Chapter 11: Rom the Spaceknight:

Jack's POV:

I was thinking about the time I was on Cybertron. I wonder what the planet's like now. Last time I saw it, it was dead, and I had to run from an Insecticon while trying to keep Scraplets from eating Vector Sigma. Yep, that was my life. Can you believe I got this job because I was friends with an alien? Anyway, the alarm went off. Something was coming. Time to get to work.

. . .

We were all gathered at the location. Whatever it was, it revealed itself. It was some kind of armored man. It spoke in a language none of us recognized. Miko knocked it out with a NERF blaster.

"What? For all we knew, it probably said it was going to eat us."

"Is it Cybertronian," asks Twilight.

"They don't normally come in this size," says Raf.

"Let's take him in the base," says Duke.

. . .

We were all watching our new guest. The stranger then woke up. He looked at all of us and tried to speak in his weird language.

"Dude, we can't speak whatever that is," says Miko, "now, are you a good guy like the Autobots or a bad guy like the Decepticons?"

"I'm not sure he can understand us," says Raf.

The stranger then looked at a device on his chest and saw it was broken.

"I think that's a translator," I said.

"Dr. Robertson, can you fix it," asks Duke.

"Maybe too advanced for me," says Dr. Robertson.

"Ratchet taught me about Cybertronian tech," says Raf, "he's probably not from the same planet, but it's a start."

"Alright, Raf, you try to fix it," says Duke, "but be careful. You might get hurt."

Raf then began work on it. "I think I'm done," says Raf.

The stranger then began to speak. "CAN ANY OF YOU UNDERSTAND ME?"

"NOT SO LOUD," says Miko.

"Sorry. I am Rom of the Spaceknights."

"Spaceknights," I said, "what's that?"

"We are an elite corps of cyborg warriors created by the humanoids of the planet Galador to battle the Dire Wraiths."

"You're a cyborg," says Miko, "cool, Raf's technorganic."

"Hi," says Raf.

"That's a new one. Anyway, I came here because a Dire Wraith is here."

"And what is a dire wraith," I asked.

"I'll explain with this story. In the distant past, possibly over a billion years ago, when the Skrulls were still in their early stages of development, the Celestials came to Skrullos and experimented on selected natives. They created the Eternal, Prime, and Deviant Branches. The Deviants turned on their cousin races and exterminated them."

"The Skrulls," says Raf, "you mean like the things The Agents of S.M.A.S.H. and The Fantastic Four dealt with?"

"Yes. Studying black magic, some Skrulls became the Dire Wraiths."

"And one is here," says Duke.

"I came to apprehend the criminal. Can I trust any of you to help me. I mean when we tried to talk earlier, I wasn't sure if you said you were going to eat me."

We then all huddled up.

"I don't know if we can trust him," says Twilight.

"It would be nice to have a good alien around again," says Raf.

"And I like his armor," says Miko.

"But how do we know he isn't making this up," says Brightmore.

"On the other hand," says Dr. Robertson, "if he is telling the truth, then there could be a dangerous black magic Skrull among us."

"I read about the Skrulls," I said, "they are not friendly."

"We'll set this guy up to a lie detector," Duke says, "and we'll see if he is telling the truth."

We all then turned around and saw Rom was scanning us.

"Just trying to see if any of you are Dire Wraiths."

. . .

We had Rom hooked up to a lie detector.

"So, this gizmo will tell you if I am telling the truth," asks Rom, "that's incredible."

"First question," says Duke, "what is your name?"

"I am Rom."

Positive.

"Where are you from?"

"Galador."

Positive.

"What is your mission?"

"To find and apprehend the Dire Wraith."

Positive.

"Alright, your story seems to check out so far. I'll let Director Flagg know."

. . .

Miko, Raf, and I were showing Rom some of the things Earth has on the monitor.

"Hey, that's a Tetramand. I once fought one of them and almost married her. I was lucky to get out of that one."

"Have you ever heard of Cybertron," I asked.

"I don't think I've ever been there. What's that planet like?"

"The people are all giant robots that can turn to vehicles, bugs, dragons, and other things," says Miko.

"Sounds like an interesting planet," says Rom.

"I better see how things are going," I said.

. . .

I walked over to the office.

"Hey Jack," says an agent.

"Oh, hey Agent Kraller."

"I hear you guys have another alien. You and your friends sure seem to attract them."

"I guess it's just our luck."

Then Duke came.

"He says we can help Rom," says Duke, "let's go."

. . .

We went over and saw Miko, Raf, and Rom were gone.

"Let's go find them," says Duke.

. . .

We searched the city for them.

"Miko, what did you do this time," I asked.

"Hey Jack," says Miko, who arrives with Raf and Rom without his suit, "this is what Rom looks like. He was worried he wouldn't be able to breath but turns out he breaths just fine."

"Miko convinced me to do this," says Raf.

"What were you guys thinking," I asked.

"Relax, I just wanted to show Rom around."

"I made a friend named Brandy Clark," says Rom.

"Well, at least you guys didn't get into any trouble," I said.

"Except when Rom attacked some guys at a movie studio," says Miko.

"I thought they were real chitauri."

"Let's go," I said.

"Say Jack," says Rom, "Miko and Raf told me about the time you went to Cybertron."

"Oh yeah, a friend of ours needed his memories back. So, I had to go there to get what we needed to fix him."

"They also mentioned how you took on creatures called an 'Insecticon' and 'scraplets.' Sounds to me like you would've made a find spaceknight."

"I don't know. I'm no warrior."

"You also made a fool out of Airachnid," says Miko, "alot."

"Let's just go guys," I said.

. . .

We arrived at the base and Agent Kraller was there to greet us.

"Wait a minute," says Rom, "my Energy Analyzer. It's detected a Dire Wraith! That man!"

"Agent Kraller," says Miko, "but... actually, we met him two weeks ago."

Agent Kraller then revealed his true form.

"What did you do with the real Agent Kraller," asks Raf.

"Fools, there is no Agent Kraller," he says, "I made him up and now I'm going to destroy this Spaceknight."

Rom then switches to his armor. "You are under arrest!"

Rom and the Dire Wraith then fought. Rom had a weapon, but the Dire Wraith knocked it out of his hand.

"No need for toys," says the Dire Wraith.

They continued to fight. The weapon was in front of me.

"Jack," says Rom, "that's my neutralizer! It can send a Dire Wraith back to Limbo!"

I then picked it up and used it on the Dire Wraith.

"NO!"

The Dire Wraith then disappeared.

"Jack the Spaceknight," says Miko.

"Well done," says Rom.

"Here comes the others," says Raf.

"What did we miss," asks Duke.

. . .

It was time to say goodbye to Rom.

"It was a pleasure to meet you," says Duke.

"Likewise, Sergeant," says Rom.

The two shook hands

"If you ever come back," says Dr. Robertson, "I have so many questions about your technology."

"And I'll have the answers," says Rom.

"Maybe one day, we'll come to your planet," I said.

"I would like that, and I will tell the others about you, Jack."

Rom then took off.

"We have got to tell the Autobots about this," says Miko.

We all then went back inside.

"I always thought there was something odd about Agent Kraller," says Twilight, "I mean the man uses the five second rule."

"That's disgusting," says Brightmore.

"Don't knock it till you try it," says Duke.

In the next chapter, Unit: E learns that Chrysalis left something behind when they defeated her.
