Chapter Two

Decisions About Hogwarts

It didn't take long for Harry to finish eating, (given he still felt extremely sick it wasn't surprising) Harry leaned into Severus's touch as they led the small group of family and friends back through Hogwarts until they once again reached the Headmaster's office. Turning to look at his best friends he couldn't help but chuckle at the shear shock on Hermione's face as the Stone Gargoyle jumped aside refusing to accept the password from him.

Taking a breath out he took the lead, simply wanting to curl up on his comfortable chair. However he knew until Seveus's name was cleared he would be unable to do that. His role in life now was to protect his growing family, it hasn't gone unnoticed to him that Professor McGonagall and Minister Shacklebolt had joined them eyeing his husband suspiciously.

"Before either of you say anything, you need to know that my husband is innocent, he wasn't and never has been a Death Eater. He has however been a spy in Voldemort's recruits on Dumbledore's orders." Harry said quietly staying close to Severus as he looked at his head of house carefully. "Everything he's done has been because Dumbledore ordered it."

"Husband?" Minerva asked looking between the boy she looked upon as a grandson and the Headmaster.

"Spy?" Minister Shacklebolt asked looking at Severus.

"That's right Albus was already dying from a dark curse, Draco had been ordered to kill him, he's my godson I could not let him have that terror on his conscience for life. He begged me to kill him," Severus said quietly.

Harry felt sick again as he thought about what could happen, he only hoped that Minister Shacklebolt would listen to his husband. "I was there, we had just returned from hunting down on of the Horcruxes and Draco entered the astronomy tower, he was a wreck saying that Voldemort had ordered him to kill Dumbledore, but before he could utter the spell Severus came, Dumbledore begged to die." He said quietly leaning his head into Severus's chest.

"I believe you Harry, you wouldn't lie to me and I've worked alongside Severus long enough to know that he protects the ones he loves." Minerva said softly. "Congratulations."

"Thank you professor." Harry said softly looking toward the Minister.

"You've never lied to us before and I don't think that you are lying now. We will however need pensive memories from both of you. As far as I'm concerned the case is closed. I offer my congratulations and offer Severus the position of Headmaster officially."

"Thank you Kingsley. I would very much like that, but if Harry decides to return to Hogwarts to complete his final year he stays here with me," Severus said softly laying his hand against Harry's stomach, "We are having a baby." He said proudly.

"Congratulations, your parents would be very proud of you Harry." Professor McGonagall said softly. "If you need anything during your pregnancy don't be afraid to ask."

"Morning sickness arrived a little while before the final battle, there are certain foods I can't even look at let alone eat." Harry said softly rubbing his stomach as it turned. "Excuse me," he said quietly making a rush for the bathroom as his stomach rebelled again.

"If you'll excuse me my husband needs me, I shall send out Hogwarts letters as soon as possible. That is if you don't mind me being headmaster again Minister?" Severus said softly.

"Given the memories we have seen I am dropping all charges against you. You protected the students to the best of your ability without giving away your status as a spy. Harry won't be made to sleep in the dorms I don't think it's fair on either of you." Kingsley explained. "I will let the Wizengarmot know of my decision."

"Thank you. I know not everyone will be happy about it but I wouldn't change anything." Severus said softly looking torn toward the bathroom before turning toward Minerva and Kingsley again. "We will be down for supper soon. If you'll excuse me."

"Of course we will see you soon." Minerva said as she left the Headmaster's office alongside Kingsley turning to smile at Severus. Finally her two favourite students got to be happy.

Severus made his way into the bathroom closing the door over as he knelt next to Harry on the floor rubbing his back as he leant over the toilet bowl vomiting again. He hated to see his husband feeling unwell however he knew it was simply part of pregnancy. Harry rested his head back against Severus's chest as he took small breaths out, making sure he wasn't going to throw up again before flushing the chain.

"They shouldn't call it morning sickness when it lasts all day." Harry said softly rubbing his queasy stomach gently, "I know I need to eat something let's go and see if there's something I can eat." Harry mumbled quietly making a face.

"As long as you're sure. I can see your still feeling nauseous." Severus said softly helping his husband to his feet as he began to brush his teeth."

"I'm sure just make sure there's no chicken or beef anywhere near me the sight of it makes me sick." Harry said quietly rinsing his mouth out as he rubbed his stomach. "Do you think mum and dad had portraits made?"

"I'm not sure that would require a trip to Gringotts." Severus said thoughtfully.

"They won't be very happy with me." Harry said quietly as they left their quarters to return to the Great Hall. "Hermione, Ron and I may have broken in to steal Hufflepuff's cup from Bellatrix's vault. Don't worry I didn't go in I stayed outside underneath my invisibility cloak but he'd turned it into a Horcrux."

"Perhaps writing a letter explaining your actions would be beneficial before we make the journey." Severus said softly.

"That sounds like a good idea." Harry agreed leaning against Severus as they entered the Great Hall together hoping there was something that he could stomach.

Heading toward the Head Table where everyone was seated Harry leaned his head against Severus's shoulder as he placed some saltine crackers and apples onto his plate nibbling on the end of one as ginger ale appeared in front of him, looking toward Professor McGonagall he smiled softly knowing that his Head of House would be keeping a close eye on him. Not only her but Remus would likely be determined to keep tracks on him. Life was good for the first time in a long time.

️It didn't take long for Harry to finish eating, knowing that everything else was only going to make him sick as soon as they returned to their quarters. Pulling out a sheet of parchment and his Quill already dipped in ink he started to write out a letter to Gringotts explaining everything that had happened in the past few months including why they'd broken into Bellatrix's vault. Once he was finished his heart broke as he remembered Hedwig had been killed.

Turning toward his husband he gave a small smile his eyes widening in shock as he saw the snowy white owl sitting next to him. Taking a shaky breath he stroked the owl's feathers realising that this was not a replacement owl. He felt the familiar bond instantly. Looking into Severus's onyx eyes he knew that his husband had saved his familiar.

"How?" Harry asked quietly as he tied the letter to Hedwig's leg.

"After you were collected from The Dursley's and she saved you, I brought her back here, it wasn't the killing curse she was hit by, it was a light stunning spell. After nursing her back to health she seemed to know that she wasn't able to go to you no matter how much she wanted to."

"Thank you, I thought I'd lost her," Harry said tearfully watching as Hedwig flew off to Gringotts with his letter.

"I'd do anything for you Harry. Are you finished eating?" Severus asked.

"Mmhm, can we go just looking at the food is making me feel sick." Harry admitted quietly.

"Of course. It's time you slept." Severus said softly helping Harry to his feet as they left the Head table.

"I'll speak to you guys soon. I'm sorry." Harry said quietly looking toward Remus and Tonks smiling slightly.

"You have a baby to look after now cub. We understand," Remus said softly.

"Thanks Moony." Harry said softly rubbing his stomach grimacing, something his husband didn't miss.

"Alright time for you to rest." Severus said quietly as he led Harry from the Great Hall and back to their quarters behind the Headmaster's office. Once the door shut he made his way into the bedroom getting undressed and into bed closely followed by Severus. The moment his husband lay down Harry reacted his head against his husband's chest thankful to be home. Completely exhausted after the events of the day it wasn't long before Harry was asleep his breathing evening out. Life was good.
