Let it Snow

Patty expresses a desire for snow. In May. Loki happens to be hanging around when she says it, and we all know how that's gonna turn out.

Please understand that I own nothing. I am really tired of saying that over and over.

New York city was recently in an uproar. They had seen aliens on multiple different occasions, insane super-villains whose powers continually defied the laws of physics, and tons of other disasters too numerous to mention. New Yorkers were pretty hardened to whatever the universe decided to throw at them.

But this took the cake.

The city, from Manhattan to Brooklyn to Queens to Harlem and beyond had been blanketed in snow. And not just any snow, the type of snow that belongs in old postcards and corny Christmas movies, the type of snow that makes you feel happy and joyful and hearken back fondly to your childhood.

When it wasn't happening in May.

There had been no warning. No cold snap, no sign of anything out of the ordinary the day before. It had been in the 60s for most of the week, slight showers, but nothing unusual.

And then there was just…snow.

(Adult) people panicked. There may have been more than a few calls to 911. (What could they do about it?). School was canceled. Kids asked no questions, they just enjoyed it.

And the Avengers…assembled.

Steve spread his hands on the table. "Alright, team, what we're dealing with is a villain with extreme power."

Toni rolled her eyes. "No sh-"

Steve gasped. "Language!"

Toni stuck out her tongue. Steve huffed. "Anyway, as I was saying, whoever is causing this unnatural weather shift is either doing it with technology or magic."

Toni flicked a paper football across the table. "Yeah, it's not tech. To generate a storm this massive would have required a really big set up, and I haven't detected anything."

Steve turned to Dr. Stephanie Strange. "What about you Stephanie? Have you found anything?"

She nodded. "There was a significant magical output about midnight. That was probably what generated this snow."

Steve got his time-to-save-the-world look on. "Whoever did this is obviously planning something big, maybe even Chitauri level big, and I'll bet you anything that this is only the first stage."

Toni looked up from her game of table football with Scarlett Lang. "Hey, does anyone know where Patty is? I called her like ten minutes ago. She should be here by now."

Meanwhile in Central Park

Patty tossed an armful of snow up in the air. Loki jumped out of its downward spiral just in time.

Patty rolled a snowball. "Come on Loki, just try it! Snow's really fun!"

Loki smirked. "I shall leave such juvenile enjoyments to you."

Patty gasped in mock horror. " 'Childish'? How dare you!"

She tossed the snowball at him. Loki caught it.

"As you can see, my reflexes are too well-honed for such a blunt frontal attack to work…" The rest of his words were cut off as an enormous amount fell on top of him.

He coughed and glared up at Patty, sitting on a branch and grinning. "How on Midgard did you get up there so fast?" She shrugged. "Just lucky, I guess?"

Loki brushed the snow from his shoulders. "It is ON, Pat."

Then followed the most awesome snow fight the world has ever seen.

Afterwards Patty rolled around in the snow. "It was really nice of you to do this for me, Loki."

Loki put on his innocent face. "Do what?"

"You know, make all this snow and stuff. Just because of what I said yesterday, about wanting snow."

Loki shrugged. "It was no trouble. Think nothing of it."

Patty sat up. "Hey…could I make it snow?"

"You could, after much practice."

Patty tossed some more snow in the air. "Should I take my phone off 'do not disturb'?"

"No. Do you want to get interrupted?"

Patty bit her lip. "But what if Ms. Stark calls me or something?"

Loki rolled his eyes. "I am sure that having to wait for one thing in her life will not kill her."

The next day the snow was gone. And the Avengers never found out what, or who, was the cause of it.

Just a happy short little nothing for ya.

Also I HAVE A COLD! (HACK SNEEZE). So if this seems a little rushed and short that's why.
