Meanwhile, Salem is approaching a room where Nightmaratack resides, and is stopped by Roman and Neo, as Salem could hear that Nightmaratack was throwing things around and yelling in the room, as he was angered that his plans were ruined.
"Best to let him cool down, maybe." Roman said.
Salem would walk in while he goes through his tantrum. "Your plan seemed to have failed."
"It was that... THAT MAN!" He said blasting a chair away, "HE RUINED EVERYTHING! CINDER, SHE RUINED EVERYTHING! IF SHE HAD KILLED HIM... GRRAAAAH" Objects in the room began to crush under the weight of his fury, and he sighed and breathed heavy. "No... No it's not over..." He said, looking up at Salem, "I still have some cards left over..." He'd laugh sadistically, "Yes... Yes, that's right! I still have my backup plan! How could I be so blind!" He says, "Cinder- YES CINDER! Yes, we have her corpse..." He'd start shuffling through papers and books, leaving Salem to wonder what he's up to, "Yes! Yes I can bring her back! Then- yes! Olmotack still remains under... Yes!" He says, talking to himself, as he is salvaging what he can.
"Prepared, I see." She doesn't seem heartbroken with her death, as long as she was useful. "She must keep the Maiden powers though. No doubt it would have left her body upon death."
"No... No she only died recently, perhaps I can salvage it, yes! And instill her with... AHA!" He pulls out a sheet of paper, and would point to Salem, "Get Roman and Neo to put her corpse atop a pedestal, this ritual must be perfect for this to work!" Nightmaratack said, as he gathered a few things, using dark magic to put back the items he scattered.
She is interested in this. So she does so. Although once Roman and Neo came back with it, they show no pleasure in this. "Man… Not what I had in mind today.. Ugh..." Clearly grossed out with the dead body.
Nightmaratack would then enter, and would begin scrawling things on the floor around the pedestal and inscribed runes onto the sides of the pedestal, "My power is not complete unless I am whole... So... I will have to rely on other forms of magics to sustain my form after I complete this." Once he finishes his work, he turns to them, "I recommend you step away, unless you wish to be dragged to the depths of hell before death." He'd exclaim.
"This oughta be good." Roman backs up and crosses his arms to see whatever he is about to do, with Neo also watching as well.
As Nightmaratack gets into position, he raises his arms and starts chanting. As he does, nothing seems to happen at first, making Roman almost laugh, but he would then be silenced as the earth around them started to tremble and quake, the earth opening under the pedestal, as the pedestal seemed to be keeping itself above the tear, and they could feel negative energy pulsating from it. Roman and Neo fell to the floor, as dark thoughts and whispers enveloped their minds, feeling their sanity slowly etch away. Salem would see this, and would look back at Nightmaratack, whom was still chanting, and Cinder's body shook violently. Salem then peeked into the tear, and saw a glimpse of the fire and suffering below. The ghastly sight scared her, and she looked away. Before long, the hole that was below the pedestal closed, and the earth stood still, and the smell of sulfur and fire hung in the air. Nightmaratack would collapse onto his hands and knees, as his form was slowly melting. Cinder would be still for some time, as black veins came out from her eyes, and spread across her body, as she suddenly gasped air, alive once more… But she felt… Different. Barely any of the fall maiden was left, but she could feel another power within her, festering silently. But she would ignore it. The last she remembered, was that man, the one who killed her…
Nightmaratack was still on the ground, as his skin was dripping with black essence, "I don't have much time anymore…" He says to himself. "That ritual used most of what I had…" He said.
Roman gets up, recovering, "Well, that was something. Did it work?" He cautiously asks.
Cinder would weakly bring her hand up to inspect, looking at the changes, feeling her blood flow once more.
She would look at her hand, "What… Is this?"
"Welcome back to the land of the living." Roman said.
"I... Brought you... Back. You have lost some of the fall maiden... But you have a small piece of it left... And I instead imbued you with a demon of fire, to make up for what was lost. Do know... The more you give into that demon, the more powerful you become... But the more susceptible you are for it to take over you." Nightmaratack said, as Salem had helped him get up, and Nightmaratack went against a wall for support. Salem would then come and approach Cinder.
Cinder would be in awe of this, "So... This power… Is it mine or…? This demon?"
"What is left of your fall maiden is yours... The other piece being part of the demon. In a way, you share it… You will be much stronger than before once you harness it." The dark demon stated, still catching his breath, before continuing, "But I will say this... You have failed me once, Cinder. The only reason I brought you back is because there is still a use for you. Be grateful for my mercy." Nightmaratack said with a sinister smile, "And you will not fail again... Or you will see what is below once more."
She would be startled by this, but would angrily growl. "Of course… I will not fail again..."
"I know you won't..." He begins to make a crushing motion with his fist, and Cinder feels her heart starting to feel like it's being crushed, "Because this time, I'll make sure you go to where you were supposed to..." He said, then releasing her, leaving her gasping. "We will commence my backup plan. First, we make myself whole once more... I am too weak as of now after using so much power... Cinder, in the coming months or so while you get used to your newfound power, you will aid Roman and Neo in taking Aiden Green. Bring in the one named Aiden Green, using whatever means necessary, just bring him in alive. Am I clear?"
"Yes…" She looks very serious. She attends to never fail again.
After a few hours, as RWBY was recuperating in their room, everyone had heard of the death of Ozpin. Everyone seemed to be in a grieving mood, until Irad knocked on RWBY's door, "Uh, may I come in?" Irad had said.
Weiss would speak up. "Come in."
Irad came in, and saw all their solemn looks, "I'm… Sorry I wasn't here sooner…" He started, "Look uh… I was able to set some time aside… And uh… Well since you all are free… I could allow you all to visit my realm to see Pyrrha. She should be recovering by now... And maybe you could see Penny too." Irad offered.
Ruby jumps and stands in front of Irad, "Penny's alright?!"
"Yeah… That's why I inspected her body, remember? I believe my men should have approached her father by now…" He'd check his holographic watch, "Yeah, says here she was scheduled and booked. Mechanic was working on her a few hours ago. Status is stable."
Yang was impressed. "Wow. You're prepared for everything huh?"
Blake would be a bit cautious. "Yeah… Very prepared."
