Star Wars: The United Terran Federation

Chapter 14: How Monks Nearly Start a War… with babies?

34 BBY / September 2057

The Delta Chandra System

Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser | TDFS: Gala

"Nothing new to report sir."

That piece of news was one of the best things Captain Chris Zimmerman had heard in a long while.

For the last month, he had been backlogged with so much paperwork in regards to ships coming in and out of the system, he thought that he would never get it done. If it wasn't for his XO helping him, he would have been two months behind and then the head brace for the Terran Defence Force Fleet would have his head. Thank god for helpful XO's. They are a lifesaver.

The reason why the command wanted so much info about who goes in and out of the Delta Chandra System was because of the Republic.

Delta Chandra is situated right on the border with the republic, and it also being the closest system to the core regions, around 75 to 90 % of all trade between the two came through here. That ment it was the number one place for smugglers and criminals from outside the Federation.

During the few months after the meeting on Coruscant, smugglers and organized criminal syndicates tried to set up shop on the Planet of New Gibraltar. Bribes became more common and more and more smugglers tried to drop off their illegal Goods far away from main population centers, only to return later to sell. Too bad this only lasted a few days.

With the well documented records of ships going in and out, as well as the very large, and very extensive sensor and security net, actively tracking every ship within the entire system.

Within weeks, every single smuggler and syndicate member was arrested and taken care of.

It soon becomes common knowledge that the Federation, Criminals will be prosecuted and be taken care of and will not be tolerated.

So, having nothing to do was quite a good thing.

"Well then, I'll be in my Quarters. XO has con-" "Sir, an unknown craft has just entered the system." Shit. More paperwork.

"Ok, what do we got, Sensors?"

"Single craft, very small, possibly just large enough for three or four people. According to sensor scans, it's a long range Shuttle, built in the Republic. The IFF reads the ship under the operation control of the… Jedi order?"

"Jedi? Why are they here?" Asked one bridge crew of the Dreadnought Heavy Cruiser; TDFS Gala.

"Maybe we should ask?" Asked another member of the bridge.

"Comm's, get me that shuttle on the line. Let's find out what they are up to."

The Communication officer began halling the Jedi shuttle on radio and Holo communications. "Jedi Shuttle, this is the Terran Defence ship Gala identify yourself. Repeat, Jedi Shuttle, this is the Terran Defence ship Gala identify yourself."

After a minute of being ignored by the shuttle, the captain got fed up and went to the comm's station before taking over. "Jedi Shuttle, this is Captain Chris Zimmerman of the Terran Defence ship Gala identify yourself now or you will be detained. This is your last warning."

A moment later he turned to his navigation officer and asked, "Can we or any other ship intercepted them before they get to the planet?"

The response was not what he was hoping for. "Negative, sir. Neither we or any other TDF ship will be able to intercept them before they land on the planet."

Disappointment could be heard in his voice. "Well then, send a message down to the customs officials on the planet, tell them what they are going to expe-"

"Sir, we have another problem."

Feeling like his day was just going to get worse, he responded faster than before. "What's the problem?"

"Sir, according to their flight path, they are not heading for the space port."

A deep sinking feeling started in his stomach, a feeling of a great despair filled him. "Where are they going Lieutenant?"

"Apparently a small farming community about 200 km from the Capital, sir."

"Get the local authorities on the horn, and let them know where they are going exactly and that they are also to detain the Jedi by any means necessary. Also, who is the highest ranking Military officer within the system?"

"That would be Rear-Admiral Gamble Sir. Why?"

"I'm getting a bad feeling about this so I want him to be fully apprised of the current situation."

After a few 'Yes, sir's' he sat down back in his seat again thinking 'And today was supposed to be a calm day, Uugh.'

The Planet of New Gibraltar

The Town of Little Feild

Farm of Jack Smith

Jedi Knight Adaha Corr was what most in the order as a good Jedi.

He is a strong, calm and collective person, following the Jedi code and teaching's.

To be a protector of the Republic. It's a sword and shield.

To have no grudges, nor emotions in regard to anyone.

That was until today.

The day that he was for the first time in a long time became very irritating.

"Please Mr. Smith, for the last time. Since your daughter is a force user, she must come with us so she can be trained to becom-" "I don't care, she's not coming with you."

The Terrans had, since their induction to the galactic community, they haven't been very cooperative with the galaxy at large.

