Chapter 8: Framed:
Boss Awesome's POV:
I got word that someone was robbing an armored car, so I decided to check it out, and when I arrived...
"Hello," I said, "any robbers here?"
I investigated and saw that whatever it was had incredible strength. Then, it hit me, and by that, I mean something came out of nowhere and hit me. I took a look; it was hidden in shadows but was kind of shaped like Four Arms.
"Ben, is that you?"
The figure left.
Ben's POV:
We were chilling at the Playground, waiting for Boss Awesome. Then he came.
"Sorry I'm late," he says, "say, Ben, have you been doing odd things?"
"Who, me," I asked, "the kid with a watch that can turn me into ten different aliens? No."
"Last night, I was attacked by something that looked like Four Arms."
"Maybe it was something of the same species," says Glitter Ace, "I mean the alien forms have to come from something."
"Didn't think of that," says Boss Awesome.
Mysterious Squid Man's POV:
I was speaking with another of Earth's villains.
"Do this for me," I said, "and you will be rewarded."
"No problem," says the fool, "this will be an easy job for Blizzard."
"Remember, if you fail me, you will see I am colder than you are."
The transmission ended.
"Someone needs a hug."
Zak Storm's POV:
Ace, Axel, Mega Man, and I were going on patrol.
"Think we should've invited Ben," asks Mega Man.
"We don't always need him," I said.
Then, there was an explosion.
"Let's check it out," I said.
. . .
We went over to where it came from and saw the cause. It looked kind of like Heatblast... if Heatblast was hit by an even uglier stick. It was a muscular, magma-based lifeform whose body was composed of a dark orange inner magma body covered by olive green rocks on his torso, which turned dark red upon reaching his kneecaps and lower legs, and they also covered his hands in the form of fingerless gloves. His face is brown with a well-developed mandible and visible fangs, whereas his head has four dark orange and red spikes on top, in the style of a mohawk. His feet have a slight oval-like pattern with only two toes.
"What is that," asks Ace.
"Can't you tell," the thing said, "I'm a hottie."
"Calabrass," I said, "give me the Eye of Beru."
I then gained the power of the Sea of Water.
"Activate Wave Man schematics," says Mega Man, who then gained his Wave Man armor.
Mega Man and I then fired water blasts at the thing, but he was tougher. Ace and Axel tried to fight him, but he took them down, and to be fair, Axel turns into a living toy. What'd you expect? Then, an unexpected third participant comes. Blizzard.
"You look a little hot under the collar," he says, "maybe I can cool you down."
Unfortunately, the thing had fire powers, and he took Blizzard down. Then Diamondhead came... wait... Diamondhead?
Ben's POV:
I was just watching Xingo when I heard the explosion. I turned into Diamondhead to check it out, and when I got there, I saw my team and Blizzard being taken down and a guy who looked like a bad parody of Heatblast standing there.
"Who are you supposed to be," I asked.
"You can call me Hot Shot," he said, "but you know me by a different name."
Hot Shot's face then turned into a familiar one... Kevin Levin.
"Is that who I think it is," asks Ace.
"There goes the neighborhood," says Zak.
"Kevin... how," I asked.
"Turns out, I absorbed enough of that weird watch energy so I could turn into any of those aliens inside. Who knew? If I just concentrated hard enough, once again, who knew? The only problem is I can stay human for a short time, for a third time. Who knew? You made me into this freak."
"Like this is my fault," I said, who's idea was it to drain all the powers of the watch? Not mine."
"I don't care," Kevin says, "'cause now it's payback time, partner. Everything is 50/50. I'll commit the crime, and you'll serve the sentence."
"You'll never get away with this."
"Wrong. You'll never get away with this. I'm not me, I'm you. Remember?"
"Is this a joke," Zak asks, "you don't even look like Heatblast. Last time I checked, he wasn't a punk."
"Zak's right, Kevin," says Mega Man, "no one is going to fall for this."
Then, two figures appeared. They were Hawkeye and Moon Knight. That's when Kevin left.
"Kid," Hawkeye says, "we've got some questions for you."
