So, I decided to re-watch Reborn to get a better feel for the characters and I realized that my depiction of Hibari is off due to the timeline I set them in. The fix turned out to be easier than I thought it would be. We just have to picture them being slightly older

Chapter 68: Mafia Mess

When Tsuna awoke he noticed that Reborn was gone. This could only mean one thing, Reborn was up to no good. He glances over at Naruto and Sasuke who were asleep in his bed. Naruto was against the wall with Sasuke's head in his lap. Tsuna wondered how someone could fall asleep like that since it was surely uncomfortable. Sasuke must have felt eyes on him since he suddenly opened his eyes, staring right at Tsuna. Tsuna flinched at seeing those cold black eyes. Sasuke blinked before he carefully moved away from Naruto, not waking him up.

"What is it?" Sasuke asked.

"N-nothing," Tsuna said. "Are you hungry? I'm sure mom is making breakfast."

"Hn," Sasuke grunted. He glances at Naruto. He could sense the trace of Kyuubi's Chakra from both of their bodies. This meant that Naruto used it to help heal him. He couldn't help but smile at the thought of Naruto caring so much about him.

"He cares about you a lot," Tsuna stated bluntly. When Sasuke turned his gaze back to him, he laughed nervously. "Anyway, I think we should get up. We have a full day ahead of us." He jumped to his feet and walked over to his dresser. "If you need to borrow some clothes, I'm sure I have something that will fit you."

"We have our own clothes," Sasuke said. He shook Naruto awake. The blond blinked then yawned. "Breakfast."

Naruto nodded. He climbed out of bed and grabbed his bag. Then he frowned. "My normal clothes aren't going to fit me."

"How long are you stuck like that?" Sasuke asked.

"I don't know," Naruto admitted.

"I have some clothes from when I was five," Tsuna said. "They will fit you." He walked over to his closet and pulled out a box. "I was going to go donate these today, but if you can use them, you can have them." He turned to give the box to Naruto only to see a pout on his face and a smirk on Sasuke's. "What's wrong?"

"I'm seven in this form," Naruto said.

"Oh," Tsuna blushed. "Sorry." He put the box down. Naruto frowned but took a look inside the box. He pulled out a set of clothes, not really caring what he wore. He changed quickly. Sasuke had to hold back his laughter at seeing Naruto in kids clothes. Tsuna also changed quickly. Sasuke on the other time had a hard time changing. He was still in a bit of pain. Naruto watched as Sasuke carefully took off his shirt. He frowned at seeing some bruises on the pale skin. Naruto called upon Kurama's chakra and walked over to Sasuke. Just as Naruto was about to put a hand on Sasuke's chest, Sasuke stopped him.

"What are you doing?" Sasuke asked, gripping Naruto's hand tightly.

"Healing you," Naruto said.

"Don't bother," Sasuke said. "It's just a few bruises." He released Naruto's hand and grabbed a new shirt. He caught Naruto's stare. "What?"

Naruto blushed and turned away. "N-nothing."

Sasuke raised an eyebrow before putting the shirt on. He grunted through the pain before moving onto his pants. He nearly gagged when he saw some blood on his boxers and pulled his pants back up. "Where is the bathroom?"

"It's next door," Tsuna said.

"Hn, thanks," Sasuke said. He grabbed his bag and made his way to the bathroom. He pulled off his pants and boxers. Blood was on his clothes from his wounds. Grabbing a shirt he didn't really care about, he cleaned his body. He really wanted to take a shower, but with the bruises he knew he couldn't. He tossed the shirt into his bag of dirty clothes. He then got dressed. Sasuke looked at himself in the mirror. He didn't regret his decision and he knew he never would. Taking a deep breath, Sasuke left the bathroom. He nearly walked into Naruto who was standing there was a concerned look on his face.

"Are you alright?" Naruto asked.

"I'm fine," Sasuke said. Naruto was about to say something when Tsuna's mother called up to her son.

"Tsuna, Dino is here," she said.

"Dino?" Tsuna ran out of his room. He, along with Sasuke and Naruto, looked down the stairs to see a blond man standing next to Tsuna's mother.

"Hi Ototo!" Dino said.

