Chapter 55.
Confrontation on the island.
A loud noise can be heard in the port.
Yamikumo, Toga, Dabi and Twice take advantage of this to get closer to the children, as well as see what happens. – "What's going on!?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "A-A ship just crashed into the port."- Katsuma said.
Yamikumo looks towards the port and indeed, a ship crashed into it, however the most interesting thing is the four people who are on top of this ship.
- "Those guys... Hea... Izuku! Do you think it's them?"- Dabi asked.
Yamikumo takes a good look at the four people and recognizes them. - "Yes, they have arrived."- He said.
Meanwhile, on the crashed ship Nine begins to give orders. – "Chimera, Mummy, don't let anyone interfere." He said to his men. – "You are in charge of distraction."-
- "Do you need us to do something special?"- Chimera, animalistic-looking man, asked.
– "Do what you want."- Nine said.
- "Understood."- Mummy, the man covered in bandages, said.
- "Alright... it's time to take action." – Nine said. – "Slice…"-
- "I know."- Slice, the only woman in the group, said.
Nine, Chimera, and Mummy jump off the ship while Slice destroys every single ship and boat in the harbor using her hair.
Kiruka Hasashi aka Slice.
Quirk: Slice.
Kiruka's Quirk allows to move, harden, and sharpen her own hair. She is able to use her hair as blades, as well as fire off individual strands of it like needles. Kiruka can also use her hair for defensive purposes, as well as for mobility by using large locks of it as stilts.
- "V-Villains!"- Mahoro said. – "Villains on the island!"-
- "We should call out the heroes!"- Katsuma said.
- "Heroes won't have a chance with these guys…At least not those on this island, they have no experience in real combat."- Yamikumo thought.
- "We have to hide!"- Mahoro said taking Katuma's arm and running from the place.
- "Toga... follow them, don't lose track of them." – Yamikumo said.
- "What? Why?"- Toga asked.
- "If Nine manages to steal the boy's Quirk, it's game over for us, we must prevent that from happening."- Yamikumo said. – "Now go!"-
- "Alright…"- Toga said to quickly follow both children discreetly.
- "Dabi, Twice… Let's split and look for our objectives."- Yamikumo said.
- "Understood!"- Twice said.
- "Sure…"- Dabi said.
Without wasting time the three begin their search.

In the commercial area, several civilians run in terror while trying to escape from Mummy who is destroying everything in his path, using his bandages to manipulate objects and destroy everything around him.

Quirk: Mummification.
Hoyo's Quirk allows him to manipulate his bandages and ensnare anything that gets caught in them. The bandages can be broken with enough force.
If Hoyo captures inanimate objects, he can control them and use them as weaponry. He can't manipulate living things, but he can manipulate any objects they may possess, as well as control people's clothing.
- "This is too easy, without heroes to defend this island the boss will have what he is looking for very easily."- Mummy said, but then several balls of blue and normal fire destroyed the objects he was manipulating. – "What the…"-
- "Hey there! Do you know where I can find a guy named Nine?"- Twice said from the top of a building while next to him were Yamikumo and Dabi.
- "I didn't know there were competent heroes on this island..."- Mummy said. – "You are looking for the boss... well I'm sorry to tell you that they will leave you wondering!"- Quickly, Mummy uses his bandages to entangle more objects causing them to attack Twice.
- "Wow!"- Twice said dodging the attacks but Yamikumo and Dabi don't dodge them which causes them to turn into mud, they were clones. – "That was close!"- Twice creates more clones of Yamikumo, Dabi and Toga and they attack the objects that Mummy controls. – "And for your information... I'm not a hero!"-

