rebecca's eyes lit up with excitement.
"Oh really, I love that show," Rebecca has a spark of joy for she always remembers to catch the live streams of the different gladiators fighting to the death to gain fame and glory in the combat zones.
"A fan indeed. Well, I didn't put you back together for charity. I need good fighters to keep my crowds entertained and I have seen your performance in the past. Color me impressed and I got you to join my game show," Bismarck said.
"So, there is a catch to this?" she questioned as she sounded a bit bitter about this.
"Well, you have nowhere else to go my dear. You will have a roof over your head, food, and medical attention. Keep my fans happy and we will be making big eddies. Once you work off my debt to you, you will earn your freedom," Bismarck said.
"Like I have a choice. Besides killing some assholes will keep my mind busy," Rebecca said as remembering the past is too painful. She wants to move forward and not waste this chance.
"Great, you made the right choice," Bismarck puts a collar around her neck.
'What is this?" she asked.
"It's a security device. Keeping my employers in check. You know the rules of DreadZone. This collar can't be removed for anything. If you were to go into a restricted area, you would be given a painful shock. Observe," Bismarck pulls out a tablet to show her a video of two of his employees working in a warehouse.
"Fuck, I hate my job," one of the workers said as his collar came on and gave him a terrible shock making him fall onto the floor. His friend looks on in distress at this.
"If any contestant is becoming uncooperative or worse boring. Your collar will be detonated at any time," Bismarck said as the other friend looked worried getting his head and neck vaporized to drop to the floor as a headless corpse. "I hope you enjoy the show and become my new star, Rebecca," Bismarck gives a nasty smile as Rebecca sighs and goes with him to become his star.
Within the week deep within the underground on the outskirts of Night City. There is a space around where millions of viewers are watching their live screens. "Welcome everyone, it's time for DreadZone and I am your wonderous host Bismarck. I am here personally to greet you to one of their new stars. She is quite the little spitfire and she is here to prove herself to gain back her freedom. Say hello little Rebecca," Bismarck said as Rebecca came up from the lift.
"Yo, everyone. I hope you like me because I am going to kick a lot of ass night," Rebecca hyping up the crowd at home.
"Very feisty one we got here guys. You all know the rules. Within these rooms, we have 20 combatants here. The last one standing wins, good luck," Bismarck said as Rebecca wields her Lexington machine pistol to cock the gun.
"Gee, I miss Guts. Rip these poor fuckers apart. Well, here we go," she thought as she rushed in to see a woman trying to shoot her. She ducks under the barrage of bullets to fire a burst into the woman's chest. She grabs her head with her new arm and snaps it easily killing her.
"Oh, little Rebecca made her first kill. How do you feel about it?" Bismarck asked Rebecca with a cute yet vicious smile feeling that old rush of death and murder.
"It feels like winning," Rebecca said as she went in hyper-focused on killing as many people as possible. She sees another one who is shooting at her but she jumps up to make a double jump with her new legs to land on top of the man. She uses her strong legs to break his neck to see a third person looking confused.
"My bad, I was busy with this. He is all yours," Rebecca tosses his corpse into the woman to put rounds into her head and chest.
She sees two people noticing this and teaming up trying to kill her. She uses her small size and new speed via cybernetics to bounce off the walls to pick off the contestants with full fire into their bodies.
"Well, Rebecca is getting in the zone folks. Five fighters are already dead," Bismarck is pleased with this as the crowds on TV are going wild for the cute and bloody thirsty cyborg Rebecca.
"I got more where that came from," she said as she activated her new Gorilla Arms to swiftly strike her palm into the chest of a fighter to send him flying with her new super strength to see him dent the wall he crashed into this breaking his back killing him instantly.
She grabs a crate and tosses it at another contestant. The flying projectile strikes the woman's head breaking her neck and falling lifelessly on the floor. She leaps away from a barrage of bullets to kick off the wall to roll onto the floor to grab a fallen Carnage shotgun. She fires a four-gauge buckshot which turns the combatant into red mist.
She looks at the shotgun to miss her old shotgun Guts. "Gee, it's not the same," she thought as she blasted another guy's head off with blood splattering onto the walls. She fires a buckshot into the leg of her 10th victim to cave in his head with her Gorilla Arms.
"Well, that is it, my new star is the last one standing. Give her a round of praise," Bismarck said as Rebecca playfully took a bow.
"Thank you, thank you. I will be here all week," Rebecca said as her carnage got the crowds excited for more battles to come.
Rebecca has been staying in the pits for several months now. She takes walks around the perimeter of the complex to get some fresh air. She sees videos of a certain merc named V who is getting more attention for his anti-Arasaka actions.
Over time Rebecca became a fan of his work, videos of his crime scenes where he would destroy entire groups of criminals or Corpo agents and then vanish without them knowing where. People dubbed him the title the Reaper, some people were fearful that V would come down kill them off in a violent yet tactful manner and disappear like a nuke going off and the bomber ghosting out of there.
