Chapter 01: Hell of a Day
HELL
Lucifer walked around the hotel. It was nice to stretch his legs, and it wasn't like people would bother him. He was Lucifer, and there weren't many people in the building. Even after the triumph against the Exterminators, the hotel wasn't getting many guests. Maybe in the future, but not right after it had been a target of Heaven.
He paused in the distance to see his daughter fixing up the flower in front of the portrait of the snake demon.
What was his name?
Sir Pentious. Right.
He never spoke to him and seemed respectful. Lucifer wondered if he would have liked him. Charlie said he was an inventor, and Lucifer was always big on creating things and new ideas. They might have had something in common besides Lucifer had always been fond of snakes. Hell, he couldn't have been a bad guy to know. Everyone seemed pretty broken up about losing him.
He was one of the first people to try his daughter's redemption plan. And he died to protect her, their friends, the hotel, and her dream.
Yeah, Lucifer decided he thinks he would have liked him.
Charlie helped up this little egg guy, the last of Sir Pentious' minions; they hired him as a bellhop. The little guy places some small flowers by the portrait. If his name tag was right, his name was Frank.
Lucifer was about to talk to him-
What?
Lucifer walked to a nearby window. Something was wrong. He looked up to the sky and the pentacle in the air. No, Heaven wasn't attacking. No one was breeching into Hell.
Still, something felt off.
Something familiar, something ancient.
His only guess had to be Heaven, but that didn't seem right. They scared them off. They broke the deal; Adam not only hurt Hellborn, but he killed one by killing Razzle. Lucifer glanced at the Statue out front. The deal was off; it allowed him to intervene. Still, something was off, and he couldn't shake the feeling.
HEAVEN
"We have to tell the council! We have to tell Charlie!" Emily told her, "He's proof that redemption is not only possible, it's been done."
Emily pointed at the redeemed Sir Pentious.
Sera was trying to be diplomatic, insisting they take things slow. The others had been in a bit of a stir after the trial; finding out about the Exterminations has caused arguments. Adam's death wasn't helping matters. They couldn't go to war with Hell; after all, Adam did break the deal he set up. It's not like the deal ever said the sinners couldn't fight back to defend themselves; the Exterminators were the ones who left the weapons there, and he tried to kill the princess and killed a hell-born. Lucifer was in his right to get involved after he went after his daughter.
Still proving that Charlie's plan could work could only make things worse. Sera was already in turmoil over the idea that she had allowed so many sinners to be killed when they could have improved so-
Sera shuddered.
"Charlie is probably devasted-"
Sera held her hand to stop Emily; she looked confused, and she couldn't read the reaction on Sera's face.
"Emily, there is Something I must do. Please take Sir Pentious somewhere. He won't draw attention as we discussed."
Emily relented; it made some sense. She didn't want people upset with him. Emily was afraid some of the exterminators might try to do something to him, or people might try to exclude him for coming from Hell. Emily decided it was best to let people get to know him, and then when they finally got to reveal everything, they'd see he was a good guy.
"Sir Pentious," Emily smiled, "Let me introduce you to the engineering club. I'm sure they will love to see your flying machine."
The moment they left, Sera closed the door and called up the crystal ball. She quickly turned to the Earth and gasped.
"God All Mighty." She covered her hand as tears formed in her eyes.
She was trembling, she was afraid, she was sad. She had seen disasters and horrors that humanity had unleashed onto themselves, but they did nothing to deserve this.
She turned off the crystal and wept for the first time in centuries. The horror she saw was more than she could bear to watch.
EARTH
Location Unknown
O5-1 sat at her desk as she had lunch. Yes, even the all-power O5 council had to eat. However, it wasn't as peaceful as some might suspect. She looked like a woman in her 30s, though she held the air of someone much older. She looked Middle Eastern, maybe from Africa, but had long, silvery hair. She wore a grey pantsuit and ate fruit salad as her assistant reviewed some files.
She bit on the fork.
"Ma'am"
"Somethings wrong."
The alarms started to go off.
The door to her office opened as two of her hands, already armed, came in.
"Ma'am, we have to get you to safety." The rest of her staff were busy trying their jobs, getting every bit of information for her, and deciding the best course of action.
As they went to move her to the bunker, some jumped through the door in a panic.
She saw them crawling their way to them.
"Close the door! Close the door!" The staff quickly closed the door and moved to barricade it.
She picked her staff well.
"What the hell is going on?"
"Ma'am," one of the staff turned a computer to her, and it displayed the news.
For the centuries she'd lived, Eve hadn't seen anything like this before

