Traveling along the plains, Leo and Rain kept on their way to the town where the scholar lived. Each of them both thinking of the pendant and what it's purpose could be.

"So what do this pendant is about?" asked Rain, patting the bag on his belt the pendant was stashed away in.

"I'm not sure." answered Leo "If it is something to do with water maybe it has something to do with the Sacred Lake."

"Bah!" blurted Rain "That's only a myth!"

"Maybe... but my master told me when I was young that he had seen this lake. He would never lie."

"Hmm. Even if this Sacred Lake existed what connection would it have to a pendant, that I remind you, was wrapped around the neck of a witch?"

"I don't know." sighed Leo "But I will find out."

"You're quite determined, I'll give you that."

On a hill, far from where Rain and Leo were, the Shadow Assassins, led by Ixnus watched as the two turtles rode along.

"There they are." said one of the assassins, taking the box from the pouch on his belt "We should set them free now."

"No." commanded Ixnus, before the assassin could open the box "Let them ride a bit longer. At sundown we'll set them free."

As night fell upon the valley the heroes traveled, Rain and Leo set up camp close to the road. Leo, while he lay sleeping, had visions. Visions of his master. Visions of a steady lake, a mist surrounding it. Leo approached his master, wondering if it was only a dream or if his master had come to him from beyond.

"M-Master?"

"Come my son. Take in smell of the mist. Feel the sand and dirt beneath your feet. Let it put you at ease."

"Yes Master."

Leo breathed in and out slowly. Gathering his surroundings. Sensing his master, feeling the environment around him.

"Master..." started Leo, calmly.

"Yes my son?"

"Are... Are you really here?"

"I am with you my son."

Master Yoshi turned to slowly to face Leo. He walked towards him and placed his hand upon Leo's left shoulder.

"There are things you have still yet to learn my son."

"Teach me Master, please."

"It is not something I can teach. It is something you will need to discover on your own."

Leo looked at his Master, removing his hand from his shoulder and turning to walk away.

"Master wait." cried Leo, stretching out his right arm to grab hold of his master's robes, but touching nothing.

"Everything is not what it seems my son."

The water began grow and disappear. Master Yoshi kept walking, not looking back.

"Master..."

Leo fell to his knees, wishing his master would return to him. He closed his eyes tightly. Suddenly a light emitted, breaking the darkness. Leo lifted his head and opened his eyes to see the bright light. He began walking, hearing his master call his name.

"Leo. Leo. Leo..."

"Leo! Leo!"

Leo awoke from his sleep to find himself being shaken by Rain. Outside of the tent he saw strange black bug-like creatures flying around outside.

"We have trouble." said Rain, helping Leo to his feet and giving him his katana.

"Let's go." said Leo, stepping out into the chilled night air.

Above the two were more of the creatures, flooding the sky. Leo held his blade and swung at the creatures as they came. Rain smacked his club into their sides, knocking them out of the air. The two fought hard, as hard as they could, but it seemed every single one they took down two more took it's place.

"There's too many!" cried Rain.

"Everything is not what it seems my son."

Leo paused, remembering the voice of his master in the dream. Hearing it so clearly and loudly. Leo looked away from the swarm surrounding and saw a hill in the distance. Upon the hill was his master's murderer, holding in his hands an open black box. Leo turned back to the swarm as they dived towards him. Instead of swinging at them he but stood and let them pass through him. Once realizing the fighting these creatures was a waste of time, he turned to Rain to try and calm him.

"Rain! Please stop!" yelled Leo, grabbing onto Rain's arms.

"But these creatures…"

"They won't hurt you. Fighting them only makes it worse."

Rain calmed his nerves and stopped his heavy breathing and looked at the swarm of creatures. The swarm came down and went right through him, as they did Leo.

"You're right." said Rain, not feeling scared anymore "I'm alright."

Rain and Leo then decided to take their leave, ignoring the creatures to continue on to their destination. But on the hill, Ixnus and his assassins looked on. Anger shown Ixnus' eyes. He threw the box onto the grass, turned rode off the hill with the assassins following after.
