Chapter 1: Crellen's Challenge
Sidney Majors sat in her room, looking through her decks on her scanner as she prepared for her CodeMaster match against CodeMaster Crellen. She actually felt a pit in her stomach. Bigger than the one she had when she prepared for her CodeMaster match with CodeMaster Amzen. She even thought about everything she went through since she first came to Chaotic. Meeting Verlina, fighting Chaor, helping the Tribal Alliance, discovering new Locations. All of that was because she had the heart of her family. She was proud to be a Majors.
Then there was a knock on her door and Sarah came in. "Honey, it's almost time for your match." She called. "Huh? Oh, right. Sorry, Mom." Sidney said, snapping out of her thoughts. "What's wrong, sweetie?" Sarah asked, noticing the unsure tone in her daughter's voice. "I was thinking about everything I went through last year. Everything that led up to this." Sidney explained. "And?" Sarah asked. "I went through all of that because I've had you guys to support me. You, Dad, my uncles, my aunts, Verlina, Minnie, Robbie, Gisele, Nika, Krysta. I'm quite proud to have you guys to support me. I don't know if I would even be where I am now if you guys weren't around." Sidney explained. Sarah put her comforting arms around her daughter. "I'm pretty sure you'll still end up where you are now, Sid. Before I met your father, I was sure I'd become a great Chaotic player. But thanks to him, Kaz and Peyton supporting me, I'm one of the best players there ever was." She explained. "And now, with our love and support, it's your turn to join us as a great player." "Thanks, Mom." Sidney said, hugging her mother in return. "No problem, honey. Now let's get you to your CodeMaster Match." Sarah said. "I'm ready." Sidney said with a nod.
(New Intro): Sidney transported into a Chaotic Drome through her scanner and transformed into Verlina as her father transformed into Maxxor. As they battled in the Maelstrom Lands, Maxxor attacked with Rock Wave and Verlina attacked with Torrent of Flame. The scene switched to Intress battling Sonnur, knocking him into the water. The scene switched to Antideon coming up and attacking with Riptide. The scene then switched to Heptadd being chased by Chaor through the forest. The scene then switched to Unda, Seeryn, Silv and Nom activating their Mugics. The scene then switched to a void of Chaotic cards, old and new.
As we zoom in on the card of Ebberim, the scene switched to her, Deenha and Abin-Wor in Hunter's Perimeter, where Robbie was scanning Glost while he was roaring. The scene then switched to Gisele at Queen's Gate scanning Lore as he activated a Mugic. The scene then switched to Raimusa and Attacat battling Skithia and Stelmerix in Glacier Plains until Dradogus joined in. The scene then switched to Gothos Tower where Minnie and Nika were scanning Takinom and Rothar as they battled Drabe and Atropol while Chaor looked out from Gothos Tower. The scene then zoomed in towards the Location known as Cliffends, where a mysterious portal has opened.
The scene switched to Sidney's scanner with a scan of the Cliffends as Sidney pressed the top button. Sidney's eyes swirled with code and images of everyone in the intro. Then zoomed out to Sidney in her room, then zoomed in on the back of her scanner, revealing the title of the show.
Upon arriving in Chaotic, Sidney immediately headed over to the Crellen Drome. Tom and Sarah met up with Minnie, Robbie, Gisele, Nika and Krista in the Port Court and sat down at their table. "This is it, gang. Sidney's second CodeMaster match." Nika said. "You think Sidney can handle CodeMaster Crellen?" Minnie asked. "Are you kidding? Sid was able to handle CodeMaster Amzen for crying out loud." Robbie said. "But that's just it. Sidney might have been able to beat Amzen, but Crellen's way tougher. Hardly anyone other than Tom's ever beaten him. I'm worried that Sid's Creatures won't add up against his." Minnie said.
Sidney entered the Crellen Drome and approached the pedestal. And then, CodeMaster Crellen himself appeared through a floor hatch. "Majorina, you have won 7 battles here in the Crellen Drome. Now CodeMaster Crellen will put your skills to the test himself." The Drome Master explained. "Are you ready to begin, Majorina?" Crellen asked. "I am, CodeMaster Crellen." Sidney said. "Dock your scanners please." The Drome Master instructed. Sidney and Crellen docked their scanners and prepared their teams.