In another part of the island, more precisely on the beach, several people escape from the scene while a fight is taking place.
Dabi attacks Chimera with a fireball, but he destroys it with a punch. – "You have a strange appearance for a hero."- Chimera said as he takes two rocks and throws them at Dabi.
Dabi dodges the rocks by propelling himself with fire and then attacks Chimera with a blast of fire. - "Who said I'm a hero?"- He said.
- "Huh…"- Chimera said while with a movement of his tail he creates a gust of wind that disperses the gust of fire. – "You're not a hero... interesting."- Chimera hits the ground and several rocks shoot towards Dabi.
- "Sh*t."- Dabi creates a wall of fire to cover himself from the rocks but then Chimera, with one blow, breaks the wall of fire and hits Dabi, sending him flying.
Dabi crashes to the ground but quickly gets up to dodge another punch from Chimera and then attacks with a burst of fire to make him jump back. – "This guy has a lot of physical strength... I have to keep my distance."- Dabi thought.

Back with Twice and Mummy, both continue with their army confrontation.
A clone of Yamikumo destroys one of Mummy's objects, but as quickly as that happens another object destroys the clone. – "This is annoying... our quirks are similar in terms of creating armies easily... what bothers me is that I can't use their clones against them, they are destroyed as soon as I try to control them."- Mummy thought.
For his part, Twice creates more clones of Yamikumo and Dabi while dodging the attack of one of Mummy's objects. – "This is complicated... I can only create two clones at a time..."-
Little by little the clones begin to lose ground thanks to the difference in quantity against the Mummy objects. – "You have few clones left... you better give up!"- Mummy said.
- "I'm strongly considering it!"- Twice said while dodging several of Mummy's objects. – "If only I had the rest of my things with me... but I left them in my briefcase at the hotel!"-

Meanwhile with Dabi and Chimera, Dabi attacks Chimera with two fireballs but he destroys them easily with his hands while walking towards Dabi. – "Why do you continue with the same thing? It's useless."- Chimera asked, but when he stepped on the ground it lit up blue and a pillar of fire emerged from the sand.
Chimera takes a step back to avoid the fire without realizing that Dabi is behind him. - "I have several tricks up my sleeve!"- Dabi attacks Chimera with a burst of fire but he grabs his arm and deflects the attack and then hits him in the stomach and sends him flying against the seashore.
- "Maybe you're not a hero... but you're already annoying me..."- Chimera said as he calmly walks towards Dabi.

