Star Wars: The United Terran Federation

Chapter 5: Meeting and Talking

35 BBY / March 2056

Washington Spaceport, Washington DC,

Earth, Sol system

Terrence Ford was nervous.

And Excited.

Who wouldn't be excited at the chance at meeting people from another world.

Aliens, just the word and its implications

What made him more excited is the fact that they were also Humans, Humans!

But that also made him worried.

Just by looking at their past was more than enough justification to be careful.

There had been enough lies, destruction, deception and war in their past to fill a book that would take many lifetimes to read.

Fortunately, people could only stand so much of each, sooner or later things had to crack.

And crack they did, only after a few months of conventional war, everything just went Nuclear. Literally.

Terrence was a vet of the battle of Taiwan, from the great five month war. Better known to most of the Terran people as World War Three.

He had seen the horror of war, fighting wave after wave of Chinese troops, storming the beaches, trenches, mountains and cities nonstop for nearly four months straight. However, after constantly fighting all around the world, with little to no gains for either side, one would imagine some sort of truce. But no, they just launched a few Nukes.

Then all Hell broke loose, literally.

Within a few minutes, a number of major cities, including many national Capitals, went from hustling and bustling cities to Purely nuclear radioactive craters.

The casualty rating would've been in the numerous billions, if not for one thing. Human survival instincts.

Just as the war started, millions upon millions of people fled the cities originally to avoid mass conscription, as well as possible nuclear annihilation.

Because of this, instead of the untold billions who would lose their lives, the actual casualties from the launching of the nuclear warheads, was just a little under 48 million.

Soon after, the majority of the world's military leaders met and had the most important meeting in human history. The Silent Gun Conference.

Some in the future would say that the name for such an important meeting was not appropriate, but at the time, the name stuck.

In the conference, they agreed to all lay-down their arms, return any prisoners of war to each other and end the fighting.

They also agreed to force the leaders to make peace, or they would arrest them.

Some thought that most of the world's leaders would resist, however, most didn't to the complete shock of all others.

Many remember back to that day and say, "it was the strangest day in our history."

Back to the present, he could see the republic shuttle coming down to land. He could see its tan hull, with the two wings folding up, with its front viewport, he could see the pilot and her copilot making the final landing passengers.

He knew that soon he would meet the Republic diplomats. That soon he will be the one responsible for the most important meeting even since the 'Silent Gun Conference' all those years back.

'Maybe I'm not ready, maybe someone else would be a better choice for this, maybe...', "Calm down comrade, there is nothing to be worried about." Terrence was interrupted from his mental rant by a strong Russian voice.

"Yes, Mr. President, however," the Terran diplomat paused for a moment, "am I the right person for this task?"

The task that he was referring to specifically was the job of opening a diplomatic dialogue that could lead to trade and other useful things. Like acquiring a working FTL drive.

The Russian Man looked taken aback, before he started to chuckle, "Don't worry my friend, you'll do your job just fine. Just relax, ok?"

"But sir…"

"No buts, comrade. You are the best diplomat and negotiator we have and trust you to get the job done." He quickly replied to him before he could say anything to shatter his own confidence.

Before Ford could say anything else, the ramp from the Republic shuttle came down, with four figures coming out of the craft.

The first two figures appeared to be guards, wearing full blue body armor, with each of them holding a long rife of some kind. The next figure was a tall, white male human, presumably in his mid-thirties, wearing what appeared to be a larger official gown, which in all respects looks a little silly in his opinion.

However, the fourth figure was the most peculiar. Or young tan colour woman, and with dark green eyes with the height of being around little over 6 feet tall. However, that was the strange part About her.

She was wearing robes.

Not any kind of swimming robes, But a heavier thicker version of the Tibetan monk robes.

'Is she some sort of religious monkey or something?', the young Terran diplomat thought to himself.

'In any case, she hot.', he ended his train of thought, while getting the last one out of his head.

He stepped forward and introduced himself, "Hello ambassador's, I'm Ambassador Terrence Ford, behind me is President Alexander Petrov. Welcome to Earth." he ended up holding out his hand.

What he assumed to be the main republic representative, grasped his hand and shook it, before replying, "I'm Ambassador Reuanto Parsax from the galactic republic, next to me is Jedi knight Eilva Lellira. We are here, to begin your Introduction into the galactic community, and membership in the galactic republic." He ended his short speech, with Noticeable arrogance in his voice.

