Ch 4 Tempests Taking on the Chimeric Lord
After finishing their snacks and replenishing their Magicules, the group continued their way through the corridor of the Labyrinth. "Alright," Harry looks ahead, seeing a large silver door before them. "That must be the entrance of the final floor."
"And where the floor boss is at." Shinsha looks at Albert and Myrtle, standing behind them like always.
"So whoever is waiting for us there is probably one of dad's Patrons," Harry stated, knowing that their father put someone challenging at the end.
Shinsha looks at her brother, listening to him talking. "I wonder who Papa placed on the final floor of our quest." The Pink Slime taps her chin. "Both Myrtle-chan and Albert-san can't help us any further."
Harry's eyes look at the Pink Slime, commenting on their Subordinates. "Really? They're only here to supervise our progress." The heir of Tempest reinformed his Sister of the two's purpose on their quest.
"Yes, don't mind us, young master, young lady." Albert waved his hand, indicating for them to ignore him and Myrtle.
Myrtle nodded, agreeing with her fellow Undead. "Mmm-mmm,"
Shinsha sighs, "So, how do you want to proceed with this, Onii-san?" She asked her brother, curious what their plan of action.
Harry thought for a moment, looking at the end of the hall. 'What do you think, Raphael?' The Arch Mage asked his Ultimate Skill for her insights,
{Suggestion: Due to unavailable data, the only option is to proceed with caution.} Raphael responded, giving the best answer she could give for the moment.
'I see…well thanks.' Harry looks at his Sister and the other two members of their group. "Alright, I have a plan in mind to face the floor boss." The black-haired boy smiles confidently.
Shinsha looks at her brother curiously about this plan of his. "What plan is it, Onii-san?" The Pink Slime asked.
"We are to proceed with caution," Harry held his Sword, readying to face the Floor Boss their father placed. "Let's go," He walks forward, leading the group down the hall.
"Hai," The group followed the heir of Tempest down the hall, they encountered many mob monsters through their journey, but they plow through them with ease.
They manage to arrive at a huge door, and Harry and Shinsha stood before it. The two looked around the sides for any signs of a lever or a button to open it. "Did you find any buttons, Shinsha?" Harry asked, approaching the sides.
Shinsha shook her head, seeing no signs of any trigger to open the huge door. "Nope, I don't see anything like that here," The Pink Slime replied, looking once more if she missed anything.
Harry nodded looking back at the door. He placed his hand on his chin, looking at the door again. "There must be something we're missing here," He said to himself.
"Have an open eye, and the answer shall be revealed." The Siblings turned around where Albert and Myrtle were standing behind them.
"What do you mean, Albert-san?" Shinsha asked the Death Paladin, not sure what his words were just now.
Harry ponders on what Albert said. He looked at the door while thinking about Albert's sentence, 'Have an open eye, and the answer shall be revealed.' He repeated his words. He blinks, realizing what he means.
'Raphael, can you do a scan of the door?' The Arch Mage asked his Ultimate Skill for her insight.
{Notice: The door entering the final floor has a Magic mechanism that requires Magic to open.} Raphael quickly scanned the door just as her master requested. {Suggestion: To open the door, use your Sister and your power to unlock the mechanism.}
'Gotcha,' Harry steps forward, following his Ultimate Skill's advice. "Shinsha, can you help me here?" He asked his Sister for her assistants.
Shinsha blinks, curious about what her brother has in mind. "Onii-san, do you have a plan to get past the door?" She asked the Arch Mage if that was his plan.
Harry nodded, pointing to the other side of the door, "I believe the key is using Magic to open the door." He explains to the group. "Shinsha, go to the left side while it takes the right."
"Kay!" Shinsha skips over to the left side of the door as Harry walks over to the right.
They both raised their hands at the door, "Alright…now!" Flames burst through Harry's hand while water burst through Shinsha's.
The two attacks hit the circle on each door, causing the colors of their respective elements to shine in the cracks. Soon the door slowly opened, letting out smoke from within. "It's working, Oni-san!" Shinsha cried out happily.
"Keep going until the door is fully opened!" The Arch Mage ushers his Sister, seeing the door almost open.
{Notice: There's a strong Magicule presence from within the room you're entering.} Rapheal informed his master of the strong monster from the other side of the door.
Harry nodded, feeling the aura as well. 'Thank you, Raphael.' He thanked the disembodied voice in his head.
