Hey guys! I know it hasn't been that long since I've updated, but I've had a lot of free time lately. I can't promise that when the weekends are over and school starts again, I'll update as often as I do now, but we'll see. Anyway, this chapter will be revealing more about what Chase is seeing and all that. Hope y'all enjoy!

Here's chapter 3.

Chase was still getting over the confusion of how he essentially saw into the future. He never remembered ever having such flashes like this before he came to Destiny's Bounty. Chase did have a dull idea of what was happening. Somehow, having these flashes triggered a very vague yet important memory in his mind from when he was little.

Little three-year-old Chase was playing outside while his parents were talking urgently with each other. Too young to be curious of what they were talking about, Chase bounced up and down when something happened. It felt like a ripple in time had just occurred. Too little and childish to know that was not good, he began to try and make more jolts and ripples. Unfortunately, Chase took this experiment too far and began to feel a very strong surge in time.

Suddenly, without warning everything around him began to move in a timelapse motion. He watched as the present seemed to be fast-forwarding and the future was revealing itself. It wasn't very clear, obviously, and Chase was still very young, so he had no idea what was going on.

Becoming frightened, he frantically tried to reverse the constant motion of time moving forward. Finally, after a few minutes of screaming and crying and waving his hands, he was pulled back to the present. However, Chase didn't seem the same after that. He always wondered what had happened that day and how.

That memory sparked ideas in his mind. But as Jay continued to question everyone about his pudding cup, the memory faded from his mind.

"It's fine, Jay. There are extras in the pantry," Kai said, spooning some pudding. Jay crankily went to fetch another cup of pudding.

"Alright, the sink's looking pretty full. Who's turn is it to wash dishes?" Nya asked. "Jay, I think it's your turn."

"Aw, come on!" Jay yelled, tossing his pudding cup on the counter and rolling up his sleeves.

Chase felt like he owed Jay after eating his pudding cup, even though Jay didn't know it was him. "I'll help you," Chase blurted out, not thinking about what he was saying. He instantly shut his mouth, rethinking his decision. But then he shrugged. After all, Jay did look like he needed help with his crankiness about the pudding cup and how full the sink looked with dirty dishes.

Jay's face brightened up. "Really? I could use the help."

"Yeah, no problem."

The two set to work on cleaning the dishes. Chase scrubbed them while Jay dried and put them away. Chase wanted to confess that it was him that started this whole ordeal with the pudding cup.

"Um, so, Jay," Chase started hesitantly, suddenly feeling awkward and regretting his decision.

"Yeah, Chase?" Jay responded, drying a plate. Well, there was no going back now, now that Chase had Jay's undivided attention.

"Well, you see, I'm really sorry."

"Sorry about what?"

"Well, it was me who ate your pudding cup."

Jay looked at him and raised an eyebrow. Chase shrunk under his gaze and suddenly felt scared. But Jay's expression didn't look angry, it looked more curious. "Now why would you eat my pudding cup? There are more in the pantry, you know."

"Yes, and I know that now. But I didn't see the label when I went to get a midnight snack."

"Why were you up at midnight?"

"Nightmares. Horrible, freaky, awful, confusing nightmares. They kept me awake all night." Chase shuddered.

"Oh, man. Yeah, I've had loads of experience with nightmares. You did the right thing. Midnight snacks are always a good fix." Jay winked at Chase.

"Wait, so you're not mad about the pudding cup?"

"Nah, it's just a pudding cup. Now that I know you did it, I mean. You're a kid, you didn't know any better, kid." Jay ruffled his hair playfully. "But if it was Cole, that would be another story."

Chase laughed. He looked down at the sink and realized how many more dishes he still had to clean. A look of dismay passed over his face and he sighed.

Jay, noticing his dismay and sigh, asked, "Need any help. I know, washing dishes can be a pain."

"Sure." Jay adjusted the knob on the tap to make a more powerful jet of water come from the tube. The sink was a third full with water and a lot of dishes were soaking. Both Jay and Chase reached down to pick up dishes at the same time. At this very moment, very briefly, somehow while both of their hands were touching the same water source, Chase saw something. But it didn't seem like a flash. It seemed like Jay's thoughts.