Arresting many Traders and Merchants that came to the few terran worlds that they were allowed to go to on the charge of smuggling and possession of illegal substances.

While they did break the law, they were just sent away to prison without even a chance to face republic justice.

They also didn't respect the republic or either the Jedi, which also Irritated him even more.

"So for the last time, Get off my farm right now, or I'll shoot you." Warned the protective father aiming his slung thrower weapon at him.

Unfazed by the gun being pointed at him the Jedi advanced towards it, unaffected by the threat.

Suddenly the Jedi begins to move to the side as the Terran fires his weapon, nicking the Jedi in the arm in the process. In return the Jedi cut the man 's arms off with a swift strike. The Terran collapsed to the ground in pain as the Jedi walked past him, into the farm house.

'Stupied Terran, he's lucky that I'm in a rush or I might have just lopped off his head.' Thought the arrogant Jedi.

Using the force, he soon found that the child was being held in a room on the far side of the house. This was soon confirmed when he heard a baby crying from said room.

He could also sense what appears to be the child's mother next to the child. Before grabbing the child, he would have to either get the mother to hand over the child or take her by force.

Opening the wood door, Adaha Corr noticed the woman looking over a wood crib.

As he began to walk over, his warning senses went off as the mother turned around, with another slung thrower in hand.

Two shots rang out as the jedi bright his blade around. The First shot hit the right arm of the Jedi, causing him a great amount of pain. However the second bullet passed through the Lightsaber, turning it to molten metal, then vaporizing it whole.

While in pain and just pissed off, he swings his weapon, cutting the woman's arm off and leaving a deep gash down the front of her body. If not for cauterizing the wound, the Jedi's bladed would kill her.

Walking over to the crib, bleeding arm in hand, as he picked up the young child as it cried, wanting its mother.

"No worries young child, soon you'll be where you belong."

With the girl in hand, he left the house and headed towards his two fellow Jedi, who were waiting for him at the shuttle, when he heard something coming from down the road in the distance. Looking off into the distance, he noticed a Terran land vehicle, with flashing lights and siren approaching fast towards him.

Wanting to avoid any more Terrans, the Jedi picked up the pace to the shuttle.

A minute later, the police car pulled up to the farm house. Upon seeing the handless man of Jack Smith, the officers called it in and requested an ambulance to be sent out. They requested to do this again when they found the unconscious body of a woman.

Suddenly, the sound of repulsors came from behind the home in one of the farm's many fields.

As the officers ran to the back, they could see the Jedi shuttle lift off and begin making their way off the planet. The law men then reported back to their dispatcher with the news that the ship they were supposed to detained had just left. That piece of news was then reported to the senior military officer in the system.

Newly promoted Rear-Admiral Christopher 'Gambler' Gamble, the Pirate Hunter of Bidrars himself.

Tenth Terran Frigate Squadron

Martin class Frigate: TFS Apollo

In orbit of Planet of New Gibraltar

Rear-Admiral Christopher Gamble was once again looking over the tactical review of the last war game between the Tenth Terran Frigate Squadron and the Fourth Terran Destroyer Squadron. And he was both happy and disappointed with the results of the game.

While the Destroyer Squadron was more powerful than the Frigate Squadron, his people had absolutely destroyed the Fourth Squadron.

With the Nine Martin class Frigates with the single Saratoga Class Light Carrier of the Tenth Terran Frigate Squadron, they were on paper, severely out matched compared to the Four Mississippi class Destroyers, Five Martin class Frigates and one Saratoga Class Light Carrier.

They out matched them in both fighter strength and ship to ship firepower. But they still lost, badly.

They were completely beaten by a much weaker force. Simulated casualties indicated that all ten of their ships were utterly destroyed along with most of their fighters and bombers, compared to the loss of three ships and a third of their fighters for the Frigate Squadron.

The reason for why the Fourth was beaten so badly was because of the fact that they lacked one thing that out classed most other factors in combat. Experience.

Being part of the Task force to eliminate the pirate main braces of operations on the planet of Bidrars, the Tenth Terran Frigate Squadron under the command of Rear-Admiral Christopher Gamble was responsible for one of the main escape vectors for the pirate fleet.

They took nearly no losses while destroying over twenty ships, hence the nickname of the squadron, 'The Pirate Hunters' and the commander's nickname of 'The Pirate Hunter of Bidrars'.