He chuckles, "When you've seen as much as I have, you know you gotta prepare for many things… In my old world, it was… Much darker…" He'd look distant for a moment, deep in thought, but he shook his head, "B-But my point is, I had to be ready for anything at that time, and I want to help people. So if I can share my resources and help people, then I will do as I must."
Ruby seems to be rather acceptable with this. "Well, it's a good thing you came."
Weiss would be a bit more solemn. "Still didn't stop Beacon's destruction..." This gets the rest of the team silent.
"Speaking of, it will take awhile to fully rebuild Beacon to its former glory… I will be meeting with your leaders to inform of my presence so no one uh… Comes to shoot my head off." He says, tugging his shirt collar and gulping. "I really don't want a repeat of that situation…" He said quietly to himself.
Blake would have something in mind while everyone seems satisfied with his words. "So… What do we do now?"
"Get your stuff together, and meet me at the fountain. I'll be waiting with a limo. And if you see big, burly armored men with black armor, a yellow visor, and a big silver cross across their chests, don't mind them. It's protocol to have some of my guards around… But I assure you they won't get in our way."
As he leaves, the team would look at each other. They could trust him, although things just went by too fast that they don't know if they could fully process this. Eventually, they would get their stuff prepped and head to the limo. Once there Weiss inspected it. It was a sleek black, with a silver lining the bottom part, and seemed to float in the air. The hood was flat with a bump in the middle, and it looked very well taken care of and sleek.
"Not bad." Weiss exclaimed, impressed, but wanting to keep her regal tone.
Yang smirked. "Let me guess… Seen better?""
The heiress merely turns away. "Hmph!"
Ruby would then get a close look at one of the guards. "Uh… Hi?" She sheepishly said with a wave.
The guards paid no heed, as they opened the door for the ladies, as they saw Irad sitting in an uninterested position, looking out the window, but his gaze would brighten at the sight of them, as they were ushered inside. The interior was white, with a silver trim. It looked very advanced in technology, "Ah, there you are." Irad would have said, before clearing his throat when they were situated on each side of him, and he would instruct the chauffeur to take them to a certain medical facility in "Central Ragadol City". As the car began driving, which was a smooth drive due to the vehicle levitating, Irad would speak up, "Now that we're all here... I suppose it's right that you may have questions, specifically about my intentions." He'd say. He'd then cross his legs, looking presentable, "I will start with this: My intentions for coming into this world is not of ill, but of pure generosity. In my realm, me, and a select team, have created a... Well, what some call it, a Utopia of sorts." He'd take a tablet, and tap a few things, before sliding up and showing a city that looked clean and bustling, "This is one of the many cities I have in my realm... You see, in my old world, it was run down by corruption, immorality, greed, lust... I thought that the world could change... But how wrong I was..." He says looking down, but then shaking his head, "But that's besides the point. I was given these powers as a gift. And I decided that, to spare other worlds of the same pain I had, I'd create a new one. Simply put: I've extracted pieces from every parallel universe I can get my hands on into one. So far, we're still a bit small... But we plan to grow over time. With the technology of other universes right at our fingertips, we've made scientific breakthroughs that only can be imagined! Imagine a world that is peaceful, a world where there is no poverty, everyone has a chance to live a righteous life. The people of the medical care actually care for you, and not see you as moneybags… The strong help the weak!"
He'd show charts, "These are our stock markets, crime rates, and housing. I, obviously, keep track of each…" He'd then realize he wasn't talking to his business people, and would sheepishly clear his throat, "But I doubt you uh, really want to see this..." He says, minimizing the charts, revealing just the city again, as Weiss seemed interested, but the other members narrowed their eyes as he was about to explain the charts so vividly. "M-My point is... Is that I wish to share with this world, and mayhaps bring it into my own realm, once the conflict is said and done. I offer peace and prosperity, sure it'd be under my rulership, but the threats of danger in this world would be little to none. Granite, yes there are still conflicts outside the realm, as there are beings like Nightmaratack that wish to... Throw the balance..."
They are a lot to think about or say. However the leader would have something to say. "Tell us how we can help?" Ruby said with conviction.
Irad would be taken aback, "Uh... I... Didn't expect you to uhm..." He'd clear his throat, and composed himself from such a shock, "All you really need to do is train and be ready to fight Nightmaratack and Salem... I will do what I can to give resources, and offer aid to your government, and your battles... If you are as understanding as you have been, perhaps they too can be convinced to join me in..." He'd shake his head, "As of now, I have some of my representatives approaching your leaders now, and doing their thing. Once they are fine with us being around, I will be deploying more soldiers and machinery to help defend... You and every student of Beacon I will request your participation in the extermination of the Dark Grimm, and the defeat of Salem and Nightmaratack. As long as Salem and Nightmaratack live, there will be conflict. So I do say, be ready... Because now... Nightmaratack isn't going to pull his punches. And we shouldn't either."
The team would gulp a bit. But they would nod in unison.
Weiss then speaks. "Well, I'm sure you have much to show us to get us prepared."
"In time, in time… With Ozpins…" He sighs sadly, "With his death… I suppose Mr. Ironwood takes over? Or am I mistaken?"
They would look at each other. Weiss in particular. "I believe so?" She doesn't have a whole grasp on the leadership going on.
Irad would just cross his arms, "Hmm..." The chauffeur would then inform that they are at the mobile teleport point, and Irad would give each of them a paper bag, "Now since this is your first time warping to another world, expect: lightheadedness, nausea, in some cases vomiting, and/or a low to severe headache or even migrain, in even rarer cases: death…" Irad states as RWBY looks amongst themselves, and then brace themselves. Once the portal opens, they go through, and they successfully come through, with Ruby, despite feeling a little lightheaded, gawking at how big this new city looks, with Irad cheerfully stating, "And, we are here-!" He is cut off by Yang vomiting into the bag, and the others reel in disgust.
Irad would also look in disgust, but would give a thumbs up soon after, "Happens, I assure you..." He states, resisting the urge to puke himself from seeing such a sight.
Ruby would sheepishly speak up. "I guess you now know how Jaune felt."
Yang groans as she wipes her mouth. "Ugh… Shit… None of you dare call me 'vomit girl'..." She semi-threatens her team.
