Nearly 5 months. I'm sorry for the long wait. I just go very busy and had some family issues I had to deal with. To make up for it, here is a long chapter. I was going to separate it into two, but as a gift to you, I made it into one.

Just to warn you, there is a scene that may make you a bit squeamish. I had to throw it in for certain reasons. Well, enjoy!

Chapter 38: Aliens, Guardians, and Genderbentness

"This is..." Naruto began, but fell silent in amazement.

"Yeah," Sasuke couldn't agree more. Tall buildings stood around them of varying shapes and sizes. The colors of the setting sun lit up the darkening streets. Sasuke had to admit that the sight was one of the most beautiful he'd ever seen. He glanced over at Naruto and nearly gasped. The setting sun illuminated Naruto's skin. It made him seem godlike.

The sound of a bell ringing filled the air. It was then that they noticed people running around. "What are you doing?" someone asked them. "Hurry and get inside. Night is almost upon us!" Without another word, the man ran into a building. A few seconds later, darkness swept through the city.

"What are they afraid of?" Naruto wondered out loud.

A scream suddenly tore through the night. Naruto and Sasuke turned to see a woman running towards them. "Help me!" She tried to run faster, but she tripped and fell to the ground.

"And here I thought she'd make it farther than that," a voice said. A man with red eyes appeared behind the woman. He slammed a foot into her back, keeping her there.

"How many times do I have to tell you not to play with your food?" Another man appeared beside the first.

"But then it wouldn't be any fun," the first man said. He bent down and grabbed the woman by her hair, pulling her up. He pulled her against him. "Though, this wasn't that fun. She only made it a mile before we found her."

The second man just rolled his eyes. "Hurry up and eat. I want to find fresher prey."

The first man sighed. "Fine." He spun the woman around and placed a hand above her heart. She cried and tried to beg him to let her go. Laughing, the man licked her tears.

Naruto couldn't stand by and watch anymore. He got between the two and pushed the man away, moving backwards with the woman. "Are you alright?"

"P-please don't hurt me," the woman begged.

Naruto smiled. "I won't."

"Great," the first man said. "Just another person trying to steal my food." He stepped towards Naruto. "Hey kid! Hand her over."

"No," Naruto said. "I won't let you hurt her."

"Oh really?" the first man asked. "And you think you can stop me?"

"Akira, enough," the second man said. "Just kill both of them."

"You're not any fun, Shuichi," Akira said. He stepped forward. "I'll give you one more chance. Hand her over and I'll let you live, for now."

"No," Naruto repeated. Akira growled before lunging at Naruto. Naruto pushed the woman towards Sasuke then did a flip over Akira and slammed a foot into his back. Akira fell to the ground.

He picked himself up, glaring. "You are going to pay for that!" He charged at Naruto. Naruto used his superior speed to dodge Akira. Sasuke watched as Naruto kept dodging Akira's attacks. He was surprised at this mature side of Naruto. The blond looked to be thinking about his next move. Finally, he slammed a fist into the side of Akira's head, sending him into a building. The building shook, but stood its ground. Akira stood up, shaking. He coughed, spitting up blood. "It's not over yet!" He charged at Naruto, but Shuichi stopped him.

"They are coming," Shuichi said.

Akira cursed. He raised a hand and pointed at Naruto. "Next time I see you, you're dead!" A strange purple fog surrounded them before they disappeared.

Naruto took a deep breath before walking over to the woman. "Are you ok?"

"M-monster!" the woman screamed. Naruto took a step back with a sad look on his face. An orange arrow suddenly slammed into the ground between Naruto and the woman. The woman looked ecstatic. "They're here!" She stood up and moved away from Naruto and Sasuke.

A cloud of orange appeared above them. A woman with blond hair and blue eyes stood on the cloud. "You dare to attack this town?" She pulled out her staff as she floated above Sasuke and Naruto. "You fools have made a grave mistake." She held the staff out and it shifted into a bow. She created an arrow out if her magic and pointed it at Naruto. "I'm a Protector!" And she released the arrow. Naruto simply caught it. The woman glared and she shot another arrow. This time, it hit the ground where Naruto had previously stood.