"I made breakfast," Tsuna's mother said. "Feel free to join us."

"Thanks Mama!" Dino said, smiling.

"Your welcome," Tsuna's mother said. She disappeared into the kitchen.

Dino turned back to Tsuna and began to walk up the stairs. Not even ten seconds later, Dino tripped over his own feet and fell down. "Ow!" He rubbed at his head that had hit a wall. He glanced down at his feet. "Guess I need to get new socks."

Tsuna helped Dino up. "Are you alright?"

"Yeah," Dino said. "By the way, you didn't forget about our training, did you?"

Tsuna shook his head. "How could I? Reborn has been reminding me all week. The others will be at the field a little before ten."

"Good," Dino said. He glanced at Naruto and Sasuke. "Who are they? More Family Members?"

"No," Tsuna said. "Naruto was hit with Lambo's bazooka."

"Did Giannini get ahold of it again?" Dino asked.

Tsuna shrugged. "I don't know. But he has been like this since yesterday after school."

"I see," Dino said. "And the one that's glaring at me? What's his story?"

"Sasuke," Naruto said. "Stop it."

"Hn," Sasuke crossed his arms and looked away. Naruto's stomach chose that time to rumble. He blushed as Dino laughed.

"Well, let's go eat," Dino said. "You'll need your energy Tsuna." Tsuna nodded and followed after Dino. Naruto glanced at Sasuke before he followed them. Sasuke stood still for a minute. He didn't want to spend too much time with these people. But he knew that his body needed food. He carefully made his way to the dining room, dodging a Lambo who was running around trying to steal Tsuna's food. Sasuke took a seat next to Naruto and ate slowly. Naruto on the other hand ate quickly. Neither Tsuna nor Dino said anything about their eating habits. Tsuna's mother was more than happy to hand Naruto another plate of pancakes. Once everyone was done eating, Naruto offered to help wash the dishes, but Tsuna's mother told him to go have fun. He nodded before running back up the stairs. He came down with his backpack and a few volumes of One Piece. Sasuke moved slower as he too grabbed his things. There wasn't anything he wanted to read so he didn't bother to take a book. He wondered if he could convince Naruto that they should stay around Tsuna. He didn't want to be dragged into whatever was going on. Sasuke could tell that Tsuna and Dino weren't normal humans. He glanced down at Lambo who was running around. And neither was this kid or Reborn.

A few minutes later, they arrived at their destination to find Hayato and Hibari fighting. It was clear that Hibari had the upper hand. Ryohei and Yamamoto were also there, talking about baseball and boxing. "I see you guys made it," Dino said. He put an arm around Hibari's shoulder. "Though it seems someone is missing."

"Ah!" Tsuna said. "Mukuro-san isn't here."

"We don't really need him," Hibari said, brushing off Dino's arm. "He's a nuisance."

"You just don't like him since he beat the crap out of you," Hayato said.

"It looks like you need to be taught a lesson after all," Hibari said, pulling out his tonfas.

"Bring it," Hayato said, pulling out a few sticks of dynamite.

"Alright!" Dino said. "Calm down you..." He fell forward. "...two." He glared at his feet. "Stupid shoes."

Tsuna sighed. "Is he always like that?" Naruto asked.

Tsuna nodded. "He's very clumsy when his subordinates aren't around. We should be fine as long as he doesn't pull out his bullwhip." And Dino did just that. The teens backed away from the blond man as they knew what was going to happen. Lambo though was still running around and the whip hit him. He began to cry and pulled out his bazooka. "Not again!" He made a move to stop Lambo, but he was too late. Lambo fired the bazooka. But Lambo wasn't the one hit. Dino's whip hit the bazooka, knocking it out of the boy's hands and to the ground. The blast hit Sasuke.

"Sasuke!" Naruto yelled. He ran to Sasuke's side. His eyes widened as he took in the form of an older Sasuke. "S-sasuke?"

"Hn," Sasuke patted himself down as if to get rid of any dirt. He then scowled. "My clothes are ruined." It was bad. At twenty-seven, Sasuke was about a half-foot taller and more well-built. His clothes were badly torn in several places.

