"G-Good morning," Raemis greeted.

The group quickly got into a fighting stance. None of them had their gear with them, most of them were still in night clothes bar Darkness, who was wearing her casual outfit.

"A demon!" Aqua exclaimed, readying her hand to cast a spell.

"W-What are you doing here?!" Megumin stumbled, "H-How do you know where we live?!"

"O-Oh! I asked the nice lady at the guild, the receptionist,"

"She took one good look at you and told you where we lived?!" Megumin replied in shock.

"She didn't see me, s-she looked busy,"

"This lady!"

"..."

"S-so why are you here?" Darkness asked, nervously stepping between the party and Raemis.

"I u-uh um," Raemis was looking down at the ground, her face adorned with a crimson blush, her feet shifting nervously. "I-I need to m-m-m-marry Kazuma!"

"..."

"EHHHHH?!"

Aqua set a cup of tea in front of Raemis as they all sat at the dinner table. The group was dressed in their normal adventuring clothes, excluding Darkness. Megumin clenched her staff tightly with both her hands as she sat, and Darkness kept her hand close to her blade, ready to strike at any moment. They both squeezed Kazuma by leaning towards him while they glared at Raemis who sat at the other end of the table.

"Thank you for the tea,"

"You're welcome, evilspawn,"

Raemis took a sip of the drink, trying to avoid the glares of everyone in the room.

"So… why do I have to marry you?" Kazuma asked, leaning back in his chair as he crossed his arms.

"Well…" Raemis whispered, taking another sip. "Y-you touched my horn, a-and according to tradition, I need to marry the first man to touch my horns…"

"Why?"

"Well my h-horns are…" Raemis began to blush and avoid eye contact. "They're e-e-egregious zones…"

"..."

Kazuma began to sweat, suddenly feeling like it got a lot colder all of a sudden.

"Hey Kazuma…" Darkness and Megumin both said in an icy cold glare.

"How was I supposed to know! And I'll have you know we would have gotten out of that fight if I didn't do that!"

Kazuma threw himself onto the floor and began to bow to Raemis.

"I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry,"

"No, it's a-alright,"

"Please forget this ever happened and marry a better man than me,"

"There's no better man than you Kazuma. And even if I wanted to…"

"W-What is it?"

"You see, the first hand to touch my horn gets imprinted, you see," Raemis pointed to her left horn. Kazuma got up and looked closer. Sure enough he could see his hand print glowing a soft golden yellow where he had gripped it the day before. It was barely noticeable, but still visible to the naked eye.

"With this mark, no man will ever marry me…"

Kazuma stared a Raemis, her hands formed into fists on her lap, her eyes were beginning to water as her face glowed a soft crimson. She sniffed as Kazuma formed a group huddle with his party.

"What do we do?!" Kazuma hissed.

"I don't know, this is so confusing!" Megumin hissed back.

"Kazuma, as a holy Goddess, I can't allow you to marry a demon!"

"Well, what do you think I should do!"

"You could try to just say no," Darkness suggested.

"You heard her, the horns, and the mark! And besides I feel a little guilty…"

"Well she deserves it, she almost killed Darkness and I!"

They turned to look at Raemis, who was currently trying her hardest to hold back her tears as she stared into her lap.

"Great, now I'm starting to feel bad…" Megumin whispered.

"Maybe we can just let her stick around…" Darkness suggested, "But no marriage!"

"I'm not entirely opposed to this idea…" Kauzma pondered as Megumin nodded in agreement, "It'll definitely give us more time to figure something out,"

"I still don't like that we'll be living with a demon," Aqua objected.

"Aqua, I'll give you some extra allowance for as long as she's here," Kazuma offered.

"Deal,"

The group broke the huddle, walking over to the demon.

"Raemis," Kazuma called, getting her attention as she looked up, still a little teary eyed. "We've agreed to let you stay here for now, BUT no marriage for now,"

"T-that's fine! In fact that would be nice, I'm currently homeless…"

Kazuma felt even more guilty by the minute. "Anyway, we should show you around the house since you're gonna be here for awhile,"

"Oh! That sounds fun!" Raemis exclaimed, immediately perking up with a smile. "Thanks for the tea, by the way" she said as she turned to Aqua, handing her the empty cup. "It was just warm water however…"

"This will be your room," Kazuma explained as he opened the door and walked in, the group following except Aqua, who had left for work."It's empty right now but I'm sure we can furnish it in the future,"

"I love it!" Raemis exclaimed, running in. It's like my own palace, darling!"

