Chapter 44: Dangerous Darkness

They appeared in a huge clearing. Sasuke was still on top of Naruto, but his Susano had disappeared. The raven suddenly collapsed onto Naruto. He panted heavily. Naruto held him, red chakra moving about their bodies. It was healing them. After a few minutes, Sasuke stood up. He helped Naruto to his feet before looking around.

"Looks like we've moved on," Naruto said. "I didn't get to say good bye to Tatsumi."

"They probably think we're dead," Sasuke said. "They'll think the explosion killed us."

"I hope they just think that we returned home," Naruto said. "We did tell them we lived away from the capital." Sasuke remembered that. The members of Night Raid had asked them several questions about who they were and where they came from. Being as vague as possible, they told them that they were from far away. Leone had stated that we must have been from a small village to the west. Naruto and Sasuke never corrected her.

"Hn,"Sasuke said.

"Hey Sasuke?" Naruto asked. "Does this place look familar to you?"

Sasuke look around. They were in a crator clearly created by something that wasn't them. However, it felt like they had been here before. Sasuke's eyes fell onto the design of some pieces of what had been a wall. His eyes widened. "Orochimaru."

"That's what I thought," Naruto said. "This is where we met after..." He fell silent. It had been one of his failed atempts of bring Sasuke back to Konoha.

"This is where my replacement tried to kill me," Sasuke said. He still hated Sai.

"He wasn't trying to kill you," Naruto said. "Sai was trying to bring you back, for Sakura and I."

"Hn," Sasuke grunted.

Naruto glared. "I don't know what your problem is with Sai, but he doesn't deserve your hatred. He's done nothing to you." Sasuke just glared at Naruto. "Anyway, may be we can find a room that's still standing to stay in. Then we can return to Konoha."

"What makes you think that I'm going back to that place?" Sasuke asked. "If anything, it is time for us to go our separate ways. I'm going to destroy Konoha, or did you forget that?"

"That's..." Naruto began. A kunai suddenly came flying towards them. The two separated as the tag exploded. Naruto landed behind a large rock. Sasuke slammed into the wall of the crator. He coughed before quickly getting to his feet. He activated his Sharingan, searching for their attacker. Several more kunai came at him. Chakra ran through them. He dodged them, but since the chakra extended the reach of their blades, some managed to cut him. He felt the poison instantly. Sasuke fell to his knees. Several thoughts flashed through his mind as he felt death edging closer. But then he felt a hand grab him, moving them away from more kunai. Sasuke barely opened his eyes before the felt the warmth. Knowing who it was, he let himself relax as the Kyuubi's chakra healed him once more. He woulldn't admit it, but he was glad that Naruto knew how to use Kyuubi's chakra to heal. It was much better than Kabuto's and even better than Karin's.

"Did you see who it was?" Sasuke asked.

"No," Naruto said. "You?"

"My Sharingan only saw the chakra in the kunai," Sasuke said. "Whoever threw those isn't close enough to be seen. If we were on higher ground, we'd be able to see them." Sasuke looked over Naruto's shoulder. "Shit!" He grabbed Naruto and tossed himself a few feet away from where they had been. A second later, the rock they'd been hidding behind exploded. A kunai had hit it. "Whoever it is has chakra strong enough to break through stone."

"We need to stop them," Naruto said. Sasuke nodded. "I'll summon some clones to... Sasuke!" A hand slammed into where Sasuke's head once was. Naruto's call allowed him to dodge. When the dust cleared, Naruto's eyes widened. Sakura stood, fist through the earth.

"Dammit," Sakura cursed. She pulled her hand out, before facing Sasuke.

"Why did you try to kill Sasuke?" Naruto asked. He stood between Sasuke and Sakura.

"Naruto?" Sakura asked, shock clearly shown on her face. "But how? You're dead."

Naruto froze as his anger disappeared and confusion took over. "Dead?" If Sakura and the others thought Naruto was dead then there was two possibilities. One was that Naruto and Sasuke had been gone much longer than they thought or two, this was another version of their world. And if Naruto had to guess, it was the latter.

