At the cave entrance, Pyrrha rushes out right before the monster crashes through the hole, roaring and waving its grass-encrusted claws as Jaune hangs from the stinger, calling from help and continuing to scream.

"It's not a relic! It's not a relic at all!" Jaune screams.

Pyrrha tries to stay calm, and tries to make him calm. "Jaune! Whatever you do, don't-" Then Jaune gets flung out. "... Let go..." She slowly turns around to see the overwhelming force of the Scorpion Grimm before her.

Meanwhile in the sky, "WEISS! STOP WORRYING!" Ruby screams as she hangs on to the large bird with the wind almost overwhelming them.

"I AM SO FAR BEYOND WORRYING!" Weiss was scared out of her mind but also angry at the red hooded huntress.

Ruby wasn't sure of what she meant. "IN A GOOD WAY?"

"IN A BAD WAY! IN A VERY BAD WAY!" Weiss replied in an angry manner.

Ruby begins to get mad too, "WELL, WHY DON'T WE JUST JUMP?!"

"WHAT ARE YOU?! INSANE?!" There was no answer, as she already left. "OH YOU LITTLE INSUFFERABLE RED-!"

Blake is still staring at something above them, but Yang is focused on the forest.

"Blake, did you hear that?" Yang asks, "What should we do?"

Finally, the faint-but-growing-louder scream of "Heads uuuuuuuup!" is heard when Ruby falls from the sky and crash lands to the ground.

Ruby felt all kinds of pain and nausea. But after shaking herself back to shape, she realizes she landed on a tree with someone else. "Uh… Hi Ruby..." She did wonder what hit her while she was falling.

Blake spoke up to Yang. "Did your sister just fall from the sky?"

Yang wasn't able to process this. "I..."

Just then they hear a roar as a large bear like Grimm showed up, but then it quickly gets on its knees and falls down dead with someone falling over, riding it for a bit. This reveals to be Nora. "Aw, I broke it..." She said in a sad tone.

Just then someone was chasing them and the young man was out of breath. "...Nora… Never do that again..."

Blake spoke up again. "Did that girl just ride an Ursa?" She said as Nora zipped to get herself a golden chess piece of rook.

Again, Yang was speechless. "I..."

She is interrupted once more as a screech is heard from their right, and Pyrrha Nikos comes onto the scene as the scorpion creature uproots entire trees in its chase after her. Pyrrha narrowly dodges its giant claws and keeps on running.

"Jaune!" She shouts out.

He would hear her. "Pyrrha!"

"Jaune?" Ruby then rolls out of the tree and lands down to reach her sister.

"Ruby!" Yang was happy to see her again.

"Yang!" Ruby was also happy to see her older sister.

But just as they were about to embrace, someone jumps in. "Nora!" Shocking the siblings.

The scorpion Grimm continues to follow Pyrrha as she runs.

Blake continues. "Did that girl just run all the way here with a Deathstalker chasing her?"

Yang doesn't bother trying to process it and just shouts in rage. "THAT'S ENOUGH!" Her hair bursts into flames. "Can everyone just chill out for two seconds before something else crazy happens?!"

Two seconds after chilling, something else happens. "Um… Yang?" Ruby points to the sky to show the same bird she was hanging onto flying by, with Weiss still hanging on.

"How could you leave me?!"

Ruby shrugs. "I told her to jump."

Blake notices something as she watches. "She's gonna fall."

"She's gonna be fine." Ruby replied.

"She's falling." Ren being the bearer of bad news.

Jaune frees himself from the branches, panting until he looks up and grins at the sight of Weiss falling through the air, but he sees Aiden coming through, and catches Weiss bridal style, before sliding forward on his feet. He stands straight after, as Weiss tries to recover from the fall. She looks at Aiden with an embarrassed look, while Aiden seems unamused, and just drops her on the ground, before joining Ruby and the others.

Weiss was baffled, but quickly got up and dusted herself off. "My hero..." She said in an annoyed tone.

Jaune would try to slide in, but then trips and falls on his back. "... My back..."