'That arrow,' Naruto thought. 'It was made of Chakra or something.' Another arrow hit the ground. "Hey! Quit it!" He dodged another arrow. "I didn't do anything wrong. I saved that woman!"

"Liar!" the blond woman yelled, firing a fifth arrow. Again, Naruto caught it. This time he tossed it back at her. She yelped as she jumped off the cloud, the arrow slamming into it, causing it to vanish. Two pairs of blue eyes met each other. The blond woman cursed. She then touched a ring on her right hand.

"You called?" a woman with short black hair appeared. She was on a broom.

"Looks like this is a youthful encounter," a voice said from behind her. A cat sat on the broom.

"Sensei, it seems this isn't a normal alien," the black haired girl said.

"They aren't," the blond woman said. "Are the others coming?"

"I just came ahead," the black haired girl said. She jumped down and took a fighting stance. For some reason, Naruto was reminded of Lee. "They should be here soon."

"Lets take care of him before then," the blond said.

Sasuke sighed. Once again Naruto was stuck in a fight that shouldn't of even started. He stood up, intending to stop the fight. He walked towards Naruto. Blue and black eyes widened as they took the raven in.

"Sasuke?" the blond asked. "Wha-what are you doing here?" She hid her bow behind her back.

"Eh?" Naruto asked. He looked from the girls to Sasuke. 'How do they know Sasuke?'

"I see," Sasuke said. "This must be one of our parallel worlds." He put a hand on Naruto's shoulder. "Dobe, that's enough." Naruto blinked before realizing that a small trickle of red chakra had started to leak through. It vanished not a second latter.

"This is interesting," a voice said. Sasuke and Naruto turned slightly to see three more girls standing behind the other two. "Ree, Naruko, what have you gotten into this time."

"Shut it Nezi!" the blond yelled. She pointed at Naruto. "He was attacking an innocent..."

"For the last time, I was protecting her!" Naruto yelled.

"Hey!" a brunet yelled. "If that's true then why are you fighting Naruko?"

"She attacked me first!" Naruto glared.

"It seems that is true," a girl with even shorter black hair said. Naruto blushed. The girl was wearing a revealing outfit. But it was weird. She was wearing a scarf around her neck and lower face. There were white glasses covering her eyes.

Naruko pouted. "I thought he was one of them."

"It is clear they are not," Nezi said. "I believe we should take this else where."

Naruko looked like she was going to protest, but a look from Nezi told her not to. "Fine! Lets go." A cloud appeared and she jumped onto it. Ree jumped back onto her broom. Nezi jumped onto Ree's broom. The other two girls jumped onto Naruko's cloud.

"Come," Nezi said. Sasuke and Naruto looked at each other before jumping onto the cloud. Suddenly, the seven of them vanished.

The woman who had been saved by Naruto stood in the deserted street. She looked around confused. Then she shrugged and ran off.

Seven people and a cat walked down a large hallway. They came to a large room that was clearly a living room. Each took a seat, Naruto and Sasuke on the love seat, Naruko, Nezi, and Shina, on the other couch, and Ree and Keeba were on the floor.

"So, I believe we should first find out who you are," Nezi said.

"My name is Naruto Uzumaki," Naruto said. He lifted up a hand and motioned to Sasuke. "And this is Sasuke Uchiha."

"We know who he is," Nezi said. "But I just don't get who you are. Are you a clone or something?"

"No," Naruto said. "I'm from another world."

"So?" Ree asked. "What alien race are you?"

"I'm not an alien," Naruto said.

"Right," Ree said.

Sasuke sighed. "We are from a parallel world. Aliens don't exist in our world."

"Wait," Naruko said. "That means you aren't..."

The door to the room slammed open. "Like I said, it just uses ink to... Oh! We have guests."

