Ch 6 The Summer Festival Pt 1
The time has finally arrived, it was the annual Summer Festival in the Jura Tempest Federation. Everyone has already prepared for the upcoming celebration. Most wore their Kimonos already while others were still doing some finishing touches.
Harry walks down the road, heading to a shop where many people are gathered. "Wow, Shuna must be really busy." He commented.
"Yes, Shuna-dono's business is always booming during this time of year," Diablo informed his young master, walking beside him.
The Arch Mage looked back at the Demon, curious about something. "If this is Shuna's busiest time of the year, she might not be able to help me," Harry commented, seeing the long line in front of his Aid's shop.
Diablo chuckles, both heading to the front of the line. "Young master, you are Rimuru-sama's heir and son." The Primordial Demon of Black stated, "In your case; with that title, you have a special privilege to skip any lines in this nation."
"Really? That sounds a bit too much freedom if you ask me." Harry stated, unsure of how to feel about the privilege.
"Yes but do please be wise on how to use it, Harry-sama," Diablo warns the young Arch-Mage on the authority he possesses.
Harry nodded, understanding what his Bulter said. "Yeah, I know. I never like using my fame to get something I want." The Arch Mage stated, "It felt wrong to me."
Diablo understood what his young master means. He had seen firsthand what the title the Boy-Who-Lived brought, unwanted attention. "I completely understand, Harry-sama. But don't let that discourage you," The Demon stated, "Remember, your dream is to create a Nation for the Monsters in the other World similar to Tempest."
Harry looks at his Tutor/Butler, listening to his words. "That alone will make a name for yourself," Diablo smiles, having confidence in the young master's abilities.
The black-haired boy smiles, appreciating Diablo's attempt to cheer him up. "Thank you, Diablo." Harry thanked him.
"Anytime, young master," Diablo looks up to see they arrived at the front of Shuna's shop. "It seems we're here, Harry-sama." He informed the young Arch Mage.
Harry noticed the long line before them, many of them were guests who were visiting Tempest for the Festival. The others were residents that were looking for a new Kimono for the celebration.
He steps forward, unsure how to excuse himself from his people. "Um…excuse me sir, but-"
"Ah! Harry-sama! You were about to enter Shuna-dono's Shop right?" The Hobgoblin noticed his Lord's heir. He inclined his head as did the others behind him, allowing Harry to enter first. "Then by all me, enter first my Lord."
"Yes, please do, Harry-sama!"
"I hope you find the Kimono you're looking for, young master!"
Harry gave a smile, a bit unsure about the whole cutting himself in line. He opened the door revealing a busy atmosphere, there were many citizens of Tempest gathered around the floor.
Diablo steps next to his young master, looking down at him. "Young master, Shuna-dono is over at the counter." The Primordial Demon of Black points to the busiest part of the shop.
The Arch Mage followed Diablo's finger and saw Shuna and Myrtle checking out guests of their purchases.
"Thank you for shopping, please come back again." The Oni Princess thanked the customer before going to the next one. "Oh, hello did you find everything, sir?"
Myrtle gave a bright smile to the customer before her. "Thank you for shopping, here's your change." The Chaos Doll looks at the entrance, noticing both Diablo and Harry standing there.
She turns to her Mentor and Employer, "Princess Shuna, Lord Harry, and Diablo are here." The Chaos Doll informed the Oni Princess.
Shuna turned her attention to her apprentice's side of the counter. She smiled when her eyes spot the young master and his Butler. "Harry-sama, Diablo-dono, welcome." She greeted the two. "Is there something you need?"
Harry smiled at his aid, "Um, Shuna…can you possibly help me with my Kimono for the Festival?" The Prince of Monsters asked the Princess. "I know that you are busy with your custo-"
"Of course, young master." Shuna looks at Myrtle, trusting her to run the counter until she gets back. "Myrtle-chan, can you take over the counter for me?"
The Chaos Doll nodded, obliging to her request. "Of course, Princess." Myrtle went over to Shuna's customers, assisting them with their purchases.
The pink-haired Oni made her way to the other side of the counter. She smiles, leading the two to her personal workspace near the back,
Inside Shuna's personal workspace was filled with typical Dressmakers supplies. A sewing machine table near the window, a large mirror, a changing room, fabric storage at the right side wall, some mannequins, and a weaver near the entrance,
Harry was amazed at how neat and prepared the Oni Princess was with her workspace.
"Young master," The Arch Mage looked at his aid, hearing his title.
Shuna motions to the desks with some prepared fabrics. "This way please."