Just in front of Yang, Pyrrha gets flung to the ground hard. "Great, everyone is here. Now we can all die together." She said sarcastically.

Ruby smirks. "Not if I can help it." She was confident in her abilities and went at top speed to strike the giant scorpion.

"Ruby! Wait!" Yang shouts.

Ruby, still screaming, fires Crescent Rose and charges at the oncoming Death Stalker. When the two meet, the Grimm swipes Ruby away and she is knocked back, as Aiden follows up and gives strikes of his own, before looking at Ruby, "You ok, Ruby!?" Aiden says as he dodges a strike from the beast.

"I'm… Fine..." Still stunned from the Death Stalker. Just then, they see the huge deathly crow coming their way.

Yang rushes to her sister's side, but still too far. "Ruby! Hang on!"

Aiden, seeing the commotion, quickly turns and aims his sword, then through a barrel that's built into the back, shoots a beam of electric dust at where the bird was, before he was hit aside by the Grimm he was fighting, and he crashed into a tree. The bird squealed and squirmed from the blast, as the blast had scorched its side, and Ruby was dropped.

Yang rushes to her sister. "Ruby! Are you okay?!"

"Y-Yeah… I'm fine." She was relieved to be saved, but is a bit embarrassed with the constantly hugging sister.

Aiden slowly gets up, but feels a pang in his head, a dark voice in his head tells him to lash out, to embrace it, as Aiden's eyes flickered purple. As Pyrrha observed, Aiden's aura seemed to flicker from light to dark, until Aiden shook his head and silently said "no", making his aura go to normal, before getting up and resuming a battle stance, but he stopped when he noticed a white blur... It was Weiss, and she was also fighting the scorpion.

After making a few attacks, she slid back after the beast knocked her back. Weiss looks to see the defenseless Ruby with Yang holding her. She looks to see a baffled Ruby. "If you're confident in your words. Then prove yourself."

Ruby felt a little embarrassed being saved and Weiss seemingly scolding her again, even if she is a little less mean about it. "I just… Want to let you know that I can do this."

The heiress can tell her emotions and instead of beating her while she is down like she usually would, she decides to go easy on her for once. "You're fine…"

She walks off as Yang quickly hugs her little sister. Ruby was silent for a bit, while Yang was still hugging her. Then for a moment, Ruby smiled. She was in the right direction in making friends with Weiss despite their differences. As Yang helps Ruby up back on her feet they walk back to the others. But during this, Ruby sighs to herself. "Normal knees…"

Everyone gathers together and notices the two Grimms are becoming a huge problem. They know that through teamwork they can get through this. First they make a run for it. The Grimm catches up to them at a huge cliff that is on their way. But that's the least of their problems as the two giants go on the attack.

Ren notices the beasts coming their way. "Nora! Distract them!"

Nora nods. "I'm on it!" A little bit of fear but also excitement as she starts blasting them with her grenade launcher.

"I'll help!" Aiden rushes in to help Nora.

As they were going through with their plan though, Ruby would notice a cloaked figure atop a rock that towered them. The figure would raise a hand, as the grimm recoiled in pain, as dark tendrils from the figure erupted and connected with the grimm, "RUBY ROSE! NOW YOU SHALL MEET THE SAME FATE YOUR MOTHER HAD, SO LONG AGO!" The monsters twitched, as their body began to slowly change, the bird becoming more abominable, having a twisted, skeletal appearance, with feathers replaced by shadowy tendrils. Its wings are now leathery and spiked, and its beak drips with an unnatural darkness, while the Deathstalker had a chitinous exoskeleton infused with dark energy, and its tail has transformed into a spiked weapon. Glowing purple markings covered its body, as a dark substance seemed to leak from its mouth.

Pyrrha sees the figure, recognizing it. "This… Monster… I saw it… Back at the caves…" Aiden clenched his teeth.

"VESSEL!" The figure states, "WE SHALL MEET AGAIN VERY SOON!" He laughs as he disappears. The monsters charge at the group.