"I can't wait to see what Creatures Sid puts on her team." Sarah said. "I wonder if Sidney will try anything new against Crellen." Gisele said. "We're about to find out." Krista said. Minnie watched with worry.
"Players, lock your decks." The Drome Master instructed. Sidney and Crellen locked their decks and revealed their teams. Crellen had Ursis, Smildon, Cromaxx, the feral wolf Creature, a sabretooth Creature and Ariak. Sidney had Verlina, Gortz, Princess Oézaeria, Mittix, H'earring and Afjak.
Everyone was surprised by Sidney's choice of Creatures. "That is some team Sidney's put together." Krista said, writing this in her records book. "You're right. Afjak, H'earring and Oézaeria? Sidney's not taking chances here." Nika said. 'What're you thinking, Sid?' Minnie thought.
Crellen got a good look at Sidney's team. "Interesting choice of Creatures, Sidney." He said. "Well, go with what you can in your head. Dad and Mom did teach me that." Sidney said. "And I look forward to seeing how well you use those thoughts." Crellen said.
"Majorina, you will attack first. Activate the Location randomizer." The Drome Master instructed. Sidney spun the randomizer and landed on the first Location. "The first Location, Coralsmithy."
Everyone once again became surprised by this. "A M'arrillian Location?! Okay, now I know Sidney's not joking around." Gisele said. "I hope Sid knows what she's doing." Minnie said. "I knew she scanned that Location, but has she ever battled there before?" Robbie asked. "I think so. I don't really remember though." Gisele said.
"Verlina attacks Smildon!" Sidney declared as she tapped her Verlina and transformed into her best Creature friend. Crellen tapped his Smildon and transformed into the great beast warrior. "Let's get Chaotic!" Sidney shouted. Crellen roared as everything went white.
At the Coralsmithy, Verlina looked around the Location for any sign of Smildon. "Slash Claw!" Verlina looked up as a flurry of Slash Claw came towards her from above. "Lavalanche!" Verlina shouted, blasting the slashes with Lavalanche. Then Smildon leapt down from one of the coral houses. Both Creatures stared at each other and started walking around each other. "You seem to be really anxious to beat me. You're not battling your usual standards." Smildon said. "You CodeMasters always use unpredictability. Figured I'd try to give you a taste of your own medicine." Verlina said. "Interesting strategy. You're really going through great lengths." Smildon said. "Anything to be as good as my parents." Verlina said.
Tom and Sarah were actually touched by this. "That's so sweet." Sarah said. "That's our daughter." Tom said.
"Then let's continue. Ur-Shard!" Smildon fired several blasts from his Ur-Shard. Verlina dodged each blast and got closer to Smildon. "Pyro Punch!" She fired Pyro Punch at Smildon, hitting him hard and coding him.
"Alright, Sid!" Tom cheered. "That's how you play, girl!" Gisele cheered. "Way to go, sweetie!" Sarah cheered. "Guys, this is not the time to relax. Crellen still has 5 Creatures left." Minnie said. "That's right. And she needs to be careful of some of their abilities." Tom said, remembering the abilities of some of Crellen's Creatures.
Sidney panted as she transformed back, not having played so aggressive before. "You played that last match perfectly, Sidney." Crellen said. "Yeah. Although I may have been a bit aggressive." Sidney said. "True. But still, you must always remember why you play Chaotic." Crellen said. "I do know why I play Chaotic. I play not just to be the best, but also to have fun." Sidney said. "Then let's continue to do so." Crellen said.
"CodeMaster Crellen, it is your attack." The Drome Master said. Crellen spun his randomizer and landed on the next Location. "The next Location, Glacier Plains." "Cromaxx attacks Verlina." Crellen declared.
In Glacier Plains, Verlina ran as fast as she could, avoiding Cromaxx's attacks. Cromaxx leapt from glacier to glacier, continuously firing his attacks at Verlina. 'Okay, Cromaxx is even scarier in person than how Daddy described. And even if I beat him, Crellen will just use Ariak's ability to bring him back.' Sidney thought. Just then, Verlina was blasted down by a Magma Burst. She slid across the ice until she nearly went off a cliff. She grasped the edge as hard as she could.
"Oh no! Sid!" Sarah cried. "She's in trouble!" Nika cried. "Oh, I can't watch!" Robbie said, covering his eyes. "Sid." Minnie muttered with worry.