"And the Moon has permitted me to use lethal force."
Great, even the Moon's falling for it. Wait, what am I talking about? Moon Knight's craziness must be contagious. Anyway, Hawkeye's a member of the Avengers. He's like the best archer, and Moon Knight is a guy who talks to the moon.
To escape, I made a diamond wall. Hawkeye manages to shatter it, but we've already gotten away.
. . .
We were at the Playground.
"Kevin," says Boss Awesome, "I should've known.
"I'll try to inform all heroes," says Fury, "but it won't be easy, alot of them don't like me."
"He's not a bad guy," says Boss Awesome, "he's just angry."
"I think you need a vacation," says Zak.
"Anyone else think Blizzard was a little too random," says Axel.
"Just got a report," says Fury, "Cold Cat's attacking the Museum and Blizzard's attacking him."
"I'll deal with Kevin and you guys go after Blizzard," I said.
. . .
When we arrived at the museum, I was going to turn into Cold Cat, but instead, I became Overflow.
"Overflow, against a guy with ice powers," I said.
"Well, let's get going," says Zak.
. . .
Inside the museum, Kevin was there. In his rip-off Cold Cat form, he looked like Cold Cat, except he was black and had a leather jacket. I don't know where that came from.
"You ready," he asked.
I fired water blasts, but he froze them and then tried to freeze me, but I managed to dodge. I then tried to fire another water blast, but he froze that too.
"What? Is this guy a one trick pony," I asked.
"Hey, no one calls me a pony," I said, "do I even sound like one to you?"
I tried firing another water blast, but I think you can guess what happened. He then fired icicles at me. Wait, can Cold Cat do that?
"Time for me to go," Kevin then leaves.
I turn around and see Steel Spider and Globby.
"We're here to take you in," says Globby.
"Didn't Fury tell you guys..."
"Yeah, like we can trust Fury," says Steel Spider, "his secrets have secrets."
"Globby, didn't you have the whole evil twin problem," I asked.
"Hey, you're right," says Globby, "I have been there."
And then Globby and Steel Spider get into an argument, allowing me to escape. I then saw that Blizzard had frozen my team.
"Why didn't I pick Heatblast?"
. . .
We were back at the Playground.
"Kevin's harder than we thought," says Fury.
"I'm sorry, I missed it, because Zak, Axel, and Ace are group hugging me," I said.
"Sorry Ben," says Ace, "but we are freezing.
"We can't all have built in heaters like Mega Man," says Zak.
"I had an idea," says Fury, "since Blizzard keeps showing up where Kevin is, maybe if we find Blizzard, we can find Kevin."
"Good idea," says Boss Awesome, "there's just one thing I don't get, why does Blizzard have an interest in Kevin?"
"I don't think he does," says Mega Man, "I think this is about Ben."
"How does no one notice the difference," asks Fury.
The alarm goes off.
"Kevin," I said, "you guys can let go now."
Blizzard's POV:
My boss did not mention there were two alien shapeshifters. Anyway, I found one of them on the George Washington Bridge. It's a cerulean metallic alien. He has two tubes that extend from his head and has black mask-like markings around his red eyes. He has two tubes of swamp green slime reaching from a respirator where his mouth should be to his chest, and his forearms have orange and gray canisters filled with slime. He has black four-fingered hands and three black toes on each foot. He also has a gray protrusion on top of his head with black openings on the front and back that each have three red buttons.
"Alright," I said, "I'm taking you in."
"You know, Frosty," the freak says, "you've been bugging me all day."
He tried to fire water blasts, but I froze them.
"Great, it's the same fight, but in reverse," he said.
"Hey, wait, that's not water," I said, "it's some kind of green slime."
He then makes whips out of his slime and whips me. I then created an ice bridge and he managed to destroy it. I then managed to freeze him.
"Now to call the Boss."
I got on my communicator and started, but then the ice shattered. I turned around and saw he had turned into the big diamond form. His body is composed of durable dark purple crystals. He sports two crystal shards on his back and has red eyes and a sharp point on his head. His shoulders sport spikes, and his four-fingered hands are clawed. He wears a sleeveless black bodysuit, with a jagged V-shaped portion on his upper torso colored light purple. Six rib-shaped crystal formations surround the back of his waist. Crystal formations cover his knees like kneepads.