"But Vomit-" Irad would jokingly start, but Yang would glare at Irad, and he would shut up instantly. In Irad's mind, he says, "I fear no man... But this girl... She scares me."
"U-uh... Anywho, uh, please give the bag to the attendant." The door would open, and Yang would grumpily give the bag to the attendant, and the attendant would go off to dispose of it, as Irad would go into a compartment and hand over saltines to Yang, "For the uh... Stomach." He says, as Yang snatches them and eats them.
"Anywho... Those portal devices were developed a long time ago by some of my most brilliant scientists, using the technology called 'coils'. The designs are near flawless, and it's one of, if not the biggest scientific breakthroughs of a lifetime. We're still figuring out how to fine tune it to not only traverse parallel universes, but time periods too, in case we need to go back in time in a universe or what-not, or just to collect data. We only have a select few of these devices due to, A: They are very hard to make or find, B: The resources to make them can be scarce, and C: We don't wish for people to abuse them, and use them for their own evil desires. It took a lot of time and energy to get to such a feat... You know, ever since I was a kid, I actually dreamed of going to another universe entirely, and now, here I am." Irad would state, chuckling. Weiss would be intrigued even more, as she thought the subject of traveling to different worlds seemed rather interesting, and Irad seemed passionate about it.
Weiss would look carefully at the bustling futuristic city, "This is… Unreal… I can't comprehend how any of this works… How is this even possible?"
He would smirk, "Perhaps I'll explain in more detail in private if we get a chance, Weiss." Irad would offer, "I don't believe they'd be interested in all the works anyways, and they seem busy." He says, looking at the other members of RWBY, as they were too busy looking out the window and gawking at everything they were seeing. Ruby put her face against the window, as she saw many vehicles fly in the air, kids playing with objects she's never seen, people walking, biking, or using hoverboards, many neon signs, and robots helping humans.
"Wow! It's like we're in the future!" Ruby was filled with innocent joy.
"I suppose in a way, we would be." He said, as they drove past more buildings and landmarks. Blake would then notice a huge castle in the far distance. It seemed to scrape the sky by the sheer height.
"Hm..." She takes notice of it and wonders what this castle is from.
Irad would notice Blake's look, "Ah, over there is my 'Base of operations' as I'd call it. Lovely, really…"
He'd reach into a compartment and would pull out a can of soda that had a foreign label. "Refreshment, anyone?" He'd offer.
After some awkward seconds, Weiss would take her can. "Um… Thanks."
"Oh yeah!" Yang runs in to grab one for herself. Blake and Ruby as well.
"What is… 'Dr. Pepper'?" Ruby would ask.
"Oh, just a drink brand I brought over from my old world… Was always my favorite, and I'd hate to have seen it go." Irad replied. They each took a sip.
Ruby tried it, and it tasted a bit weird. Yang seemed to like it. Blake didn't mind it, but still not her favorite. Weiss however would almost spit it out. "Ugh! Sorry I… What did they put in that stuff?!"
"Hm… It's actually not bad." Yang said, looking at the can.
He looks at a can, "Uhh caffein, artificial sweeteners, basically a drink with a lot of sugar. I recommend only drinking on special occasions… And make sure you brush, of course. Really, it's really good. It makes your nostrils flare a bit, but it's worth it… I think you all have soda in your world too, hm?"
Blake would hesitate to sip more, so she changes the topic. "Well, as much as this is pleasant, I'm curious if you really do see other universes through… Fiction." Seeing how she has shown interest in fiction through her books.
"In my old world, we did see you as fiction. Your story was told through mangas, an anime, and a 3D animation. In our view in our world, yes, you were fictional. Personally, I agreed with this, but I pondered the fact of parallel universes and timelines, and now, I can travel freely through them. Heck, even as we speak, our story is probably being told… Not like- every small detail. Morley the important parts… But to sum it down… You all have a show named RWBY. So you can say you are famous somewhere. Weiss being my personal favorite-" He'd catch himself, "Favorite as in, yknow from… Not like, yknow, in a creepy way." He'd clear his throat, as Blake would raise an eyebrow, and Yang would speak up,
"What is it about Weiss that you like?" Yang said, a bit in disbelief.
Irad would ponder a moment, before smiling, "As hard on and bossy as she can be on the outside… Inside I see a kind soul who is willing to help those she cares about. She's level headed enough to know the objectives, and pull through… I admire that about Weiss, and I admire her skills both in combat and reasoning… Even with her faults, she always surpasses and learns… Strong, intelligent, graceful, beautiful… That's what I admire about her, those are her best qualities…" He'd then carry a worried expression, "S-Sorry if that sounds strange… It's just something I've kept to myself for a long time. The rest of you are wonderful, of course… Well… Up until the main "maker" of the series died after season 2… It all went down the toilet after that…" He says in thought. "Really, you don't wanna know. Just take my word for it… Luckily this is another timeline far from that one."
Again, they are left speechless and unable to process this. Yang would lighten up the mood. "Well… I'm pretty popular though, right?"
"Oh yeah! All of you are, even JNPR! Granite, if you were somehow transported into my old realm when I was young, I'd advise not looking on the internet… Some people liked you a uh... Bit too much." Irad said, a bit uncomfortable even talking about it.
The chauffeur would speak, "Almost there to our destinations, my lord." He said, and the driver looked at the road once more.
Ruby would be interested from what this destination is. "Where are we going again?"
"To visit Pyrrha of course, then we'll visit Penny." This gets everyone's attention as they wait in anticipation. Once they pull up to the hospital, Irad would come out first, giving a hand to Weiss to be gentlemanly, which she took. The others would follow suit, and enter the building. Irad would walk up to the counter and ask the receptionist what was the room of Pyrrha Nikos, to which she would give the room number, and Irad would have them follow. They'd enter an elevator and would go up, Irad resting his cane down in front of him, standing tall and firm, and he would occasionally check his watch, as RWBY was waiting with Irad as the elevator was coming to their floor. The elevator would ding, and they'd walk through, Irad stroking his chin, before seeing the room they were looking for. He would knock on the door, and after hearing a "come in.", he open it slowly, as RWBY poured in, and saw that Pyrrha was smiling, and seeming to be ok.
"Pyrrha!" Ruby rushes in to hug her. "You're okay!"
"We were wondering where you've been!" Weiss speaks her mind.