Sasuke mentally groaned. He had gotten his hope up thinking he was back in his world. But once again, he was wrong. He looked around. Upon closer inspection, there were some differences of the two places. This one had black scorch marks on the walls. There was also more damage doen to the area than Sasuke could remember. It was clear that another fight had happened here, but one far worse than theirs. He turned back to Sakura.

In his world, Sakura had loved him until he made it clear that he was going to destroy Konoha. She had grown to hate him and he could see it in her eyes when she watched his fight fight with Naruto. However, this Sakura hated Sasuke even more. There was still hope in their Sakura's eyes, but this one looked ready to kill Sasuke. Sasuke looked her up and down. It was clear that she was a totally different Sakura. She was more mature and everything about her stance said she was a force to be messed with.

"Dobe, this isn't our world," Sasuke said.

Naruto nodded. "This is another pararelle world. Yuko did say there were several of them."

"What are you talking about?" Sakura asked. She stepped back, guard up.

Naruto sighed. He really hated having to explain this almost everytime they appeared in a different world. He had been lucky to avoid the explaination in the last few worlds. "Well, you see Sakura-chan, we're from a different world."

Sakura blinked at the way Naruto said her name. She couldn't help but smile. What Naruto had said was weird, but it did explain the difference between her Naruto and this one, after all, her Naruto was dead. She looked at Sasuke. He too was different. It was as if she was looking at a younger version of Sasuke that hadn't fully turned yet. Her eyes fell back on Naruto. She could feel the familar chakra radiating off of him. She could only conclude that he wasn't lying. In all honesty, she was hoping this was a lie. It broke back many painful memories. Sakura wondered if this Sasuke and Naruto were still close. It brought her back to a time she desparetely wished never ended. 'Time!' Her mind yelled. She looked up to see that the sky was darkening. "Dammit!" She turned to Naruto and Sasuke. "We need to get out of here before..."

A roar of lightning crashed down to the ground. Sasuke, Sakura, and Naruto only just managed to dodge the attack. Sakura instantly prepared herself, knowing who it was.

He stood in all black, a deadly aura coming from his body. His swirling red eyes stared down at them. He had a smirk on his face. Naruto and Sasuke could tell that this man was dangerous, more than Itachi, Pein, and even Madara. A shiver ran down Sasuke's spine as he stared up at himself.

"You are not a Henge," the dangerous Sasuke (Abunaisuke) said. "You can't be a clone. So tell me, what are you?"

Sasuke glared at Abunaisuke. "I'm Sasuke Uchiha."

"I didn't ask who you were but what you are," Abunaisuke said. "Obviously you're me. But you are a past version of me. Did they bring you here from the past to change the future?" He paused. "No. Even they are not dumb enough to do that. That must mean you are from another world." Amazement flashed through Naruto's eyes. "So there are other worlds." His pause was shorter than his first one. "Interesting." Faster than anyone could blink, Abunaisuke appeared before Naruto, an arm around him. "The first time I killed you released the Kyuubi. I wonder if this time would be any different." He began to pull out his sword. Sasuke suddenly appeared behind Naruto, grabbing Abunaisuke's wrists. Abunaisuke smirked and met Sasuke's eyes. "I've never killed myself before." His swirling eyes met Sasuke's.

Sasuke blinked as he realized he was caught in Abunaisuke's Tsukuyomi. Sasuke knew he could beat Itachi's, but could he beat Abunaisuke's? Abunaisuke appeared before Sasuke. "You have Itachi's eyes. That means you killed him too." He pointed to his own eyes. "These are Aniki's too. Tell me, did they lie to you too? I bet they did. Aniki sacrificed a lot for us. And what did Konoha do? They saw him as a villain. How stupid they are." He smirked evilly. "But I showed them. Let me show you what happened, both of you." Sasuke turned around and saw Naruto behind him. The blond had been in Itachi's Tsukuyomi, but he could tell this was different, more powerful. Abunaisuke waved a hand and a black rectangle appeared. It was like a movie screen. The black screen burst into colors. The colors wrapped around the ninjas and spread throughout the Tsukuyomi world. Konoha was formed and Sasuke and Naruto could tell that they were in the middle of the village.

