Chapter 72: Sunset:
Malise's POV:
Sunset Shimmer's Stone will soon be mine.
Malise: The time has come to cause the end
Once I take the stone belonging to Twilight's friend
And I'll humiliate the girl, you'll see
And then I'll take down Unit: E for good
Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha, Ha!
That's not all
I must remember Metlar's the most important of all
So that he may be pleased with me
We must defeat that Unit: E
So, you see
The Master must be free
It's what you started, I vow to finish
Then that pathetic Unit: E will diminish
And with the help of that Trixie
The Master must be free
The only threats are those foolish spies
But I'll take them down to size
And with those stones out of the way
Metlar will finally have his day
What a terrible turn of events
It's what you started, I vow to finish
Then that pathetic Unit: E will diminish
And with the help of that Trixie
The Master must be free
Is it wrong to release a demon?
Should I surrender to Unit: E?
NNNNNNNNNooooooooo!
I will destroy Unit: E
And with the help of Trixie
The Master will be free!
Jack's POV:
I went to the game store where I'll meet Sunset. I saw her in line. I then walked over to her.
"Sunset," I said.
"Yeah?"
"My name is Jack Darby. I'm with Unit: E."
"Oh, cool. You're one of Twilight's Government friends... okay, what's the problem?"
"There's this group of villains that are trying to bring back an evil demon, and your stones could defeat him."
"The game can wait. What do we do?"
"How'bout, surrender?" We looked and saw her. "The name's Malise. Metlar's witch!" She tried to attack us, but I blasted her with my NERF blaster. Sunset and I then ran. "That could've gone better."
. . .
We ran to an alley.
"I think we lost her," I said.
"That blaster's pretty cool," says Sunset.
"Thanks. Dr. Don Robertson made it. He left the team. Got a new job."
"So, this cult, who else is in it?"
"Jonathan Rook."
"You're kidding."
"He can turn into a monster with stretching powers. Also, a creature from another dimension."
"Equestria?"
"No... this is a different dimension, one based on Fire, Nature Water, Light, and Darkness. Also, a large arachnoid robot named Airachnid... and Trixie."
"Trixie Lulamoon?"
"Apparently, the demon Metlar promised to make her a powerful sorceress... I guess... I'm a little unsure of the details."
"Come out and play," says Malise as she looks for us.
"We better keep moving," I said.
Malise's POV:
I looked in an alley, but they weren't there. Instead, it's some weird guy dressed like a gopher.
"They're not here," I said.
"Because I chose to dress this way. You're not my mom!"
I just walked away.
Jack's POV:
We were on our way to the jet.
"Jack, I think I can sense her. She's heading for the jet too."
"Of course. She'd expect us to be there."
"Is your jet even hidden?"
"Well... no, we... never think of that... let's go!"
. . .
We were hiding in the mall. We needed a way to get to the jet, but first we'd have to get rid of Malise.
"Can't you just call for backup," asks Sunset.
I then got out my communicator. "This is Jack Darby calling Unit: E. I have Sunset, but we may need backup."
"I'm sending Team 23," says Director Flagg.
"Great," I said.
"What's Team 23 like," asks Sunset.
"The rest are cool," I said, "but their leader's kind of a jerk."
Malise's POV:
I was waiting for the jet, but it wasn't coming. Then someone showed up.
"We are with Unit: E," says a man with a green ski mask, "you are under arrest!"
"You've got to be kidding me."
"Wanna try us," asks a boy with a yo-yo.
Jack's POV:
Sunset and I were walking through the mall. I tried calling Team 23.
"Beach Head, come in," I said, "Beach Head!"
"Beach Head can't come to the phone." It was Malise. I then hung up.
"We have to keep moving," I said.
. . .
We were walking, but then I stopped and looked at the window of a clothing store.
"That mannequin," I said, "it's Jerrica." We then entered the store.
"She's still alive," says Sunset.
"Malise is here," I said.
. . .
Sunset and I were in the food court.
"This is getting really scary," says Sunset.
I then saw something under a table. I went to check it out. "Parker Bates," I said.
Sunset checks on him. "He's also alive."
"Let's keep moving."
. . .
We were in the sporting goods section.
"Can you sense her," I asked.
"She could be anywhere in the building," says Sunset, "wait, over there, in that pile of tennis balls!"
We walked over to it. It was Laine Morris.
"She's toying with us," I said.
"Yeah, but you gotta admit. This is kind of impressive."
"Let's go."
. . .
Now we're in the parking lot.
"There's someone in that car," says Sunset.
We went to check it out. It was Beach Head.
"How did she manage to get everyone here," I asked.
"It gets worst," says Sunset, "she's in the parking lot!"
Sunset and I then hid, and we saw Malise walking around, looking for us.
"This just keeps getting better," I said.
Then Sunset's phone rings. She answers it. "Now's not the best time, Flash!"
Malise then runs towards us. Sunset and I then ran. The car Beach Head was in then hit Malise.
"It was lucky that dang ringtone woke me up," says Beach Head, "no one knocks out Beach Head! Darby, get that girl out of here!"
Sunset and I then ran out of the parking lot.
. . .
Sunset and I managed to leave the mall, and we were on our way to the jet, but it was destroyed.
"What else could happen," I asked.
The car Beach Head was driving then arrives. Team 23 gets out. They looked like they'd seen better days.
"I know we look bad," says Beach Head, "but you should see that witch. Now come on, we're givin' ya a ride in our jet. You comin' or not?"
I never thought I'd be glad to see Beach Head.
. . .
We were at the base.
"I can't believe Beach Head helped you," says Miko.
"It was a weird day," I said.
"It gets weirder," says Director Flagg, "we're getting a call. They want us to meet them in Canada."
In the next chapter, the team meets the Queen of Space.
