September 10, 2018. Empress Elisabeth of Austria has just been murdered, and her assassin brought in for questioning. [Modern AU. Crack.]

Austria, 1888. A suicidal boy, a willing mistress, a stubborn father and a reluctant mother; these are the ingredients for the fall of one of the most powerful dynasties that has lasted for over 600 years. The Habsburg's empire is a sinking ship!

Growing up in the palace, Rudolf befriended the daughter of one of the servants. She is there to stop him from shooting himself in Mayerling. But Death will always get what he wants.

Rudolf has a nightmare and there is a storm, what child wouldn't be scared. Even young Princes get scared from time to time. He can't find his mother but maybe instead he finds someone better.