Screams tore through the air as houses caught fire. Some tried to put of the fire while others just ran away. The ground shook as thunder roared. Lightning stuck a clothing store. Naruto watched in horror as his home was burning. Sasuke watched calmly as he knew this was what he was going to do. The sound of a crying baby broke through the thunder. A flash of orange appeared, keeping a building from collapsing. A clone of the man grabbed the baby quickly before the original could no longer hold up the crumbling wall. The clone handed over the baby before disappearing. A pink haired woman appeared and took the baby from the blond boy.

They watched the blond jump onto the roof. The scene followed the boy as he made it through the destruction. The blond landed before a boy with black hair. "Why are you doing this?"

"You know why," the black hair boy said. "I'm going to kill them all. And you aren't getting in my way." He pulled out his sword and swung it at the blond. Soon, a fight broke out, kunai vs. Sword. When neither looked to be winning, the blond formed a Rasengan. The other was just as fast and a Chidori was formed. The jutsus collided. The two were sent flying.

Red Chakra formed around the blond as three tails were formed. A purple skeleton formed around the black haired boy. Red and blue Chakra appeared in small balls and the blond sucked them towards him. They merged into one then shrunk. The blond swallowed the ball. A black fiery arrow was pulled back. The arrow suddenly shot forward as the blond opened his mouth. A beam of yellow light was spewed from his mouth. The beam and the arrow collided.

Wind ripped through the air as a crater appeared where the two stood. Dust was formed with lightning coursing through it. When the dust cleared, Sasuke and Naruto gasped. The raven in front of them had his sword pierced through the blonde's chest. The red chakra around the blond vanished. Surprise filled blue eyes. He looked down at the sword in his chest just a centimeter above his heart. He looked at the raven with pleading eyes. The raven just smirked and pushed his sword down. Blue eyes widened as the raven pulled out his sword. The blond fell forward and the raven just watched, not caring. Suddenly, red chakra surrounded the blonde's body. The chakra shot into the air. Seconds later, a giant fox stood above the blonde's prone body. The fox growled and got ready to attack the raven. Red eyes met swirling black and red ones and the fox knew he had lost his freedom. With full control over the Kyuubi, the raven finished destroying Konoha. Without caring about the survivors, the raven jumped on Kyuubi's back and road towards Suna. One by one the two destroyed the Five Great Shinobi Nations. The raven then returned to Konoha to find the blonde's body missing and not a soul in sight. The raven smirked as he made a throne for himself. It was the being of his rule over the world.

The Tsukuyomi returned to normal. Sasuke and Naruto stood in shook at what had happened. Sasuke knew that he was planning to do almost exactly the same to Konoha, but seeing it from this point of view made him sick. He couldn't look at Naruto. Naruto was ready to cry. He knew Sasuke hated him and Konoha but not to that extent. Abunaisuke smirked. He enjoyed the painful looks on their faces. He stepped up behind Sasuke. "Like what you saw? I bet you did. I can tell you know, that you also want Konoha to burn to the ground." Sasuke said nothing.

Abunaisuke appeared behind Naruto and wrapped his arms around him, his left hand going to Naruto's throat. "What about you? What do you think of my past, the future your Sasuke intends to make?" Tears rolled down Naruto's face. Abunaisuke laughed. That's what I thought." He released Naruto, only to bring a hand down against his neck, knocking him unconscious. He lifted Naruto up, bridal-style. "And Sakura, enjoy the live you have." He smirked as she glared, charging at him. But he was gone before she could reach him.

Sakura cursed. Then she turned back to Sasuke. He was still frozen in place. Sakura stepped up to him, placing a hand on his shoulder. He smack it away before glaring at the sky, a rain drop hitting his forhead.

Abunaisuke placed Naruto on the ground of a cave, just as rain began to pour down. He looked down at the blond, wondering what to do with him. He didn't know why he had kidnapped him. Naruto was a thorne in his past. The Kyuubi was inside him, probably roaring with rage at the possibility that he'd kill this host as well. His thoughts were broken when he heard the tell tail sign of his cave-mate coming towards him.

"Sasuke?" the voice asked. Abunaisuke turned to look into crystalline blue eyes.