On the other side of the island, the siblings Mahoro and Katsuma are running towards their house. – "Sister, what should we do?!"- Katsuma asked.
- "The phones don't work; we can't call anyone... first let's go to the house and then..."- Mahoro said but was interrupted when the house they were heading to explodes, the explosion makes them fall to the ground as well as knocking off their hats. – "The house…"-
- "I found you… type B."- From among the smoke two yellow flashes shine, Nine emerges from the smoke. – "Little boy... I will steal your quirk."-
This leaves both children surprised but Mahoro still takes courage and stands in front of her brother in an attempt to protect him.
- "Don't worry, I won't kill you..."- Nine said as he slowly walks towards the children.
- "S-Stay away!"- Mahoro said but Nine doesn't stop. – "I say stay away!"-
A lion comes out of Mahoro's palm and attacks Nine, but it passes through him as if nothing had happened, just as Nine remains indifferent. – "I know that's an illusion."- Nine said, getting closer to the children, but what he doesn't realize is that someone is approaching behind him.
Toga appears behind Nine and attacks him with a sickle that she picked up from the fields, however, Nine stops the sickle without even looking back. – "I already knew you were there... I was wondering when you would attack me."- Nine said and then threw Toga against the ground.
Toga gets up from the ground. – "Ouch… That didn't went as I expected..."- She said to herself.
As Toga gets up Nine watches her while his eyes glow yellow. – "A transformation quirk... you can transform into other people... interesting."- Nine said.
Nine.
Quirk: Scanning.
Nine can use this Quirk to identify different Quirks belonging to others and gain a read on their abilities through an infrared-like vision.
- "Who are you and what are you doing here?"- Nine asked. – "Well... I'm not really interested... you better move away."-
- "I'm sorry... but my mission is not letting you get the quirk you want..."- Toga said.
- "Your mission?"- Nine asks curiously. – "How do you know about what I want?"-
- "Sorry… But that is for me to know and for you to never know!"- Toga said as he throws the sickle at Nine but he dodges it easily.
- "Fine by me... in that case... die..."- Nine said and then fired lasers from his fingers.
Nine.
Quirk: Bullet Laser.
Nine uses this Quirk to fire purple-colored lasers from his fingertips at will. This Quirk can easily pierce through human flesh and many other solid surfaces.
Toga quickly jumps and dodges the lasers. – "I found Nine... I need help."- Toga said using the earpiece.
- *I'm kind of busy here!* - Dabi said.
- *There are two of us, friend!*- Twice said.
- "That's bad…"- Toga said as she continues to dodge the lasers. – "If only I had my knives with me... but I left them in my briefcase!"- Suddenly, one of the lasers touched her leg, causing her to fall to the ground.
- "How reckless of you to think you could beat me..."- Nine said. – "Now die."-
Nine was about to attack Toga but a burst of fire hits him, raising some smoke and dust.
- "My hunch was true."- Yamikumo said as he lands in front of Toga.
- "Ya... Izuku-kun!"- Toga said.
- "Hikari... are you okay?"- Yamikumo asked.
- "Yes."- Toga said. – "A small wound won't defeat me."-
Yamikumo looks back and sees Mahoro and Katsuma, frozen in fear and shock at what is happening. – "Take the children as far away as you can."- He said. – "We have to stop him from stealing the quirk."-
- "Right!"- Toga said as she takes Mahoro and Katsuma in her arms.
- "What's going on? Who are you?"- Mahoro asked.
- "That guy wants to steal the boy's quirk; our mission is to prevent that and put an end to him."- Toga said.
- "Are you heroes?"- Katsuma asked.
- "We are not and we never will be."- Toga said.
Toga tries to leave but several hairs block her way. – "Sorry for the delay boss... but I had a feeling I could be of help."- Slice said arriving at the scene.
- "I didn't need it... but it would make things easier for me."- Nine said as the smoke clears and reveals that Nine is unharmed while several air barriers protect him.
Nine.
Quirk: Air Wall.
Nine can use this Quirk to create a transparent barrier made of pressurized air to shield himself in a particular direction.
- "Sh*t… he's unharmed."- Yamikumo said as he looks at Nine and then at Slice, finally seeing the sickle on the ground. – "Hikari!"- Yamikumo uses his telekinesis to throw the sickle at Toga who leaves the children on the ground and takes the sickle and then attacks Slice.
- "Fire and telekinesis... your quirk is very impressive and has very good potential."- Nine said. – "If only I didn't have a single slot for one more quirk I would steal it."-
- "I don't know who you are and I don't care... but you get in the way of my plans... that's why you must die!"- Nine attacks with a strong gust of wind but Yamikumo manages to contain it using his fire.
The impact of the attacks raises a smoke screen which is used by Yamikumo to attack Nine. – "Red fire roar!"- Yamikumo attacks Nine with a fire punch but he protects himself with the air wall and then uses it to send Yamikumo flying.
- "That attack was quite strong for someone his age... that boy can't be older than a student..."- Nine thought and then looked at Toga who is fighting with Slice. – "And that girl too... they are so young that they should be students... yet they are skilled, even more than some professional heroes."-
- "Do not get distracted!"- Yamikumo said approaching Nine and attacking with a strong burst of fire.
Meanwhile, Toga attacks Slice with the sickle, but the woman is quite skilled and manages to dodge Toga's attacks.
Slice tries to attack Toga with hair but she dodges it and manages to cut a lock with the sickle, however, another hair catches her leg and knocks her down and then tangles her. – "I got you!"- Slice said.
Meanwhile, Yamikumo charges at Nine who creates a wall of wind to protect himself. – "Meteor Burst!"- Yamikumo hits the air wall with multiple fiery punches, slowly cracking the air wall.
- "Impossible... his power has increased."- Nine thought as he saw what Yamikumo was achieving.
After punching multiple times, Yamikumo manages to break Nine's air wall, much to Nine's surprise, and hits him with a strong fiery punch straight to Nine's face. – "Red fire roar!"- The blow manages to knock Nine down.
- "You dare…"- Nine said as some clouds formed in the sky. – "Get out of my way!"- Lightning strikes and knocks Yamikumo down.
Nine looks at Yamikumo who is motionless on the ground. – "Now... to what I was going for."- Nine said as he starts to walk towards Katsumo but suddenly the body pain makes him kneel.
- "Nine!"- Slice said worried about her boss.
- "No… not me…. The boy…"- Nine said with difficulty while pointing towards Katsuma.
- "I see… Understood!"- Slice said and then headed towards Katsuma but then a wall of fire came between her and Katsuma as well as burning the hair that had Toga trapped.
Taking advantage of this, Toga takes the sickle and attacks Slice, managing to cut her on the cheek and then stab it into Slice's leg. – "Hindrances!"- Nine said as he attacks Toga with a blast of air.
Slice tries to take Katsuma but Yamikumo propels himself with his fire and manages to take Katsuma in his arms. – "Hikari! Grab Mahoro and let's get out of here!" - Yamikumo said as he released a large amount of fire in his feet to propel himself away from there.
Toga gets up and tries to grab Mahoro.
- "Slice, take the girl!"- Nine said while Toga tries to grab Mahoro but Slice's hair comes forward and grabs Mahoro.
Toga just watches as Mahoro slips out of her hands, something inside her reproaches her for her failure, something makes her not want the girl to be captured. – "Mahoro-chan!"- Toga said.
- "Big Sis Hokari!"- Mahoro said but a gust of wind sends Toga flying away.
- "Damn...those bastards."- Nine said breathing heavily.
- "Don't worry, you won't be able to escape from the island, I made sure of that... rest for now."- Slice said. – "Plus, we have the perfect bait to attract the boy."- Slice looks at Mahoro who is caught in her hair.