Ruby was in disarray, hearing about her mother. As she whimpers on, Weiss shoves Ruby out of the way to save her from an incoming Nevermore's acidic attack. "Focus! I can't save you all the time!"

Aiden, with pure anger, lunges at the Death Stalker, as he gives blow after blow, dodging a weaving. He'd cut one of the pincer parts off that tried to strike him, but the corrupted Nevermore forced him back.

Jaune assembles Pyrrha, Ren, and Nora to handle the Death Stalker while Aiden is going through the struggle. "We need to move!" The four begin fighting the wounded scorpion and give it everything they got.

Pyrrha throws her spear with all her might and goes through its eye, causing it to screech.

The scarlet haired one hears Jaune orders Nora. "Nora, nail it!"

"Heads up!" Nora jumps on Pyrrha's shield, and she would then shoot Nora way high up, as the ginger laughs while being sky high and then rolls down and through her momentum, smashes the monsters head through the ground they stand on, and boosts everyone off of the stone bridge they stood on and safely to the grassy ground, leaving the scorpion to fall to the abyss. Jaune falls on his face, Nora on her butt, and Pyrrha and Ren on their feet. The two turn around to see the giant crow is fighting Team RWBY as they start shooting their guns.

Blake warns Yang. "It's tougher than it looks."

"Then we give it everything we got!" Yang clocks her gauntlets, ready for action.

The corrupted Nevermore ferociously attacks, attempting to spew its vomit to melt the huntresses, the Nevermore would then screech as it was shot at by the combined efforts of Team RWBY, Yang would spot Ruby and Blake on broken columns, meanwhile Weiss was rushing into the battle. Yang passes Weiss while the nevermore flies back up to try to shoot a flurry of its tendrils, but Weiss hops over to the ruin it's lifting off, freezing the tip of its tail to the ground, while also freezing its beak to ensure to doesn't try to spew its acid. It flailed around aimlessly, desperately trying to escape from the icy trap. Weiss back-flips into a snowflake-circle jump and lands on the other side, running to the group. Blake fires the pistol portion of Gambol Shroud over to Yang, and the two tighten it between the columns so Ruby can jump on the center with Crescent Rose and bend it back into Weiss' black sigil, right next to the caster.

"Of course you would come up with this plan." Weiss sarcastically says.

Ruby is totally focused and ready to do it. But it doesn't help to ask. "Can you make the shot?"

Weiss smirks with confidence. "Can I?" She is sure.

Ruby isn't exactly sure of the phrase. "Can y-"

"Of course I can!" With that cleared up, Ruby readies herself and gets flung to the large Nevermore. In top speed, she hits the bird's neck with her scythe. Weiss then adds more glyphs upward through the hill. Enhancing Ruby's speed and she rushes upward with the giant still being hung by her weapon. With a roar, Ruby reaches upward and then with everything she has, slices its head off.

The beast makes a gurgling sound, before, unexpectedly to Ruby, dark tendrils come out where its head was, and had grabbed Ruby's leg, but Aiden, wanting to finish the job before it goes out of hand, comes in quickly, switching the dust that's in the chamber of his sword, and, with a yell, slices the tendril and freeing Ruby, then impales the abominable bird at the heart and sliced it in half, with the blade of his sword being coated in fire. The creature burned to a crisp, finally dying after a few moments, as Aiden panted heavily, as he had to go really fast in order to keep Ruby safe. The body of the grimm melted into black goo, and was still smoking from the fire.

Ruby was in shock, while the rest of the team was also as shocked with what happened.

Aiden pants, "Fucks sake..." He says as he straightens his back. "Yall ok?" He asks

Ruby nods still in shock. "Uh-huh..."

"Great... Ugh, I'm beat."

Later on, they are all back at Beacon at Beacon, as the ceremony for making teams takes place, "Russel Thrush. Cardin Winchester. Dove Bronzewing. Sky Lark." Ozpin begins, with the screens of the auditorium showing their profiles, with the audience applauding. Ozpin continues once they line up, "The four of you retrieved the black bishop pieces. From this day forward, you will work together as Team CRDL, led by... Cardin Winchester!"