The black-haired boy looked back at Diablo, nodding for him to go on ahead. "I shall be outside until Shuna-dono's finish." Diablo left the room, leaving the two alone.
Harry walked over to the Oni Princess, ready for her to take his measurements.
After a few hours of fitting and measuring, Harry looked at himself in the room's mirror.
"Wow," Harry looked at himself in the mirror,
His Kimono was emerald, green with a black obi belt around his waist. He wore black socks and sandals, "Wow, this really suits me." Harry commented, turning around to get a better look at the back.
Shuna returned to the mirror with some pins. "How do you like it, young master?" The Oni Princess asked her Lord's heir.
"I like it, I never wore anything like this before," Harry commented as Shuna attached the last piece to his right sleeve. "You're really talented, Shuna."
"Thank you, Harry-sama. That means a lot coming from you," Shuna smiles, happy to receive a compliment from her ward. She got up from the floor and steps back to see Harry's Kimono better.
Shuna placed her hand over her chin, looking at the Kimono. "Harry-sama, how does it feel? Comfortable?" She asked, wanting his opinion.
Harry turned around, checking the fit and how it fit him. He smiles, "It feels great! Thank you for making this, Shuna."
"It's my pleasure, young master." Shuna smiles, happy to be an assistant to the heir of Tempest.
"How much do I owe-"
The Oni Princess shook her head, refusing any compensation from the Arch Mage. "It's on me, Harry-sama. You are the heir of Tempest, as such this is me giving back to your family."
Harry was unsure of what Shuna said, however, he doesn't want to turn down her gift. "If that's what you want Shuna, then I'll accept this as a gift from you."
Shuna inclined her head to the Arch Mage, appreciating his consideration. "Thank you, young master." She looks up and turned to the clock, "Young master, the Festival will start soon. I suggest you prepare for tonight,"
"Mmm?" Harry was confused at first before looking at the clock. They were fitting and sewing on pieces together that both didn't realize how much time has passed by.
"I didn't realize the time, it's already sundown," Harry commented, seeing the sunset outside the window.
Shuna nodded, hearing the number of customers on the floor decrease. "And it seems that everyone is heading to the Festival," She looks at the black-haired boy, "You should start making your way to your Father and Sister, Harry-sama. It's a tradition that Rimuru-sama officially announces the start of the Festival,"
The Arch Mage nodded and headed to the door. He turned back, curious if Shuna was coming, "Shuna, aren't you coming?"
"Yes, I'm just going to close the shop and put on my Kimono." The Oni Princess informed her ward, "Go on ahead, young master."
The door opened suddenly, revealing Diablo patiently waiting for his young master. The Demon smiles, seeing that he was done with getting his Kimono from Shuna. "Harry-sama, are you finished with your fitting?" Diablo asked.
Harry nodded, responding to the Primordial Demon of Black's question. "Yes, Shuna said that my Dad and Shisha are at the City Hall for the opening ceremony for the Summer Festival." The young heir of Tempest said.
"Of course, it's tradition for your Father to announce the start of the Summer Festival," Diablo informed a bit of the History of his Nation.
"I know, Shuna told me." Harry smiles, starting to make his way to the Town Hall.
Diablo nodded, "Allow me to accompany you, young master to the Town Hall." The Primordial Demon requested the Arch Mage.
Harry smiles, allowing his Family's Butler to accompany him to the center of Town.
The two made their way through Tempest as the Citizens greeted the young Heir. Harry naturally greeted them back as a sign of respect for their loyalty to his Father,
Once they were near the Town Hall, Harry sighs at how many people he has greeted. "Man, Tempest has grown a lot in the past year," Harry commented, seeing the Driders he has brought interacting with the other Monsters in the City.
"Indeed, Harry-sama. You have brought Aragog-dono's Family here," Diablo added, walking behind him. "What you did is a good deed, you gave the entire Driders a place to call their home."
Harry chuckles, hearing his Butler's comment. "I only did what's right, they were only fending themselves back in the Forbidden Forest." The young heir stated.
Diablo just smiles before looking up and saw his master and the young mistress at the entrance. "Harry-sama, your Father and Sister are there." The Demon Butler pointed to the Town Hall.
"I see, so they were waiting for me." Harry saw his Family standing on the stage that was built for this occasion. At the bottom were Tempest Wolves with Ranga below his Father,
Padfoot was with the group, indicating that he had joined the pack.
"I better get going, Diablo." Harry rushed over to the stage, not wanting to take any more time than he's been doing.
Diablo inclined his head to his leaving ward, "I'll be around, young master." With that Diablo went off to see if there was anything left that needs to be finished for the Festival.
Harry rushed to backstage, where he saw Shion and Ririna standing there with boards and clips.
