Mike knew how to get the ladies, he knew how to close deals, and most importantly he knew how to play baseball. Mike knew how to do a lot of things, however, being a father, was not one of them.

Mike & Ginny one shot post 1x10.

It's been five years since Mike retired from baseball. He hasn't talked to Ginny since leaving the Padres. Will a reunion at the Baseball Hall of Fame bring them together or will there be too much baggage left over from their final game for them to ever move past it.

Ginny learns that Mike has plans to auction off a chance for some lucky fan to touch his beard. Ginny is sure this is just an excuse for Mike to be mauled by one of his groupies but Mike says it doesn't have to be sexual. Ginny disagrees. They argue. A bet is made and suddenly Ginny finds herself having to prove to Mike Lawson just how sexual beard touching can be...

A lot can happen in a season that spans 162 games. There are ups and downs, but it's all leading to one place. Takes place between the events of Next To You and You and I Tonight.

Sure, Ginny's career might have ended and Amelia's walked out, but at least Eliot gets a break. Maybe he can even put the band back together... Then he wakes up. [Yuletide 2017 treat for elegantstupidity.]

Mike gets a call that might just change everything

It was the off season. They were supposed to be relaxing, not attending a funeral.

The trip from San Bernardino to Lake Elsinore was not that far in distance or in time; about forty miles, about fifty minutes, give or take a few due to traffic. Mike finds Ginny in a closet, having a moment. Prompt: "Hey, hey, calm down. They can't hurt you anymore." "H-how long have you been standing there?" - "Long enough."

Set during ep 1. Mike catches Ginny in the practice room, pitching towards the mat. She tells him her story. Prompt: "Where am I going? Crazy. Wanna come?"