Then walks in Jaune Arc, Lie Ren, Pyrrha Nikos, and Nora Valkyrie. Ozpin starts their initiation. "From this day forward, you will work together as Team JNPR." This gets Nora to hug Ren by surprise. "Led by Jaune Arc."

"Huh?!" Jaune gets him confused while Pyrrha is happy for him.

Next is Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang. Ozpin continues. "The four of you retrieved the white knight pieces. From this day forward, you will be known as Team RWBY. Lead by… Ruby Rose." This has both Ruby and Weiss shocked by the results. Before the newly announced leader could say anything, her golden-haired sister gives her a massive hug in excitement as Ruby just smiles for her support. "Things are shaping up to be an interesting year..."

We then cut to Ruby walking with her team, as she realized Aiden's name wasn't called.

Ruby looks around to find him. "Where's Aiden?"

Yang also notices his absence. "Uuuuuuuh maybe he's in a super secret team?" She shrugs, hoping the others would buy it, but she was wrong with their skeptical glares.

Ruby was worried, since she cares for his well being, but he also helped her through her first day. Something she was very grateful for.

Later on after the ceremony was done, in the office of Ozpin, Aiden leans on a wall in the room, "Guess since I'm not on a team, you want me to leave?" He asks

"No. Your abilities are far too valuable to be sent away. Things have been hectic lately, and you've more than showed your worth. You'll just have to stick around without a team for a while until we can find some suitable partners for you." He sips his coffee.

"I see... May I ask to stick close to RWBY for now then? I'd like to be around my best friend Ruby, you see... And I really want to help her get settled here... I could be considered a backup for them, and won't participate in any major events, unless told I could if one of them is down." Aiden offered.

"Of course. Whatever makes you feel comfortable." He calmly replies.

He nods then smiles, "Very well…" He then grows serious, "Oh, and uh, one last question... I believe you are aware of the mysterious figure that was terrorizing students, transforming grimm into monstrosities?"

"Yes. I've seen." He sounded serious.

"I trust you will have a plan then... That individual that attacked seemed very dangerous... Perhaps working with the one named "Salem", as Olmotack has said. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for you on my end."

He leans closer to make himself more clearer. "I have no info on the assailant, but I do know if he is associated with her, we will meet him again. If he does, do not hesitate to get involved, and learn as much as you can."

"Very well, sir... Thank you for your hospitality and time. I pray that you have a very good night. Tell Olmotack I said hi, and that he better greet me at some point." Aiden says, adjusting his tie, as he leaves.

"I will." Ozpin said with a smile as the raven haired boy left. Both Aiden and Olmotack knew each other from long ago, the headmaster knew. Apparently, Olmotack had given the young boy to a man, as they seemed stranded… From what Ozpin heard from Olmotack, he left Aiden to train on his own, as they had multiple run-ins with grimm- and one day he met Olmotack, soon raising him as his own… So much potential, Ozpin had seen. And he could tell Aiden had the same potential. What intrigued him more though was the abilities Olmotack displayed… He would turn his seat to face the window. He had wondered about the capabilities Aiden had, as he sensed something within Aiden… Something opposite than what Olmotack seemed to have. This year may prove to be interesting, Ozpin thought. Olmotack, though, is off on a task Ozpin assigned for him: Investigating the rise of these new grimm types. Ozpin was already aware of these darker grimm, and all he had to say was… "What are you doing, Salem?"

A day passed by, And Weiss had a very pleasant sleep actually resting in the bed. But it would end once Ruby wakes her up with a whistle, startling her until she falls off of her bed. "Good morning Team RWBY!"

"What is wrong with you?!"

Ignoring her question, she goes on. "Now that you're awake, we can finally begin the first order of business!"

"Excuse me?!"

Yang and Blake pops up with supplies on her arms. "Decorating!"

"What?!" Weiss lets out.

"We still haven't unpacked." Blake shows off her briefcase. Only for it to open and all her stuff falls on the ground. "And clean..." Weiss already knows she is going to hate this.

