Summary: With Jack gone the crew must find a way to bring him back. Rose and Elizabeth are separated from one another. Rose and James are reunited but how will their love fair in the world crumbling around them? Book 3 of Elder Swann Sister.

Authoress Note: Welcome to Book 3 of The Elder Swann Sister. It's been a long time coming to finally get to this book. And I'm excited to show you guys what is to come in this book. We have a long way to go in this book, but I am excited to show you guys what I am about to do. So this will be a fun part of the story. I hope that you guys will enjoy this next book of The Elder Swann Sister. I'm going to try to make my ramblings less for this part of the story so it's not a long intro to the story. Without further ado Chapter 1 of Tortured.

Chapter 1

Elizabeth looked at her sister with a concerned gaze. "Are you sure that you want to do this?" She asked softly, grabbing Rose's hands with her own.

Rose looked into her sister's brown eyes. "I'm sure. You'll be safe with the others."

"What about you?"

"Elizabeth, you still have Will…"

"You don't know if James made it or not…"

"That's exactly it… I don't know…" Rose said softly touching her sister's cheeks softly with her hands. "I'll be alright."

PIRATES

Rose slowly moved a small boat through the gloom that was over the water with a long pole. "The bell has been raised from its watery grave… do you hear its sepulchral tone? A call to all, pay heed the squall." She carefully got onto the dock before tying the bowline. "And turn your sails towards home. Yo ho, haul together." She stopped singing for a moment and busied herself with the line, retying it as Mercer and some East India Company men walked past her. She took a breath through her nose as she went back to singing her song. "Raise the colors high. Heave ho…."

"Thieves and beggars, never say we die." A man sang coming out of the darkness with other men. "Dangerous song to be singing, for any who are ignorant of its meaning. Particularly a woman. Particularly a woman alone."

"What makes you think she's alone?" Barbossa questioned coming out of the shadows.

The guards turned to see Barbossa standing there.

Huang straightened himself up, narrowing his eyes at Barbossa. "You protect her."

Rose moved quickly, putting her knife against Huang's throat. "What makes you think I need protection?" She hissed through her teeth, her eyes narrowing.

"Your master is expecting us." Barbossa gave Rose a pointed look. "And an unexpected death would cast a slight pall on our meeting."

Rose lowered her knife and pushed Huang away from her.

"You're Captain Barbossa."

"Aye. And she be Rose Swann. And Sao Feng has promised us safe passage."

Huang turned to lead them away but stopped holding his hand up.

East India company agents went past them.

Huang gestured for them to follow him and led them towards a huge sewer pipe.

Rose walked with Barbossa her steps light as they walked to the bath house. She had to admit that she was rather nervous about this whole thing. She could only hope that this wasn't a mistake in leaving the crew to join them later after talking to Sao Feng. "Have we heard anything from Will?" She questioned Barbossa softly.

"The whelp is more than capable of taking care of himself. But you, in the presence of Sao Feng, you'll be wanting to show a bit more diffidence that is your custom."

"He's that terrifying?"

"He's much like myself, absent my merciful nature and sense of fair play."

Rose pursed her lips at the thought. So he wasn't a very polite man unlike others that she had met. She knew that she was going to have to be careful and hope that Will would be able to get what they needed without being caught.

Huang stopped barring the both of them from entering. "No weapons. Remove them, please."

"Of course." Barbossa said with a nod of his head.

The two of them lose their pistols and swords.

Huang held up his hand stopping Rose. He gestured to the heavy coat that she wore. "Did you think because she is a woman, we would not suspect her of treachery?"

"When you put it that way…"

"Remove please."

Rose took a breath and removed her coat and handed it to Huang.

He revealed two swords hidden in scabbards in the lining. He once again stopped them. He smiled at Rose. "Remove. Please."

Rose felt anger swell inside of her chest, but did as she was told.

We're going to be going onto the second part of this chapter which I decided to split into two to make sure that the chapters got what they were well deserved.