"Sai, Sakurano," Nezi said. "They seem to be from a different world, but they're not aliens."

"Oh?" Sakurano said. He stepped up to Naruto and Sasuke. "This one looks like that bastard Sasuke."

"Sakurano!" Naruko yelled, standing up. "Sasuke is not a bastard!"

"Whatever," Sakurano said.

Naruto laughed drawing everyone's attention. "Sorry. It's just you guys are so different from our versions of you."

"Your female self is exactly like you, Dobe," Sasuke said.

"Shut it Teme!" Naruto yelled.

"Except she's madly in love with your counter part," Keeba said. Naruko blushed as Sasuke raised an eyebrow.

"How come you and Sai are the only ones that aren't genderbent?" Naruto complained, pouting.

"Annoying," Sakurano said. Naruto glared at him. "So let me uderstand this. You two are from a world parallel to our own. However in yours, I'm a girl while Naruko, Keeba, Shina, Ree, and Nezi are men. Interesting. I would have liked to meet this female version of me."

"What about Hinata?" Nezi asked. "Is my cousin in your world a girl or a boy?"

"Hinata?" Naruto asked. He was surprised that Nezi was so... outspoken. She also seemed to care about Hinata. Neji cared about Hinata too, but it was clear that Nezi and Hinata had a stronger relationship. "Hinata's a girl."

"So the opposite as well," Nezi said.

"Does that mean Guy-Sensei is a female cat?" Ree asked.

"No," Naruto said. "He's human."

"Enough with all the stupid questions," Sai said. He leaned against the closed door. "What is more important is to find out why you are here."

"It is random," Naruto said. "We have no control over which worlds we go to or what order we go to them. We don't even know how many we have to go to before we can finally go home."

"So there is nothing you want here," Sai said more than asked.

"Just to survive the days required until we can move on," Sasuke said. And to move on was what he wanted. He didn't like the way Naruko looked at him.

"You can stay here," Naruko said enthusiastically.

"No they can't," Sai said. Naruko glared at Sai, giving him the only warning he got before she kicked him, in the crouch. He cried out and fell to the floor.

Naruko turned back to Sasuke and smiled. "We have plenty of rooms. I'll show you the way." Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other before following after Naruko. About ten minutes later, they stopped before a room. "You can stay here, Naruto." She then pointed to the room next door. "That room is yours, Sasuke-kun." She grinned. "I have something I need to do. Feel free to get settled in." She skipped off.

Naruto entered his room. He had to smile. It was painted a creamy orange. The bed was covered with red and orange blankets. He dropped his backpack on the floor before jumping on the bed. He laughed as it squeaked slightly under him.

Sasuke looked around his room. He nodded in approval at the dark blue sheets and gray walls. He carefully placed his backpack on the bed, opening it to take out some clothes. Hopefully he'd be able to do some laundry. A knock on his door forced him out of his thoughts. He opened it to a smiling Ree. "Naruko said that dinner will be ready soon. We will have someone bring it soon. Some of us are going out on patrol."

"Hn," Sasuke said.

"You're a lot like him," Ree said. "Our Sasuke I mean.I know that you are another version of him, but it is a bit scary. Though there is one thing that's different. You're darker." Ree's eyes widened, realizing what she said. "I... I'm sorry." She bowed. "Gotta go!" She quickly ran off.

Sasuke rolled her eyes. He knew that he'd be compared to the Sasuke of this world. He was already compared to Charasuke, so it would make sense to be compared again. Darker, yes he knew that he was. He sat down on the bed.

Suddenly, a loud boom resonated throughout the hideout. Naruto came running into the room. "There's been an attack!"

Sasuke just looked at Naruto, not even moving. "So?"

Naruto blinked then sighed. "That's right. You don't care." He clenched his fists. "Then stay here." He ran back out of the room. Sasuke remained still. Part of him knew it would be foolish to intervene. It isn't his battle. But another part wants to fight, to test himself. Another explosion sounded causing the room to shake. Sighing, Sasuke got up and headed in Naruto's direction.