His role in raiding the tower, kidnapping Hanako, and raiding the tower to kill Adam Smasher made him a living legend. "Damn he is crazy, I need to learn from his work," Rebecca said having a deep respect for him killing Adam Smasher who was the one who almost kill her due to her stupidity.
She is in her room which is based in the DreadZone complex deep underground. She is watching videos of V while eating her noodles. "Gee, the cook is shit with his cooking lately. It was at least not going to make me cream pie in reverse into a bucket," Rebecca said as she was performing well but she noticed the ratings were not as strong as they used to be.
The crowd used to love the gun gremlin-like Rebecca but they want new blood. She has to keep going but the ratings will be the death of her.
"Rebecca come to the combat zone. You will be running a death course. Prepare yourself," the announcer said on her radio.
"Okay, I will gear up," Rebecca said as she went into the armory to equip a Lexington and a Carnage to get to the platform to head up to the death course.
"Hello everyone to a new episode of the DreadZone. Our contestants will be going through a death course where they must the end. We hope they make it or be turned into a million pieces. Let the games begin," the announcer said on the loudspeaker with Rebecca getting into the death course with turrets on the walls trying to shoot her,
One bullet hits her arm but thankfully it isn't much as she blasts them with her pistol. She leaps over a crate to roll into cover as she dodges bullets from more turrets.
"Come on, turrets can't stop me," she said as she blasted them away. She sees a tunnel up ahead with falling pits that lead to melting metal which will cook her into nothing. "Better fall from those," she thought as she was careful to move at a constant pace with drones hovering above trying to shoot her. "Shit," she said as bullets down her head as she rushes forward to roll away to get out of the tunnel of death.
"Gee, what a trip," she said as the drones came down to shoot at her. "Damn it, more of these rust heads," Rebecca said as she is popping them out of the air. "Any more metal bastards you want me to smoke," she thought as she went forward.
"Oh no, the young Spitfire has to confront a horde of machines," the announcer said as rows of robots.
"Out of the way, scrap bots," Rebecca said as she pulled out her pistol to pop the heads of robots. She shoves her Gorilla Arms to tear out the insides of machines to leave them broken scrap piles.
She double jumps over the robot soldiers to pound down the machine and crush its head with her boot. She fires her shotgun to split the machine in half.
"She is almost to the finish line. Hope for her to complete her task," the announcer said as Rebecca found the voice on the loudspeakers very annoying.
"Goodness, this fucker can't stop talking. Just like hearing himself speaking," Rebecca reaches the finish line with the crowd on the screens going wild but not as much in recent times.
"Well, little Spitfire has managed to reach the finish line. Give her the praise she deserves," the announcer said as Rebecca's fans loved her adorable yet crazed display of carnage on screen. Rebecca hams it up by blowing her fans a kiss and giving them an impish wink. Within his house, Falco is flipping through channels to see a familiar face going through a death course. Falco is beyond surprised to see his old team member Rebecca alive after all this time.
"This is impossible unless Bismarck got his hands on her fast. I need to call someone," Falco said as he has retired from merc work. "Hope V can be reached," Falco said as he contacted V who is in Northern California with his new family Aldecaldosalong with his new girlfriend Panam.
Both of them now are the co-leaders of the Aldecaldos with V sitting in his tent in the wasteland with Panam sleeping in her sleeping bag.
"Man, the wind feels nice today," he said as he pulled out his phone to see Falco was calling him. "Yo Falco, long time no see," V said.
"Likewise, V, I heard you went with the Aldecaldos after you raided Arasaka Tower?" Falco asked.
"Yep, you heard right. Me and my girlfriend are now the leaders of the clan. It's good to be back in this lifestyle with people I care about," V said as Falco was happy about this.
"Good to know you escape the fate that so many edge runners go through in Night City. I used to be a Nomad myself, I hope you enjoy the lifestyle," Falco said.
"You didn't call to shoot the breeze?" V asked.
"You are right. I need you to do a job for me. An old teammate Rebecca has resurfaced to be in a death game called DreadZone owned by Bismarck Rend. I am deeply wary of this, I know his type. All he cares about is his ratings if he can't find any more use for her. He will hesitate to end her life. I have seen her die once and I don't want to see her die again," Falco said.
"Sorry Falco, I could do it but after my problem was fixed. I can only do basic cyberware, no combat ones period. But I do have someone who can complete the job. His name is Cortez Black, he was a former Militech Cyber Commando. A battle-hardened veteran who is proficient with all weapon types and can adapt to any combat conditions. Good with a gun as he is with quick hacks. He will be the one to help you save Rebecca," V said.
"Good. He is your Heavy and if you complete this. You will get another one in Rebecca," Falco said.
