Star Wars: The United Terran Federation

Chapter 12: Unfolding Secrets Part 1

34 BBY / March 2057

Planet of Coruscant

Senate Building

Office of the Supreme Chancellor's

In the beautiful red room of the Office of the Supreme Chancellor's, Chancellor Finis Valorum could be seen, with a tired look on his face.

For the last few years of his term, he had been trying to regain control of the outer-rim area of the galaxy from the corporations of the Trade Federation, Techno Union and others who took control because of the Free Trade zone.

Rubbing his forehead, the old man was exhausted from going over report after report. Some being economic reports, while others were security reports about piracy attacks and the ever-growing corruption in the senate.

He had been working costly for nearly a day, with nondisabled bags under his eyes. However, his day was only half done, and he still had to deal with another session in the senate. Most likely more talking and arguments about any future taxes that could be leveled against the Free Trade zone.

Oh, he wished he could take a vacation, maybe going to resort on Chandrila and forget about the mess he inherited when he became Chancellor. If only he had a chance to take a break.

It seemed that he would work forever, being the middleman in constant arguments and the reader for endless reports stating that almost every one of his colleagues was corrupt. That information could be obtained from anyone on the whole planet.

Speaking of reports, one of his secretaries entered with a data pad in hand and had a face that showed what the data pad was about.

"Sorry sir, I got another report for you." His female secretary spoke.

"Thank you, Ms. Vall. Go take your lunch break, I can handle the rest." Replied the Old politician.

The young lady secretary then hands him the data pad with the day's new security reports. As the woman left the room, her rear slightly shaking as went out the door, Valorum sighed as he watched.

'If I was 20 years younger, and not the Chancellor, we could go so far with that...' Thought the dirty old man.

He pushed that thought to the side as he pulled up the report into his view.

'Something about Mandalore, hmm.' thought Valorum. 'I guess I'll take a look.'

Then he began to read the report that was supplied by the Senate Bureau of Intelligence, the only intelligence agency left after the demilitarization of the Republic after the Ruusan Reformation.

However, at times, you couldn't even call it an intelligence agency.

It was under funded, understaffed, and most of the information they ever gathered was either second hand at best or was known to half of the galaxy, or completely fake.

It was nerve racking at the complete idiocy that some of the reports were, he only hoped that it wouldn't be another one of those reports.

As he began to read into the report, he began to think it was another one of those reports that would just take a brain cell or two from him again. They could get that dumb.

But as he kept reading further and further, he grew more concerned, his face turned pale and if you looked close enough, you could see sweat coming down his face.

According to the report, the Mandalorians were building ships. While yes, they did build ships, they have a ship building company, the number of ships that were getting built and the size of them was what was conserving.

If news of this got out to the senate and the general public, everyone would be thinking that the Mandalorian people were on the warpath once again after so many years of peace.

He knew it couldn't be true, since their leader, Satine, was a pacifist.

However, the facts speak for themselves.

They were building a whole fleet for no reason at all, and he needed to find out why.

He couldn't get an ambassador or get the Senate Bureau of Intelligence without letting this vital information leak, so he had only one option.

He turned on his com system.

"Get me the Jedi Council immediately."

One hour later

In the room with the Office of the Supreme Chancellor, the chancellor looked at his two invited guests, Jedi master Yoda and Windo

"Master Jedi, I requested you here today because of a rumor for the Mandalore System." stated the commander and chef of the Galactic Republic.

"Hm, A rumor from Mandalore, you say. Questions and concerns, you have, do you," Spoke

Jedi master Yoda

"Yes, Master Yoda. I have received word that a large fleet is being built in the Mandalore system. Presumably warships."

Windu frowned. "This is indeed troubling Chancellor."

"In line with the Duchess' ideas, this is not." Commented the Green Jedi.

"That's why I call you here." The Old man raised from his seat, before continuing, "I can't send an ambassador or an agent to the Senate Bureau of Intelligence without letting information get out. If either the Senate or the Public, there will be panic, and a fleet will be demanded to be sent to investigate and possibly occupy the planet."

The old man looked downwards to the ground. "It would start a war, breaking the 1,000 years of peace that this Republic and the Galaxy have shared."

"This is definitely a major problem, Chancellor." Spoke Windu. "What would you like the jedi to do for you, Chancellor?"

