Mabel and Dipper left the Town by Bus and everyone at the Station is sad.

But not only them.

Candy and Granda have been on the way to the Diner when they saw Pacifica on a bench.

Candy: „Look, there's Pacifica. Is she cryin'?"

Granda: „LOOKS LIKE IT!"

Candy: „I've never seen her so emotional! Only beeing snobby and angered."

Granda: „SHOULD WE GO OVER AND COMFORT HER?"

Candy: „Why? It's Pacifica we are talkin' about!"

Granda: „NOW DON'T BE CRUEL! SHE HAS SAVED US! AND SHE WAS WITH US AGAINST THAT YELLOW TRIANGLE!"

Candy: „She wanted to sue us all!"

Granda: „WE ALL HAVE BEEN VERY TENSE AND SCARED! I DON'T THINK SHE REALLY MEANT IT!"

Candy: „Okay Granda, you're right. Let's try it."

Pacifica was frightened, when Granda shouted: „HEY PAZ? WHAT'S UP? ARE YOU OKAY?"

Pacifica: „Eeeek! Don't shock me that way!"

Granda: „I'M SORRY!"

Pacifica was sceptical. „What do you want fron me?"

Candy: „We saw you cryin' and thought, you might need company."

Pacifica: „Oh. That's nice. But why should you care about me?"

Candy: „Allright, then we go! Bye!"

Pacifica reached out for their hands. „No! Please don't go! I didn't meant it that way!"

Candy: „Okay, then tell us what's on your chest."

Pacifica's eyes get wet again. „It's because of the twins. I could not say farewell to them. And now they are gone. And maybe i cannot see them ever again. I want to know them better so much, but now i am so lonely again!"

Tears are runnig down her face uncontrolled and smearing her makeup.

Granda: „WE DID NOT KNOW, YOU LIKE THEM SO MUCH!"

Pacifica: „I did not know that myself until now!"

Candy was looking sad now, too. She feels Pacifica's pain. „Look Pacifica, you don't have to be lonesome. We are here for you!"

Pacifica: „Really? But i was such a jerk to you!"

Granda: „EVERYONE DESERVES A SECOND CHANCE! SINCE THE PARTY AT YOUR HOUSE YOU HAVE BEEN DIFFERENT. WE WOULD BE JERKS OURSELFES, IF WE WOULD IGNORE YOU!"

Pacifica was overwhelmend. More Tears were runnig down her face. But now they are tears of joy.

Pacifica: „I'd like to be friends with you. I don't have any other friends. My parents don't want me to have some."

Candy: „What's with the two girls, which always have been with you?"

Pacifica: „Them? They have not been my friends. They were paid by my father to make sure i behave like my parents wanted me to! But i cannot stand that all anymore! I don't want to be like my parents!

Candy and Granda are shocked. They allways thought Pacifica is happy in her rich life. They never thought about the dark side of that all.

Candy: „Listen Pacifica. We want to help you breaking out of that!"

Pacifica: „Thanks! And i told you only a fragment of it all. If you knew how cruel my parents treated me,...but i cannot talk about that now. I want to thank you for taking care of me. I promise i try to become a better person. I really need a change in my life."

Granda: „MAYBE A JOB WOULD HELP YOU TO ADJUST."

Pacifica: „Who would give ME of all people a job?"

Granda and Candy could not answer it now.

They all said goodby to eachother and promised to meet again.

Next day they are sitting in Greasy's Diner.

They were eating pancakes, when Granda saw a job offer hanging on the wall.

Granda: „HEY PAZ! MAYBE THAT'S SOMETHING FOR YOU?!"

Pacifica: „I don't know. I'm not good with people."

Candy: „But you learn from it!"

Pacifica was not sure. Is she ready for that?

Granda: „WE BELIEVE IN YOU!"

Pacifica: „Okay. I try it!"

She trembles all over her body, but goes over to the counter.

Pacifica: „Hello? I saw you have a job offer and i wondered, if i maybe…"

Susan, who is running the diner, was amazed who was talking to her right now.

Susan: „Hello sweety. Are you sure you really want that? And why?"

Pacifica: „Yeah, i really want it. I cannot believe it myself. Ridicoulous, right!? Sorry for interrupting you! I better go! Bye!"

Susan: „Hold on, little lady! Don't give up so fast!"

Pacifica yould not believe it.

Susan: „You don't think i send you away because you are you, don't you?"

Pacifica: „Yes. No. I mean. I don't know!"

Susan: „Oh honey, don't tremble! I understand why you need time away from your home."

Pacifica: „You do?"

Susan: „Oh yes! I maybe look a little crazy, but i'm not dumb! I know what happend at that party. It's a small town, you know!? And i know your parents. Bad people. I understand you want to break free from them."