Pyrrha would chuckle. "I'm sorry if I had you worried everyone."
Irad would step up, "I hope I was of help, Ms. Nikos... I apologize I wasn't there any sooner to assist." He said with a hint of regret, "You should be better though in a few days, with the medical equipment we have, you should be up and running quickly."
She humbly nods. "It's okay. Thank you for your help."
Irad smiles, "I'll let you all catch up... I'll call over and see which mechanic Penny is at. If you need me, you can come get me... And Weiss..." Weiss would look over, "I did mean what I said about you, back there..." He said with a grin, before turning and going out. Weiss would slightly blush, and feel a bit flustered, but would push it down, as her present concern is seeing Pyrrha.
She did make her move to her early on due to her reputation. "Pyrrha… I knew you would be alright, but..." She saw her knee that was pierced. It was covered in a gel-like substance that held the wound together, but it looked to be already healing.
"Weiss..." The red head would still smile, although she is still hiding some sorrow. "It's fine… I was out of my league."
"I mean you are the best student we know! Maybe you couldn't win but..." Weiss feels bad for Pyrrha. She had a feeling this was eating her friend up on the inside.
However she couldn't be farther from the truth. "Really, Weiss… It's okay. I'm kinda glad that I'm not the strongest..."
"Hm?" Weiss was confused. "Why wouldn't you be? I mean..." Pyrrha only smiles more which has Weiss ponder.
Ruby would gawk, "It looks like you almost weren't even hurt at all! Where's the scar?!" Ruby would ask, observing where the wound was supposed to be.
"The doctors said that my knee will be weak for a while while the microbes they put in to fix the injury repairs everything... But I should be able to walk in about a day or two." She'd follow with, "I now have feeling back in my knee, so." sighing in relief.
"Thank goodness for that." Blake said.
"You'll be back and at 'em in no time!" Yang said with a big smile.
Irad would come back in, and he'd sigh, and would seem frustrated, as he pinched his nose.
Blake would notice. "Something wrong?"
"Huh? Oh uh, so good news, Penny is operational and her memories are fully intact and functionable, bad news, she's not fully complete yet... Her father is... Being a bit hard. See, we wanted to improve her with our technology so she isn't as easily destructible... But the father has been... Well..." He sighs, "It's been hard... I may just order Penny to be returned as just her normal self."
They would show some worry. Ruby would try to be understanding. "Well if anyone knows how to fix her up, it's her dad. Right?"
Weiss would speak her mind. "They seem to be doing a good job if you ask me."
"They have, truly. We've followed the blueprints he provided, but he just didn't want us altering anything. We wouldn't alter anything that would affect the way she looks, or her mind, morley to make her more durable."
Yang would shrug. "Well… Doesn't seem like a big deal if you won't mess with those stuff then, right?" Trying to understand the situation.
He sighs, "Yes, but... Ah... I guess it's just that part of me that just wants to keep her from getting hurt..." He said, as he tampered with his watch once more.
Ruby would give him an assured look. "I'm sure it's fine. He might care for her so much."
"Yeah, you are right..." He says in defeat, finishing up, then facing his attention to the others, "Alright, are you all ready to see Penny?"
"Yes!" Ruby squeaked as the others stood up.
He'd wave at Pyrrha, whom would give a friendly wave back.
"I'll be sure to get your team here soon. Get plenty of rest, ok?" To this, the red haired maiden nods. He'd then escort RWBY back into the limo, as they would begin their travel to the mechanic. Meanwhile, back at Beacon, Aiden, not informed Blake is gone, would be looking for her. He'd go to Sun,
"Yo Sun, you see Blake anywhere?" He'd ask.
"Sorry man, no clue." He shrugs.
He looks concerned, "Really, I'm worried sick..."
Sun would notice his mood getting worse. "I- uh! I'm sure she's fine! She's gotta be fine! She can handle herself… Yeah."
He's quiet, as he'd sigh. Sun wanted to say something, but he knew that he couldn't say anything more. He also knew of the internal struggle Aiden is facing… The people have distaste for Aiden after his lash-out, and for them all to have found out Aiden has the same magic as the dark beasts… He was stepping on thin ice. Neptune, Scarlet, and Sun would back him up in the thought. Being the leader, they rely on him. So they thought he could rely on them this time around.
Sun would say, "Remember, we're here for you if you need us... I'm sure Blake will come back."
Aiden would look back and smile, before crossing his arms,
"Well… I guess we can all just hang out for awhile."
"Yeah!" The boys said in unison.
Back with RWBY and Irad, they'd stop at a building, and they'd enter. The environment was neat and clean, and many employees came and went. They'd soon be led to where Penny was, her legs were being put back onto her body, and Penny waved her right arm rapidly, as her other arm was being attached by a machine arm.
"Salutations, friends!" She said happily.
Ruby would rush in to see her face to face. "Penny! You're okay!"
Yang walks in. "You really gave us a scare." Weiss would see Irad talking to a man who seemed to be silently grilling Irad, Irad carrying a somber expression. He'd then go back to the group after the man was done.
"A penny for your thoughts?" She said softly, but trying not to sound somber herself.
Irad would turn to Weiss and smile, a tired look on his face that he tried to hide, while the man had left, seemingly satisfied. "Just... Was talking to Penny's father who didn't want us to alter anything pertaining to her body... I understood his concerns, but..." He'd sigh, "Well, he is the father, after all, so it's his wish. So right now we are just putting Penny back together, and she'll be good to go..." He looks down, "Suppose not everyone will see things in your eyes sometimes... Any who, uh... Are you wanting to join your friends in catching up with Penny? I don't wanna hold you back or anything." Irad would say.
She would tilt her head in a short shrug. "I'm alright. I just felt like checking on you."
He'd blush, "Uh... Right..." He'd say, as he'd try to keep his composure, "I'd... Like to request something from you, Ms. Schnee..." He'd gulp, and inhale, "Would you care to remain in my realm for a bit longer, and join me for dinner later? I'd like to learn more about your world in this specific timeline, and I believe you'd have many questions of your own about mine, and I would be more than happy to enlighten you." He proposes. "I-If not I'll understand." He'd say, putting his hands up defensively.
She would think on it, then shrug. "Sure. Why not?"
