Rainy days were the day to make cookies, and Cat and Marinette had made it into a sort of tradition. Marinette was glad that Cat was getting at least some baking skills, and she could supervise his paw from going in the cookie jar.

"Cat, you have the milk?" she asked, and Cat shut the fridge door. A milk mustache donned his cute face and Marinette giggled. "So that's why you took so long getting out the milk. Come on, we need milk for the bowl. What those glasses on the counter for?" "Measuring milk for my tummy," Cat sighed happily. "Kitty, its supposed to be for the cookies. You don't want a dry chocolate chip cookie do you?"

Cat pulled a face, bounding over and pouring in the last of the milk. "Don't worry, I have an extra container to go with the cookies. Now, if you get out the spoon, you can one lick before going in the oven." "Aw, just one lick?" "Just one."

They shared a spoonful and Cat helped scoops the cookie balls onto the baking sheet. "Did your mother like to bake?" Marinette asked as she slid the tray into the oven. A blast of cozy heat came into the kitchen.

"When she had time," Cat answered. "But her real love was gardening. If I ever have my own place, I'm going to have a flower garden." Cat sighed, looking out the liquid rain. "Filled with bluebells and catnip, right, Kitten?"

Cat blushed, taking both of her hands. "Half of it would be yours, Princess. You mean the world to mean." "Aw, Kitty. You'll always be my best friend."

He was the one who made her laugh, give the best hugs on the hard days, and was her shoulder to cry on.

The room begin to smell good, and Marinette could hear Cat's stomach growled, and she laughed as she watched his tail swish in anticipation. "Now, I know you want to eat them as soon as they come out of the oven, but that means burnt paws and owies." "You'd kiss them better in no time," Cat grinned.

When Marinette set the tray on the counter, she walked over to her best friend, cuddling up for a hug. "I love you, Cat," she whispered. Cat cupped her cheek, pulling her close. "How about a little kiss while we wait?" she nodded, warm and happy.

As much as Cat loved cookies, it was Marinette's company he craved. Soon, they were munching on delicious cookies with milk, and to Cat this was perfect way to spend the day.
