Disclaimer: I don't own Pirates of the Caribbean Dead Man's Chest. I do own Bonnie Sparrow and Morgan Sparrow.

Authoress Note: We are now onto the next part of the Sparrow's Daughter Series. I have to admit that I had this planned for a while now of her leaving Port Royal since the last book ended with her being in Port Royal to learn a bit about James, but she was never meant to stay. Perhaps she might change the way that James thinks in this movie. Or perhaps she won't be able to. I haven't quite decided just yet on it. But I hope that you all will enjoy this story. Please keep in mind that what Morgan did in the last story doesn't solidify her feelings for James. She isn't with him or anything. She was just trying to learn the best in figuring out what the other life was about since she's been on the sea all her life. Anyways. I hope that you guys enjoy this next installment of Sparrow's Daughter. Without further ado Chapter 1.

Chapter 1

Morgan was at the wheel deck with Gibbs who had a lantern in his hand singing. Morgan shook her head lightly knowing that Gibbs was fairly drunk off of rum.

"Fifteen men on a dead man's chest, yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum… Drink and devil had done for the rest ... yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!" He took a swig of rum as he staggered a few feet, avoiding several drunken, sleeping crew members. He took another large drink, his head brought back looking up into the sky.

Bonnie came out of the captain's corridors and moved up to the wheel deck. She saw Gibbs stumbling around the other drunkards trying to avoid stepping on them. She came over to her daughter with a concerned look upon her face. "Mogan."

Morgan blinked her hazel eyes a few times, turning her head slightly to look at her mother. "What?" She questioned as she held onto the wheel with her lips pinched together in a thin line.

"I never questioned you in the last year since returning to us." Bonnie admitted softly as she looked at her daughter. "But I'm worried about ye." She hated to admit that she was worried about her daughter who was now around the age of 20.

Morgan let out a soft hum as she let out a soft breath closing her hazel eyes, she knew that her mother was worried about why she had returned. She hadn't stayed all that long in Port Royal. "I know you want to ask." She pointed out looking over at her blonde haired blue eyed mother.

"Am I allowed to?" She questioned her brow raising slightly wondering if her daughter would answer with truth or lie to try and keep things calm.

Morgan nodded her head slowly knowing that her mother was concerned.

"You left Port Royal… you didn't stay all that long… was it because of Commodore Norrington following us?"

Morgan took a soft breath. "Too many frills." Morgan said, clicking her tongue against her teeth. "It wasn't because of James."

Bonnie's brow raised slightly. "It's not because of James?"

Morgan shook her head lightly. "Women wearing frilly and tight gowns I'll never understand. The life…" She took a breath looking over at her mother. "As much as I would like a normal life… I think piracy is in my blood."

"It's in your blood more than you think." Bonnie admitted softly. "With both your grandfathers in piracy as well… and your parents. You would always be a pirate no matter what yer did."

Morgan let out a soft breath.

"I know that you were looking for love…"

"All in the wrong places." Morgan muttered softly as she turned to see Marty and Leech help Jack over the rail as Cotton and his parrot looked on. She moved down to the lower deck with her mother to see her father.

"Not quite according to plan." Gibbs said as he looked at Jack.

"Complications arose, ensued, were overcome." Jack muttered as he fixed the hat upon his head.

"You got what you went in after, then?"

Jack wiggled a folded strip of cloth victoriously, but moved away quickly.

Gibbs peered at the cloth and hurried after Jack. "Captain, I think the crew - meaning me as well - were expecting something a bit more ... shiny."

Jack almost walked into Leech, who was standing in his path, his arms folded.

The rest of the crew drifted over, surrounding their captain, not threatening, but not friendly to their captain either.

"What with Isla de Muerta going all pear-shaped, reclaimed by the sea, and the treasure with it -"

Bonnie snapped her eyes narrowing her eyes at Gibbs. "Isla de Muerta deserves where it went. Everything there was cursed." Bonnie snapped causing Gibbs to shrink back.

"And the Royal Navy chasing us all around the Atlantic -" Leech said, narrowing his eyes at Jack.

"And the hurricane!" Marty snapped, not liking the idea that they had to go around a hurricane to keep them safe.

"All in all, it's been some time since we've done a spec of honest piratin'." Gibbs said, shaking his head.

"Shiny." Jack said, eyeing Gibbs.

"Aye. Shiny."

"Is that how you're all feeling? That I'm not serving your interests as Captain?"

There was an awkward silence over the crew.

"Walk the plank!" Cotton's parrot said, breaking the awkward silence.

Jack pulled his pistol out aiming it right at Cotton's parrot, his eyes narrowed. "What did the bird say?"

"Don't blame the bird. Just show us what's on that piece of cloth you got there." Leech said, crossing his arms firmly.

Jack looked at the cloth considering his response.

Jack the monkey skeletal in the moonlight swung down out of the rigging, screeching at Jack.

Jack screamed back as the monkey grabbed the cloth and ran. Jack fired his pistol at it and it didn't work. He grabbed the pistol from Leech's belt, firing his gun, blowing the monkey back, dropping the cloth.

"You know that doesn't do any good." Gibbs said, shaking his head.

"Keeps my aim sharp."

Marty grabbed the cloth before it blew away.

The crew examined it.

Marty turned revealing the rough drawing. "It's a key."

"Better." Jack said, taking it and displaying it. "It's a drawing of a key." Jack waited a moment. He let out a breath as the crew didn't show any excitement.

"Gentlemen, what do keys do?" Bonnie snapped, causing the men to break from their silence.

"They unlock things?" Leech questioned his answer.

"And whatever this unlocks, inside is something valuable! So we're setting out to find whatever this unlocks." Gibbs said thinking.

"No. If we don't have the key, we can't open whatever it unlocks, so what purpose would be served in finding whatever needs be unlocked without first having found the key that unlocks it? Honestly. Ninny."

"So we're going to find this key?"

"What good is a key if we have nothing for the key to unlock? Please, try and keep up!"

The crew began to consider it and then shrugged, nodding their heads.

"So - do we have a heading?" Marty questioned hopeful that they had a heading.

"Aye! A heading!" Jack turned away, flipping open his compass. He studied it and shook it angeling it, then shot his arm out the opposite way. "Set sail in a general ... that way direction."

Gibbs blinked a few times. "Captain?"

"I'll plot our course later."

The crew hesitated.

"Snap to and make sail! You know how it works!" He said, striding towards his cabin.

Bonnie let out a soft breath following her husband into his cabin.

The crew turned to their tasks, but were not happy with how the captain was acting.

"Have you noticed lately, the Captain seems to be acting a bit - strange?" Marty noticed Gibbs' look. "Er?"

"Aye. Something's got Jack vexed, setting a course without knowing his own heading. Trust me ... what bodes ill for Jack Sparrow bodes ill for us all." Gibbs said softly.

Morgan cleared her throat, narrowing her eyes at the two men. "I'd watch ye say."

Gibbs swallowed the lump in his throat knowing that Morgan Sparrow was ruthless since returning to the Pearl. She wasn't the same girl that had been with the crew before they had left Port Royal and she stayed only for a few days. He didn't know what happened, but it concerned him a lot to not know what happened to the young woman.

This is the end of Chapter 1 of No Shelter. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. I actually got ahead in writing for the next part of the series. I was actually rather excited to write this out since the reviews for the last story kind of helped me out with my muse. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. What do you think happened while she was in Port Royal? Did she leave because of the Frilly dresses like she said or do you all think she left because of James going after her family? I hopefully will update next week. Until next time.