He would be celebrating in his mind, jumping for joy, in reality though, he would just clear his throat and act formally, "I shall look forward to it then. I shall request a room for you at the castle immediately. When your friends leave, some of my guards shall guide you..." As formal as he seemed, Weiss could tell that his heart was going a mile a minute, and would notice a slight blush. She would act cool about it, but she feels a bit nervous being around him. Acting improperly around him, she feels like she wouldn't live with herself. Deep inside, Irad would feel the same, that if he acted informal, she would turn her nose against him. As they regrouped with RWBY, they were hugging Penny, as she was fully put back together.
"There, good as new…" Irad would say
Ruby would hug Irad. "Thank you so much for this!"
He'd be shocked a bit, and would nervously hug Ruby back, "Just… Trying my best to help others, as the Lord intended." He'd say. "Now… I suppose you all wish to go home. I can arrange a visit for you all again soon, but I don't want your leaders thinking I kidnapped their citizens… Penny, you can join us in going home too, if you feel ready. Weiss though, will remain with me for a bit longer… I'll be sure to send you the message to pass on."
"Huh? Why's that?" Yang asks.
Weiss clears her throat. "I was chosen to help him understand our world through the lens of a high class individual." Acting high and mighty.
"Right. Sure." Blake said with a skeptical tone.
Irad would chuckle, and they would exit the facility, and would enter the limo. Ruby would grab another Dr. Pepper, and Yang would say,
"Uhhh sis… I dunno if you should-"
"Oh, it's fine! It's to celebrate our friends being well, anyway!"
Ruby would sip and wince a little. Its hard to get used to, but the taste has… Something she can't describe. "Hm..." She continues to drink it to find that something.
"Jug! Jug! Jug!" Yang said. Ruby can't help but play around with this.
Irad would raise a brow, looking at Weiss, "Are they serious?"
Weiss facepalms. "Unfortunately… Honestly..." She would sigh.
He would watch the spectacle, as Ruby would chug, but would then spit out the drink due to the fizz, the blast hitting Irad, with Blake and Penny being next to him, leaning away to avoid the blast, as Irad would simply have his eyes and mouth closed, staying still for a moment as the liquid dripped from his nose, with Weiss covering her mouth from shock. Irad would then wipe his left eye, "Well that was… Refreshing…" He'd say, "Anyone have a handkerchief? I don't have mine on me." He said, patting himself down.
Weiss would lend her own. "Here. I'm usually the only one who carries some."
Irad would grab it, and for a split moment, their hands touched, and Irad quickly took the handkerchief with a slight blush, then he would clean his face off. His clothes would glow blue for a second, steam coming off, before it went back to normal, and his clothes were dry.
Yang would see his blush and found interest in this, "Oooh?"
He'd clear his throat, "I do hope you all enjoyed your time here, as short as it was. I'll be sure to bring you all back here very soon to see many other wonders."
Ruby and Blake would nod, and Yang winks. "Thank you for everything. And don't take too long Weiss." Yang says playfully to the heiress.
"Oh, stop complaining you baby." Weiss groaned, with Ruby just laughing as a response.
Irad would be a bit confused on Yang's wink, but would just shrug. Soon they reached the teleporter and went back through, no one feeling the effects of teleportation again. As Ruby, Yang, Blake, and Penny exited, they waved goodbye to Weiss and Irad, with Ruby saying,
"It was so nice to meet you Mr. Overlord sir!" This, making Irad smile, as the limo would go back into the portal once more, and the teleporter gate closed. They'd see it was sunset, and Blake would read her scroll, only to see it had a lot of missed calls and texts from Aiden, wondering where she was.
"Oh shoot!" Blake would quickly call him.
Yang notices this. "Blake?"
Aiden would pick up, "Blake?! Where the hell are you?!" He'd exclaim anxiously over the call.
"I'm sorry! I got wrapped in something. But I'm okay! Everyone else is fine too!"
He'd sigh, "Well… I'm just glad you all are safe… I'm sorry I overreacted… I've just been… Having a rough day..." He'd say, making Blake concerned for him.
She would feel ashamed. "Sorry for worrying you..."
"It's fine… Look, I'm sorry for reacting the way I did… I'll see you soon." He says, hesitating for a moment, "I… I love you." He'd say.
She would be very nervous, but would utter the words. "I… Love you too." She hangs up. Just then, she notices Ruby and Yang staring at her. Ruby in shock, while Yang looks with a very wide grin. "What?"
Meanwhile, Irad and Weiss would arrive to his castle, and as Irad helped Weiss out of the limo, Weiss would gawk at how big the castle is, and how beautiful it is, each tower being lit up, and almost seemed to reach up into infinity, "And here we are. I'll have my maids bring you into one of the guest rooms while I prepare a few things in advance…" He'd say as he looks up at his castle. He'd then sigh, before smiling warmly at Weiss, "I do hope you enjoy your stay. As indifferent as it may be to your present lifestyle of luxury…" His watch would then beep, "Ah, I need to take this. Uh, just enter those doors, and wait in the main entrance area. My maids will arrive shortly." He'd say as he went through the opened doors, off to another part of the castle, leaving Weiss to walk through and look at everything. The inside of the castle was very huge, tapestries of figures who seemed important were depicted in the paintings, and the frames seemed elegant and refined. The tiled floors looked squeaky clean and smooth, the walls made up of fine dark oak wood, carved with precision. Weiss could tell that Irad was no fan of gold, as nearly every small detail was made up of silver. When Weiss went further in, she looked up to where the stairs leading upwards to the 2nd level to see a large emblem that looked like the same one of the gift Irad had somehow given her. She'd pull it out and would compare it to the large emblem. As she was busy taking her environment in, she'd jump when she heard a maid clear her throat,
"Ms. Schnee. A pleasure to meet you, ma'am." She'd say as she curtsied.
She would bow politely. "The pleasure is mine." She feels much more comfortable in an environment like this. Felt like forever since she felt like this.