"The reason why you're here master Jedi is because I am requesting someone of your order be sent to Mandalore as an ambassador for me. Therefore, not alerting the general public while finding out their true intentions with this fleet is."

"One question remains, who to send to Mandalore?" Asked master Yoda.

The last question that was on the mind of the green Jedi and the Old Politician was answered by the second Jedi master in the room.

White House Joint Chiefs Meeting

The Next Day

Planet of Earth

Washington DC

Being a Politician was hard work.

Making deals and compromises in government was much harder than what people normally think.

Even more so for a formal soldier.

President of the Terran Federation Alexander Petrov, a formal soldier, always found his job to be hard.

At time's he really wondered why he took this job in the first place.

But there were good points and bad, but for the most part, he enjoyed his job.

Like today, he finished all of the necessary paperwork that he, the President, had to do himself. It was a little way from Noon, so he began to think of what he wanted for his well-deserved lunch.

After a few moments of thinking of what to have, he decided on three Tuna Sandwich.

Just as he was about to stand up to go to the kitchen (to his chef's annoyance, because he had indeed raided the kitchen more than once for a snack,) the air of the room, that was just filled with exactement, was replaced with despair as a man walked into the room suddenly.

"Mr. President, Mr. Harper has asked for an emergency meeting of the joint Chiefs." Spoke to the young man.

Fear spread upon the Russian man's face when he heard those words. Then he asked, "When?"

"Right Now, Sir."

Emergency meeting of Terran Joint Chefs

White House

20 Minutes

The meeting room was a mess of words and confusion.

Most of the invited people were government ministers and high-ranking officials that had the security clearance had been rushed to this room in the White House from every other possible meeting one could ever think of.

The President soon walked in with his Guards, with Jack Harper following right behind him. As soon as they entered the room when it was silent, the two men went to the end of the meeting room.

The eerie silence was so thick that you could cut it with a knife. At least until the hot head of the Army spoke up and demanded why he had to leave his BBQ party halfway through on such short notice.

"General Jackson, if you be quiet for a moment, I could tell you a piece of information which could determine the future of the Federation so shut up." Calmly spoke to the head Terran Spy, with known anger in his voice.

With everyone sitting down, and not talking, the spy began the Emergency meeting.

"As everyone knows, seven months ago, one of our agents, Code name Data, was able to infiltrate the Republic Senate along with a few other agents as well."

"We just reserved word from our people Coruscant, apparently rumors about Mandalore building our ships have arrived at the great Republic senate."

The whole room began to ask questions at such a rate that it sounded like an argument like known before was happening.

"DO THEY KNOW ABOUT US?"

"ARE WE GOING TO LOSE THE NEW FLEET?"

"ARE THEY GOING TO ATTACK?"

"WHAT THE HELL WE GOING TO DO?"

"QUIET!"

Everyone turned his head towards the head of the federation as he roared at the panicked people.

"Let the man finish his report. Harper?"

"Well, that was about it."

"Now, what do we do?"

It took a moment before the president came up with a half-cocked up plan that began to be formed.

"Get word to the Embassy on Mandalore, tell Ambassador Mickey Jackson that he's about to get company."

"Mr. President, I must ask, what do you think you are doing?" Asked the newly appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elijah Mackintosh.

The Russian man then began to say his plan, "You see Gentleman, Ladys, the way I see it, we got two options." He wait's a moment before he explains his thinking. "One, we try to hide is involvement. In doing so, we alienate our allies the Mandalorian, risk getting them invaded and destroy any chance or diplomatic relation with the republic."

Taking a deep breath, the top guy of the Federation began to talk about the other plan. "Or option two, we get involved and tell them the Truth."

That last statement caused everyone, including the staff, to literally raise an eyebrow.

"Uhhh."

The first person to speak to Petrov was CTNO, Fleet Admiral Jonson Whitlock asked, "Why do we tell the truth to them, Mr. President."

"You see, if we tell them the truth about why we hired them to build the ships with the reason why we need the ships in the most upfront, we could prevent them from digging too deep into our ship building program. That way, for now, we can begin to establish diplomatic communications and keep them from prying into our affairs for the time being. At least, I hope so."

Trying to get more support for his half-baked plan, he further went on by stating that, "Plus, we can finally confront the Trade federation out in the open for the pirate attacks they have funded."

That last point hit the room hard.