In her site, O5-2 cursed. "Fuck."
Sofia Light wasn't one to curse; she'd lived through too much stuff and seen too much, but this was new. She was keeping up to date on the SCP she oversaw when the alarm went wild, and the news came in. Right from above, a few guards explained the situation before they died. Sofia hoped they died, though she doubted.
Sofia took a deep breath; well, not really. She didn't breathe, and Sofia wasn't her real name. It was a name she picked up; there was also a researcher with that name, but that situation was complicated enough.
She was already authorizing a complete lockdown; steel doors were closing at every entrance. The people outside were alone if they hadn't already been lost. They'd have to deal with the ones they had inside.
WANDERERS LIBRARY
The Librarians were forcing the thing that came through the way out. It was trying to drag someone out; they would not stand for violence. The strange thing was that thing had been a guest, someone who came in and caused no trouble but left to return a moment later transformed.
They forced it back and the way close. The Library shook as the Serpent moved. Those in the Library couldn't recall the last time the Serpent acted like this.
EARTH
SITE-19
SCP-166 sat in her chamber praying; something felt wrong.
She looked at her room, filled with plants, but those near the window seemed different.
The door swung open; she could hear screaming in the distance. A scruffy older man with a belly and a hat grabbed and pulled her away.
"Stay away from the sun!"
Cleft closed the door behind her.
"We have to get you deeper inside."
SCP-166 didn't know this man; he seemed somewhat familiar; she didn't know why but felt she could trust him.
Then she saw them crawling down the halls as agents tried to fight them.
"God helps us."
"Don't think he's listening right now."
SITE-17
SCP 343 sat in a chamber, one much bigger than it should be, but it was. He sat on his chair and read a book he liked about humanity's endless creation ability. They created whole worlds for stories. There were more than could ever be read, not even counting the stories thought up but never penned.
He found himself reading Paradise Lost, he found himself muttering, "That's not how it happened."
He knew things weren't like that. Lucifer did rebel and cause more trouble than he meant, but he tried to help.
And-
"What? No."
Outside of his chamber, people could be heard screaming. A young-looking man with metal arms and a peculiar symbol on his forehead pushed forward; he stood between them and this creature. They couldn't touch him.
"Cain!" A man with a peculiar necklace yelled, come now, or we are closing the doors on you."
He didn't tell twice. Both of them slipped in before the doors closed.

Under the water, a particular black coffin pushed; SCP 073-1 or Able stood out of it, and his heart trembled; something woke up. He heard the sounds of gunfire and screams. He knew the sensation in the air; a battle had started. The door to the chamber burst open as men rushed in with the guns ready.
Able smiled; it was so rare these soldiers would greet him like this-
Wait- they turned their back on him.
That was offensive to him; no, it's stupid. Turning your back on your enemy, at best, was suicidal. No, something was happening; he would not give the Foundation much credit but would admit their warriors were not so foolish.
No, they came into his chamber for safety.
What would these men he'd tried to kill many times before would be so desperate to escape they'd risk an encounter with him?
He looks down the hall as a sea of monsters flood towards them.
The men prepared their weapons to win or to die. Able smiled again, and a sword appeared in his hands.

In a cell marked 336, a woman rose to her feet; there was no window in her room, not that she cared for one, but right now, she was content to be further underground than most. She could hear the scream as the Foundation did what they could to barricade the entrances. She felt a tinge of power. Something she was sure she felt before. She stroked her once-blonde hair; her raven locks reminded her of what she left behind.
HEAVEN
Saint Peter waited by the gates, working on a crossword. Just something to keep himself busy and his mind active while he waited.
Funny, that wasn't usually a problem. It was so rare that a day went by where no one died; just playing the odds, someone would always get hurt and make their way up to Heaven. He honestly thought it was wonderful, no accidents nor early departures. Then, another day passed and another. It has been a week. No one in a week had crossed the gate.
To his surprise and joy, some popped up, though that joy vanished. It was a kid, a small boy no older than seven. He tried to put on a warm smile. Heaven was great, but he didn't want the kids getting there too early. To lose all those days, the chance to grow up, start a family, and genuinely live still, he tried to greet the child with all the warmth he could provide.
He looked scared, holding his head, tears in his eyes.
Peter rushed to him, "Hey Buddy, it's all okay now. You made it to Heaven."
"Mama had to,"
"What?"
"They were coming; they were breaking down the door."
Peter kept his voice calm, "Try and take a deep breath."
The boy clung to him, scared out of his wits.
"No! No! They got me."
"You're okay, you are the safe place-"
The boy vanished in his arms; Peter took a step back.
He'd seen that before; occasionally, someone would have an accident like falling into the water and make it there, but on Earth, someone would manage to revive them and pull them back. Peter didn't think much about it, but this happened last week. People sacred would show, screaming something was coming for them, and then vanished.
Peter had told the others about this, but none were sure.
0000
Estimates put the first 24 hours at 6.8 billion casualties.
The sun had gone mad and melted all that was touched by its light, turning them into monsters that tried to drag everyone into the sun's light to become like them.
Author's Notes: Hello.
I'm going to be off the bat say that this story is inspired by a fanfic written by TheSilentAssassin called, "One Helluva Broken Day". Where my story differs is that instead of focusing on the imps i plan to focus on the Hotel. Just the HB show isn't for me, but I actually enjoyed HH. The fic hasn't been updated since 2022 and while working on my own scp article and watching the shows I came up with my own plot focusing more on the biblical aspects of the series.
Anyway, I wrote this chapter up to see if anyone would be interested in me doing this story.
Also, if any SCP guys check out the article I wrote for the 8k contest, "Awan" my main goal for my first article is not to get deleted but I'd love if I could get to ten upvotes before the contest ends. Anyway leave a review telling me what you guys think and if I should continue.