"The Overlord has been looking forward to your arrival! We have prepared a room for you, if you would please follow me, m'lady." She'd say, as she would lead Weiss into the castle. They'd roam the halls, Weiss admiring every detail of the castle. Portraits of what appeared to be battles, and portraits of holy figures decorated the halls. A small sphere drone would fly overhead, scanning the area, and would pass them. Soon they'd reach her room after traversing some of the halls,
"Please use the tablet that's in the room to call us if you are in need of something." She'd curtsy again, "We hope you enjoy your stay at the Overlord's stead, Ms. Schnee." She said before leaving Weiss to her room. When she opened the door, she was greeted by a large bedroom with a silver framed bed, the lighting soft, and the colors warm. The bed looked to be king sized, looking welcoming, and very comfortable, with white fitted sheets and comforter, it all looked clean and refined.
"Thanks." She nods. As she is left alone, she looks at her environment and is impressed by all of it. This rivals, and maybe even surpasses, anything in Atlas.
She'd pick up the tablet sitting on the white bedside cabinet. When she turns it on, scanning her face, it would read "Welcome, Ms. Schnee Weiss." before opening to the applications, the most obvious being the room service, but another app being an app that lets her read virtual books, and another being what appeared to be a movie service, judging by the icon, and another for the internet. She'd sit back, inhaling and exhaling with satisfaction. Everything smelled so clean, and it felt so nice being there. As she would be thinking, she'd receive a notification that dinner would be ready soon, and when it is ready, someone will come and retrieve her. She almost got jealous on behalf of her home of Atlas. Although that's just her usual pride, she would check more on the internet to learn more as she could about this civilization.
She'd search up about Irad, and it would describe him as a well known figure, explaining his feats, and how he's gone up against very powerful foes. It would also describe how he was able to overthrow and unify many civilizations from different parallel worlds, under his rulership. He had brought together the most brilliant minds to come help him create a more advanced, and prospering civilization, including creating a new, clean energy source, and smart AI to assist the people. She was very interested in the stories told about him. Unable to get her eyes off of them.
It would then describe where he came from. It said that the world he originated from was a world wrought with corruption, greed, lust, and so much death. It would highly contrast to the wonders seen in Irad's new world. Eventually, that world came to an end by the people's own hands.
She would see that the name of the world Irad originated from was dubbed, "E1767". Each realm and timeline seemed to be classified with a letter and set of numbers. She'd then see that he is currently 19 years of age, and would see that although he was very kind and caring to his people. Although, he was very reclusive from the public eye. Usually he'd stray from the public eye, and would only rule behind the scenes, letting his appointed advisors hear the claims of the people, and they would report to him. Although, when he would come out to the public, it would be to spread hope and joy, running events for everyone's enjoyment, or be present at important events, and would sometimes speak. Observers would speculate that he is very introverted, and doesn't like too much attention.
"He's like the most ideal Huntsman in his world." She mutters to herself.
She sees a link leading to a page on EARTH1767, and she would tap it, and it would describe the world as a world where humanity is the main species, and that that world was full of beasts and critters. It would describe their history, their history being wildly different than anything Weiss has ever heard. No huntsman? No dust? No semblance? She'd keep reading, and would notice the lack of information, and she would read upon EARTH1767's downfall. In the wake of humanity's sin, they would destroy themselves in a large-scale war. Irad would be the last of his kind, chosen to bear the powers he has. The status of EARTH1767 is unknown, but the Overlord, in an interview, would hypothesize that it has been rebuilt by the Lord somehow, or destroyed. She dreaded the idea of a world being destroyed. It's history and culture all reduced to smoke. Perhaps this world was a way to rebuild what was gone. She wondered more what could be on Irad's mind now. Who or what could he miss the most? Weiss noted how it seemed to have very little information about this, but soon read about how he was able to gain access into other parallel universes thanks to his magic, and creating a way for others to traverse other universes using a new technology called "coils". Weiss would find out the name of Irad's world; the name being "Ragadol" (Rah-guh-dull)
"Hm..." She continues to read deeply more into it. She read it was a peaceful world that strived for the best of every man, woman, and child. It was a large world, larger than Remnant by a long shot, and has been inhabited by the Overlord for the past 5 years by now. Weiss would see many beautiful pictures of different landmarks and beautiful views. She was in awe, and thought the world looked beautiful.
Suddenly, she'd then hear a knock on her door. Sje shut off the tablet, and would rise, heading to her door. She would open it, and it was the same maid, "Ms. Schnee." She said with a slight bow, "Dinner is ready, and the Overlord will see you now. Please, follow me." She'd say as she'd begin to walk.
"Yes. Thank you." She then follows.
Soon they would reach into the dining room, which Weiss was shocked at how big and fancy it was. She'd see Irad, him twiddling his fork, before seeing Weiss and brightening his look,
"Weiss! I hope you are enjoying yourself thus far!" He'd say, as Weiss would take a seat near Irad on the long dining room table, as she would smile.
"It's..." As she thinks to herself as she gets to her seat. "... An experience."
He'd sigh in content, "Ah, I'm glad..." Multiple butlers came in and set down their food, the smell being intoxicating to Weiss, and her stomach would growl. "Ah, yes I'm starving so much, I feel like I could eat a horse!" Irad would state in a giddy tone, and began to eat. Their food is served, and Irad would take a bite, loving the tastes. He was eating a steak. Weiss would also have a steak, along with what appeared to be cheese covered rice with broccoli bits, and some corn.
Not her usual cuisine, but being in Beacon had her be somewhat adaptable so she tried it, and really enjoyed it. Weiss would have a glass of non-alcoholic apple cider as her drink, with dinner rolls and deviled eggs as part of her dish. As they ate, Irad would speak up, "So tell me, I've seen your show and know a good amount... But do tell me about your world."
She would have a hard time to think about a start, "Well… Heh heh..." She nervously chuckles. "Where to start… I could talk about my home. Atlas. I'm sure you know about that in the… Show..." Having a hard time swallowing that one as she talks.
"Uh... Yeah sure, go on ahead." He says, "I do understand how strange it is... And I'm sorry about that." He'd exclaim.
She takes a bite from her steak and thinks on what to say. Then gulps it down. "Well…There is the history of it and how Atlas was the first to truly pioneer technological enhancements. My family would help out on it too."
Irad would be interested, "I see... Would you refresh me on Dust then and a bit of its history, since that is one of your family's greatest assets and legacy?" He asked curiously.
She nods. "It is. My ancestors did invent a way to utilize dust. Which, as you've seen, became a worldwide necessity." She said with pride.