Ever since November, pirate attacks and raids had jumped up tenfold. Duntose, the first planet to come under invasion, had been hit with at least six raids along with a number of other Terran worlds. A few naval ships were destroyed, and more were damaged, but luckily, casualties were light, for now.

The only good thing that was even coming out of this was the fact that the Terran Defence Force was able to get some new ships from the Pirate Bastards.

With the game plan set, the Terrans began to prepare for the worst, and hoped for the best.

Jedi Shuttle

Within Hyperspace

Two Days After Jedi meeting with the Chancellor

"Experience with the Mandalorian, you do Master Qui-Gon."

"That's why the council has decided for you to investigate this new fleet of ships that they are building."

"Could they just be building ships for a new Defense Forces?"

"That's for you and your apprentices to find out, Master Qui-Gon."

Remembering his orders from the counsel, the jedi grumbled, "At times I wonder if the council is trying to start a diplomatic incident."

"You say something, master?" Asked the Jedi's apprentice.

The older Jedi looks to his padawan, Obi-wan Kenobi before responding "Nothing to worry about, my young padawan, just thinking about the mission the council has sent us out on."

"Master, I know you don't like the council, or the job they have given us." Countered the Young jedi.

"I know that our mission is of great importance, my young padawan. It's just that the council at times seems to give out missions without thinking about the consequences." The old jedi, placing his hand on his forehead, before shifting it to the back of his head.

"In any case, you should be happy."

"Happy, Master?"

The Jedi Smiled. "Of course, you get to see the duchess, your girlfriend again."

Blushing profusely, he objected almost too quickly. "Wait Master, Satine isn't my girlfriend."

"No worry's Obi-wan, I won't tell anyone if you don't."

A few minutes later, the Jedi Shuttle exited hyperspace in the vicinity of Mandalore.

The sound of a local transmission began to come through the shuttle's speakers. "Unknown craft, this is the Mandalorian Patrol Ship Evaar'la Akaanir, Identify yourself."

"Mandalorian Patrol Ship, this is a Republic Diplomatic Shuttle carrying Jedi ambassadors on behalf of the Chancellor of the Republic."

"Understood Jetii, main Sundari Landing platform, didn't deviate from your flight plan."

"Thank you."

A few minutes later the shuttle landed at one of the many landing platforms.

As the two Jedi left their craft, an older man wearing an official uniform of the planet's government. He then directed them to a hover transport far closer to the interior entrances to the dome capital city of Sundari.

As the Jedi Pair began to walk with the Mandalorian Official, Kenobi took a quick look around before he noticed something.

"Master, is it me or is that Grass on the Ground?"

"It appears so, my young Padawan."

After an enjoyable trip to the palace, the Jedi Ambassadors soon enter the main hall of the palace where several guards stood still on either side of the room. At the end was a tall blond woman who seemed to give off the feeling of superiority in the air, with a pretimed blue dress and a beautiful crown.

This was the leader of Mandalore, Duchess Satine Kryze.

"Master Qui-Gon, Padawan Kenobi, it is nice to see you again." Said the Duchess.

"Duchess, it is also good to see you, once again, especially under better circumstances than last time." Commented the Jedi.

"I believe I know what the chancellor asked you to come here for?" Replied the woman.

"I see that our arrival was expected as well as our mission, wasn't it?"

"You were indeed expected, master Jedi." Said a voice coming down a hallway to the right of the Jedi pair and the duchess.

Out of the hallway came out a mid-size man with jet black hair and some sort of black suit with a piece of black cloth hanging down from the man's neck.

"Let me introduce myself, Master Jedi, I'm Ambassador Mickey Jackson of the Terran Federation. We have much to talk about."

Hello there, StarTrekBattlestar123AMF here. I hope you all enjoyed the story so far.

Please do give me some reviews, I would love to hear all your feedback about my first try at a fanfiction and thank you for your reviews so far.

I must thank you for the countless reviews that I have received so far.

The next chapter will be part two of this chapter, and longer then this one, since it was a smaller one.

I will be planning a brand new way to spark discontent between the Federation and the Republic so it pushes them not to join the Republic or any upcoming war.

I am also looking for any good species names if you can think of any, leaving them in reviews would be much appreciated and may be used.

Diplomatist's will be sent out in the Future but, as the Terrans say, speak softly and carry a big stick.

Thank you for your time to read my story, have a nice day.

From StarTrekBattlestar123AMF, Peace and long life and Live Long a Prosper.