Soon there was a knock on the door, and Ruby, a bit down she seemingly lost a friend, opens the door, only to drop her jaw, "Yo." Aiden says with one eye closed, with a grin etched on his face, and a friendly wave.

Ruby gasps in shock while everyone is caught off guard. "Aiden?! What are you doing here?!"

"I thought you were kicked out!" Yang said.

"Nah, Ozpin just put me on hold for now, says he's gonna get me a team sooner or later. I get my own room and everything for now. But another thing Ozpin agreed to, is I can stay close with y'all for the time being. Granite, I won't be able to participate in major events, less one of yall go down." Aiden states, as he was suddenly hugged by Ruby, and she was squeezing tight "Oomph!"

Blake tilts her head. "You don't have a team, yet they have you around?"

Weiss is even more confused. "And you're watching us? What is your goal?"

"I wouldn't say 'watching' more like I'll be doing things with you until Ozpin can pair me. So basically, you sorta have a 5th member." Aiden says as he looks down to Ruby, who is still hugging him, "Ok Ruby... You can let go now... I... Can't breathe..." He says as he struggles to breath, making Ruby stand back a bit after she lets him go.

Ruby was now giddy. "This is getting better and better! Alright guys! Lets begin our first mission together! Banzai!" Blake and Yang join in. Weiss sighs.

Ruby, Blake, and Yang all say "Banzai!", and they turn to Weiss and Aiden; Aiden giving a weak "Banzai".

Yang places a poster of six guys in various poses named "THE ACHIEVE MEN '' on her part of the room. Weiss positions the painting of the Forever Fall forest to perfection and walks away. Blake is busy putting away her books on the shelves, with Aiden assisting her and admiring her titles, and he picks up a copy of Ninjas of Love, and before Aiden could read the title, Blake, widening her eyes, snatches the book from his hand before putting it back, making Aiden raise a brow, but he just shrugged it off, as he kept helping Blake. But from then on, Blake would privately eye Aiden occasionally, but would continue her task. Ruby positions Crescent Rose at an exact angle against the curtains so she can perfectly slash a diagonal portion off. A quick zoom around the room (and the repaired curtains) ends with the girls, and Aiden, to admire their handiwork... With one problem. The beds are crammed together in the center of the floor.

"Geez louise... Well that's a problem." Aiden says, pointing at the beds.

Weiss sarcastically replies. "You think?"

Yang then asks. "Maybe we should ditch some of our stuff."

"Or… Maybe-" Aiden began, but Ruby would then interrupt.

"We can ditch the beds for bunk beds!" Ruby would excitedly exclaim

Aiden, crushed that his idea was stolen, sinks his shoulders down

Weiss was skeptical once again. "That sounds dangerous."

"And awesome!" Yang speaks up.

Weiss shakes her head in annoyance. "Okay let's take a vote on this!" Everyone says yah, while she's the only nay, Weiss grunting.

After some work, one bunk is being held together by some stacked beds, while the other is being hung by ropes and a sheet. "Objective complete!" Ruby said with confidence. "Alright, the second order of business is… Classes." She then brings out some books. "Now we have some classes together today. At 9:00 we've gotta-"

"What?! Did you say Nine-o-Clock?!"

"Um..." Ruby wasn't sure why she was making a big deal about it.

Weiss promptly explains. "It's 8:55 you dunce!" She then sprints out.

Everyone watches her rush out. Ruby following. "Um t-to class!"

Aiden speedily follows suit, with Juan confused for a moment, "Class...?" He said, before Jaune loses his balance and ends up toppling Nora Valkyrie, Pyrrha Nikos, and Lie Ren on top of him. He manages to get out from under them and starts dashing, "We're gonna be late!" He exclaimed in fear. In the courtyard, Professor Ozpin and Glynda Goodwitch watch the two teams hurry through the school. Glynda looks at her watch, and Ozpin simply sips his drink.