Soon the door became fully opened, echoing within the Labyrinth. The two Siblings ceased their attacks, resting a bit before entering the final floor of their quest. "W-We did it, we actually did it." Harry lets out a small chuckle, sitting on the rocky ground.
Shinsha too sat on the ground, wanting to rest before entering. "We're almost there, Onii-san. Soon we can go home and relax." The Pink Slime laughs, falling on her back.
"Yeah, I'm planning to hit the outdoor bath when this is all over." Harry chuckled, feeling sweaty and icky on his body.
Albert and Myrtle step forward, looking down at the Children of their Lord. "Take a good rest you two. Your fight has only just begun." The Death Paladin informed the two.
"On the other side is one of the Tw-you know what…" Myrtle smiles, finding the opportune moment to play a little trick on them. "You have to find out who's waiting at the door." The Chaos Doll smiles,
Harry chuckled seeing these two aren't giving any clear answers, "So let me guess, you two can't give any more assistance to us, right?" He asked the two Undead.
Albert nodded, "Yes, young master. Your father wants you two to finish this on your own-"
Shinsha steps forward, waving her hand at the two. "It's fine, we kinda knew that Papa wants us to do this on our own."
"Just stand back and watch from a safe distance you guys," Harry smiles, walking inside the Boss Floor with his Sister beside him.
"Wish us luck you two!" The Pink Slime skips over to her brother's side, entering the Boss Floor of their punishment.
Myrtle looks over to Albert, a bit curious if the Siblings can beat the Floor Boss. "Sir Albert, what do you think they can beat the Floor Boss?" The Chaos Doll asked the Death Paladin if the Children of Rimuru can beat her.
"I believe they can now come. There's an observation deck for onlookers to see the battle between Adventurers and the Floor Boss." Albert walks over to the stone wall, placing his hand on the bricks.
The wall suddenly opened to a doorway entrance to the observation deck. "This Labyrinth is filled with surprises." Myrtle blinks, seeing the secret entrance within the stone wall. "I wonder what other surprises are inside."
Albert walks into the doorway, smiling at the Chaos Doll. "You have to find that out yourself. In the meantime, let's head to the observation deck to better see the fight." The Death Paladin stated.
Myrtle nodded, following her fellow Undead into the doorway, where they can see the Tempest Children fight.
On the Final Floor of their punishment, both Shinsha and Harry are cautiously walking inside unsure of what awaits them.
"So, who do you think we're going to face down here?" Harry asked his Sister beside him.
"I'm not sure Onii-san, there are many possibilities on who might be waiting for us down here," Shinsha commented, looking around the regal room. Now that she got a good look at the room, it was different unlike the other parts of Ramiris's Labyrinth where it was rocky. The Boss room was like a throne room with chandeliers hung on the ceiling.
Harry turns his head, looking around the room for any signs of the Floor Boss. "Seems like no one's here-" Just as the Arch Mage said flames burst near the end of the room.
There stood a familiar face, someone that Harry didn't really know but saw her time to time. The Chimeric Lord, Kumara; Cryptid, or Fox Spirit serves as a member of their father's Twelve Patrons.
"Welcome, young master and lady to the Boss Floor!" The brown-haired Fox greeted the children of her Lord and master. Kumara smiles upon seeing the two standing before them. "I was expecting you two to show yourselves."
"Kumara-sama!" Shinsha smiles, recognizing the Ten Lords of the Labyrinth and their father's Twelve Patrons. "I kinda expect one of the Ten Lords was waiting for us here!" The Pink Slime smiles.
Harry blinks, seeing the person he saw a few times. He jumps when her eyes lie on him, "Harry-sama, it's been a while." The Chimeric Lord greeted the heir of Tempest. "The only time we've truly spoken was when you first arrived in Tempest."
"Y-Yeah, s-sorry for not talking to you more, Lady Kumara." Harry rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, apologizing for not speaking more to the Fox Spirit.
Kumara waved her hands at her Lord's heir, not mining at all. "Oh don't be like that, Harry-sama." The brunette said, "I'm the one who should be apologizing to you young master. I was too caught up with my duties as one of the Ten Lords of the Labyrinth that I didn't make an effort to truly know you." She continues.
"After all, you'll be taking over as Lord of Tempest when…(please forgive me) Rimuru-sama retires someday." The Chimeric Lord stated. "But that would probably never happen in a long time!" She laughs, knowing how her Lord doesn't leave everything to his Subordinates.
