Candace is reading over her case when there is a knock on her door.

"Come in" she says expecting Kevin or Jenny

"Ehem"

Her head shoots up and eyes widened when she sees Jeremy Johnson in her doorway.

"Oh! Mr. Johnson!"

She shoots up from her chair almost knocking over her coffee mug on her paperwork.

"What- um to what do I owe this pleasure?"

Jeremy smirks at her clumsiness but it leaves as soon as it gets replaced by his serious business deminor.

"Well I have a meeting with an important client this afternoon and I need a second attorney present. Do youpresent. Do you would you like to join?"

Candace is taken aback by this request. There are other qualified attorneys to assist him. But she isn't going to let this opportunity pass.

"Of course. I'll see you this afternoon."

He nods stiffly and leaves. She lets out a breath she didn't know she was holding and sat back down with a huff. Why did he make her so nervous? He's just a guy! A really REALLY hot guy. But this is her job and she has to stay focused and professional. She didn't go to law school for 6 years for nothing. 12:00 arrived and Candace leaves her office to go to the meeting room. She doesn't know what to expect since he didn't care to brief her in on the details but perhaps this is some sort of test to see if she is really qualified to be here. After all this would be her first major case with this firm. She would SHOW him. She enters the room. It has a large oval shaped table with chairs all around it and at the front of the room has a large monitor. The brown table and gray chairs would look dull to most but Candace found it calming. She sits down on one of the chairs near the monitor and fidgets with her pen for a while.

"Good you're here" Mr. Johnson says entering the room with a few folders in his hands followed by an older petite lady with glasses.

"This is Ms. Julian, she's my personal assistant and secretary."

"Oh Hello" Candace says with a small smile.

"Hello Ms. Flynn I've heard great things about you"

Candace raises an eyebrow. "Really?"

"Ehem i think we should focus on the briefing." Jeremy says clearing his throat.

"Oh yes Of course sir" Julian says scrambling to the seat across to the right of Candace.

"So as you both know our firm handles various cases of all calibers including civil, domestic and criminal cases. Our client today is Mr. Scott is a small town dentist who is suing his ex wife Ms. Evans for custody of his 9 year old daughter."

Candace nods, making note in her notebook. A domestics case she loves these types of cases mostly because she is a parent herself and wants to give kids the best homes and environment possible.

"Mr. Scott will be here in about 10 minutes. When he gets here we will listen to his statement and go over options for a solid argument."

Candace is at the grocery store picking out some last minute things for Amanda's birthday party Phineas and ferb insisted they take care of it but Amanda is Candace's daughter and she wants to contribute. She is going to make the cake so she gatherers the ingredients and threw them into her cart. She is about to grab some oil when a little boy runs into her leg. He falls on his butt with a small oof. He can't be more than 5 years old. He has dirty blonde hair and blue eyes little freckles littered his nose.

"Oh my gosh are you okay sweetie?" She asks turning to help the little boy up.

He nods silently staring up at her.

"Where's your-" she looks around and frowns.

"Are you alone?" The little boy shakes his head no.

"Xavier what did I say about running away from me-"

Candace's head snaps towards the voice and she gasp when she sees who has turned the corner.

"Oh! Ms. Flynn I'm-im so sorry"

Candace shakes her head.

"No no it's okay is this your son?"

She asks referring to the little boy who is now hiding behind Mr. Johnsons leg.

"Oh um yeah this is Xavier, he's a little shy sometimes say hi X" He says and the boy shyly waves at her.

"He's adorable" She smiles gushing at the little boy who peaks at her from behind Mr. Johnson's leg.

"What do we say Xavier?" He asks the little boy in a sweet voice that Candace has never heard before.

A tiny "thank you" emerges from the little boy and Candaces smiles brightness. He is a dad? A hot dad why does this man just keep getting better?! He is dressed casually as well which she has never seen before. He has a blue polo and tan cargo pants. He has a tattoo on his left upper arm that peaks out from his shirt.

"What brings you here?" He asks her and she is brought back to reality.

"Oh! Um it's my daughter's birthday tommorow so I'm just getting some ingredients for her cake."

He raises an eyebrow.

"You have a daughter? How old is she?"