'Is she good?" V questioned as Falco looked at several videos of Rebecca doing matches to see all the carnage she had made.
"She is just as bloodthirsty and insane as before. Even better than before, she would be perfect to add to your crew," Falco said.
"Okay. Some eddies and a new Heavy. Seems like a fair deal. We will get on this," V said.
"Thank you V, keep me posted when the job is done. Good luck," Falco said to cut off the phone as Panam woke up from her sleep to spread out her arms.
"Oh, morning baby, more business?" she asked as she gets out of the sleeping bag to only be in her blue boyshorts with her tits hanging out. V looks on with delight but he resumes his focus.
"Yes, someone wants us to rescue someone from DreadZone. We are getting paid with Eddies and a recruit Rebecca who we need to save," V said.
"I see, another heavy will be useful. You got Cortez on the case?" Panam asked as V went over and kissed her on the lips.
"Yeah, I need to contact him. He must be playing those Shooters again," V said as he wirelessly connected with Cortez.
"Oh, hey boss, you need anything?" Cortez asked with a gruff tone of voice.
"Come over to my tent. We got a contact, we need to discuss it," V said.
"Alright, I need to finish this and I will be there," Cortez said as he was done with his game to head towards the command tent where V and Panam are living.
"Well, the big guy has come," Panam said as Cortez was a 6'3 tall muscular man with a bald head, a tan skin tone, red cybernetic eyes, and sporting a tactical outfit from his Militech days but adapted for the nomad lifestyle.
"What do you do boss man?" Cortez asked being loyal to a fault to V and Panam.
"Well, we got a job on our hands. You need to go into DreadZone and rescue Rebecca," V said.
"Oh right, I am a big fan of that show. This lovely lady Spitfire is quite the catch on the eye. She is pretty as she is deadly," Cortez begins to fanboy out as V brings him back into reality. "Oh, my fault, who is Rebecca?" he asked as V sent him a photo of her.
"This is Rebecca aka Spitfire," V said as Cortez was quite happy to see this.
'Wow, so this Rebecca is Spitfire. This is quite the happy coincidence," Cortez said as his inner fanboy couldn't contain his excitement to see Spitfire up close and personal.
"Focus Cortez. You got the skill and proper motivation to get her out of there," V said.
"Well, that will be tricky. All people who fight in the DreadZone have bomb collars around their necks. I am going to be collared too. I need Tin Man on this," Cortez said.
"Oh, our little AI Choom. You two seem to be getting along after you stole him from Militech," Panam said.
"Well, he is useful. It is going to be important to finish this job without losing my neck," Cortez said.
"Greetings Cortez, good morning. I managed to have an excellent recharge period," the little flying drone said as it was shaped like an arrowhead to hover beside him.
"Well Tin Man, going to need your help. We are going on a rescue operation, your hacking skills will be useful," Cortez said.
"I will be glad to aid you once again. Also, I am not Tin Man, I have a proper ID being Model 456123," Tin Man said as Cortez groaned at this.
"Better to say, Tin Man. Your real name is a mouthful," Cortez said as he placed the basketball-sized drone into his back along with other weapons which will be used when they break out at the right moment.
"Well, you have your mission. Good luck," V said.
"Don't worry Boss Man. We got this," Cortez said as he couldn't believe he was saving his crush Rebecca. "Gee, this is like a dream come true," he said.
"Yes, I am reading her files. She is quite interesting, to say the least," Tin Man said.
"Amen brother, those thighs are so thick and juicy like drumsticks. Those plump butt cheeks are a sight to behold. That fiery temper of her, it's pretty adorable," Cortez said.
"Goodness, your heart is racing from speaking about her. Very smitten indeed," Tin Man said letting out a soft chuckle.
"Hey, you had your eyes on that shapely machine we saw at the junkyard the other day," Cortez teased as Tin Man sighed at this.
'Let's not speak about that again," Tin Man said as Cortez playfully laughed at this.
"My lips are sealed," Cortez said as he got into a car to head off towards Night City to get the location of the DreadZone.
"So is your ideal woman?" Tin Man asked with curiosity.
"Well, I like them sweet yet feisty you know. A lot of fire behind them. I love a lady who can handle herself. Loyal to a fault and big on family," Cortez said.
"Hopefully you will get a match soon," Tin Man said as Cortez nodded his head.
"Rebecca, hope you are okay?" Cortez asked as he was both worried and excited to meet the girl of his dreams he had a crush on for a long time.
Within the day, Cortez and Tin Man reached the outskirts of the city in the dead of night to grab the bag filled with weapons and Tin Man inside. "I am hacking into the DreadZone's secure network. Quite odd, it's very old," Tin Man said.
"Well seems like Bismarck is too cheap to keep his security updated constantly," Cortez said as Tin Man rewrites the list of contestants to write Cortez Black there to be the next one to get into the list.