At the end of the war game, he was happy with the performance of his squadron, but disappointed with the performance of the opposing squadron, though that was sort of expected since the Fourth Terran Destroyer Squadron was only recently formed with the crew just finished basic training.

No matter, he would just have to send them through a whole new training exercise and – "Sir, while receiving a message from the Dreadnaught Heavy Cruiser TDFS: Gala."

"What does it say, Lieutenant?"

"Message from Captain Zimmerman, Jedi Shuttle bypassed patrol fleet, landing on planet. Local authorities are attempting to intercept the planet. Will inform on any more developments."

When he heard the word 'Jedi', a blanket of dread came upon him. Trusting his instinct and knowledge gathered from the holo net, he replied with determination and resolve.

"Alright, send a message back to the Gala, tell them that 'we appreciate being informed, and if you require we can provide support if necessary.' And then send a message out to all TFS ships in the system, and get them to rendezvous with us. From what I readed about them, whenever the Jedi get involved with anything, things happen. Most of the time it's bad."

A few 'yes sir' later and the majority of the Terran naval forces in the area began to head towards the Flagship of the Admiral.

Near silence for the next ten minutes as more terran ships joined with the Apollo, coming to 3 Frigates with a Destroyer escorting the Flagship.

However that silence was soon broken, as the sensor officer of the Apollo found something in her sensor scanning. "Sir, the Jedi Shuttle that the Gala reported is leaving the atmosphere of New Gibraltar and is appearing to attempt to leave the system."

The Terran then asked. "Did our people clear them to leave?" Only to be informed that the local authority didn't even get a chance to talk with them.

"Allright, all ship's Yellow alert, set an intersped course, all ships ahead flank. Helm, time to be intercepted?"

"Sir, we will be in weapons range for the x-ray laser batteries in three minutes and we will be in tractor beam range in five."

"Once we enter range for the x-ray laser weapons, have them target is to disable their ship, understood?"

"Yes sir."

While the main guns on the Terran warship had much more power and range, they were simply overkill and would destroy the ship, if it didn't just dodged the shells from the cannon. The x-ray laser batteries were the only option in the case. They also had the range that the auto-canon point defense turrets didn't.

As the Terran warships began to chase the Jedi Shuttle, the numerous long range x-ray laser batteries began to turn towards the craft, preparing to disable the spacecraft before it could leave the system.

As they gained on the craft, the com's on the Terran warship's began broadcasting out to the Jedi shuttle. "Terran Warship to Republic shuttle, Power down your engines and prepare to be boarded. Repeat, Terran Warship to Republic shuttle, Power down your engines and prepare to be boarded. If you don't disengage your engines we will open fire. Repeat, we will open fire."

The Terran ships got closer and closer, the Terrans keepted blasting over the com's for the Craft to stop, only to be responded with nothing.

On the Apollo, the Admiral is informed that they would be in range in about 30 seconds.

Suddenly, his sensor officer noticed that the shuttle was about to enter hyperspace.

Having no choice since the Jedi shuttle wouldn't stop, he was forced to stop them himself. Speaking to the few ships under his command, Admiral Gamble began to relay his orders. "All ships standby to fire on my command."

A few moments later he was informed that they were in weapons range.

In a deep voice he began. "All ship fir-" "SIR PRIORITY MESSAGE FROM THE GALA, THERE IS AN TERRAN HOSTAGE ON THE SHUTTLE."

Hearing the news of something he would never have expected, his response was fast as lightning. "ALL SHIPS HOLD YOUR FIRE, REPEAT, HOLD YOUR FIRE."

Unlucky for the terran ships, since they didn't fire on the shuttle's engines or hyperdrive, it was able to escape from the The Delta Chandra System.

Unknown location

Same Day

Darth Plagueis was not like most sith.

Compared to the sith of the old sith empires, he was a weakling in strength and power.

However, he made up for that by way of his brain and the uses of the force in tandem with science. By doing this he believed he could achieve immortality.

Along with the great amount of funds that his preadicers and himself had admast at the intergalactic banking clan and 'other' locations, he had all the available resources needed to do his reacher and also the sith grand plan.

It took years and numerous sith generations to acquire the wealth and connections to prepare for the sith grand plan to finlay destroy the Jedi once and for all.

However, recent unexpected events might have delayed the grand plan. Severely delayed.

