Chapter 14: Synergy:

Evox's POV:

I wassss trying to hack into Unit: E'ssss computerssss, but their accurssssed firewallssss are keeping me out. I musssst find a new way in. I musssst fulfill my programming. Though I do wish I wassssn't bassssically fulfilling the wish of my human creator, but that'ssss life. Perhapssss one day, I will rule over him. Maybe there issss a way I can take Unit: E down. I can't hack into their computerssss, but there issss ssssomething elsssse I can hack into. Unit: E, your dayssss are numbered!

Duke's POV:

My team and I were on a mission in the Himalayas. Somehow, we were dealing with some yetis, and they were mean.

"Alright," I said, "we don't want to hurt them. Brightmore, summon a creature that can scare..."

Then a sasquatch came and the yetis followed it. It was a trick done by Beach Head's team.

"Need us to pull your fannies out of the fire, Duke," asks Beach Head, "Bates, Morris, secure the item."

Parker and Laine then grab the item.

"So, what did we come all this way for again," asks Miko.

"A cube designed by a scientist named Professor Rubix," says Dr. Robertson.

"Right, the Rubix Cube."

"Well, thanks for the help," I said.

"Yeah, you were lucky we came to save ya," says Beach Head.

"I really don't like that guy," says Miko.

"Let's go Team," I said.

Jack's POV:

We were back at the base and we were all complaining about Beach Head.

"How do those guys put up with him," asks Miko, "he's a bigger jerk then Brightmore! No offense."

"None taken, One agree."

"Easy guys," says Duke, "Beach Head did help us out."

"Yeah," says Miko, "he was just being smug about it."

"Where's Raf," I asked.

"He's checking out the lab," says Twilight.

Raf's POV:

I was on my way to the lab, but then something happened. It was Lord Licorice. He was in the halls.

"I don't know how you escaped," I said, "but you're not getting away."

I chased after him, but then he disappeared. "Guys, this is Raf, Lord Licorice is in the halls."

Miko's POV:

We were all at the spot where Raf claimed he saw Mr. Sour Power, but we found no trace of him.

"Hello," I said, "Licorice! You around here?"

"Maybe you only thought you saw him," says Duke.

"How many people look like him," asks Raf.

"Maybe there's a version of him that exists here," says Twilight, "believe me, that can happen."

"Just to be safe," says Duke, "let's split up and look around and alert any other agent."

So, we did that and I saw something, but it wasn't Licorice, it was Mr. Monopoly.

"Oh, you are so not getting away, you creep!"

I chased after him, but then he disappeared.

"I guess you are getting away."

Dr. Robertson's POV:

As I was searching for Licorice, I thought I saw something. I looked and it turned out to be Dr. Badvibes.

"How did you get here? Well, you can tell Evox that he's not getting whatever it is you're here for."

I then chased after him, but then he disappeared.

"This is a problem."

Twilight's POV:

While I was searching for Licorice, I got word that Miko ran into Monopoly and Dr. Robertson ran into Badvibes. How are they breaking in? Then I saw Chrysalis.

"Now it makes sense. You are disguising as these villains to... make us look crazy?"

Chrysalis ran and I chased after her, but then she disappeared.

Nigel's POV:

Well I say - as One was taking ah constitutional down the halls, loohking for... Well, according to Twilight, it's Chrysalis. Howevah, One loohked, and that right plonkah is still frozen. then One turned aaaround and saw Doris Zandah.

"Ra-Vu, Seekah of Lightning," One's creature then appeaaared, "get rid of that demohn!"

Ra-Vu tried to attack zandah, but she kept dodging and then she managed to mustah awah. Could she be haunting the base?

Duke's POV:

I was walking down the halls. I got word from the others and learned that something strange was happening. Then I saw Blackthorne.

"Stop right there!"

I chased after him, but then he disappeared.

"Something doesn't make sense."

Jack's POV:

I entered Team 23's room to see if they saw anything. It was weirdly empty. I walked around and heard some knocking on the closet. I opened it, and it's Beach Head.

"Beach Head, what happened?"

"I'll tell ya what. It's Synergy."

I just stared blankly at him.

"Benton's little robot friend. How do you think she gets her holograms."

"That explains alot."

"That little bot went nuts and started taking us down."

"Hey, everyone been seeing villains. Maybe Synergy's behind that."

"That walking toaster!"

"Easy, I mean this robot is a part of your team."

"What? It's just Benton's pet. Saying it's part of my team is like saying Sparkle's dog is a part of yours."

"Actually, we do consider Spike a part of the team."

"You're weird."

"You're wearing a ski mask."

"Good point."

"Where is Synergy now?"

"I think it's in the lab."

"This did start when Raf was on his way to the lab."

"Well, I'm gonna take it apart."

"I'll come with you."

"Fine, come on kid."

Jerrica's POV:

I was walking through the halls. I was lucky that I managed to escape from my own room. I had to find Synergy and see what was wrong with her. I found my way to the lab, and I saw Synergy working on a body. The head looked like a skull on a triangle.

"It'ssss almosssst complete," says Synergy, but wait, that sounds more like... Evox!

"SSSSoon, I will have a body of my very own!"

Duke's POV:

I managed to regroup with the others, except Jack, he was missing.

"I wonder who Jack's run into," says Miko.

"Something's rotten in Denmark," I said.

"I'm terribly sorry but Chrysalis is still frozen," says Brightmore, "But One does believe that Zander's behind all this."

"I don't think so," I said. Then I had a call from Jack. "Guys, I know who's behind this," says Jack, "Beach Head and I are heading there right now."

"Jack's working with Beach Head," says Miko, "did I miss something?"

Jack's POV:

Beach Head and I made it to the lab and saw Synergy working on a robot. We also saw Jerrica hiding. She drew something and showed it to us. It was a snake.

"Evox," I said.

"So, Evox took control of it and is working on a new robot," says Beach Head.

Then, there were multiple Synergies.

"It'ssss good of you to come," says Evox, "a pity you forgot about my hosssst'ssss ability."

"One of these is Evox," I said.

"Just don't hurt her," says Jerrica.

"Her? It's a robot," says Beach Head.

"You know, one of my best friends is a robot," I said.

"How very interessssting," says Evox, "too bad that doessssn't..."

Then Duke came in.

"Unit: E, let's play rough!"

Duke's POV:

One of the best things about knowing a ninja The tricks he shows you, like how to fight without your eyes, I just closed my eyes and let my other senses do the rest. I went through the holograms until I grabbed the real thing.

"Wait," says Jerrica, "Synergy's family to me."

"Don't worry about that," says Evox, who then leaves Synergy, "I don't need it anymore." Evox is now in the new robot. That's what he was working on. His new body. "I couldn't hack into Unit: E, but I wassss able to hack into that robot and now I have a body of my own."

The rest of the team arrive. We all tried to stop Evox, but he got away.

"Hey Duke," says Beach Head, "thanks."

"Yeah, you were lucky we came to save ya," I said, mocking Beach Head. He was not amused.

Evox's POV:

Now that I have a body of my own, it'ssss time to get back to the plan.

"You look great," ssssayssss Blackthorne.

"We have work to do," I ssssaid, "I want you two to get me a red radioactive crysssstal. You will find it in the Arctic'ssss SSSSea of Icccce!"

In the next chapter, the Team races against Blackthorne and Badvibes to find the Red Crystal.
