1st Chapter is up!
I don't own any copyright, movie right, or characters to any POA Movies or the Show. But the lead human female OC to this story is mine.
This story takes place in the Planet of the Apes T.V. Series Timeline. As mentioned in the summary, this will be a Galen/Human Female OC Story.
Enjoy :)
April 25, 2024
Wildwood, New Jersey
It was a beautiful Spring Day in late April.
Many people were out and about enjoying the lovely weather. Kids emptied from the school that afternoon in smiles, counting down the last few weeks of school until Summer Break. In which case, there weren't that many left.
Among one of the people who left earlier that afternoon along with the students, was a young woman who worked as an Instructional Aide in one of the Second Grade Classrooms.
She entered her car and drove straight home.
She rolled down the windows to enjoy the soft warm breeze as she drove down the road towards her home. Blossoming Cherry Blossom trees lined this one road in particular, giving it a rather beautiful look as each tree was adorned with bright pink little blossoms.
Thankfully, it was only a fifteen-minute commute and there wasn't much traffic on the road. So, she made it back home around 3:35pm.
The young woman pulled into the driveway and got out. She went in with one thing on her mind; put everything away, prep lunch for tomorrow, and then change into lighter clothes.
Then she wanted to go back out and enjoy the warmer weather for the rest of the afternoon.
She finished everything quickly. Then went into her bedroom to change. She pulled on a lilac-colored tank top and olive-green cargo capris. She then slipped on her sneakers and tied her long, dark brown hair back into a ponytail.
Before leaving her room, she grabbed her phone, speaker, air pods, boxing gloves, and hand wraps.
She walked down one of the halls of her small ranch home and through the small kitchen to a door on the other side. The door lead to her garage.
She walked in and set her stuff down not far from the heavy bag off to the side near the back right corner.
Before starting her short routine on the bag, she connected the small speaker via Bluetooth to her iPhone and tapped into her iTunes library and hit shuffle.
Tunes started to filter around the garage as she wrapped the hand wraps around her hands, before pulling on her black Everlast gloves.
The petite young woman than let her mind drift to the music and started. She got into a fighting stance and placed her arms up close to her sides and face in a guarded position.
From there, she started throwing her first round of hits, starting with a right jab.
Sometimes I need to remember just to breathe
Sometimes I need you to stay away from me
Sometimes I'm in disbelief, I didn't know
Somehow I need you to go
She slipped into a jab, cross, hook combo as the lyrics continued to play. After the fluid punches, she did a small duck with a bob and a weave before side stepping to her left.
Don't stay
Forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
What you were changing me into
(Just give me myself back and)
Don't stay
Forget our memories
Forget our possibilities
Take all your faithlessness with you
(Just give me myself back and)
Don't stay
She then threw a right roundhouse kick to the heavy bag, making it sway a little in its spot. Before snapping her left leg out for a front kick. Then she stalled the bag once more before giving a quick spin on her foot and landed a back spin kick to the bag.
Sometimes I feel like I trusted you too well
Sometimes I just feel like screaming at myself
Sometimes I'm in disbelief, I didn't know
Somehow I need to be alone
This routine continued for about fifteen to twenty minutes. Within that time, she alternated between punches, kicks, elbows, and knees putting her mix martial arts skills to use.
Once she was satisfied she gotten enough in, she slowed down to a stop. Then started to pull off her gloves.
Afterwards, she turned off her speaker and took everything back inside the house. She put everything back before grabbing a pair of aviator sunglasses.
The young woman retreated back into the kitchen afterwards and grabbed a glass and down some water.
Once she finished, she approached her front door, and exited the house to start her walk to a lake not far from her property. She put in her air pods and connected them to her phone and tapped on the iTunes App again to go back into her library to start back up her music again.
Then she proceeded to leave her property and headed out.
She loved that the days were gradually getting longer again. It meant more time able to spend outside in the sun. Something that was harder to do in the winter.
Her light blue eyes scanned the surroundings as she walked by. It took her a small handful of minutes to bypass her neighborhood to get to a wooded path that led to and around a large lake.
After about ten minutes, she finally got to the beginning of the path that led into the woods of the very large park.
Her pace gradually slowed as she stepped onto the dirt path. Then began to head in.
Many of the trees were budding already and starting to fill in above the somewhat narrow path. She almost wished she had brought her camera with her to take pictures of the beautiful magnolia and cherry blossom trees.
But her phone would have to do for now.
She only stopped to take a couple of pics, opting to keep walking instead. The long trail branched out in three different directions. One veered off to the left. While the two others somewhat veered off to the center and then the right.
The young woman decided to take the one on the right. Seeing as it was the longest path there. It was also the one closest to the large lake that was roughly another quarter of a mile ahead of the trail to the right of it.
She continued on for another ten minutes or so. Surprised to see there really wasn't anyone on the trail. In fact, she has yet to see another person coming down the path.
'Odd, usually I'll see at least a couple people on these paths. But it almost seems deserted.' She thought.
She was walking for maybe another three minutes before something suddenly started feeling off to her. She stopped in her tracks and started to look around.
She slowly pulled her air pods out of her ears and put them back in their tiny port, before stuffing it back into her back pocket.
The young woman looked around for several seconds before something strange started to occur. As she looked through the canopy of trees above her, she noticed that the sky shifted from its clear blue color and started to darken.
Then what was hardly a breeze before, started to pick up. The wind started to twirl around her, ruffling her ponytail, and making the branches sway and shake back and forth.