He chuckles, "That IS very impressive. In fact, so much so, I may have my scientists order some dust to be looked at in order to further our advancement. Who knows..." He puts his elbow on the table, and holds his cheek up with his hand, looking at Weiss, flashing a grin, "Maybe you've just helped us advance even further than before in our technological advancements. Who knows what we can come up with now.. If that is fine, in your eyes." He'd exclaim, raising his brows, hoping she'd be fine with it.
She returned the smile, "What, and have your city even more perfect than it already is? Way to make our city less special." She said in a playful tone.
He laughs, amused, "As good as it may seem, we strive for the best for every person, including Atlas, if things go as planned… Now… I suppose you answered my question, do you by chance have one for me? Ask me anything, anything at all." He says, looking dreamily at Weiss, observing her features as he waits attentively for whatever question she has.
She would nervously laugh again. "Well… Ha ha...there are so many to think of. Hm… How about your training and how you became such a warrior?"
He'd think for a moment, before saying, "I learned a lot from other warriors and swordsmen. That, and the dragon fox entity had a numerous amount of fighting knowledge. Granite I am still a bit shaky on a few other parts in other weapons, such as spears and rapiers and such as, my skills are still perfected in the sword such as this." He says holding up his cane sword, "As for my magic, it took a long while to control, but eventually I overcame my challenges." He says, taking a drink, resting his cane down once more.
"Impressive. You've really done your homework on a lot of things." She said with respect.
He nods, "As I've always said, be ready for anything. In my case, I must be prepared to defend and lead my people the best I can..." He'd look down, "Lately though... I have been feeling a little down... And it's been a bit distracting..." He'd say sadly.
She can see what he means. This kind of responsibility could wear anyone down. "I see. Perhaps you are carrying so much weight on your shoulders. It's best to have your fair share with someone you could trust."
He blushes, "Um… Yeah, heh... That's spot on." He says, surprised she read him well. "I suppose you understand my feeling then." He'd say, relieved.
"Well..." The Heiress would shrug. "...I'm not particularly the leader of my group. But I do feel like I've been trying to get everyone away from trouble. Mostly the leader." She sighs.
He nods, "That's true. From what I've seen of you, you are the 'brains' of your team after all." After they finish eating, he'd stand, coming to her, then offering his hand for Weiss to take, "Come, I have something to show you." He'd say.
She would follow, wondering what he wanted to show her. They would maneuver around the castle, Weiss seeing many guards walk by, and she'd stay close to Irad as they eyed her, but would ease up once they only saluted the Overlord. After much walking and taking stairs, they'd soon reach a big room that seemed to be a huge tower… The central tower. "Right now, we are at the center of my castle. Up these steps leads to my throne." They would go up the stairs, and after a bit of climbing, Weiss would see a lone, large golden throne laced with silver at the edges. Big windows with sharp-pointed crosses as the center design surrounded every angle of the room, cascading moonlight within the room. Weiss would notice that the moon looked huge, and nothing like the moon back in Remnant. Irad, though, would lead her to the center of the platform, "Now then..." He'd tap his cane on the floor where he stood, and railing surrounded them, and the center part of the platform rose up. A hole would open up in the ceiling after they got close, and they would reach the top. Weiss would look around, as they were above the clouds, the moon looking beautiful, and the stars were clear. "I love the night time... Truly, it's beauty is unlike others. After a hard day, I like coming here and unwinding..." Irad would say, standing and looking around at the scene, as the cold wind blew, "A full moon... I love the full moon." He said, looking off. When Weiss looked below, she saw the expanse of his city, it was very large, and she saw a bit beyond that. It seemed like the world went on forever from up there, and everything seemed so small.
She was completely in awe of all of it. "Beautiful..." She said under her breath.
He'd look at her and would smile, "It is, isn't it." He said, as the wind blew back Weiss' hair. She'd look at Irad, and would blush, then cross her arms as it was chilly. Irad would then take off his coat and wrap it around Weiss. It was thick and warm, and it felt like she was enveloped in his embrace. Irad would smile, "Yknow... I hope from here on, we see each other more often. If- that is fine with you?" He'd ask, looking over Weiss' face as she looked up dreamily at him. Everything felt like a dream to Weiss, her heart was going crazy, and her head seemed to be clouded in this current situation.
She nervously chuckles again, "Ha ha ha… Sure. Why not? It's only to get to know our worlds right?"
"Maybe..." He says as he looks again at the scenery, "Maybe it's also because I genuinely like being in your presence, and want to spend time with you again..." He says with a smirk.
"Oh." She didn't think he'd just straight up say it. "Well, the pleasure is all mine." She said with a smile. He smiled as they stayed there, watching the scenery.
Meanwhile, with Aiden and Blake, Blake has Aiden in her arms, as he sleeps soundly. They were both outside, as they were just stargazing. Blake would look at the shattered moon, remembering what happened when she returned. Aiden had tackled her into a hug, him saying he missed her... She felt very touched at that time. But what she also noticed was a lot of people looking at them weird... Namely at Aiden. She could sense the animosity people had towards him. Perhaps they think he helped orchestrate the attack on Beacon? She wasn't sure… She was used to ridicule for most of her life. She could only imagine how he is taking all of this.
He stirred in his sleep, as he seemed to be having a bad dream, but Blake would just stroke his hair, and he would soon calm down, and smile. She'd feel sorry he had to go through the same pain again as he did when he was a child... Judged by others because he was adopted and raised by a faunus... And now this... She swore she'd be there to be there for him, no matter what. She'd kiss his forehead. She lets out a silent pur. She was always embarrassed doing it. But she wouldn't mind it if he's asleep. She'd look off at the stars again, hopeful that things will look up in their favor. For now, they have won. And for now, the darkness shall lay dormant...
In a lab in a building, one of the makers of the machine calls Nightmaratack, "It will be ready in time, demon." The person said.
"Good... Then it's only a matter of time..." Nightmaratack would hang up, as he looked to his slightly melting hand, clenching his fist, as it would become solid for a moment, before continuing to melt, "Soon... I will be whole once more… Then darkness will consume!" He says, as he laughs maniacally.
Time passes for months, as Team JNPR would make their long walk to Mistral. Much has changed in their world, some of teh governments in a few nations have authorized the use of Irad's forces to aid in the search for Salem and Nightmaratack, and the defense of their cities. Irad would be met by cheers from the people, as they heard of his victory over Cinder, hailing him a hero.