I was going to freeze him, but he knocked me out.
Ben's POV:
And that's when I came in as Four Arms.
"You're going down," I said.
"Awe, does that mean we can't be friends," Kevin says, "I mean look at us. We're practically brothers."
"I think I'd rather stick with my cousin."
We then engaged in hand-to-hand combat. Kevin had Diamondhead-like powers, so he was able to make weapons out of his hands, but I was able to fight them. He then fired diamond shards, but I knocked them away.
"Crystal Fist is gonna..."
"Hold it," I said, "Crystal Fist, really?"
"Yeah, why," asks a confused Kevin.
Now I'm wondering where he comes up with the names. Now I'm imaging him getting the ideas from a monkey.
"Hot Shot," says the Imaginary Monkey.
Kevin then punches me while I was thinking of that.
"What were you doing," Kevin asks.
"UUUUUUUUUhhhhhhhhh... imaging you getting ideas from a monkey?"
Kevin pauses for a bit.
"What?"
Kevin then fires some diamond shards, and they knock Blizzard off the bridge, but I managed to save him.
I brought Blizzard to some S.H.I.E.L.D. agents and got back to Kevin.
"This has gone far enough," I said.
"Yeah, I stopped listening after you said monkey," Kevin says.
He then turned into an insect humanoid with red skin and eyes and wore golden armor. He has a set of brown wings on his back with a pair of golden pads protecting them. He has a big chin and a grey horn. He is also the same size as Four Arms. Probably Stinkfly's counterpart. He tried to fly away, but I grabbed him and knocked him to the ground. He then turned human. I was about to hit him, but I decided not to and walked away.
"Hey, come back here you coward," Kevin says.
"You already lost," I said.
Then Kevin was frozen. I looked and saw it was Blizzard.
"What did you expect me to do, hug you," he says, "now to freeze you both. The Boss will double my payment for this."
"Who are you working for," I asked.
"Someone who may be more powerful than Red Skull, Goblin, and Obake."
Then the ice shattered, and we both saw Kevin become an alien. But it was different. He mostly looked like Four Arms, but he had an upper left arm belonging to Heatblast, an upper right arm belonging to Diamondhead, a lower left arm belonging to Cold Cat, a lower right arm belonging to Overflow, Stinfly's wings, XLR8's tail, and an upper back resembling Cannonbolt's. His right eye looked like Gray Matter's, and his left eye was Wildvine's.
Kevin tried to change back but couldn't.
"I can't change back," he said, "I'm stuck like this. This is all your fault."
"Are you gonna blame me for everything," I asked.
Kevin was about to attack me, but then he got punched by a giant gooey fist. It was Globby.
"We heroes that get framed by copycats gotta stick together," he said.
I looked and noticed Blizzard got away. Just who was he working for.
. . .
We were at the Playground, and so were Hawkeye, Moon Knight, Steel Spider, and Globby.
"Sorry," says Steel Spider.
"Apparently, the moon said that there was an evil twin of Ben Tennyson and to go after him," says Moon Knight, "sometimes I misunderstood what the moon said."
"Yeah, I can't believe we bought it," says Hawkeye, "his aliens don't even look like yours."
I wasn't paying attention.
"Yeah, ignore us," says Globby, "we deserve it."
"Huh, sorry guys," I said, "I was thinking about Blizzard. Someone hired him. But who?"
"Oh, you were thinking of something else, okay, but take this from a guy who worked for an evil mastermind," says Globby, "this may not be over."
Blizzard's POV:
I was on the ship, facing the Boss.
"Look, I know you're upset..."
"On the contrary, Mr. Blizzard," he said, "thanks to you, I now know there is another with the powers of the Omnitrix and he could be very useful to me."
He then left out an evil laugh, and I looked and saw Dr. Doom in a glass tube.
In the next chapter, Ben and his team will save the world of Gor from Magor.