The former Terran, now Diplomat replied with hidden annoyance of the republic man's arrogance, "Of course. If you follow me, we will take you both to somewhere better suited for these talks." Gesturing to a black limo behind him.

The republic diplomat, Reuanto Parsax seemed repulsed at the four-wheel vehicle at first, before hiding it before anyone watching could see. However, unbeknownst to him, everyone including reporters and the accompanying Jedi notice.

The Republic diplomat party then entered the Limo with their Terran counterparts, before heading to one of the last remaining government buildings that survived the Nukes.

The White House.

One hour later

(Jedi knight Eilva Lellira POV)

Location: Washington DC, White House

Jedi knight Eilva Lellira was intrigued by these people.

While true, they did seem primitive by their standards, they were also very civilized.

They never held anything back, even showed the poor areas of the city, and even then, the poor here seemed to have better living conditions than the poor in the rest of the galaxy.

Then they arrived at the capitol buildings.

The architecture of the building was incredible, from the well-crafted pillars to the grand statue of a man sitting in a chair. When she asked who he was, the President replied, "Abraham Lincoln, former President of the nation state of the USA that used to exist here before it joined the Federation. He ended slavery here in that nation."

'Well, they are not going to get along with the Hutt's, that's for sure.' She thought to herself, before reorganizing her thoughts for the important meeting ahead.

The vehicle pulled up to another large building, then the door opened, and they were escorted inside.

They eventually ended up in what appeared to be a large conference room. Everyone except the guards took a seat.

To break the silence the Terran President in his rough deep voice then said, "Well let's talk about each other's history before any negotiations."

As a sign of good faith, the republic delegation begins to talk about their history, with knight Eilva Lellira, further talking about how the Jedi worked as peacekeepers of the republic.

However, things went a little sour when she mentioned her mission to find the future Jedi, when they asked who would exactly be recruited. When she gave them the answer, they were appalled. One of the Terran Bodyguards mumbled something about child soldiers.

Then it was the Terrans' turn, and by the end of it, the entire Republic diplomatic party was shocked. Three world wars, hundreds of civil wars and many others. Large amounts of weapons of the nuclear variety.

By the end of their talks, there was little gained by convincing them to join the republic in her opinion, however in her colleague arrogant opinion was the exact opposite.

He believed that they had made great progress in convincing them to join the republic by talking about the republic's great technology and how they would greatly benefit from it. He even arranged that their next meeting tomorrow would be on Luminosity, just to demonstrate and show the republic's technology superiority compared to the Terrans.

While they did say that certain technology would greatly improve their nation, they never once in their meeting said that they would even consider joining the republic.

However, as she went back to their ship on the shuttle, she couldn't help but wonder, why did the Terrans agree to allow the most prominent government officials on board a foreign ship, especially because of their great suspicion of others for their many years of war.

Unknown to her, while the Terrans are indeed have their suspicions, they know one thing above all else;

With big risk comes great reward.

And if things go to plan, well, they might not need the republic's tech for one reason.

Operation Sleight-of-Hand.

Hello there, StarTrekBattlestar123AMF here. I hope you all enjoyed the story so far.

Sorry that I wasn't able to get this out yesterday, unforeseen problems had come up.

Please do give me some reviews, I would love to hear all your feedback about my first try at a fanfiction.

Even Ideas of how I could shape the story into the future would be appreciated.

And Blaze1992, regarding your question from chapter 4, while I do have a strong Idea of what the terrans are going to have for ships, I would love to hear your ideas as the readers of possible new ideas for ships, weapons, names, battle plans, you name it.

While this story is mine, I would like to hear ideas from all of my readers about ideas as to how to shape this story into the future.

This is because you the readers can at times come up with a much better storyline than me. For example, Blaze1992, you talked about how the Terrans could join the Neutral faction. I love this idea, and while it will be a while before I can pursue this idea, I think I might just run with it. So, thank you for your help.

I hope that answers some questions for you.

Thank you for your time to read my story, have a nice day.

From StarTrekBattlestar123AMF, Peace and long life.

P.S: Blaze1992, you pretty much nailed this and the next chapter.
