This is a Madeline era AU, based off the 2012 musical. A secret of the Inspector's is revealed when a gypsy clan arrived in the mayor's town. We get to see how both Javert and Madeline/Valjean deal with its repercussions, particularly when Javert's men start to think of him as a lesser man. Don't panic there's an ok-ish ending when I get there.

It's there that Javert becomes increasingly aware of Cosette Fauchelevant, who is not only beautiful but good and kind. When tragic news about Marius comes, Javert finds himself in an unexpected position.

There are twenty-four hours in a day, and some faceless entity strives to make Grantaire a priority. Is it inappropriate to be flattered? Maybe he's developed Stockholm syndrome. Grantaire felt wholly content keeping his feelings to himself. In fact, he typically refrained from going after anything he ever wanted, and he considered this an act of self-preservation. "That's not self-preservation, idiot. That's fear of rejection," reiterated Éponine for about the umpteenth time that week. (or, grantaire becomes aware of crushes. yuck.)

Eponine wasn't the only person in the Paris underworld who fancied someone they couldn't have. Details from the book, but the plotline is more closely aligned with the musical.

Javert's heart is stone, that is something he knows to be true. It was so, until he makes the promise that he will look after the child of a dying woman. It is the beginning of the collapse of what Javert had always regarded as true.

AU: What if after Fantine died, Javert came prepared when he came to re-arrested Valjean and caught him off guard? Will Valjean look after Cosettle? Or will he be stuck with Javert instead? (ON HOLD. Being rewritten)

The OG story that was here I didn't like so I changed it and love it way more. This is the story of how Enjolras fell in love and Éponine starts to love someone else. The story might have some added content later, but as for now this is all I've got. Hope you enjoy!