Verlina grunted as she struggled to hang on. But then, Cromaxx walked up and loomed over her. "Sorry, kid. But it looks like there's no way for you to survive this." He said, forming his club in his hand. Verlina knew he was right. She looked down at the fall, knowing what she had to do. "You're right. But I have no intention of surviving this battle." She said before letting go of the edge. Cromaxx was shocked as Verlina fell, exploding into code as she landed.
Sidney opened her eyes as she appeared back in the Drome, looking at Crellen as he transformed back. "That was a noble thing to do. Sacrificing Verlina when it looked hopeless." Crellen said. "Your Cromaxx didn't really give me much of an option, CodeMaster. So, I just went with an alternative." Sidney said.
Sidney's friends and parents were touched at what Sidney did. "Sidney. I never would've imagined." Nika said. "Right. Sacrificing Verlina when she was hanging from a cliff. That was the coolest and noblest thing I've ever seen." Krista said. "No doubt. Sidney's always full of surprises." Minnie said.
When it became her attack, Sidney spun her randomizer. She knew that it wasn't over yet. "Princess Oézaeria attacks Ursis!" In Rock River Canyon, Ursis attacked with Arborsmash. Oézaeria slid under the attack to dodge it. Since she saw that Ursis was equipped with a Droskin, knowing that her attacks will be blocked, she came up with another plan. She punched the canyon wall with Sunder Ground. That caused an avalanche that caught Ursis by surprise. The tumbling boulders came crashing on top of him, coding him.
Crellen's attack. "Lycanthar attacks Princess Oézaeria." In the Caverns of Cryxx, the crazy wolf Creature chased after the Mipedian princess as she rode on a Skeletal Steed. Oézaeria attacked with Inferno Gust, but Lycanthar dodged the attack and snagged at the Skeletal Steed's legs with Coil Crush, causing Oézaeria to fall off. But as she started to recover, Lycanthar then unleashed Viperlash from his chest, striking her and coding her.
Sidney's attack. "Gortz attacks Sarva!" In the Shivando Jungle, the crocodile warrior moved through the jungle with ease. And then he fired Earth Pulse from his chest. Sarva, the sabretooth Creature, roared with Megaroar, stopping the earth attack in midair. But then Gortz slammed his fists into the ground. Sarva was confused at first, but then 2 giant earth claws came out on both sides of him. Then they moved in and crushed him, coding him.
Crellen's attack. "Cromaxx attacks Mittix." At the canyon river in Prexxor Chasm, Cromaxx released Skeletal Strike from his body, but Mittix blasted the skeleton attack with a blast from her Cyclance. But then Cromaxx came right back and blasted Mittix with a Magma Burst, coding her.
Sidney's attack. "Afjak attacks Lycanthar!" At Kiru City, Afjak blasted Lycanthar out of Maxxor's castle with Fluidmight. As Lycanthar tumbled down the stairs to the ground, Afjak unleashed Flood Force, sending it down towards him. Lycanthar tried to run, but the unleashed waves hit the poor wolf, coding him.
Crellen's attack. "Ariak attacks Gortz." In Ravanaugh Ridge, Ariak flew around the Location, looking for Gortz. But then he got blasted by Confusion, causing him to fly out of control. Gortz watched from below as Ariak began to fly towards the side of the mountain. Ariak exploded into code as he crashed.
Sidney's attack. "Gortz attacks Cromaxx!" At Cordac Falls, Cromaxx blasted Gortz with Power Pulse, blasting him over the edge of the falls. Gortz exploded into code as he hit the bottom.
Everyone watched with worry. "This is bad! Crellen only has Cromaxx left and Sidney only has H'earring!" Minnie exclaimed. "Especially after Crellen wiped out Afjak with Mugic while attacking Gortz." Nika said. "I wonder if Sidney's considering using H'earring's special ability to lock in either her or Crellen's next 3 Locations." Krista said. "Not that it would help. Even if H'earring had even one Mugician, any energy lowering Mugic Sidney wants to use won't even scratch Cromaxx due to his special ability." Tom said. "Then let's hope Sidney's got a plan for H'earring." Sarah said.
"You should be proud, Sidney. You surprised me as much as your father did during our last match." Crellen said. "I even remember what you taught my father that what's important is the player, not the cards." Sidney said. "And are you ready to prove that you're a great a player as your father, Sidney?" Crellen asked. Sidney took a deep breath. "I am." She said. Crellen nodded.