Harry and Shinsha sigh, knowing that fact about their Father. "Yeah…you're probably right." The two spoke in unison.
The Siblings looked at each other before chuckling slightly.
Kumara smiles seeing that the two Siblings who barely got along are now acting like proper Siblings. She jumps down from the platform, standing before the two, "As much I want to let you go since Rimuru-sama's goal is to get you two along work. It's my job to put that on a test."
"Huh? What do you mean, Kumara-sama?" Shinsha asked, getting a strange feeling from how she said that.
Harry carefully grabs the hilt of his Katana, preparing for an attack.
"Simple, young Lady," Kumara held out her hand, tails appeared behind her back. Two tails came off and became golden orbs. "We're here to fight you two,"
One orb became a white ape with a Staff behind his back, the other is a white tiger with lighting covering his body. "Meet two of my eight tails, Raiko the Tiger and Byakuen the Martial Arts master." She held her hands to the children in her room. "Listen up, Harry-sama, Shinsha-sama, if you want to return to the surface then face me, the Chimeric Lord in battle!"
Shinsha turns to her Brother for his opinion. "We can't leave the Labyrinth unless we defeat her, right?" The Slime said to him.
"Yep, that's what she said just a few moments ago," Harry confirms what his Sister said.
"Then…" Shinsha readied herself, smirking at the enemies before them. "I shall take Raiko, Papa says that he can use lightning attacks. I can handle that,"
Harry nodded, eyeing the White Tiger beside the Monkey. "Then I got Byakuen, I know how to use Martial Arts from Master Hakurou."
The two agreed with their plans and were ready to act. "If you two are one then I'll make the first move," Kumara held out her hand, "Attack!"
Both Raiko and Byakuen charged for the Tempest Siblings, and they retaliate by charging in.
Harry held his Katana to the side, jumping in the air. "Take this!" He said, aiming at Byakuen.
Shinsha swipes her hands to the side, creating icicles out of thin air. "Icicle Spears!" She propels the icicles at the White Tiger,
Kumara smiles, looking at her tails about to take the attacks. "Switch,"
Both Byakuen and Raiko swap places with each other, now facing different opponents. Raiko took Harry and Byakuen has Shinsha.
"What!?" Harry slides to the floor, dodging a lightning bolt from the White Tiger.
Byakuen used his Staff to smash through the icicles, Shinsha was shocked by the sudden switch in opponents. She looks at her Brother and both leaps back before the two tails attack.
They landed a good foot away from the two opponents, enough to devise another plan. "They suddenly switch their attacks," Harry said, still coming over it. "They're good,"
"Should we try to attack once more?" Shinsha asked her brother if that was the plan.
Harry took a look at their opponents, smiling at their situation. He can't get a read on their next move; they might do the same swap as they did moments ago or not. The only option is to wing it and see where it'll lead. "Follow my lead, if not then I'm open to any suggestions." He stated.
Shinsha agreed with the current plan, "If you're not going to attack then we'll do it for you!" the Pink Slime and Arch Mage looked at the Chimeric Lord shouting.
"Raiko! Go in!" Kumara ordered the White Tiger,
Raiko roars loudly in the room, Lightning generated in every inch of his body before bolts were released at the two,
Shinsha quickly acted, stepping in front of her Brother. She held out her hand and shouted, "Black Lightning!" She exclaimed.
Black bolts of Lightning were shot out from the Spells Circles she created, each bolt countered Raiko's own. The bolts of Lightning were continuing to discharge but managed to prevent any of them reach Harry.
The Pink Slime looks back at Harry, giving him an opening. "I made an opening for you, Onii-san!"
"Thanks Shinsha!" Harry rushed forward, passing his Sister and leaping over lightning.
Byakuen saw the young master leap over his fellow tail, the White Ape jumps in the air to counter his attack.
Harry saw the Ape thrust his Staff at him causing him to deflect his attack with his Katana. "Sei!" He pushed down his blade allowing him to knee kick him at the side.
The White Ape was now at Raiko's side, both tails were surrounded by the children of their Lord and master. They looked at each other, nodding to continue with their attacks,
Harry landed on the ground, catching the nod between the two. He turns to Shinsha who also caught the subtle movement.
Kumara observes the fight between her tails and her Lord's children. She smiles at the subtle communication between the two. 'Interesting, that's what I like to see you two. The more you guys work together the more powerful you will be.' She smiles before getting serious.
