Chapter 47: Time Back X And X New Exam

Seven days. Seven long days. That was how much time Naruto and Sasuke ended up spending around Light and Ryuzaki. Over the week, they had been introduced to the Kira Investigation Squad. Misa also showed up a few times. Naruto and Sasuke could tell that Light didn't love Misa, but they said nothing. At one point, Ryuzaki compaired Naruto to Misa and Matsuda, but he was proven wrong. Naruto had found one of Ryuzaki's riddle books and had answered some, all of which were correct.

Light showed them how to use the internet. Naruto became obsessed with it, enjoying the videos of various animals and various games like Roller Coaster Tycoon. Sasuke used it for research. He wanted to know if anyone knew about the possibility of other worlds. He believed if he could find someone, they may be able to spead up their journey. But he only found conspiracy theorists. So, instead he decided on watching Ryuzaki and Light trying to find out about the newest Kira. It was a bit amuzing to watch them argue about how to find the new Kira. Light wanted to just go to the city mentioned in the type. Ryuzaki believed it would be better to wait. It seemed like Light was winning the arguement.

"Fine," Ryuzaki said. "We'll go." He turned to Naruto and Sasuke. "What about you two? Will you two be coming with us?"

"No," Sasuke said. He stood up, heading towards the door leading up to their room.

"Sa..." Naruto began. His eyes caught the green light on Sasuke's bracelet before the raven disappeared. "Oh." He rubbed his neck. "Looks like we will be going somewhere else."

"Moving on to another world?" Light asked.

"Looks like it," Naruto said. He waited a few more seconds before Sasuke appeared with their bags. He tossed Naruto's to him. Just as Naruto caught it, they were swallowed by the green light. "Bye guys!" Naruto waved. Ryuzaki found himself waving after them as they disappeared.

"That was very interesting," Ryuzaki said turning towards Light. "I wonder if someone held one of their hands if they'd end up going with them."

"No," a voice said. Light and Ryuzaki turned around to see a boy standing where Naruto and Sasuke once stood. He wore a top-hat with a pair of goggels resting at the rim. A dark-brown jacket sat upon his black shirt, the bottonw made of gears. On his arms were brown gloves with a watch head in the center of both. Black pants went into chocolate brown boots with the buckles being kept in place by clock gears. A gold chain hung out of his left jacket pocket.

"Who are you?" Light asked.

"My name is Jikan," the boy said, his face not showing any emotion. "And I've been asked to clean thing up."

"What do you mean?" Light asked.

Jikan reached into his pocket and pulled out a large poket watch. "I have to reset things. A week will do. The time will be 3:46 PM." Ryuzaki stared at Jikan as he tried to figure out what he meant. Realization hit him.

"What are you...?" Light began but he suddenly felt dizzy. Ryuzaki felt the same way. They felt the ground moving before their feet as it shifted. Light blinked as he opened his eyes. Before him was the street he had been on just a week ago. He walked forward as if nothing happened. Ryuk said nothing, since he too hadn't known anything.

Ryuzaki spun around in his chair as his eyes opened to face his the TVs, several new stations reporting the deaths of the day before. He sighed. Another ten people were dead and he wasn't anywhere closer to catching Kira. His mind flashed to Light. He still believed that Light was connected to Kira. Just as he was about to contact Watari he had a feeling of deja vu. Shaking his head, he pressed the button to call Watari.

Jikan stood on the Kira Investigation Headquarter's roof. His phone rang. Raising it to his ear, he listened to the voice on it. "Is it complete?" "Yes," Jikan said. "Time has been reset to just before they arrived." "Good. We can't have them change this world. It has its own path." Jikan nodded despite knowing the one on the phone couldn't see him. "Thank you for your assistance." "No problem, Sashira." Jikan hang up and pocketed his phone. With one last look at the world around him, he disappeared.

Hundreds of feet in the air was a giant airship. It was over fifty feet long. Inside stood over five-hundred people. Some stood apart from the others while some were having conversations with their fellow hunters. A young boy stood in the crowd, looking around until he saw someone he knew.

"Killua!" Gon called, running over to him. "Long time no see!"

"Yeah," Killua said, his hands in his pocket. "How did it go with Ging?"

"He told me his story," Gon said. He began to tell Killua everything that had happened in the last two years. In return, Killua told Gon what he went through. It turned out that Alluca was now waiting at their appartment to hear if Killua passed this exam. "So, what do you think is gonna happen here?"

"Don't know," Killua said.

"Apparently it is a test to see if you can get a star," a voice said.

"Hanzo!" Gon said. "Long time no see."

"Hi Gon," Hanzo said. "How have you been?"

"Good," Gon said. "And you?"

"Busy," Hanzo said. "My mission requires a star on my hunter's lisence."

"What's your..." Gon began. A loud beep echoed through the room. Everyone turned to see a man in a black suit. Gon couldn't help but smile at the familiar face.