She started to get nervous as the wind became stronger. It started to toss the leafy branches around angrily above her. The sky had darkened to a dark grey in color.
Flashes of light started to streak through the darkness.
She was quite surprised, nowhere on the weather app or news did anyone mention the possibility of a storm today. They all stated it was supposed to be a beautiful sunny day today from sunup to sundown.
Yet, in her gut, something about this storm just didn't seem...normal. It was like it appeared very quickly out of nowhere.
The wind was blowing so harshly now, her hair was whipping her neck and the sides of her face. It even nearly knocked her off of her feet at one point.
Then that's when something very strange and scary actually did start to happen.
Thunder and lightning violently clashed through the sky above her. But what was odd, is that it was all happening fairly low to the Earth. With a lot of these strikes appearing to zig zag just above the treetops.
It was starting to freak her out the longer she stunned there, stunned.
Suddenly, it looked like the strikes appeared to be zig zagging lower and lower through the trees and getting dangerously close to her position.
'THE HELL!?' Her mind screamed as she watched the lightning strikes start streaking through the tree branches now.
There was no way a phenomenon like this was normal. Why the hell are they coming down that low and how is it that none of these strikes appear to be hitting any of the trees!?
Fear and adrenaline started to course through her. That's what it took to snap her out of her fer induced gaze and made her turn around to start running.
A part of her knew it was futile to do so. She was out in the middle of the woods and not near any house or building that she could duck into for safety.
But she couldn't just continue to stand there either and wait for whatever happened next.
She maybe only got about fifteen feet away before the wind abruptly knocked her back. It was strong enough to send her to the ground on her back.
When she landed flat on her back, her gaze was quickly averted above and behind her to see something very strange and scary happening.
The lightning strikes were zooming in now only mere feet from the ground.
One zipped right over her body as she laid there, causing her to yelp in surprise and curl up. There was a bright flash of light and a crashing sound.
When her wide, scared eyes peaked over her arm, she saw something that she is sure no one ever saw before.
The strikes were clashing with each other and making this bright light then started to expand. The light was shimmering, and appeared to be making an oval shape as it went.
The bright electrifying oval was getting bigger and bigger as more bolts of lightning fed into it.
She got up on her hands and knees and started to back pedal further away from this strange expanding ball of light. To her, it looked like something out of some alien Sci-fi movie.
Her heart rate started to pick up as she clumsily backtracked. Then the craziest thing started to happen. She found herself suddenly getting pulled or sucked in.
Soon, she was being dragged along the dirt path and to her horror, towards this bright bursting ball of light. It was quite large now too, about the size of a large doorway.
She wanted to scream, but it seemed like no voice left her throat as she continued being pulled. She turned around and started to claw at the dirt ground.
It was sadly proving futile though. Tears started to roll down her cheeks, before they were blown off by the aggressive, howling wind.
Not a few more seconds later, she was lifted off the ground and thrown backwards. That was when an ear-piercing scream finally left her.
She was thrown back towards this light and as she entered into it, a weird sensation started to surround her. It was hard to describe, but kind of felt like a sensation of floating yet sinking at the same time.
Her body twisted and turned and rolled as she went through. What lasted only a mere several seconds, felt like hours before she landed harshly on her back once more onto solid ground.
She gasped as the wind was knocked out of her from her rough landing.
It took her about a minute to gather her bearings, before she very slowly sat up. She felt a bit sore still from the landing, but as she cautiously moved her arms and legs, it at least felt like nothing was broken.
She even carefully pressed her fingers into her back, ribs, sides, and fronts to see if anything felt broken or loose.
The young woman let out a small sigh of relief when she realized she really didn't feel injured in anyway. But the relief slowly morphed into confusion as she started to look around her.
She was in the woods. But...she didn't recognize this part of the woods at all.
She had lived in Wildwood all her life and had been to that park since she was little. So, she knew just about every inch of it. Yet, as she continued looking around, it didn't take her long to realize that she was no longer in the park.
'Where the fuck am I!?' She thought.
At this time, she didn't realize she wasn't alone there.
A pair of eyes watched in disbelief from behind a small nearby clutter of trees and bushes. They couldn't believe what they had just seen themselves.
It was bad enough that they couldn't figure out how they ended up here, but at least they still knew it was their ship that brought them here.
But this woman...they literally just saw her suddenly appear.
There was a bright flash of swirling light with lightning mixed in. It was bright enough that they had to close their eyes momentarily. Then they heard a thump on the grass followed by a sharp, loud intake of air.
Once the brightness quickly died down, they opened their eyes to see a young woman on the ground not twenty feet away from their position in a small opening in the woods.
They saw her slowly sit up and began to look around. They could see shock in confusion in her face.
After a moment, the young woman finally started to stand up. She was a little shaky at first, but managed. She took a couple steps and started to frantically look around now.
She was about to open her mouth to shout to see if anyone was nearby. But before she could, she heard a voice from several feet behind her.
"Miss are you alright?" Came a man's voice.
Yep, I left it a cliff hanger. Sorry, if the first chapter of this story seems rather weak. This is my first Planet of the Apes Fic. My OC is not an astronaut, so, it was pretty difficult to find a thorough way of explaining how she would come to find herself stranded here on futuristic Earth in this Universe. Not only that, but she is also from our reality, so not only was she catapulted into the future but into another reality altogether.
P.S. The lyrics to the song in this chapter don't belong to me. The yrics and song rights belong exclusively to the awesome band, Linkin Park. The song is called 'Don't Stay'. It's the second track off of their CD 'Meteora'.