"Alright, Byakuen, Raiko, go in for another attack! Maneuver two!" The Chimeric Lord order her tails to attack with one of their attack patterns.
"Maneuver two!?" Shinsha turns to Harry, knowing that maneuver from a talk from the adventurers who faced Kumara. "Onii-san, be careful I heard about this maneuver!" She warns him.
Harry saw the shock on his Sister's face, he can tell this maneuver that the two tails were about to do is something to be warry about. "Got it," He brought up his blade in preparation for the attack.
Raiko roars, generating an electric current around him. It burst throughout the room, causing paralysis to whoever gets caught.
"Onii-san!" Shinsha quickly switches to her Pink Slime form, then switches back.
Harry saw Shinsha right in front of him, holding out her hand at the incoming attack. With a swipe of her hand, she generated an ice wall that deflects the electric wave.
The wave was deflected, not affecting the two Siblings from its paralysis effect (Though it won't do a thing to them, the attack will still land a blow). Harry smiles, seeing that Shinsha was quick on her feet. "Great thinking, Shinsha! You remind me of my friend Hermione when we're in a pickle."
Shinsha giggles, feeling honored that her thinking reminds her of his friends. "Thanks, Onii-san, if there's a chance, I want to meet your friends from your school." She smiles brightly with the hope to meet them someday.
"I'm sure you will, but for now let's finish this fight." Shinsha nodded, suddenly spotting Byakuen dashing over with his Staff at the ready. Harry spots the Marcial Artist coming toward them and acted promptly,
"I'm going to deal with that Ape, can you handle this on your own?" Harry asked his Sister, now figuring she's the supporter type of person.
Shinsha nodded, having confidence that she can handle this. "I can but, let me do something for you to reach Kumara-sama." She smirks.
Byakuen reached the ice wall, ready to take it down only for Harry to burst through it. He gasps, seeing the young master raise his hands, "Take this!" A Spell Circle appeared on his palms as flames went hurling towards the tail.
Harry landed; feet grounded as Byakuen fell to the ground. He smirks, rushing at the Chimeric Lord standing on her stage.
Raiko saw his fellow tail fell to the young master and prompted him to attack him. He roars, rushing at the Arch Mage. However, that was a fatal mistake as a Spell Circle appeared beneath him.
Suddenly a mist burst through the ground, freezing whoever was unfortunate within its range. Shinsha smiles, standing up from the ground. "Go Onii-san! You're clear to face Kumara-sama!"
Kumara chuckled, seeing that her tails were defeated easily. "Nice, well done you two. But that won't stop me from defeating you,"
"We'll see, Lady Kumara!" Harry leaps forward, thrusting his Katana at the Patron of his Father.
The Fox Spirit grins, lifting her hands to create a pillar of Earth. The pillar burst through the ground and hurls right at the young master.
Harry's eyes widen, swiftly leaning his body to the side. He manages to dodge the attack, leaving a scrape on his arm. He landed, holding his arm as he felt the small cut bleeding. "Tch, she's fast."
{Answer: The Fox Spirit known as Kumara possesses Thought Acceleration. The individual can think more than the normal speed.} Rapheal informed her master.
'So she can think fast,' Harry clicked his tongue until he saw her appear before him.
"Standing there will leave you open, young master." Kumara kicks the young Arch Mage to the side, though not as much since he is the son of her Lord. It's still enough to deliver him to the side.
"Onii-san!" Shinsha cried out,
Harry was tossed around on the ground, he hits the wall, feeling the impact through his body. "Ngh!" He clenched his teeth upon impact.
The Arch Mage huffed, getting up from the ground. He still held onto his Katana while holding his arm. "She's way too fast. It must be her Space Control." He said to himself.
Harry looks up to see that Shinsha was sending Spells at the Fox Spirit but she manages to evade them all. He looks down, not giving up just yet. 'Raphael, can you tell me how to defeat Lady Kumara?' He asked his Ultimate Skill.
{Answer: To defeat the Fox Spirit known as Kumara, you need to have misdirection.} Rapheal informed her master on how to defeat her.
'Huh? Misdirection?' Harry ponders, unsure what she means.
{Suggestion:…} The Ultimate Skill went into details on how to use misdirection to defeat the Fox.
Harry nodded, understanding what he needs to do. "Shinsha!" He called out to his Sister.