"I managed to put you on the list. Go to the entrance and tell them you registered to join the games," Tin Man said.
"Good work Tin Man," Cortez said as Tin Man had a soft chuckle.
"Well happy to be of service," Tin Man said as he entered inside placing the bag near the vent. Tin Man floats to drag the bag inside the vents to wait for the signal. "I will go into the network and disable the bomb collars. I will give you the word when we need to break out," Tin Man said
"Thanks, here we go," Cortez said as he came to the counter. "Sir, I am here to go into DreadZone," he said as the guy looked at his laptop to see Cortez was resister for double teaming with Spitfire.
"Oh, I see, you going to be part of the new double-team lineup. Going to spice up the games this time. You are with Spitfire, she was once a big name and now she has fizzled out. It's only a matter of time until the boss gets rid of her," the goon said.
"She does have fans," Cortez said.
"Yeah, people like the gun gremlin thing but the crowd want something happy. We supply it," the goon said to let him inside to go down a lift.
He arrives at the center of evil as he gets put into a bomb collar. "Don't do anything stupid or you will lose your head," the henchman said as Cortez nodded his head.
"I will behave like a little puppy," Corte said in a dry tone which pissed off the goon.
"Anyway, you will be living with Spitfire. All teammates share the same living space," he said as Cortez headed over to the barrack to go into the room. Cortez looks over to see the little beauty right in the bottom bunk bed.
"Gee, she is just as pretty as she was on TV," Cortez said as he noticed her long light green hair spread across the back. "Wow, very pretty," he thought as he was in a daze not noticing Rebecca looking at him.
"See something you like big guy?" Rebecca asked with a sexy little wink to make Cortez get out of his daze.
"Oh man, sorry about that. I was distracted," Cortez said as Rebecca had an impish smile.
"Clearly," Rebecca swings her body to get onto her feet. "Take a look, the image will last longer," she teased as Cortez did this.
He makes note that Rebecca is quite small only standing 4'10 tall, having a pear-shaped figure, and sporting a black bra and panties fitting her curves like her wide hips, thick thighs, and big plump rear.
"Quite lovely," Cortez said as Rebecca showed off a cute smile. "How about me?" he asked.
"Very powerful and robust build. Very nice indeed," Rebeca is leering at his big arms and sexy bald head. "Well, you are my partner huh? Bismarck must be getting desperate to push out views," Rebecca said.
"You don't have much time. I didn't come here to join the games, I am here to save you and get you out of here," Cortez said as Rebecca was confused by this.
"Save me, who the fuck would try to save me. No one knows me in Night City," Rebecca said.
"No Falco was the one who made a deal with us to save you," Cortez said as Rebecca was both shocked and happy.
"Oh gramps, you do like me enough to get this handsome merc to save me," Rebecca said.
"Yeah. He made a deal with V to save you in exchange for joining us," Cortez said as Rebecca was even more surprised.
"Your boss is V, the Legend V himself," Rebecca said sounding excited about this.
"Big fan?" he asked.
"Oh yes, I am a fan of his many misadventures. Him raiding the Arasaka Tower is a true work of art of carnage," Rebecca said.
"Yeah, he got some crazy stories to tell. So willing to work with me to bust out of here?" he asked to raise his hand.
"Okay, we are real chooms in this. Big Guy, I am quite lucky to have a big strong man to take care of little o' me," Rebecca said playfully.
"Right, I got your back because it's worth watching," Cortez flirted as Rebecca laughed at this.
"Oh, I bet big guy. So, you got a plan?" she asked.
'I do," Cortez said as Rebecca sighed in relief.
"Good, I suck at plans. I am a do first and never ask type of girl," Rebecca said.
"I got Tin Man scanning for weaknesses in their subnet and breaking the bomb collar's control signal," Cortez said.
"Tin Man?' she questioned.
"He is a smart AI from Militech I stole when I went AWOL. He is in a small drone body and he is going to call me when it's ready to get the hell out of here," Cortez said.
"Damn, you came up with everything," Rebecca said.
"I am just using my Cyber Commando training to its fullest. All we need to do is wait," Cortez said as he climbed onto the top buck bed to rest up.
"Prem. Okay Choom, thanks for being my lifeline," Rebecca said.
"No problem and I have something to say," Cortez said.
"What is it?" she asked.
"You look very pretty with your hair down," Cortez said as Rebecca was caught off guard by this and her pale face was glowing red.
"Oh really?" she asked.
"Yep. I like your pigtails but your long straight hair makes you look more ladylike. Just wanted to say that. I need to nap," Cortez said as Rebecca felt her heart racing.
"Gee, Choom. You have to drop that sweet comment like an atomic strike," she said as she got into bed to rest up as well with hope swelling into her heart she hadn't felt in a long time.