Naruto's face was red as his eyes moved over Sasuke's form. He couldn't help but admire the raven's look. Feeling eyes on him, Sasuke turned towards Naruto, but the blond had already turned away. Sasuke raised an eyebrow. Sighing, the man opened his backpack, that luckily hadn't been ruined, and took out the black cloak that Xion gave him. It barely fit him, but it would have to do.

"I'm sorry," Tsuna said. "Lambo didn't do it on purpose."

"Hn," Sasuke grunted. 'Ten years. That's what they said. So this is me in ten years.' He glanced at Naruto. 'What will he look like in ten years?' The picture of Minato from their academy books popped in his head. 'Will he look even more like his father? Or maybe his mother? Dammit! I want to know.' His eyes fell on the bazooka that was now in Tsuna's arms. 'If he gets hit by that again, will he return to normal?'

"Hey Tsuna?" Naruto asked. "If I was hit with the bazooka again, would I get my normal body back?"

"That's not how it works," Tsuna said. "The bazooka makes the target switch places with their future self. If you were hit normally, you'd be in the future and your future self would be here in your place. This only lasts five minutes though."

"So because of how it was shot, the usual didn't happen," Dino said. He turned to Sasuke. "Sorry about that." Sasuke remained quiet. Thinking that Sasuke didn't understand him, he continued. "If you two were to be hit again in an attempt to fix things, Naruto would be switched with his twenty-seven-year-old self while you Sasuke would be switched with your seven-year-old self."

Naruto's eyes widened. 'His seven-year-old self. That's when Itachi…' He gulped, before putting on a fake smile. "Guess we'll have to wait it out then, right Sasuke?"

"Hn," Sasuke grunted.

"S-sorry I'm late!" someone yelled. Everyone turned to see a girl carrying a trident running towards them. She came to a stop before Tsuna. "I had to get away from Ken and Chikusa." She caught her breath then smiled. "Hello Boss!" She kissed him on his cheek.

Tsuna blushed while Hayato looked ready to kill her. "So everyone is here then," Reborn said. Everyone turned towards him. "As you all know, there has been a new Box circulating through various Families. It's power is unknown, but there have been many deaths already. It is said that the Box appears before its next target and will continue to appear before them until the target is eliminated. No one has been able to open it. That is where you guys come in. Everyone has agreed that whomever the next target is, they will come here for the assistance of the Vongola."

"Why us?" Tsuna asked. Naruto tugged on Sasuke's sleeve. Sasuke saw the blond pointing away from Tsuna's group and he nodded. "Shouldn't someone else deal with the Box? It sounds dangerous."

"Tsuna, don't be a coward," Reborn said. He watched Sasuke and Naruto walk away from them, but he said nothing. "This is your job as the Tenth."

Whatever Tsuna said, Sasuke didn't hear. He came to a stop nearly half a mile away from them, wondering what Naruto wanted. "You're not going to try it?" Naruto suddenly asked.

"Try what?" Sasuke asked.

"Switching with your seven-year-old self," Naruto said. He was staring at the ground. "To change the past."

"Five minutes isn't long enough to change the past, Dobe," Sasuke said.

At that, Naruto glared up at him. "Teme! You could save Itachi!" He looked back down. "You might not be able to stop the massacre, but you could make Itachi tell you the truth. Then you wouldn't have…" Naruto trailed off.

"Killed him," Sasuke said. "You can say it. I killed Itachi." He crouched down. "And five minutes in the past won't change that."

"I know," Naruto said. "But even then, I'm surprised you don't want to try it. You could even prevent this." He motioned to the world around them. "You could make it so that we never left Konoha."

"Get to it," Sasuke said. "Ask me what you really want to ask."

"Do you…" Naruto began.

"So this is where you went," Yamamoto said. "Tsuna is looking for you."

Sasuke stood back up. "We're coming."

Yamamoto smiled. "Ok." He turned around and started walking towards where Tsuna and the others were. Sasuke and Naruto followed after him, neither saying a word. When Tsuna saw them, he ran up to them.

"Are you two ok?" he asked. "I thought maybe something happened. The Ten-Year Bazooka seems to have a strange effect on you."

"Will you help us?" Reborn asked, cutting Tsuna off.