The Goblin Lord turned to the rushing heir of Tempest. Ririna let out a sigh of relief that the young master was here, "Harry-sama, we were about to send a Search Party for you." Ririna said to the young Arch Mage. "The Festival was about to start,"
"Sorry, the fitting with Shuna took longer than I thought," Harry explains why he's running late.
Shion made her way to Harry, adjusting the Kimono for him. She steps back and smiles at the young master. "There, now go out with Rimuru-sama and Shisha-sama," The Wicked Oni motions to the stage.
Harry nodded and made his way out on stage.
The Arch Mage walked calmly on stage, he saw both his Father and Sister turning their heads to him. Harry just gave an apologetic smile to them as he stood beside his Sister,
"(Sorry, Dad.)" Harry apologizes to his Father,
Rimuru shrugs, not caring for the formalities that much. "(I take it the fitting with Shuna took longer than you thought?)" The Demon Lord asked his Son.
Harry nodded, answering his Father's question.
"(Well, as long as you're here, that all that matters.)" Rimuru smiles before stepping forward to face his people.
Shinsha nudged her Brother's side, wanting to know the real reason. "(So…you're sure that happened with Shuna-san?)" She asked.
"(Nothing happened, just the fitting took longer.)" Harry whispered back as their Father started to do his speech. "(Speaking of fitting, I didn't see you this morning when I woke up. I thought we were going together to Shuna's shop.)"
The Pink Slime smiles,"(We've played until it turned to night at the lake. I figured that Onii-san might need his beauty sleep.)" Shinsha chuckles,
Harry's eye twitches at his Sister's mischievous side. "(You didn't wake me on purpose.)"
"(Well I did try, but Papa said that you need to break your habit of sleeping in.)" Shinsha answered back, acting innocently on her actions. Shinsha looks up, placing her hands behind her back. "(You should really work on that, Onii-san.)" She smiles,
Harry smiles, a bit annoyed by his Sister's comment. Before he could say anything, their Father already officially starts the Summer Festival.
Cheers erupted for the annual Festival as everyone went to do their own thing.
Rimuru walks over to his Children, smiling that things went well again. "Well, you two should be off. This is the first time experiencing the Summer Festival for the both of you," The Slime stated, wanting them to explore the Festival.
"Sure, Dad." Harry was curious about what the Festival was about. He heard so many things about it from the gossip around the City.
Shinsha nodded, looking at her Brother. "Onii-san, wanna go together? It'll be fun!" She sang, wanting to spend time with him.
Harry looks at their Father, urging him to go along with his Sister. "Why not, it'll be awkward if I'm going alone."
Shinsha grabs her Brother's arm and dragged him into the Festival. "Yay!"
Rimuru chuckles, watching his Daughter drag his Son with her. "Be careful you two!" He shouted, seeing Harry's hand waving at him.
"Seems like those two are getting along well." Veldora steps next to his Brother, watching his Neice and Nephew run off to the Festival.
"Well they did spend together down in Ramiris's Labyrinth, by now it's only natural that they want to spend some time together outside of adventuring." Rimuru smiles, proud of his Children making such progress in their relationship.
Veldora patted the Slime on his back, laughing loudly. "My Brother, you should give yourself some credit! You did set them up so they can be true Siblings," The Storm Dragon stated, seeing the work that Rimuru has done in raising the two. "You're a great Father Rimuru,"
Rimuru smiles, appreciating what his Brother figure said. "Thanks Veldora," He turns his head, noticing some liquor being sold at a booth. "Say, you want to drink?"
"You have me on drink, Rimuru! Let's waste ourselves away!"
Both the Slime and Storm Dragon left for the liquor booth and drank happily.
Harry and Shinsha gazed around the stalls filled with many attractions and activities for them to try. "There are so many stalls here, I'm not sure where to start," Harry stated, a bit overwhelmed by the event.
Shinsha looks around the Festival, trying to figure out where to begin. "Young master! Young lady,"
The two Tempest Siblings turn their heads to the left, hearing their names being called. Nearby was a booth where Treyni in a green Kimono was standing. Her booth was a fortune-telling booth where you pull a vine, and a fortune will come at the other end.
"Treyni, I didn't know that you have a booth at the Festival." Harry greeted the Dryad; he looks over at her booth curious how it works.
Treyni turns to her booth, "Every year I always set up a Fortune-telling booth. It's my way of having fun during the Summer Festival." She explains to the Children of Rimuru.
"May I try it, Treyni-san?" Shinsha asked, wanting to have her fortune read.