Shinsha jumps back, looking at Harry standing at the side. "Hai?" She asked.
"Cast your water spell at me," Harry asked her to perform the Spell that she used on the Labyrinth Wolves a floor back.
"Huh? But wh-"
"Trust me!" Harry smiles, nodding to his Sister to proceed.
Shinsha was unsure what her Brother was planning, however, he trust him to get things done. "Alright, here it comes!" She cried.
The Pink Slime raised her hand at her Brother, a Spell Circle appeared in her palms, and a jet of water burst from it.
'What are they planning-' Kumara paused, seeing the young master holding out his hands. A red Spell Circle appear on them and released a large fireball right at the water.
Both Spells impacted each other, causing a chain reaction. Kumara covered her face as steam burst out throughout the room. "W-What!?" She exclaims, not expecting this plan.
The Chimeric Lord's vision was impaired by the steam, all she can see was steam. "So, sneak attacking me." Using her Beast instincts she can sense whatever is going around her.
Shinsha came out of the mist, "Icicle Spear!" Icicles appeared before her and released them at the Fox Spirit.
"I don't think so," Kumara raised her hand, creating a wall of Earth that blocked the icicles. "Seems like you failed in-" She gasps, feeling a cold blade on her back.
Kumara shifted her eyes to the back where Harry stood behind her with his Katana near her neck. "You think? If this is a real fight, you would die here and now." Harry smiles, removing the hood of his Invisibility cloak making him appear.
Kumara was impressed by the two's teamwork. One was for a distraction while the other went for the real attack. "Impressive, well done you two!" She congratulated them as Harry released her.
Shinsha came to her Brother, standing before the Fox Spirit. She recalls both Byakuen and Raiko back to her and smiles at the children of her Lord. "Seems like you two are a force not to be trifle with, great job." Kumara smiles, "I'm sure Rimuru-sama will be pleased."
Harry looks at his Sister, admitting that she's great to have around when they're battling. A Strategist, Supporter, and a Mage, something that every Party needs. "Yeah, Shinsha is great as a Party member."
"And a friend that has your back, Onii-san!" Shinsha smiles,
"You're right on that, Sister," Harry smirks, seeing the joy on the Pink Slime's face.
Walking out of the observation deck, Albert and Myrtle met up with Ramiris and Beretta who watched the fight. "Seems like our job is done here, everyone." Myrtle smiles seeing the outcome of the battle.
"Indeed, this is the starting point of their relationship as Siblings." Beretta agreed with her fellow Doll on her statement. "I believe those two will make Tempest brighter than it already is."
Ramiris nodded to her Subordinate, floating beside her. "Yep, Guy and the other Demon Lords are curious about what Harry will achieve in the future, after all, he does have a dream to work on." She stated, hearing that part from Rimuru.
"For now, let's continue aiding support to the two just as Rimuru would do." Albert smiles, seeing the doors open behind them.
The next morning, Harry was sleeping peacefully in his futon. He was really tired from yesterday's adventure that he slept in through the morning. "Onii-san! Time to wake up!" Shinsha enters the room, waking the heir to Tempest. "It's already one in the afternoon!"
Harry groans, turning to the side. "Five...more...minutes..." He groans, ignoring the shaking from Shinsha on his body.
"Come on, I gave you enough time to rest." Shinsha pouts, knowing this is a habit of his he needs to break. She sighs, seeing that he's not budging. "Alright, you asked for it."
Rimuru was enjoying his afternoon tea before he goes to the City Hall. "Another peaceful day in the summer, right Diablo?" He asked the Demon next to him.
Diablo nodded, "Indeed my Lord," He replied before hearing a loud thud upstairs.
"GAAAAAHHHHH! SHINSHA! THAT'S COLD!" Harry exclaimed from up his room.
"I TOLD YOU TO WAKE UP! PLUS I DIDN'T BURST THROUGH YOUR WALL LIKE LAST TIME!" Shinsha replied with more yelling.
"BUT DO YOU HAVE TO SPLASH COLD WATER ON ME!? MY FUTON'S WET NOW!" Harry cried.
Rimuru sips his tea, smiling at the nice day outside. "Another peaceful day, right?" He asked once more.
Footsteps came running down revealing a shivering and wet Harry and Shinsha followed after him.
"DAD!"
"PAPA!"
"Indeed Rimuru-sama," Diablo smiles at another day serving the Tempest Household.