"Reborn?" Tsuna looked at the baby in a mixture of confusion and surprise.

Reborn ignored him. "You two seem to be strong. With your help, we won't have to worry about the Box."

"Reborn, they are outsiders!" Hayato yelled. "They could be responsible for the Box."

"For once, I agree with him," Hibari said, arms crossed. "They just happened to show around the same time this Box thing did. And that one appeared at our school." He motioned to Sasuke with a nod of his head.

"I don't think they are dangerous," Yamamoto said. Chrome nodded in agreement.

"I don't really get it," Ryohei said. "But they seem harmless. Especially the blond."

"Should we put it to a vote?" Gino asked.

"Wait!" Tsuna yelled. Everyone turned towards him. "They don't even know what you're asking, Reborn. Besides, if they get involved, they could die!"

"They won't die," Reborn said. Tsuna glanced at Naruto and Sasuke. He could tell that they had power in them, but he wasn't sure if it was a good idea to rely on whatever power it was. His instincts were fighting each other and he had no idea which to pick. Part of him said to keep the two out of their mess while the other part said he needed their help.

"I'm not helping," Sasuke said. "That Box business is yours not ours. We have nothing to do with this world. Besides, we can't work with these bodies."

"Are you afraid?" Reborn asked. Sasuke glared at him. "I suppose Gokudera is right. You would just get in the way."

Naruto tugged on Sasuke's sleeve. Sasuke glanced down at him and the blond shook his head. "Trying to bait us with anger isn't going to work. Sasuke's concerns are valid. I've worked with this body before, but Sasuke hasn't. Besides, that isn't how you ask for a favor." Reborn frowned. "On top of that, Tsuna clearly doesn't want us to get involved. If one of us got hurt, he'd feel responsible. I'm sure you would as well." He smiled sadly. "I can tell that you've lost someone before. You don't want to face those feelings again. That's completely understandable. But relying on strangers isn't a good idea. For all you know, we could be assassins waiting for the Box to kill you. Or we could want the Box for ourselves to use against our enemies."

"I don't believe that," Tsuna said. "Your words may sound mean but your kindness is clear. If we were in danger, you'd save us."

"It's the same," Chrome said. All eyes turned towards her. "Boss and Naruto have the same feeling." Tsuna and Naruto stared at each other in confusion.

Reborn smiled. "Naruto's like the sky." Everyone except for Naruto and Sasuke seemed to get what Reborn had said. "Though I can tell that he has more than that attribute."

"So he's like me," Hayato said. "He can use multiple Flames."

"Not just Naruto," Reborn said. A few eyes turned towards Sasuke. "If I was to guess, I'd say that between the two of them, they'd have control over all seven Flames."

"That's impossible!" Hayato yelled. "There is no way these two are stronger than the Tenth!"

"They are," Tsuna said, silencing Hayato's rage. "I can tell that they…" His voice trailed off as his eyes widened. "Gino." All eyes suddenly turned to Gino. "That's…"

"It just suddenly appeared while you were talking," Gino said. He held up a box that was red and black. "But I don't think I'm the target."

"Interesting," a voice said. "To think it would appear here, I guess I was right."

"Mukuro-san," Tsuna said while Chrome said "Mukuro-sama."

Mukuro jumped down from the fence and landed on his feet. He held a similar trident in his hands to Chrome's. "For it to come to the Vongola, you sure attract a lot of danger, Tsunayoshi-kun."

"What did you come here for?" Hayato asked.

"Did you already forget?" Mukuro smirked. "I was asked to come by the Arcobaleno."

"That still doesn't explain why you're here," Hayato said. "I doubt that you came here just because Reborn asked you to."

Mukuro's smirk widened. "You're right. I've come for that." He pointed to the Box. "Aren't you going to give it to me Tsunayoshi?"

"Why would we give the Box to you?" Hayato yelled.

"Can you destroy it?" Tsuna asked.

"No," Mukuro said. "I don't have the power to do that. Besides, I'm sure you know why I want the Box."

"To destroy the Mafia," Tsuna said. "At least, that is what you are pretending to want the Box for. Mukuro, why do you really want the Box?" Mukuro opened his mouth to say something, but he fell silent.