"Darling?!" Megumin and Darkness reacted.

"So you have anything you need to bring or…" Kazuma asked as he grabbed a broom to sweep all the dust that had piled up in the unused room.

"Nah, I only have the clothes on my back,

.

.

.

.

And you darling~~"

"Raemis, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get that new cloak?" A slightly ticked off Darkness asked, finding a second broom and beginning to help Kazuma.

"Oh, I stole it," the group glared at Raemis as she began to start sweating nervously. "I-I had to cover up that I was a demon somehow! Or else I would be attacked left and right! And I don't have any money anyway…"

Kazuma left the room, returning with a small pouch a few seconds later. "Pay back whoever you stole the cloak from, it's partially my fault you lost your old one,"

"You're sooo cool, Darling,"

"This is the bath, feel free to use it anytime," Kazuma explained.

"Wooooooow, it's so big, cooool,"

"I'll have you know, Kazuma and I have had many baths together here!" Megumin boasted, hands on her hips with a sumg look on her face.

"D-don't tell her that!"

"I-I've had a many baths with K-Kazuma too!" Darkness stumbled out, trying not to be outdone by her rival.

"That barely counts!"

"Darling, you really get around! I hope you bathe with me too!"

"Stop calling me that! And no!"

"That's about it, I think," Kazuma explained, rubbing the back of his head as they walked back into the living room.

"Your house is like, super cool," Raemis said, admiring the fire I the fireplace as it burned, warming up the house on the cold winter day. "All this walking around got me so hot!"

Raemis took off her cloak, revealing the same outfit she wore yesterday as she set the cloak down onto the sofa that faced the fireplace. Kazuma couldn't help but steal a few glances at her as she fanned her face with her hand. Raemis noticed Kazuma's gaze and smirked at him.

"You can stare all you want darling! I don't mind,"

Megumin and Darkness shot Kazuma a nasty look as he decided that the chair beside him suddenly looked very interesting.

"Raemis, shouldn't you cover up more?" Darkness asked, still glaring at Kazuma as he decided to just outright leave the room to avoid the situation.

"Nah, I can't move around as good if I wear more clothes," Raemis confidently stated, one hand on her hip as she gave Darkness a toothy grin. "Also I don't own any other clothes!"

"I don't think it's about agility, it's just that…" Megumin whispered, looking at Raemis' body.

"Hmm? What was that?"

"No, forget it…" Megumin sighed as she trudged out, defeated.

"Would you like something to eat? I can prepare something if you would like," Darkness asked as she walked to the kitchen.

"That would be great, thanks!" Raemis replied, following her in.

The two sat at the dinner table, enjoying their simple sandwiches that Darkness had made.

"Please forgive me, Raemis. I'm afraid I'm not as capable of a cook as Kazuma,"

Raemis looked a little nervous as she took a sizable bite of her food.

"Raemis is something bothering you?" Darkness asked as she set down her cup of water.

"O-oh! Y-You noticed…" Raemis bashfully said, rubbing the back of her head and she avoided eye contact by looking down at the table.

"Look, I've been feeling really guilty about hurting you back there, when we fought," the demon looked up at Darkness, who had quite the perplexed look on her face. "I'm sorry! One thing led to another and I lost control, please forgive me!"

"I-It's all right, Raemis, please don't worry yourself about it," Darkness replied. "Besides, it gave me a chance to snuggle up against Kauzma," she thought to herself.

"Y-you really mean it? Thanks Darkness!" Raemis said in a relieved tone as she took a large bite out of her sandwich. "It's just, when I saw Kazuma, I just felt like, I had to show him my strength, you know. Really impress him,"

"I-I see,"

"Kazuma's so cool…"

"Raemis, if you don't mind me asking, where are you from? I feel like I would have heard of someone as strong as you,"

"Oh, I'm not from around here. I used to work for the demon king but I quit,"

"..."

"Well quit is maybe to the wrong term, it's more like, ran away,"

"Eh?"

"It was so boring, you know? And he would always send all these nobodies instead of me after Kazuma,"

"Eh?"

"So I got up and left! Hehe,"

"Please excuse me for a second, Raemis," Darkness politely asked as she got up and left the room. As soon as she was out of sight she quickly began to speed walk as fast as she could to Kazuma's room.

"K-Kazuma you should know about something," Darkness stated as she opened the door.

"D-Darkness!" Kazuma cried as he turned to look at her.

With Megumin in his arms, and her lips on his face.