"As you know, since the election of the new chairman, a test has been chosen to give stars to hunters," the man began. "This test will be a lot harder than the first one you took. We have a lot of you, so my goal is to dwindle the numbers down as much as possible. Good luck." Suddenly, everyone was falling out of the airship. The place they had been standing had opened up, releasing them. Gon, Killua, and Hanzo fell quickly, screams surrounding them. The three knew that this was part of the test. Gon pulled out his fishing rod and swung it back towards the airship. But the line was too short.

"Use Rock against the ground to slow us down!" Killua yelled to Gon. Gon nodded before readying his attack. A beam of light came from his fist, blasting the ground below. An updrift caused them to slow down a bit, but not for long. Killua grabbed Gon's hand and Hanzo's arm. Surrounding them with lightning, Killua was ready to soften their impact. Hanzo caught on to what Killua was doing and let part of his aura out. It strengthened Killua's. The three then slammed into the ground. Caughing, the three stood up, dusting off their clothes.

"Good job," a voice said. The examiner stood on a tree branch.

"Nice warning, Satotz," another hunter said. The girl stood on a branch under Satotz's. She had brown hair and eyes. A scar ran across one of her eyes in a slant. She wore a black cloak and black boots. Bandages wrapped around the lower half of her face. A sword was on her back.

"Ah Kana," Satotz said. "Good to see you." The girl nodded. "Now then." He cleared his voice. "Anyone else that is ok to continue shall follow me." He jump down from the tree and started to walk away. Kana followed after him. Gon, Killua, and Hanzo looked at each other before doing the same. Several people followed after them. It seemed that so far only 5% of the hunters were unable to continue.

"It seems we actually have some competition," Killua said as he looked around. Some of the hunters had caught up to them.

"Reminds me of our exam," Gon said. A scream towards the left of the large group of hunters caused everyone to glance in that direction. A hunter had been caught by a strange plant and their body was melting. Gon wanted to help the hunter, but Kana beat him to it. She sliced through the plant, saving the hunter. The hunter bowed, running back the way the came. One less person was now in the exam. Hunters continued to drop as the walk continued. Some from exhaustion, some after being saved by Kana. Gon kept staring at Kana. Something about her confused him.

Satotz increased his spead for the fifth time, causing even more hunters to drop out. "Weak," Killua called them. Gon just hoped they were alive. The group looked up in amazement at the green flash of light that came from ahead. Satotz frowned, not knowing what it was. This didn't stop him from continuing the exam.

About three hours later, the group came to a stop at the top of the mountain. Some collapsed, breathing heavily. "This is the next part of the exam. We will be staying the night here until the second examiner shows up." Satotz sat down. Several of the hunters teamed up to get food and water. Satotz built a small fire for himself. Kana sat a few feet away from him with a fire of her own. Gon, Killua, and Hanzo also made a fire. They continued to talk about their adventures over the last two and half years.

Naruto and Sasuke pulled themselves out of the water, cursing. They had landed in a small lake. Naruto tossed his bag to the ground before removing his shirt and pants. Sasuke blinked as Naruto froze. The blond blushed slightly before squwating down and opening his bag. Sasuke shook his head before he too began to change his clothes. When both were done, the two decided to look at their maps. Several names appeared on their maps. Naruto and Sasuke fought over weither to go towards the group or to stay where they were.

The two made their way through the forest only to stop when they saw a few people laying on the ground. "They're alive," Sasuke said.

"I wonder what they are doing here," Naruto said.

"Probably fell behind," Sasuke said. His map as still out. The names written on the map before his own were ones he saw earlier. "There is still a group of over three hundred people up ahead." The names of all those people blended together, but Sasuke's sharingan was able to pick out each one. He closed the map, letting his sharingan fade. "If you still want to meet up with that group, we better go now. Who knows how long they'll stay there."

"But what about these people?" Naruto asked.

"Leave them," Sasuke said. "They seem capable of protecting themselves." He montioned to a man with two swords. Naruto hesitantly agreed before the two coninued to make their way towards the large group. Both hoped they'd come across a village.

So, some of you may be confused about what happened at the end of the Death Note part of this chapter. Jikan turned back time to just before Naruto and Sasuke arrived. This also erased the memories of everyone in that world that were created over the week they were there. This includes Ryuk and Rem. Jikan is a master of times and was contacted by Sashira, the watcher that takes care of this world. With the help of Megami, Sashira was able to contact Jikan to make that request. Knowing about the other worlds was going to stop Ryuzaki from leaving with Light. Sashira's request will now set Ryuzaki and Light back on their correct paths.

Sashira is a Watcher, but she will not appear again since she only watches over Death Note worlds. As for Jikan, he is more like a god. This means he will most likely appear in Bride of the Lightning God.

As for the Hunter X Hunter world, this takes place 2 years after the end of the anime (2011). Kana is an OC.