"It doesn't matter what he wants the Box for," Hayato said, pulling out a few sticks of dynamite. "I say we get rid of him."

"Agreed," Hibari said, pulling out his Tonfas.

"Kufufu," Mukuro laughed. "I'm afraid I can't let you stop me." A purple mist suddenly surrounded everyone. Mukuro disappeared into it.

"Genjutsu?" Naruto whispered.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted.

"I'll be taking that Box," Mukuro said.

"Gino!" Tsuna yelled. But Gino was already on the ground. Tsuna ran to the man's side. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Gino said. "He just hit me in the stomach."

"Kufufu," Mukuro laughed. "So you moved it. Guess I'll play who has the Box."

"Sasuke?" Naruto called.

"What?" Sasuke asked.

"They're in trouble," Naruto said. Sasuke raised an eyebrow at the shorter boy. "You're not going to help them?"

"I have no reason to," Sasuke said.

"Right," Naruto said. "Then I'll do something." He closed his eyes. Sasuke rolled his. He knew that Naruto was going to enter Sage Mode to try to stop Mukuro. He shook his head, sighing. Then his eyes found Reborn's. The baby had a strange look on his face causing Sasuke to frown. He followed Reborn's gaze to Naruto, or more accurately, Naruto's bag. Realization hit Sasuke and he glared at the baby. Reborn just lowered his head, smiling.

'So he wants us to get involved no matter what,' Sasuke thought. 'But to put the Box in Naruto's bag, that's going too far.' Naruto's eyes opened and he glanced backwards at his pack before his eyes caught Sasuke's. 'He noticed. Now he'll protect the Box with his life.' He glared at Reborn. 'I won't allow it.' Sasuke closed his eyes before opening them, Sharingan activated. He frowned. 'The illusion is weak.' Sasuke pulled out a kunai and threw it at Mukuro.

Mukuro used his trident to stop the kunai, his illusion disappearing. "Interesting. You saw through my illusion. Not bad. But now I know who has the Box." He looked at Naruto. "And I'm going to get it." He stabbed his trident into the ground. The ground began to break into pieces as an explosion of fire shot out towards Naruto. Sasuke simply jumped in front of Naruto, eyes spinning. "I see. You have special eyes. I wonder… how many of my illusions will you see through." Sasuke watched as Mukuro weaved a web of illusions together. He blinked a few times, making it clear that with just his Sharingan he wasn't going to beat Mukuro.

Naruto grabbed a part of Sasuke's robe and pulled, gaining Sasuke's attention. "Don't use Amaterasu."

"Hn," Sasuke grunted. His eyes shifted to the Mangekyo Sharingan. The web of illusions melted away and Sasuke was able to see Mukuro clearly. The other had no idea that Sasuke had broken free of his illusions. Several different ways of defeating Mukuro passed through Sasuke's mind. One was to simply use Amaterasu, but Naruto didn't want him to kill Mukuro. But Sasuke wasn't going to let Mukuro get away with threatening Naruto. "You should count yourself lucky. I haven't used this before, so I'm not sure if it will even work the way I want it to. But so be it." Sasuke disappeared and reappeared in front of Mukuro. The boy could only let out a surprised gasp as Sasuke grabbed his collar. "Tsukuyomi." Sasuke let Mukuro go as the boy let out a scream.

"Mukuro-sama!" Chrome yelled as she ran to his side. "What did you do?"

"That was too far Sasuke," Naruto said.

"Hn," Sasuke grunted. He walked over to Naruto and lifted the blond over his shoulder.

"What the hell Teme!" Naruto yelled. "Put me down."

Sasuke ignored him and put and hand into Naruto's bag. He grabbed the Box and tossed it towards Tsuna. "Keep your problems to yourself." With another glare, Sasuke and Naruto disappeared in a flash of lightning. Tsuna and the others were left in a state of shock, not sure what to do.

I also re-read the manga. This takes place towards the end of the manga. But I won't give away too many spoilers. I would recommend reading the manga over watching the anime due to the amount of recaps the anime has. Almost every episode has them and they can be around 5 minutes long. The manga also continues after the anime, but that doesn't mean the Anime's ending is bad. It is actually pretty good. The next chapter will be out soon.