For a second, all laid out on the sink water in front of him, he saw a figure dressed in all blue with a blue mask, lightning coming from his hands. Next to him was a figure dressed in all red and a red mask, fire coming from his hands. Then it disappeared.

Chase stopped washing and was momentarily stunned.

"Hey, you okay?" Jay asked, waving a hand in front of his face.

"Did–did you see that?" Chase asked, gesturing towards the water.

Jay's eyebrows creased together. "See what?"

"In the water, I saw–something. It–never mind." Chase realized that maybe only he could see it and no one else.

Jay looked even more confused. "What'd you see?"

"It doesn't matter. Maybe I imagined it," Chase said. He knew he didn't imagine it, but he didn't want to stay on this topic any longer.

"Alright, then." Jay did think that Chase saw something, but didn't push the subject further. The two continued to wash dishes in silence.

Once they were finished, Jay went to go find Nya. He needed to talk to her about Chase. Nya was outside, training along with all the other ninja. By now, the sky had cleared up and was now cloudless and shining with sunlight.

"Hey, Nya," Jay said, walking up to her.

She didn't look at him or stop punching the bag, but she didn't ignore him. "What's up, Jay?"

"I need to talk to you. It's important."

That's when Nya stopped punching the bag and looked at him. "About what?"

"It's about Chase."

The two left the training area and went down to the little pond at the bottom of the rocky ledge that the Destiny's Bounty rested on.

They took a seat at the edge of the water. "So, what about Chase do you want to talk to me about?"

"Um, well. I was just wondering, how long are we planning on having Chase stay with us?"

"Hmmm. I don't know. He seems pretty at home here. He doesn't have a proper bedroom or anything, but he does seem to like it here. We'll see what he thinks."

"Yeah, I guess. I think this might end up kind of like the situation with Lloyd."

"What do you mean?"

"Well, when Lloyd was a little kid, we took him in. Now he lives with us. I feel like that might happen with Chase."

"Where he ends up living with us? Huh, that might happen. But Lloyd was family to Sensei Wu. And Lloyd didn't have any other family to live with."

"Neither does Chase. I think he should be welcome to live with us here."

"I don't object, I think it's a great idea. But why are you asking?"

"Well, earlier when we were washing dishes together, he just stopped for a few seconds and looked very stunned. Then he asked if I saw something. I said no. He said he saw something in the sink water. But I didn't see anything. Then, he said maybe he'd just imagined it. But I know he didn't imagine it, or else he wouldn't have had that strong of a reaction. I'm kind of worried for him."

"Huh. Was it like a creature or something that he saw in the water?"

"No, I don't think so, or else I would've seen it too."

"Well, you should go ask him about it."

"Yeah, that's probably a good idea." The two then got up and headed back to the bounty.

Chase was intrigued on finding out what he saw and why. They seemed like Jay's thoughts, but he couldn't be for sure. And if they were, why would Jay be thinking of a figure dressed in blue with lightning coming from his hands?

He decided to try his experiment on Kai, who was washing his hands in the stream flowing near the bounty. Chase joined him. As soon as Kai touched the water again, Chase did too. This caused the same thing to happen that occurred with Jay. He saw what appeared to be Kai's thoughts.

Kai, too, seemed to be thinking about figures dressed in different colors with elements coming from their hands. But in this image, there was a green one, black one, white one, and blue-gray one along with the blue and red ones. There were six in total.

This left Chase very confused. Why were Kai and Jay both thinking of essentially the same thing?

Just then, Kai's hands left the water and his thoughts disappeared. But Chase was still thinking and trying to analyze both Jay's and Kai's thoughts. They fit somehow. Both of the thoughts must have been memories. But in order for thoughts to be memories, the thing had to happen.

Then, something clicked. Those figures that were in Kai and Jay's thoughts were the famous heroes of Ninjago city. The ninja.

Chase's brow crinkled in puzzlement. Then a thought came to him, a very realistic, possible thought.

Was the crew he was currently staying with the famous heroes of Ninjago city?

Were they… the ninja?