The Dryad steps back, motioning her hands to her booth. "Of course, young lady. Just pull any vine you see." Treyni explains how her booth works to the Pink Slime.
Shinsha nodded, approaching the vines. After looking for a moment at which vine to pull, she eventually pulled the one nearest to her. "There!"
"GAH!" Both Shinsha and Harry turn to Treyni who just made a strange sound.
"Um…"
"Oh, don't pull that, Shinsha-sama." Treyni held her cheeks, showing a soft blush. "Go on and try another one," She urges them to pull another vine.
Shinsha had an inkling feeling that something was off with Treyni's booth. She turns to her Brother, unsure what to make of this. "O-Onii-san, do you want a go?" She asked him.
Harry blinks, catching what Shinsha was feeling. "A-Alright…" He approached the booth and grabbed onto one vine and pull it.
"AHA!" Treyni squeals, holding her head with pleasure.
Harry's eyes widen, seeing how the Dryad reacted when he pulled a vine. 'Um…Raphael, can you confirm that if the vines are conn-'
{Answer: These vines are all connected to the individual known as Treyni.} Raphael informed her master of the rigged booth.
The Arch Mage gave a blank expression to the Dryad, already figuring out her motives. "U-Um, hey Shinsha, I heard that Ranga and his pack are giving rides to everyone," Harry said, feeling uncomfortable with this situation.
"Oh, you're leaving young master, young lady? If so, please tell your Father that I'm here." Treyni smiles, watching the two Siblings off.
"We will, Treyni-san." Shinsha chuckles before walking with her Brother in the crowd. "Well, that was unexpected for Treyni-san." She commented on her booth.
Harry nodded, "It goes to show that not everyone is the same on the inside." He commented before laughing with his Sister.
Shinsha looks around the Festival, "Hey, Onii-san you did say that Ranga-san is giving rides to everyone." She looks up at the Arch Mage, curious where that was. "Where is it?"
"Mmmm…I think it's at the field near the Festival." Harry points to the few Monsters heading to the left side of the Festival.
"Then let's go!" Shinsha giggled, rushing over to where the Citizens were heading.
Harry followed his Sister, trying to keep up with her. The two soon arrived where Ranga and the rest of the Tempest Wolf Pack were giving rides to the children.
Ranga sat near the entrance of his attraction, wagging his tail. "Welcome to the Tempest Wolf ride-along! Please wait in line for your turn," The Leader of the Tempest Wolf Pack announced, seeing the children gathered around the entrance.
"Himiko! Over here!" Momiji waves over to her Daughter with Benimaru sitting behind her.
"Look over to your Mothers!" Albis shouted to the child, wanting her to look their way.
Benimaru chuckles, holding his Daughter tightly. He smiles at his child, taking a lot from Momiji in appearance except for the red hair and the horns she inherited from him.
Himiko giggled, seeing the World with new eyes from riding the Tempest Wolf's back. "Himiko, look over your Mothers, they're calling for you." Benimaru moved her Daughter's head to face his Wives who were waving at them.
The young child giggled, waving at her two Mothers at the entrance. She then blinks, seeing two Children heading from the Festival. "AH!" Himiko points to the two Children coming over.
The Oni looked over to where his Daughter was pointing to. He smiles, seeing the two Children of Rimuru. "Those are Harry-sama and Shinsha-sama, Himiko. Those two are the Children of our Lord, Rimuru-sama." Benimaru explains who those two are.
Harry and Shinsha approached the attraction where Ranga, Momiji, and Albis looked at the two. "Greetings, Harry-sama, Shinsha-sama, are you here to see what's going on here?" Momiji asked the two.
"Yeah, Onii-san said that the Tempest Wolf Pack is giving rides to everyone," Shinsha stated, looking at her Citizens getting on the Tempest Wolves.
The Arch Mage looks at the Wolves. Instantly reminded of the rides in those fairs in the other World. But instead of the miniature horses or ponies, these are full-grown Evolved Dire Wolves, "That actually looks fun,"
Albis walks over to the young master, standing beside him. "Do you want to ride them, young master?" The Lycanthrope asked the heir of Rimuru.
Harry ponders a bit before looking at Shinsha with bright eyes. "Seems like, Shinsha wants to ride them." After seeing his Sister with that look on her face. He then felt a familiar presence nearby and was prompted to turn to the left.
Coming from the resting area was his own Tempest Wolf heading over to him. "Harry-sama!" Padfoot greeted his master. "Are you here to try our Tempest Wolf ride?" He asked, wagging his tail for his answer. (Mainly yes)
Harry noticed the tail of his Subordinate and smiled, already made up his mind. "Sure, why not."
