After the battle of New Ephyra the COG embarks on a new strategy. It will evacuate portions of its population to protected enclaves far from the war. Site 13 however is having issues. A new Governor is selected and dispatched to fix the delays. If any of them knew what path this assignment would take, would they accept?

Humanity survived the war, at the cost of itself in the end. Sera was a shell of its former self and there wasn't anything left to do but rebuild from the ashes. One man wouldn't get to see that so soon; his curiosity leading him to something that was considered a once in a lifetime event, and a series of unfortunate events. Remnant would soon know of his tale through his actions.

A brand new chance at life can be a gift. For one man it seems that way. At least for a while. For now he has to help a bumbling team of Huntresses make it through their schooling. He only hopes his past doesn't spring up to haunt him and the rest of the world.

Benjamin Carmine was supposed to die in the Riftworm, saved through mysterious circumstances, he now faces a world of bloody evolution and new enemies that seek Humanity's destruction. The battlefield may've changed, the enemy may be different, but the duty of a Gear remains the same.