"Yes she's turning 7 her name is Amanda"

"Wow-I mean you don't look like you've had a child-not that you wouldn't look good if you did-not that I'm looking but I mean Ofcourse I've looked but-um er I'm gonna stop talking now"

Candace giggled at his rambling.

"Well thank you..I think"

He just smiles.

"Well she's having a birthday party tomorrow at my parents house You guys should stop by I'm sure it'll be fun"

Mr Johnson looked surprised but nodded.

"Um Sure sounds great right X?"

The boy nods.

"Great I'll text you the address. Um so I probably need your number.."

this was so awkward.

"Ah yes. He says fumbling to get his phone from his pocket. Once they exchanged numbers he smiles at her and says goodbye walking away murmuring something to Xavier.

May 15th (Amanda's 7th birthday) 8am

"Happy birthday sweetie"

Candace says, waking Amanda from her sleep with a stack of pancakes with 7 candles in them. Amanda wipes the sleep from her eyes and grinned at her mother.

"Thanks mom"

"Make a wish"

Amanda closes her eyes and blows out the 7 candles.

"It's blueberry and peanut butter pancakes, your favorite."

Amanda beams as she takes her first bite.

"ThuncsMum"

She tries saying with her mouth full.

"Alright finish up then start getting ready to go to grandma and grandpas."

"Okay!!"

She says excitedly faster swallowing.

"Are uncle Phineas and Ferb gonna be there?"

Candace smiles.

"Of course they are sweetly and aunt Isabella and aunt Stacy and all of your friends."

Amanda smiled brightly before letting out a YAY!

Candace chuckles as she leaves the room. She is putting the finishing touches on the 3 tier birthday cake when her phone vibrates. She picks it up and sees it was a text from Mr. Johnson who saved his name as Jeremy with a smiley face emoji. She smiles at this before reading the text.

"What time does the party start and what does Amanda like? Xavier wants to pick out a gift for her"

"Awe that's very sweet of him. She loves ducky mono, Pony's and the color purple. Also the party starts at noon."

She sends the text and smiles resuming her ministrations on the red velvet cake. She has learned a thing or two about baking coming from her mom and she quite enjoyed it these days. After she finished decorating the cake it is time for her to get ready. She was just gonna wear something simple but now since Jeremy aka Mr. Johnson will be there She feels like she should make a better impression you know for professional reasons yeah. She looks through her walk in closet trying on outfit after outfit but nothing looks right. It's a child's birthday party Candace don't over think it she thinks to herself. She could call Stacy and ask for advice. She had called her a few days ago to rant about her new work situation and curse her for taking her to that club but Stacy stuck by her decision and said she deserved to let loose for once and it was kindve sexy that he ended up being her boss..classsic Stacy. Not that she disagreed Ofcourse.

She settled on a cute red and white sundress that flowed just below her knees. And some ruby red heels that was classy but also comfortable enough to run after kids all day. She put her long red hair into a side braid and put on light makeup. Just simple eyeliner, maskara and lipstick. She gave herself a once over and nodded.

"Mom!"

She jumps when she hears Amanda call her and goes to her room only to find Amanda surrounded by clothes thrown on the floor and bed. She seemed to have settle on a baby blue dress with her favorite purple and black polka dot leggings.

"Should I wear this headband or that one?" She asked Candace referring to a sparkly pink one or a black one with a purple bow.

"Definitely the bow It goes with your outfit"

Amanda nods in agreement tossing the other one aside. Candace braided her hair into a long braid and secured the end with a rubber band.

"How do I look?" She asks dramatically with her hands on her hips.

Candace laughed at her cuteness.

"You look amazing hun now put on your shoes it's almost time to go but first I want to give you your first present. Amanda's eyes lit up and she jumps up and down.

"What is it??" Candace smiles and goes to grab her gift. She brings it back to the room in a big gift bag. Amanda wastes no time ripping out the tissue paper and pulls out a rolled up pink sleeping bag.

"Oh my gosh! Does this mean?"

Candace nods.

"Yes you're finally old enough. We're going camping!"

Amanda screams and runs around the room excitedly causing Candace to chuckle. She gives Candace a big hug around her waist and Candace hugs her back.

"Okay okay put on your shoes"