Back to the fight between Twice and Mummy, the latter attacks Twice with his sword, but he dodges it and kicks him away. – "This is not finished yet!"- Twice said but then Yamikumo's voice sounded in his earpiece.
- *Yuji, Toya, retreat! They are stronger than expected, we will meet at hotel room.* -
- "Looks like it's time for me to leave!"- Twice said as he creates a clone of Yamikumo and one of Dabi who shoot a fireball at the ground creating a screen of smoke.
Mummy attacks both clones and destroys them and then uses his bandages to clear the smoke but Twice was gone. – "He escaped… coward."- At that Mummy sees a flare in the sky. – "It's time to retreat."- Without further ado, Mummy leaves the place.

On the beach, Dabi continues his fight against Chimera.
Chimera hits the ground and several rocks are thrown at Dabi who shoots fireballs to destroy the rocks. – "I have to increase the power..."- Dabi thought but then Yamikumo's voice sounded in his earpiece.
- *Yuji, Toya, retreat! They are stronger than expected, we will meet at hotel room.* -
- "Couldn't be better!"- Dabi said and then fired a large burst of fire at Chimera.
Seeing this, Chimera shoots a burst of fire from its mouth.
Both gusts of fire collide and create a screen of smoke, Chimera waves his tail to create a gust of wind to clear the smoke but to his surprise Dabi was no longer there. – "He escaped... Smart choice."- Chimera said and then saw a flare in the sky. – "It seems like it's over."- Chimera leaves the place.