"CodeMaster Crellen, it is your attack." The Drome Master said. Crellen spun his randomizer and landed on the final Location. "The final Location is Kiru City." "Cromaxx attacks H'earring." Crellen declared, tapping his Cromaxx and transforming into the fearsome Maxxor beast once more. Sidney tapped her H'earring and transformed into the little UnderWorld rabbit. "Let's get Chaotic." She said.
In Kiru City, Cromaxx sniffed through the air to try and pick up H'earring's scent. But then, a Smoke Surge was blown into Cromaxx's face, interfering with his sense of smell. "You're gonna need more than a big sense of smell to find me, Crellen!" H'earring called from the smoke. Cromaxx listened through the echoes of H'earring's voice to try and locate him. "Trying to find me by listening for my voice, are you? Well, that won't work either! Megaroar!" H'earring roared, blasting Cromaxx into the side of a building.
"Alright, Sidney!" Sarah cheered. "That's genius! Cromaxx has excellent heightened senses. So, Sid's messing with them to give her an advantage." Tom said. "Sid could actually beat Cromaxx with H'earring!" Gisele said. "You think she can pull it off?" Nika asked. "We're about to find out." Minnie said.
Cromaxx recovered as he pulled himself out of the wall, rubbing his ears from that loud roar. "That was quite clever. But cleverness will only get you so far." He said. "I know." H'earring said, revealing himself. "You ready to end this?" Cromaxx asked if he glared. "Born ready." H'earring said, glaring back. Cromaxx started firing boulders from his giant paws. H'earring dodged the boulders and attacked with Lavalanche, striking Cromaxx in the chest. With Cromaxx distracted from the blast, H'earring charged in and delivered a Flashkick. But then Cromaxx grabbed H'earring from midair. "You really put up a good fight, Sidney. But alas, it was not good enough." He said before throwing H'earring far into the city.
"SIDNEY!" Tom, Sarah and Sidney's group all screamed, fearing that Sidney was about to lose. But then they noticed that the battle hadn't ended yet.
Cromaxx was confused. "What's going on?! She had to have been coded after throwing her so hard!" He exclaimed. "Think again, CodeMaster!" H'earring called as a Torrent of Flame was shot from the sky and hit Cromaxx. Then H'earring came down, flying on the giant scarab beetle Creature, Xield.
"Of course! Sidney remembered that Xield can be used as a Creature or as a BattleGear!" Nika said. "Sidney, you sneaky little she-gun!" Minnie exclaimed happily.
Cromaxx roared and fired Magma Burst. But H'earring flew Xield out of the way, dodging the attack. "Here comes the ultimate finisher, CodeMaster Crellen! Magma Might!" H'earring fired Magma Might from his chest, striking Cromaxx and coding him.
Sidney's group all cheered as they saw her win. "YES!" Gisele screamed. "Alright, Sid!" Nika cheered. "She did it again!" Sarah cheered. "That's our girl!" Tom cheered.
Sidney smiled happily and panted hard as she transformed back. "Well done, Sidney Majors. You have once again proven that you're a true Chaoitc Player like your parents." Crellen said. "Thank you, CodeMaster Crellen." Sidney said. Just then, her scanner beeped. She took it from the pedestal and saw that she received a scan of Prexxor Chasm. "Prexxor Chasm!" She said with excitement. "Like Invectoid Gardens, that scan will unlock a whole new world for you. Use it wisely." Crellen said.
As Sidney exited the Drome, her parents and friends met up with her and brought her into a group hug congratulations. "Sidney, you are just amazing!" Nika exclaimed happily. "You defeated your second CodeMaster! And with H'earring too!" Gisele exclaimed happily. "You are just a freighter full of surprises, girl!" Krista exclaimed happily. "Did you get the scan?!" Robbie asked eagerly as they broke the hug. "I sure did." Sidney said, showing them her new Location scan. Sidney's friends were in awe. "Prexxor Chasm! You're gonna be able to scan a whole lot of cool stuff there just like in Invectoid Garden!" Minnie said. "I know. And I can't wait to see it." Sidney said. "You're gonna love it there, Sid. Especially after I helped save it when I was your age." Tom said. "And I'm looking forward to it, Daddy." Sidney said.