The students make it to class as they get a lecture from one of the teachers who explains their purpose of training to be huntsmen and huntresses. Not everyone is enthused with this save for one random student. It was once he tells his story when Weiss tries to focus on him, until Ruby begins to distract her with many goofy shenanigans such as playing with books, showing drawings, making fun of teacher Peter Port, and just picking her nose. "The moral of the story? A true huntsmen must be honorable. A true huntsmen must be dependable. A true huntsmen must be strategic, well educated, and wise. So who among you believe themselves to embody these traits?"

Almost on the verge of blowing up in rage, Weiss raises her hand. "I do sir!"

The jolly Port nods. "Well, let's find out." He then reveals a cage with a live Grimm snarling. "Step forward and face your opponent."

We see Weiss Schnee, now back in her regular attire, readying her Myrtenaster at the growling creature in the cage. The other members of RWBY cheers her on from their seats in the front row, while Aiden just gives a weak thumbs up, still not too enthused about Weiss being around his best friend, but still somewhat supportive. Aiden though would notice Blake waving a "Team RWBY flag", and would ask her, "How in the world did you get that?" He said, poiting.

This and Ruby's constant cheering would have Weiss lose focus to the point where she loses her weapon. In a panic, she rushes in and grabs it, as the Grimm warthog rushes to her. "Its belly is not armored We-!"

"Don't tell me what to do!" Weiss explodes in anger, silencing Ruby.

The hog would then spin around and dash towards Weiss full speed. Now focusing, she uses a Glyph to stop it on its track and falls on its back. Then flips back on another Glyph and then ricochets her blade to its belly, killing it. She was out of breath.

Aiden raises a brow, he is impressed. But he stayed silent.

After the class is done, Weiss storms off in anger. Jaune notices this. "Geez, what's with her?"

Her team looks at each other, wondering about themselves. Ruby acts fast to follow her.

Ruby catches up to Weiss. "Weiss!"

She stops and turns to her leader. "What?!"

"What's wrong with you?! Why are you be-"

"What's wrong with me?! What's wrong with you! You're supposed to be a leader, and all you have been is a nuisance!"

Ruby scoffs. "What did I do?!"

"That's just it! You did nothing to earn your position! Back at the forest you did nothing but act like a child! And you only continued to do so!"

Ruby begins to feel hurt from this criticism. But tries to understand her. "Weiss, where is this coming from? I-I thought you believed in acting like a team and-"

"Not a team led by you." Weiss coldly said. "I studied, and trained, and quite frankly, deserve better...Ozpin made a mistake." She turns her back to Ruby and leaves.

Ruby would sadly turn to walk away, until she bumped into the same headmaster Weiss mentioned. "Hm. Now that didn't seem to go very well."

The young girl had but one thing to ask once he was now here. "Is she right? Did you make a mistake?" She was desperate for an answer, even though she knows it's not an answer she'll like.

Ozpin remains calm and matter of fact. "That remains to be seen." Ruby didn't know what to think of that answer.

Weiss walks to meet the same teacher from class today. "Professor Port!"

"Ah! Miss Schnee! And what do I owe this fine pleasure?"

The royal heiress wants to make sure they are on good terms so mentions first, "I-I enjoyed your lecture!"

Port replies. "Of course you did. You have blood of a true Huntsmen after all."

"You really think so?!" Weiss said with hope in her tone.

"Most surely!" Port says with sincerity. But he notices something in Weiss's eyes as she wonders that. "Hm. Something's troubling you."

Weiss admits this. "Yes sir."

"Dear girl, confess to me your strife!" He dramatically replies.

Weiss would then let it out, without forcing it. "Well… I-I think I should have been the leader of Team RWBY!"

Port stood there in a pause, until he would reply.

"That's preposterous."

Back with Ruby, she gets the courage to reply to her headmaster. "What do you mean?"

"I mean it's only been one day. Ruby. I made more mistakes than any man, woman, and child on this planet. But at this moment I would not consider your appointment to leader to be one of them." He then leans closer to her. "Do you?"

Weiss would be offended by that blunt answer. "Excuse me?!"

"I followed Professor Ozpin for many years! And the man never led me astray!"

The respect she had for him is gone and her tone shifted to anger again. "So you would just blindly accept his decision even after seeing how exceptional I am?"

