Star Wars: The United Terran Federation

Chapter 1: Prologue

35 BBY / March 2056

In Hyperspace, Inwrought to an unknown system,

Southern edge of the Unknown Regions

Republic Corvette: The Next Star

POV (Captain Dean Cor, Republic Corvette: The Next Star)

Captain Dean Cor was pacing on the bridge of his ship, The Next Star, and stared out at the stars around him. It was almost surreal, if not for the boring mission at hand. Dean, a native of the republic planet of Corellia, had been sent as aid in a research mission conducted by the Republic to attempt to find new planets within the Unknown Regions, more precisely the southern edge.

He also had a side job of letting someone know back on his home world of Corellia if by chance they found smoothing valuable, before the competition found out.

The Corellian Engineering Corporation, the primary ship manufacturing corporation on Corellian and their subsidiaries had contacted him through his brother, who by chance was one of the foreman's at the main branch.

Ever since the Trade Federation and the other businesses under their control, expanded their business and influence in the outer rim, hard time's had fallen on the industrial planet with some of the smaller companies either closing down or being bought out by the Federation.

When the bigger companies of Corellia found out about his mission, they approached him with a proposal. He helps them get some new business and help out his planet.

He thought of himself as what could be considered as a patriot to Corellia. Going into the unknown to discover new resources for his home and protecting it from the economical tyranny of the Neimoidians and their Trade Federation.

Best of all, he was even given a few credits as a 'bonus' persuasion to the noble case. As well as the extra 'bonus' he would get every time he reported something back. However, he learned early in life that big money didn't come easily. Even more so in the unknown region.

This was not going to be an easy feat though, the chances of finding new planets, with life at that were slim. The odds were even worse when it came to the fact that they were looking in unknown regions. Black hole, spatial anomalies, pirates and many more unknowns which would be best to be never known. To make matters worse, out of all the areas they had ventured, they only found one planet, and it had such a poisonous atmosphere, that it was just not worth it.

With the fifth month coming to an end, the Senate had begun to start cutting their losses and started to oppose the mission and were beginning to take steps to cut funding to the project.

When the Captain Heard the news, he was somewhat relieved. With the mission coming to a conclusion, he would be able to finally go back home to his wife and their soon to be born son. Though he was sorry for the lead Republic Scientist, Kayla Mondon, who had taken most of her life, to get the funding for this mission (as well as any extra paycheck from the CFC). However, the woman had refused to give up. The crew's morale was low for the mission as it was, however, she pushed on. Maybe their efforts would prevail before the funding would be cut. However, only time would tell, but there was not much time left either.

POV (Republic Scientist, Kayla Mondon)

Kayla Mondon, the Lead Republic Scientist, laid in her bed, with tears in her eyes. It had been a stressful few week's on her, the Republic had threatened to cut funding on the project she worked his life for. 5 months, they had been searching for 5 months without anything, but that poisonous rock they found a few weeks back.

As days pass, she remembers when she was a young girl, she looked at the bright lights with her father in the vast grass plains on her home planet of Naboo. How he would name the many stars in the sky with their constellations. From this, her dream of becoming an explorer had been formed, in which she dreamed of seeking out strange new worlds and new civilizations, to go where no one had before.

And when she found out about the Unknown regions, she was hooked at an instant.

She had spent the better part of ten years of her life, learning, arguing and collecting data in order for her to one day be able to receive the needed funding and support in order to allow her dream project to come to fruition.

However, unlike what she thought it would be like at a young age, to search for unknown systems when she was not on a trip of adventure as she thought of, but a slow boring process of sending out probes or going on a ship in hyperspace for a chance to find something. 'At lest we found something.' she thought to herself.

While they had found plenty of other areas of interest, those areas soon were proven to have nothing, only a few planets that were just too irradiated for any use.

However, she felt it would be the day that they would not just cut her funding, but the end of her dream as she knew it. She had thought it for days, waiting for the call to come in and end it all. She keeps going on, praying that she would be given one more day so that she could find something. Although it most likely would not be today, she still remained faithful that eventually, something would happen.

As if her prayers were answered by God, or something else, something happened. Something that nobody had prepared for.

Something that would change the course of history as this galaxy knows it. Something that would also change the balance of power throughout the republic and the rest of the galaxy itself.

Even the mysterious force itself would even shift, not to dark, not to light.

This thing was not just something unknown, but something completely different.

This something was a group of humans called;

The United Terran Federation.

And God has mercy on all those who piss them off.
