Hey guys! Back for chapter 2, thanks for being patient. I updated sooner than I was anticipating. In this chapter, things start to get a bit more interesting and a bit more is revealed about Chase and his past. But anyway, enough spoilers, let's get straight into it!

Here's chapter 2.

"Welcome…to Destiny's Bounty."

"Woah. Wait, but how do you know who I am," Chase asked, confused.

"He's Sensei. He just knows," Kai said.

The next few hours were spent showing Chase around the bounty and introducing him to all the rooms and food and controls. Sensei Wu even introduced him to his tea stash.

Chase became very comfortable with all the people. But he was still confused on how Sensei Wu knew he was coming and was expecting him. So he asked him. "Hey, um, Sensei?"

"Yes, Chase?"

"I was wondering…how did you know I was coming earlier today?"

Sensei Wu chuckled. "Well, young one, I used a special tea of mine. While it is boiling, steam comes up. The steam allows me to see important events later in the future."

"How is my arrival here important?"

"I don't know. But it is important. We'll let time reveal that secret." Sensei grabbed a box of tea leaves and put on a pot of boiling water. "Would you like some tea?"

Chase was about to reject the offer out of his dislike for tea, but thinking that would be impolite, he accepted it. "Sure."

As Chase sipped his tea, he couldn't stop thinking about how his arrival was important. Ideas were forming in his head, ideas about how Chase knew he had special, unique abilities. Abilities he wasn't ready to admit to anyone.

The hours came and went, and the sky became dark and full of gloomy gray clouds. Rain was starting to fall.

Chase was offered dinner. After all, it was getting late. By the time he finished, the rain was pouring so hard and the fog had thickened so much that it would be like walking into white nothingness. You wouldn't even be able to see your shoes.

Nya sighed. "How did such a nice warm sunny day turn into this?"

"No idea," Jay said.

"This does not seem normal," Zane stated, shaking his head. "According to the weather forecast, this time of day was supposed to be sunny like the rest of the day, only a light drizzle was supposed to be the closest it would get to this dreadful weather."

"So, what are you suggesting, Zane?" Lloyd asked, intrigued.

"I believe that this weather is caused by an unnatural force. A dark force. Nature is rejecting its evil power, and as a result, it is giving us bad weather."

"Bad is an understatement," Kai muttered.

"How did you figure that out?" Nya asked.

"Well, when a day is very nice and sunny and within hours it becomes like this, very often it is not natural. And it's been quite a while since we've had to fight anyone. Maybe they've returned for revenge."

"Like who? I'm sure we've defeated all of them," Kai said.

"We've defeated them, not destroyed them. They could come back anytime with backup and more power."

Suddenly, lightning flashed for a second, and in that second, Chase saw a blurry flash of a young girl, around his age in his mind. Then the girl disappeared and he was left very confused.

Then the thunder came and jumped at the abrupt noise. Chase became very frightened, not only because of the awful weather conditions but also because he had just remembered what Zane was talking about. About how they haven't had to fight anyone in a long time. But who was there to fight in the first place? Were there bad guys trying to destroy the city and was the group of people he was currently sitting with the heroes? Chase felt very perplexed.

Nya stood up. "I don't think Chase should go back out in this weather."

"No, definitely not," Jay said. "We do have that spare room. He could sleep there for the night."

"Sounds like a plan."

Together, the ninja helped make the spare room into as close to a bedroom as they could get. They laid out a nice cushy sleeping mat with pillows and multiple blankets. They cleaned and dusted it to make sure no cobwebs or bugs were hiding anywhere.

Chase had few belongings. He had his knife and his current clothing, but everything else had been left in his makeshift shelter back in the forest. It was probably all wrecked by the rain by now anyway.

When the room was almost finished. Lloyd ran to his bedroom to grab something. He came back with a pair of light green pajamas.

"Take them," he said, handing over the soft pajamas. "They were mine when I was younger."

Chase had no memory of ever wearing pajamas. He looked up at Lloyd. "Thank you."

"Of course. Hopefully the weather clears up by tomorrow."

Chase got dressed and snuggled in bed. His mind was overwhelmed with thoughts. Are there bad guys waiting to attack? Who was that girl in the flash? Why is it so dreary outside? These thoughts circled in Chase's head until he finally fell asleep.

Although his body was in a state of rest, his mind wasn't. His dreams were very blurry and choppy and repetitive. His dreams showed him the girl again, and then a dark figure, then what looked like a tornado. All these flashes caused his body to exit sleeping mode. He twisted and turned and gritted his teeth, as if having these flashes was painful. And they were. But why were they appearing?

Chase jolted awake, being too overwhelmed to continue to sleep. He was coated in sweat and breathing shallowly and rapidly. He checked the old alarm clock Cole had given him.

1:08 AM.

Chase groaned and flopped back onto his pillow. He had like six more hours until everybody would be up.

For the next hour, he laid awake, trying to process everything that had just happened in his mind.

But after that hour had passed, he couldn't stand just thinking. He wanted to do something. So he got up and tip-toed to his door. He opened it slowly, careful not to wake anyone. He walked silently down the hall. The floor felt cold against his bare feet.

Chase opened the fridge and helped himself to a pudding cup. The cup was labeled with a name but he didn't see it. As he peeled off the lid, the angry face of Jay came to his mind. Confused and startled, he practically dropped his pudding cup. Chase, ignoring the image, dug in.

He scraped the cup clean before throwing it away. Chase drank some water then headed back to his room, taking care to brush his teeth before going to bed.

But he never fell asleep. He just laid down on his belly and began carving symbols. He carved the tornado he saw in his dream. Then he carved a tree. Then he carved a fox, his favorite animal. These were very random, totally different things but somehow, in his flashes, they seemed to fit for some unknown reason. They seemed like if connected, something important would happen.

Suddenly, he heard footsteps coming down the hall towards the kitchen. Chase got up and checked the time.

6:51 AM

It was around the time people would be starting to rouse. Chase opened the door and went into the kitchen. He saw that it was Kai who was up. He was checking the fridge for breakfast and pulled out a pudding cup that was labeled 'Kai'. "Hey, Chase," he said, not looking up from the fridge.

"Hi, Kai."

Soon, everyone was up and eating pudding cups. Jay was the last to wake up, being a late sleeper. When he went to the fridge to fetch his pudding cup, it wasn't there.

"Who took my pudding cup?" Jay asked.

No one responded, just looked at one another, confused.

"Who took my pudding cup?" he asked again, beginning to get irritated. "Cole?"

Cole held up his hands innocently. "Don't look at me. I didn't touch your pudding cup."

Jay's fists clenched. Chase then realized that he must have eaten Jay's pudding cup when he went to get a midnight snack. Although he felt bad, he decided not to say anything.

But then, something caught his eye. Jay was making a very angry face, the same face that Chase saw Jay making in his flash during his midnight snack. His eyebrows creased together in befuddlement. It was like he saw the future.

But how?

Thank you for reading! This chapter may have been confusing but don't worry, I'll explain everything later on. If you could review please, I'd really appreciate it. Any feedback or suggestions may also be left in the review section as well. I hope you enjoyed this chapter. More should be up soon, probably less than a week considering how fast I got this done. I'll update as soon as possible, I don't want to leave you guys in suspense for too long.

See ya in the next one.