"With all due respect, your exceptional skill on the battlefield is matched by your poor attitude."

"How dare you!"

"My point exactly." Port shows no wavering in his words. "I see a girl before me who has spent her entire life getting exactly what she wanted."

Weiss crosses her arms. "That's not remotely true!" Port raises his brow. For a few moments, Weiss thought about it. "Well...not entirely true..."

Ozpin continues. "Being a team leader isn't just a title you carry into battle. But a badge you wear constantly. If you are not always performing at your absolute best, then what reason do you give others to follow you?" Ruby thinks on his words and smiles happily.

Port continues. "So the outcome did not fall in your favor. Do you really believe that acting in such a manner would cause those in power to reconsider their decision? So instead of fretting on what you don't have, and savor what you do. Hone your skills, perfect every technique, and be not the best leader, but the best person you can be." Weiss would take his knowledge and faintly smile.

As both professors leave their students, Ruby notices Weiss alone in deep thought. Deep down, she now knows there is hope for them thanks to their teachers giving them the advice they needed.

Later at night, the full moon shines over the green lights of Beacon, and in the room of Team RWBY, the door opens and Weiss' shadow is seen against the hall's light. Blake is sleeping under the covers, Yang is spread out on her bed and snoring, and when Weiss lifts the blanket of Ruby's tent, she finds the occupant with her head resting on notes, a pencil in her hand, and open books all around her. Weiss, looking amazed at Ruby's determination, clears her throat and gently shakes the other girl awake, who takes a second to regain consciousness and start flailing in surprise.

"Weiss! I was studying I swe-" She covers her mouth before she wakes everyone up.

It takes awhile for her to say it until she notices she has a mug on her bed. "How do you take your coffee?"

"Uh… I don't..."

Weiss won't take no for an answer. "Answer the question."

"Cream! Five sugars!" Weiss would move fast and quickly give her exactly that. "Th-Thanks Weiss..."

She faintly smiles, then back to serious. "Ruby. I think you have what it takes to be a good leader. Just know that I am going to be the best teammate you'll ever have." Ruby smiled at her kindness. Weiss then leaves. But then there was something in her mind. "Ruby?"

"Uh-huh?" Ruby wonders what else she can say.

There was hesitation, but she let it out. "I always wanted bunk beds as a kid..." As she leaves, Ruby feels much more closer to Weiss.

As Weiss left the room, she yelped a bit, as Aiden was standing right there by their room in the hall, his arms crossed, and leaning against the wall, "Well... I'm impressed." Aiden said. "Perhaps... I misjudged you..."

She didn't know what to think about that. "Um… Thank you?" She slowly walks away until she feels safe to walk off and out of Aiden's range.

"Those beasts we fought... The one that grabbed Ruby's leg... You know that it wasn't natural, right?" Aiden asks Weiss as she was leaving.

She stops and walks back. "What?" She vaguely remembers that. "What do you mean by that? I assumed it was some strange new ability that Grimm had!"

He shakes his head, "No... Something more dangerous, more sinister is going on that I can't talk about right now... That's why I want you to promise me one thing." He gets ominously close to Weiss, and grabs her by the nape of her collar, "Promise me you will protect Ruby. She is the first friend I ever had, and is like the little sister that I never had... So promise me you will keep her safe with your life, no matter what." He says with a serious expression, as a tear starts to roll down his cheek, as he seemed to slightly lose his cool mask.

Despite the simple request in mind, she feels the weight of it. But then swipes the collar off of his hand. "What are you, dense?" There was an uncomfortable silence, until she spoke up. "Of course I will!" She assures him as she walks off.

He seems shocked at first, but shakes it off, as he rubs his head, turning away. As she leaves, she hears him mumble to himself, "See? She'll be fine... She's safe... He can't get her..." He says as he walks off. His reaction made Weiss wonder about the history between Ruby and Aiden, and also wondered about what he meant by "he" in the last part…. Leading to her wondering what is going to happen now.

All of this has given her a lot of questions to ponder over. She just continues to walk off.