Naruto had his sword out, clashing with Akira. The man was laughing as he swung his sword. It seemed he had lost his sanity. Naruto held his ground, easily defending himself. But it looked like he didn't notice Akira's tail. In fact, Sasuke saw the tail suddenly appear just before it swung at Naruto's legs, knocking him to the floor. Akira laughed as he raised his sword, ready to cut off Naruto's head, but he didn't get the chance. Naruto and Akira's eyes widened at the light blue blade coming out of Akira's chest. Sasuke had used his Chirdori Sharp Spear to effectively stop Akira. Akira coughed up blood. He turned slightly towards Sasuke. "Bastard!" Sasuke didn't say anything as he began to move the blade up. Akira grabbed the blade, crying out in pain as it burnt his hand. He withstood the pain, making his tail swing out as Sasuke. The spear disappeared as Sasuke was forced to dodge. Akira panted, his damaged hand held against his wound. "I'll... kill you." A soft sound of air being disturbed was the only warning they got as Shuichi appeared. Akira smiled. "Shuichi." Akira never said another word for Shuichi had slammed a hand through his chest, crushing his heart.

"Annoying," Shuichi said.

"Wh-why did you do that?" Naruto asked. "Wasn't he your friend?"

Shuichi looked at Naruto blankly. "He was a pain, a useless one. I just got rid of the burden."

"Bastard!" Naruto yelled. He charged at Shuichi. Sasuke moved in front of Naruto. "Get out of the way Sasuke!"

"Idiot, he would have just killed you," Sasuke said. He pointed at Shuichi. "He has control over air and has a barrier around him. If you got a few feet further, you would have been chopped to bits."

"Dammit!" Naruto yelled. "Using my wind won't work then. And neither would your lightning."

"No, but my fire would," Sasuke said. He closed his left eye. "Amaterasu." Black flames appeared along Shuichi's barrier. He stepped back, careful not to touch the flames.

"Impressive," Shuichi said. "But foolish." Shuichi's air and Sasuke's Amatersu began to mix. It began to spread towards Sasuke and Naruto as well as Shuichi.

Sasuke cursed as he called up Susano. Naruto however, had another idea. Going into three-tailed mode, he ran right into the fire. Sasuke's eyes widened, as Naruto's name got stuck in his mouth. Shuichi didn't expect Naruto to make it through the fire. Naruto slammed a fist into Shuichi's chest. "Rasengan!" Shuichi slammed into the wall behind him. Naruto grinned. "I'm a lot stronger than I look." Sasuke shook his head as he closed his right eye. Soon the black flames were gone. Naruto stopped his tailed-mode, his skin beginning to heal.

"I have to say, that was amazing!" Naruto and Sasuke turned to see a little girl poking Shuichi. "He's not dead though." She pulled out a silver flask and opened it. Shuichi's body vanished into the flask. "Now, now, I'm not going to fight you. But please do give Naruko by regards. I expect her to get at least as strong as you two soon." She pocketed the flask. Her white-silver hair grew, wrapping around her body. "See ya!" And then she was gone.

Keeba ran into the room not long after the girl vanished. "You guys ok?" Naruto nodded. "Good. The others are done with their fights too. We are meeting in the living room, if you'd like to join us. Without another word, she left the room. Naruto and Sasuke looked at each other before heading towards the living room. Along the way, they had to step over piles of rubble. It looked like the other battled were just as messy.

Everyone was gathered in the room, even those that had left the hideout an hour before. There was also two females in the room that Naruto didn't recognize. Sasuke however, had a guess to who they were. If he was right, he was a bit afraid to see Naruto's reaction to their identities. One of them had brown hair tied into a ponytail. She wore a brown dress with brown boots. On here hands were brown gloves. Her brown eyes looked at them with kindness.