The Trade Federation, the same people that he wanted to stur up enough trouble to set up his apprentice to become the Republic Chancellor, were now under investigation.

Not only that, but a chunk, (not a large chunk, but a far size of the galaxy,) completely independent and non reliant on the rest of the galaxy or the banking clan. If the plan were to move forward, this Terran Federation in the lease would be a thorn in his side. However, in the worst, it could be a major problem.

It was a disappointment that his apprentice didn't think that they were going to be much of a problem in the grand scheme of things.

But no matter, with a few bribes and backroom deals will get the Trade Federation investigation, but these Terrans would have to be taken care of, but at a later date. It would be very hard to bring them into the republic but, maybe something could be arranged.

Nothing right away of course, he had to be careful when doing this without typing of the Jedi about the remaining Sith in the galaxy and…

Suddenly, a shift in the force was so great, it felt like a wave of water had come upon him.

He had no idea what had just happened, but there was one thing he could tell.

The Jedi had just antagonized someone or something.

And the rage that he felt was a cold but powerful rage, and he was surprisingly sorry for the jedi for what was about to face.

Tenth Terran Frigate Squadron

Martin class Frigate: TFS Apollo

In orbit of Planet of New Gibraltar

In a Holo meeting with Brigadier-General Churchill

One hour later

After an hour of debriefing and getting filled in on all what happened on the planet from the Local Army General, Brigadier-General Oliver Churchill, the Terran Admiral was pissed. Not only did two Terran civilians where nearly killed, their child, their SIX MONTH old child was taken away from them.

And what was worse, there wasn't a damned thing he could do.

"I'm sorry Chris, but there isn't anything we can do." Spoke Churchill.

"I know that, Oliver. I hate that my hands are tied."

"Relacke's Chris, the higher up's and the ambassador will get that child back, I promus-" The naval officer cut him off, before stating something that the Ground Pounder didn't know. "It doesn't matter Oliver. As soon as that kid gets to that god forsaking temple of theirs, according to republic law, they gain full custody of that little girl. Just like in the case of Ludi Billiane."

"What, what are you talking about?"

"A few years back, a child was found and was taken to the Jedi Temple because it was believed that the whole family was dead because of a large earthquake on Ord Thoden. To make it a short story, the mother was alive and tried to get her child back, but they changed the kid's name and the mother lost her child."

"Shit, that is bad news. But still what can we do, lay siege to the Jedi Temple?" The Land lover sarcastically remarked.

Thinking about what his counterpart just said, an idea popped into his head. It was very risky and would probably end his career in the navy, but It just might work.

Quickly putting the pieces of his plan together, he then asked a question to the army man.

"Churchill, Do you still have the transports your people were shipped in with?"

The answer was what he was hoping for, was the one he got.

"Yes."

The Terran space commander followed up his previous question with another. "How many troops can you get on the transports with all available military equipment with supplies in two hours Oliver?"

"I think I can get a battalion of troops with some armored vehicles, maybe two, Why?" Gamble could only smirk, which indirectly told the General that he had a plan. "What you up to Gamble, I know that smirk, you got a plan don't you?"

"I got a plan, it's risky, very risky. We could very much be sent to prison and we could start a war but we might just get that kid back."

"So, what is your plan, Rear-Admiral Gamble."

"Where going to do the last thing anyone in the galaxy will ever expect us terrans to do.

We're going to lay siege to the Jedi Temple and force them to hand the child back over."

Hello there, StarTrekBattlestar123AMF here. I hope you all enjoyed the story so far.

Please do give me some reviews, I would love to hear all your feedback about my first try at a fanfiction and thank you for your reviews so far.

I must thank you for the countless reviews that I have received so far.

Blaze1992, thank you for your suggestions. I may use them for future plans.

To My Guest Viewers, I like your Idea of getting Sidious involved, but since the canon timeline makes him just the apprentice at the moment, I decided to use Plagueis instead.

I also like the Idea that the Terran could 'acquire' by way of possible force.

And Skeleton00, you got it right, but… It's definitely not going downhill. More like diving down off a cliff.

I also apologize for not getting this chapter out sooner, I'll try to get the next one out within a week or two. No promises though.

Thank you for your time to read my story, have a nice day.

From StarTrekBattlestar123AMF, Peace and long life and Live Long a Prosper.
