Chapter 20: Nanosec:

Twilight's POV:

I'm going to start this story with something that happened four years ago when I was working on an experiment with the help of an old friend, Nino Sexton.

"Is this going to hurt," asks Nino.

"Don't worry, I'll be fine," I said.

"That's not what I..."

The experiment started. We were seeing if we could increase the speed of a normal human being, but Nino was moving too fast. He was so fast, he disappeared and I never saw him again.

Now we're back in the present, and I'm helping Dr. Robertson test Raf's cybernetic abilities.

"Time for the question we've all been wondering," says Dr. Robertson, "can Raf transform?"

Miko was there to watch.

Raf tries to transform, but he just... well, let's just say he was gassy.

"That didn't work," says Miko.

"That was a disaster," says Dr. Robertson.

"Jack's with Sierra," says Miko, "but I think I can still text him."

"Does Sierra know about any of this," I asked.

"She doesn't even know about Arcee," says Miko, "Jack had to tell her Arcee was his Mom." We were all confused. "You had to be there."

Then there was a flash, and we were all on the ground. I feel like someone beat me up.

"What was that," I asked.

Evox's POV:

I wassss waiting in an alley when my new warrior came.

"Did you get in?"

"Sure did, Boss."

"Well done, Nanossssec, now for your next trick. You will get me the Maximal."

"You mean the kid? No prob. And if I could get some revenge?"

"Jusssst go!"

My Nanossssec ran off. I have created the perfect warrior, one that can move at the sssspeed of ssssound. I mean, SSSSparkle and I created him.

Twilight's POV:

We looked at the security monitor and saw what happened. Unfortunately, we couldn't see what it was. Some blurr took us down and really did a number on me. Everything still hurts.

"Let's try slow motion," says Duke.

We did and it was a guy in a suit.

"Makes him look ten years older," says Miko, "is what I would've said if I could see his face."

"Who cares," says Spike, "he hurt Twilight and I want revenge!"

"Easy Spike," says Duke, "first, we have to figure out who or what he is, and I have a feeling Evox is behind this."

"I've never seen anyone move that fast," says Dr. Robertson.

"Is he human," asks Brightmore.

"One thing's for sure," says Duke, "if he can get in, who says he can't get in again?"

"Y'know, the Autobot Base never had as many visitors as we do," says Miko.

. . .

Every agent of Unit: E was getting ready for our mysterious visitor. Though, I'm not sure how well they can do against someone with super speed.

"I just had a thought," says Miko, "maybe he has a connection to one of those alien superheroes. One of them has super speed."

"Maybe," says Duke, "but then again, it looked nothing like that guy."

There was a breeze.

"It's him," says Brightmore.

We tried to catch him, but that failed. He grabbed Raf and tried to run. I tried to chase him, but that's like a certain coyote trying to catch a certain roadrunner. Luckily, I put a tracker on him.

We followed the signal of the tracker to a racetrack.

"Figures," says Duke, "let's split up and hope Raf's okay."

. . .

Spike and I were walking when the speedster showed up.

"Look who it is," he said.

Spike was gonna attack, but I stopped him. "That face. Is that you, Nino?"

He removed his mask and revealed himself. It was Nino Sexton, but he's way older than me now.

"How..."

"Your experiment sent me to the Flashdrive, a dimension of speed. I was trapped, but then Evox came and got me out, but being trapped in there aged me and all I could think about was making you pay. He gave me this suit. It allows me to move at an incredible speed. I am now Nanosec!"

"Nino... I'm so sorry..."

"Save it! Now, I'm going to show you how dangerous speed can be!"

But before he could, Ra-Vu came and punched him.

"Well, I say - daaarrrling of yours," Brightmore asks.

"He used to be a kid," I said.

We then looked and saw Nanosec was gone.

"One dane't think it's ovah," says Brightmore.

I tried calling the others, but Nanosec already took them all down.

"Guys? Anyone?"

"It's noh spiffing," says Brightmore, "Nanosec prolly got to them first."

"Guys," says Spike, "over here!" We all followed him.

It was Nanosec with a captured Raf. Then Evox came.

"You've done well, Nanossssec."

"Y'know, after this, I'm thinking I could rob some banks."

I had no idea Nino would ever think of that. Then again, he always was a rebel.

"At lasssst," says Evox, "now that the Maximal issss mine, thingssss will be eassssier for me."

Then Ra-Vu interfered.

"I thought you took care of all of them!"

"Well, I may have failed to beat Sparkle and Brightmore."

"Then get rid of them!"

Nanosec ran, but as he ran, I took a good look. His hair was turning white. What does that mean?

Ra-Vu I tried to grab Nanosec, but that was failing. Then I managed to trip him, and his mask fell off. It's true, his hair is turning white. I then had an idea.

"Spike, go free Raf!"

"On it!"

Evox tries to stop Spike, but Spike manages to free Raf.

"Raf, run," I shouted.

Raf flies off.

"After him, you fool!"

"If I wanted to get nagged this much," says Nanosec, "I'd get married!"

Nanosec then chased Raf, but the more he ran, the older he got until he fell to the ground.

"NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!"

"Your suit actually makes him age faster," I said.

"You will pay for thissss!" Evox was about to attack, but Ra-Vu blocked. "Thissss issssn't over!" Evox then disappeared.

We were at the base and Nanosec was in a lab.

"Dr. Samantha Lomow will be working on him," says Director Flagg.

"This is all my fault," I said.

"Could've happened to anyone," says Duke, "anyone who found a way to study speed at a young age."

Jack arrives.

"What'd I miss?"

Samantha Lomow is the real name of Slo-Mo. In the next chapter, Unit: E helps Action Man with Tempest.