Yamikumo lands on the balcony of the hotel room, he is surprised to see that everything is off, apparently there is a blackout since the lights do not turn on even if he tries. – "A blackout… Probably from the lightning that struck."- Yamikumo leaves Katsuma on the bed and sits down to rest.
- "My sister... where is my sister?" – Katsuma asked.
- "First of all, you're welcome for saving you."- Yamikumo said as he illuminates the room with his fire. – "Second, probably..."-
Yamikumo doesn't finish speaking as Dabi lands on the balcony of the room. – "Why did I agree to this?"- Dabi said as he sits on the ground to rest, then he looks at Katsuma. – "I see you have the boy."-
Yamikumo does not respond as Twice arrives at that moment. - "What a complicated day, don't you think?"- Twice said.
- "Yeah…"- Yamikumo said.
Finally Toga is the last to arrive, but she arrives without Mahoro. – "Hikari... where is the girl?"-
Toga doesn't say anything and looks at Katsuma. – "I'm sorry... they captured her."- She said.
- "W-What?!"- Katsuma said. – "No, this can't be!"-
- "Calm down kid, will you?"- Dabi said.
- "How do you want me to calm down?!"- Katsuma said. – "My sister was captured and they will probably kill her!"-
- "They will not."- Yamikumo said. – "It is not convenient for them to kill what will help them attract you to them."-
- "They will keep her alive to use her as bait."- Dabi said.
- "I'm going to save her."- Toga said. – "I will save her, I promise!"-
- "I… Thank you…"- Katsuma said. – "Anyway... who are you? Are you heroes?"-
- "We are not heroes."- Yamikumo said. – "I'm Izuku, this is Hikari, the man is Yuji and the guy with white hair is Toya."-
- "If you are not heroes... what are you doing here?"- Katsuma asked.
- "Our mission is to make sure we take down Nine and his people, as well as prevent him from stealing your Quirk."- Yamikumo said.
Katsuma doesn't say anything, right now what he's worried about is his sister.
Just then the door opens and the receptionist enters. – "What are you doing here? We must evacuate to the refugee bunker, there is a blackout across the island."- The receptionist said. – "Please come with me."-
Toga, Dabi and Twice look at Yamikumo, waiting for orders. – "Okay, we'll follow you."- Yamikumo said, carrying Katsuma and taking his briefcase, the rest take their respective briefcases and follow him.

Elsewhere on the island, Nine sleeps while Slice takes care of him.
Just then the door to the room opens and Mummy and Chimera enter the room. – "How is he?"- Chimera asked.
- "He will be fine; he will recover in a few hours."- Slice said.
Chimera looks at the room and sees Mahoro sitting on the floor with her hands tied. – "At least we captured the target."- Chimera said.
- "No... it's not her."- Slice said.
- "And what is she doing here?"- Mummy asked.
- "Her brother is the target and she will be the bait to attract him."- Slice said. - "Once the boss recovers we will start with the plan to attract the boy to us."-

Yamikumo, with Katsuma in his arms, Dabi, Toga and Twice arrive at the refugee bunker, as they enter, people begin to see them, an old lady approaches them when she sees Katsuma. – "Katsuma-kun, I'm glad you're okay."- She said. – "Where is Mahoro-chan?"-
Katsuma lowers his head. - "The villains have her captured."- He said.
- "Oh no! That's horrible!"- The old lady said.
- "Don't worry, we will save her."- Yamikumo said.
- "Huh? Who are you?" – The old lady asked. – "And why is Katsuma with you?"-
- "It's okay... they prevented me from being captured too."- Katsuma said.
- "Is that so…"- The old lady said.
- "Wait…"- A civilian said as he approaches. – "You are the ones who faced those villains!"- He said referring to Dabi and Twice.
- "Yeah... I guess you saw us."- Dabi said.
- "Are you heroes?"- The civilian asked.
- "Of course not, we're not that pathetic."- Dabi said.
- "So what are you?"- The old lady asked.
- "That doesn't matter... we have a mission and that is to finish off those guys who attacked the island."- Yamikumo said.
- "I guess that's better than nothing... we don't have a way to ask for help... so I guess you're all we have."- The old lady said. – "Please come in and make yourself comfortable, you will need to rest."-
- "We... appreciate the hospitality."- Yamikumo said. – "I promise you we will take down those guys."-
- "Stop the drama, we are not the good guys, it is just a coincidence that our mission benefits them."- Dabi whispered to Yamikumo.
- "Shut up, it's better to have them on our side than against us."- Yamikumo whispered back. – "So for once try to be nice to people."-
- "Fine…"- Dabi said.
- "Very well... we will take a break to recover and prepare ourselves correctly this time to face them."- Yamikumo said. – "We'll also need a plan to rescue Mahoro-chan and take down those guys."-
- "You and your heroism... my priority is to kill those guys; the rescue is secondary."- Dabi said.
- "We'll talk about that later, for now let's rest."- Yamikumo said.

