Chapter 42: Flex Fighters:
Dr. Robertson's POV:
I have arrived in Charter City to meet with the Flex Fighters. They have found the next shard of the Infinity Sword, and hopefully, society won't realize it. I met with them at an alley.
"Here's the shard," says Stretch. The shard was in a briefcase.
"Thanks guys," I said, "I hope the others also found their shards."
"I'm just glad we haven't seen any sign of Rook or the others," says Wingspan.
We were then attacked by Stretch Monster.
"Way to jinx it," says Omni-Mass.
Stretch Monster acted more feral. He grabbed Wingspan and threw him around. Blindstrike kicked him. He then grabbed her and threw her in a dumpster. Omni-Man then punched him. Stretch Monster then jumped on him. Stretch then grabbed him. Stretch Monster then pulled him off. I then blasted Stretch Monster with my NERF blaster. The Stretch Monster started to change, but it wasn't Rook.
"Gabe," asks Wingspan.
This 'Gabe' was on the ground, unconscious.
"Friend of yours," I asked.
"Not exactly," says Wingspan.
"He was The New Multi-Farious for a while," says Stretch.
"Why is he always copying someone else's mutation," Omni-Mass asks.
Then three other Stretch Monsters came.
"I have a feeling Rook did this," says Stretch.
We ended up fighting back the Stretch Monsters.
"They're like animals," says Wingspan.
"So, what's going on," asks Omni-Mass, "is Stretch Monster contagious now?"
The Stretch Monsters were getting too tough, so I threw a flash grenade, allowing us to escape.

We were in the Flex Fighters' secret hideout. I saw the unconscious Dr. C.
"So, anyone got any ideas on what's going on," asks Omni-Mass.
"Rook must've found a way to turn others into Stretch Monsters," says Stretch.
"In other words, we have to find a way to cure them," I said.
"Maybe we'd have a better idea if we found Stretch Monster," says Stretch.
"The real one," says Wingspan.
"Mind if I used your computer," I asked.
They gave me permission and I took a look. Rook's own building would be a good place to look, but that might be too obvious. Then I saw something. "What's that?"
"That's where Rook was secretly working on his Hyper Flexarium plan," says Omni-Mass.
"Then that's where we have to look," I said.

We went over to Rook's secret lair. We had to be sneaky and avoid any Stretch Monsters. The city was crawling with them. I heard that years ago, in a city called 'Danville,' they had a similar problem. It was like 'lots of him'. We found the secret lab and saw Stretch Monster, who then attacked us. It was one of his Stretch Monster copies.
"This is the worst game of Where's Waldo ever," says Omni-Mass.
Then more Stretch Monsters came, and we started fighting them off. I managed to get out of that and I saw a man in a trench coat. I then realised who that was. I then tackled him to the ground.
"Hello Mr. Rook," I said.
"Dr. Robertson, good to see you," he said.
"I'm surprised you didn't turn to Stretch Monster. You could've blended in better."
"That's what you would be expecting."
"You mutated these people, why?"
"As part of a desperate plan to get the shard."
"Rook, think of what your Mother would've wanted..."
That was probably the wrong thing to say as Rook then started to change out of anger and attacked me.
"You made your biggest mistake," he says.
Stretch Monster then wrapped his arm around me and started choking me. Omni-Mass then punches him.
"That's the real Stretch Monster, right?"
"Yes, and look what I have," Stretch Monster managed to take the shard from me and started stretching away.
"We have to go after him," says Stretch.
The Flex Fighters and Blindstrike chased after Stretch Monster.
"In case none of you noticed," I said, "I don't have any powers anymore!"
I then looked up and saw some were heading towards me. I then blasted them back, and they all reverted to their human forms. I then took a scooter off and headed off.

I found the spot where the Flex Fighters found Stretch Monster. They were on the roof of a building. I went in and used an elevator to get up.

I finally made it there and saw that Stretch Monster had the Flex Fighters all tied up.
"Hello Dr. Robertson."
"How did you do any of this?"
"I'm glad you asked."

Luckily for me, the people of Charter City still have no idea that Jonathan Rook is Stretch Monster. So, it was easy for them to trust me when I made my new product. The Rook's Shake All they had to do was drink it and everything that made me stretch Monster was in them, turning Charter City into a city of...
. . .
"Me!"
"I thought you wanted to help people," I said.
"I want to evolve them. They'll learn to be happier this way."
I then tackled him.
"Did you forget that I'm in my Stretch Monster form? Maybe you would stand a better chance if you were Multi-Farious."
Stretch Monster started beating me, but I managed to grab the shard from him.
"NNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!"
I took it and he came after me. I then dropped the shard and it fell off the building, hitting the ground, creating a powerful light that cured all the victims. turning them back to humans.
"They're cured," I said.
I then look and saw one Stretch Monster wasn't, the original.
"Well, lucky I wasn't."
Stretch Monster was about to attack, but then the Flex Fighters took him down.
"This isn't over!"
Stretch Monster then throws a smoke bomb and disappears.
"He's gone," I said.
. . .
"Too bad Rook got away," says Omni-Mass.
"True, but at least he didn't get this shard," I said.
"We checked," says Stretch, "everyone in Charter City is cured."
"These shards are powerful," I said, "and that's why I have to take it back to Unit: E."
"See ya around, Dr. Robertson," says Wingspan.
"You too."
Stretch Monster's POV:
I was on my way back to our hideout. This is far from over. Soon, we will have the Infinity Sword and we will be invincible.
In the next chapter, Brightmore will work with Ray, Gabe, and Allie to keep a shard from the Choten.