Pacifica smiled. Susan gave her a good offer. Not much money, but good working times. But the money was not important to her. It was the chance to break out of the toxic relationship with her parents. Ans she woild be able to learn to come around better with the townsfolk. She wants to belong.

„I have done it!", she said to Candy and Granda.

Candy: „You have done the right thing! The first step to freedom!"

Granda: „WOW! GREAT PAZ!"

They clink theire milkshakes together.

Pacifica was nervous, but proud of herself. But what will her parants think about it? She was afraid of thinking about it, when she went home.

The next morning she left the house at 8 AM. Her workshift started at 8:30 AM. It's still sommer break, but not for too long anymore. What's after that? Another shift? Maybe.

Pacifica: „Oh my. Maybe i cannot do it!"

But in the Diner she was greeted lovely by Susan and the other Workers.

That made Pacifica less tense.

The day was relative quiet. She was a little shaky, but nobody complained about her.

At 12:30 AM Wendy entered the Diner

Wendy: „Pacifica? Is that you? Are you working here?"

Pacifica: „Yes! Is it illegal?"

Wendy: „No, but i did not expect you to do such a thing!"

Pacifica: „What can i serve you?"

Wendy: „Blueberrypancakes please."

Pacifica: „Alright!"

„This summer changed a lot!", Wendy said to herself.

After Pacifica served Wendy her pancackes, they talked a little.

After that Pacifica's shift was over and she got on her way home.

But her parents were already expecting her.

Pacifica got into the house without greeting.

Preston: „Pacifica-Elise Northwest! What's the matter with you working?"

Priscilla: „Shame on you, Pacifica!"

Preston: „That's gonna have consequences, you brat!"

Pacifica started to shiver.

Preston: „I will call the diner and cancel your work contract! You are a shame for our Family!"

Pacifica: „No! Please don't do that!"

Preston: „Oh yes, i will! And i will do MORE! IN MY BUREAU!"

Pacifica: „What? What are you up to?"

Preston: „You will see it, you bitch!"

Pacifica has heard enough. Instead following him, she was running away.

Preston: „I will find you!"

Pacifica was running back to the Diner.

Susan: „Hey, back again so soon?"

Pacifica: „Please help me! My Father is hunting me?"

Susan: „He is WHAT?"

The door opened with a lout WHAM.

Preston: „For a Northwest you are really dumb! Very disappointing!"

Pacifica: „Please, let me alone!"

Preston: „Oh i will, you brat! You are not longer tolerated in our house!"

Pacifica: „What? You kick me out?! You cannot be serious!"

Preston: „I was never more serious! I give you free for adoption! You are a shame and we do not want you anymore!"

Pacifica could not compute that all and fainted.

Susan: „Oh my god, Paz, say something!"

Preston was grinning diabolical and left the diner.

When Pacifica got up again, she did not know where is was.

Pacifica: „Where...where am i?"

Susan: „Don't worry, you are at my house."

Pacifica: „Oh, it's you."

Susan: „You can call me Susan."

Pacifica: „Sure. Thanks. OMG...what am i supposed to do? I am homeless. And now i have to go to a normal school. They will kill me there."

Susan: „Calm down, Pacifica. I will handle all that. You can live here, if you want."

Pacifica smiled. Susan was so nice to her.

Susan: „Let me show you your room."

Pacifica: „Susan? I do not deserve you beeing so nice to me!"

Susan: „Sure you do! You have gone through so many trash!"

Pacifica was tearing up. After showing Pacifica her room, Susan made her cocoa and pancakes. They talked the whole evening.

Next day was Pacifica's free day and she met at the Diner with Candy and Granda.

She told them what happened yesterday and they could not believe it.

Candy: „I am glad you have Susan!"

Granda: „AND WHAT DO YOU DO NOW?"

Pacifica: „For the next time i am living with her and then…"

Her Mobile was ringing.

Pacifica: „Sorry Girls! Yes? Who is there?"

Dipper: „Hi, it's me, Dipper!

Pacifica: „Oh. I did not know, you have a phone!"

Dipper: „Yeah, my parents gave it to me today. I just wanted to give you my number!"

Pacifica: „Thanks."

Dipper: „Ugh...maybe we could talk or text sometime?"

Pacifica: „I'd like that!"

Dipper: „Great! Then bye for now!"

Pacifica: „Bye, Dipper!"

Candy and Granda could not believe what they heard.

Candy: „Hey, was that really Dipper on the phone?"

Pacifica was getting red on her cheeks. „Y...yes, it was him."

Candy: „That's great. He is a nice guy!"

Pacifica: „Yes, he is...but i we don't really know each other!"

Candy: „You know as much as i do, that you both do! And you both so like eachother!"

Pacifica: „Maybe...but i don't know!"

After they finished their drinks, they decided to take a walk though the forest, because the town was still not fully restored.