Morning has come and Toga wakes up, still feeling bad for letting Mahoro be captured. – "Why do I feel this way... I'm not supposed to care... but I can't help but feel this way..."- Toga thought. – "She reminds me of me when I was her age... so innocent... I won't let her go through the same thing I did."-
Toga gets up and joins Dabi and Twice who are eating. – "You finally wake up."- Dabi said.
- "It was... a heavy night."- Toga said. – "Where is Ya… I mean… Where is Izuku-kun?"-
Dabi points behind him. - "He's been there since he woke up." - Behind Dabi, Yamikumo is looking at a table where there are several figures on a map, the figures are made of wood and are stylized to look like them, Katusma, Mahoro and Nine and his people. – "He keeps thinking about what to do."-
Just then, the screens in the bunker turn on and show Nine. - *Greetings, inhabitants of Nabu.* - Nine said. – *I am Nine and I and my people were the ones who attacked the island.*-
- "It's them!"-
- "What are they planning?"-
- *I'll be honest with you; I have no desire to continue with all this... but I can't leave until I achieve my goal... there is a boy on this island named Katsuma Shimano... if you bring him to me... I promise that I will leave this island.* - Nine said.
- "They want Katsuma?"-
- "We would never hand Katsuma-kun over to villains!"-
- *Obviously I know you'll never give him to me so... Katsuma-kun... you'll want to see this.* - Nine stood aside showing Mahoro tied by her hands while Chimera, Mummy and Slice are behind her. – *You already know this, but we have your sister... I'll make you an offer... we haven't done anything to her and I promise we won't do anything to her… However... for us to free her you will have to surrender yourself.* -
- "Sister!"- Katsuma said.
- *I don't have much time for this so you'll have until nightfall to turn yourself in... or else you'll force me to do something I don't want to do.* - Nine said. – *The decision is yours Kazuma-kun, we will be waiting on Mount Shiroyama... we will see what is more important to you, your sister's life, or your quirk.* -
- *Katsuma! Do not listen to them! Do not come!* - Mahoro said.
- *You have until nightfall... I hope you make the right one... for your sister's sake.* - After this the transmission ends.
- "Mahoro!"- Katsuma said as he tries to leave the bunker but is stopped by the people. – "I have to go! I can't let them hurt her!"-
- "Katsuma-kun, please calm down... they must be lying to attract you!"- The old lady said.
- "They weren't lying."- Dabi said. - "If the boy doesn't go, they will kill her."-
- "But we can't let him get what he wants!"- Twice said.
- "I won't let that guy do anything to Mahoro-chan! I'll kill him before he can touch her!"- Toga said.
- "I'm sure they would do something to her if they see you, or anyone besides the boy, approaching."- Dabi said.
- "But we have to save her!"- Katsuma said. – "And the only way is for me to go to him!"-
- "No... there is another way."- Yamikumo said.
- "Do you finally have a plan?"- Dabi asked.
- "Yes… We're going to give Nine what he wants."- Yamikumo said. – "But not in the way he wants."-

The first confrontation has occurred and things did not go so well for our protagonists but at least they managed to prevent Nine from completing his mission.
Even so, Mahoro is now captured by Nine and the only way to save her is for Katsuma to surrender... what will be Yamikumo's plan?
Well we will know that in the next chapter!
We also have a change in Toga who, despite the short time she has known Mahoro, has formed a bond with her.
And this will not be the only thing, all the participants will begin to change little by little and after the arc they will have a character evolution, you will see.