The other one was more obvious. She had long silver hair that was spiked to one side, with part of her hair covering her left eye. She wore a low cut black shirt that revealed her shoulders, but covered her arms. Short black shorts hugged her form. Just an inch below her skirt were black high-heeled boots, laced up. She wore fingerless black gloves. The strangest thing about her were the white wolf ears on her head. Well, that and the black mask covered the lower half of her face. If it wasn't for the mask, Sasuke wouldn't have known who that was.

"Ah!" Naruko said. "You haven't meet them yet, but this is Iruka and Kakashi."

"Eh!" Naruto yelled. "Iruka-sensei? Kakashi-sensei?" Yup, Sasuke was right. He rubbed at his poor ears. At least he wasn't the only one. Kakashi had to do the same. The others seemed use to the loudness thought, probably due to Naruko.

"Well, I'm not really a sensei," Iruka said. "I just take care of the young ones."

"No way would I be a teacher," Kakashi said. "It would interfere with my reading." With that, she pulled out a book and sat down. She put her feet up on Sai's lap, who only glared at her before sulking. He knew that she'd get her way somehow.

"Annoying," Sakurano said. He crossed his arms, leaning against a wall. "So they've found our base. I bet they followed you when you brought the idiot and the emo back."

"Sakurano!" Naruko yelled. "Sasuke's not an emo."

"Hey!" Naruto also yelled. "I'm not an idiot."

Sai rolled his eyes. "Doesn't change the facts that we get attack a bit after these two show up."

"It wasn't them," a man said walking into the room.

"Ah, Shika, what did you find out?" Keeba asked.

"Troublesome," Shikamaru said. "Seems that Kabuto made some type of tracker that Shuichi left floating behind when he and Akira left before. It attached itself to the nearest Guardian." He looked at Naruko before continuing. "Kabuto sent Shuichi, Akira, and the others to attack. It seems only Shuichi survived. I have to wonder how Akira died." He turned to Naruto and Sasuke. "So that's how. Shuichi probably took in Akira's power."

"How did you know that Shuichi killed Akira?" Naruto asked.

"Troublesome," Shikamaru said. "I can read you minds. And I must say you're lucky to be unharmed when you met Kabuto."

"Kabuto?" Naruko and Naruto yelled. Kakashi and Sasuke glared at the two. Their ears were seriously going to start bleeding soon.

"Kabuto is that girl you met," Shikamaru said. Naruto's jaw dropped. Even Sasuke looked surprised. His mind went to Orochimaru and he shuddered, afraid to ask. "As creepy as he is, she is much worse. Kabuto is the queen of the aliens and monsters that attack Earth."

"Most fear the Guardians," Kakashi said. "But Kabuto's group doesn't seem to care. I bet that she stole Orochimaru's machine to control them, or at least strip them of their emotions. That guy always had a way with messing things up."

"At least he's dead now," a woman said stepping into the room. Naruto's eyes widened as a female Gaara walked into the room, her siblings close behind her. "Sorry we weren't here during the attack. It seems that one of Kabuto's creations attacked the school." She held up a hand. "Sasuke is ok. Itachi was with him." Naruko instantly calmed down.

Sasuke frowned. 'So even they have Itachi.' His eyes met Shikamaru's who's eyes were full of sympathy. He just glared then turned away from him.

"Alright," Nezi said, getting up and walking over to Gaara. "I think we should get started on the cleaning, then we can make plans on what to do next." The others nodded, all standing, except Naruto, Sasuke, and Kakashi. Suddenly, several shadow-like beings appeared. Each one was of a different color, representing who created it. They left the room, each heading to a damaged area.

"Feel free to rest," Naruko said as they followed their summoned shadows.

"Well, that gives me time to read more," Kakashi said, getting more comfortable. Naruto and Sasuke just shook their heads.

Finally done! It took a long time, but I hope you enjoyed this chapter. I tried to take aspects from various magical girl anime. I won't be focusing on one Magical Girl Series in particular, unless it is a sub-genre.