Nora and Ren walks along a forest in between Vale and Mistral. "So, I was thinking. Since we're friends with two other teams, does that mean we can be like a super team? Like combining super robots we saw on TV?"
"How is that a comparison?" Ren replies.
Nora groans. "How can I be much clearer? Team RWBY! Team JNPR! Team ASSN!" She begins to pose around. "Combine our powers, and become the Ultra Team! Team...RAWNPSSNJYBR!" She almost sounded like she was speaking gibberish.
"What was that?" Ren asked in bafflement. They then see Jaune standing around, focusing on something. "Jaune?" Ren was about to ask if he's alright, but he shushes him, needing his focus. Just then a ghost like Geist Grimm would rampage through the forest in a large body filled with rocks and trees controlled by said Geist.
They get chased around with Jaune calling out, "Pyrrha, now!" On top of the tallest tree, Pyrrha watches this from afar, sniper gun at hand. Taking her shot, she managed to shoot the head of the Geist, causing it to stumble. Using the metal of her armor, she dashes towards the action and hits the rocky head of the Grimm's possessed body, causing it to be sent meters away from her team as she lands on her feet, ready for a fight.
The Geist would struggle to keep its footing, only for a dark aura to envelop its put together body as all of it produces dark crystals coming out of it. More of them are coming out of the tree arm.
Jaune then gets nervous. "That's not meant to happen right?" It raises its spiked arm, causing the team to scatter as it smashes the ground.
Nora would try to shoot it with her cannon. Along with Ren's duel guns, and Pyrrha's own sniper gun. Jaune tries to think of a plan. Normally, he might get something for a regular Geist, but this got him stumped as he runs for his life. It begins to swap its crystal arm around to shoot its spikes towards the running Jaune, only for Pyrrha to notice and tackle him out of the way.
Suddenly, it would be hit by a blast, as a group of 3 of Irad's soldiers would come storming, "There's the signature! Eradicate immediately!" The commanding officer said, as the others used their spears, and shooting blue beams that seemed to make the beast reel, and would send one of them back.
Pyrrha would see this as she would levitate her spear and spin it as fast as she can, then flings it towards the crystal tree arm, and the speed and momentum completely shatters it all. Nora would jump from a high tree and smash the whole rocky chest, as the ghostly Grimm tries to escape, but in vain. The creature would scream as it dies, and the soldiers would ensure it was destroyed, before meeting with JNPR,
"Good work, you did well in taking down that beast. You all did well." The commander said, and they would be looking up at the tall soldier, as he stood tall and wide.
Jaune would be out of breath. "Hah… Hah… Thanks..."
Pyrrha would catch her spear back in her hands. "You must be Irad's men."
"Indeed we are. We were tasked to find signatures of Dark Grimm activities, and neutralize any threats." The men behind the commander would stand in attention.
Nora salutes to them. "We're just doing our own business sirs!"
Ren would walk in, speaking more casually. "We appreciate your help. But how did you know where the Dark Grimm were?"
"With this." They would point to where they had placed what appeared to be a small beacon on a map, and he'd show the radar which said that the area was clear.
"This picks up on the dark energy Nightmaratack's beasts emit."
Nora would smile to this, "Neat!"
Pyrrha would speak up. "Glad you can come. You can tell Irad that I appreciate his help a second time.
"The Overlord will be delighted to hear this... I do ask, where are you headed? Perhaps we can give you a ride." He'd offer, as their small transport would land.
Jaune would cut in. "Thanks, but we got to do our own thing. Back to Mistral. Warn the others about this darker Grimm. Kinda weird saying that out loud…"
He would nod, "Well if you'd like we can be the one to spread the word-"
"Don't worry, we have it under control." Pyrrha would assure. He would be silent, but would nod.
"Fine… Then you can provide our findings, by giving this." He'd hand over a chip, "Ensure it gets into their hands safely, all our information is on there about the Dark Grimm." They'd salute, "Remnant is counting on the likes of you, team JNPR." He'd say before they got on their transport and flew away.
They would see them leave with smiles. "They were nice." Nora bluntly said.
"Alright, let's get moving." Jaune has a feeling it's gonna be smooth sailing from here.
Meanwhile, in the world of Irad, he and Weiss stood over a hologram table of Remnant. It wouldn't be a full on map, but more a map of the regions.
"Now what if we placed some stations here, here, and here." Irad would say, making a pulling motion on 3 three different spots, and holograms of what appeared to be soldier stations would rise up. Weiss would observe the map, thinking strategically.
"Hm… I'm thinking it should be more like this.:." Moving the buildings around to her liking, using other stations Irad has.
Irad would narrow his eyes at the map, then would widen his eyes, nodding, "Ah yes, then we could do… Yes!" He says as he was rearranging a few things on the other parts of the map, and the plan seemed to be set, "Genius! I think this sector should do just fine! Brilliant work, Weiss! As I always liked to say. Great minds think alike." Irad would say with a chuckle. She chuckles as well. Just then she begins to be lost in her mind, staring at the table.
He'd notice her shift, getting close to her, "Hey... You alright?" Irad would ask Weiss concerningly.
She snaps out of her gaze. "Oh… It's just…I can't stop thinking about my home…" She looks at her phone and sees 3 messages from her Father. "He seems to want me back, but then… Gave up… He was really ticked off when I didn't come back after that incident you warned me about…"
He thinks for a moment, "I don't think you really wanna go back there." He says knowingly. He internally debated on telling her what will happen if she does, as he doesn't want to lose her, himself.
She groans. "I know that! I just… Can't stop thinking about my Mom… My sister…" She then slouches. "I just can't stop thinking how… I feel more at home here than my original home…" She also can't stop thinking about her mom being a drunk husk of her former self, and her bratty brother. "Can't help but think if… I don't know…" She doesn't know what to say, but the thing she mentioned doesn't make her feel good.
He thinks for a moment, and he feels bad for her. He knows how much some of her family members meant to her, and he wanted to make her smile, because that was important to him. "How about I cut you a deal... You have two options... A: I can join you back to Remnant, put some things on my schedule aside, and can become your backup. I highly doubt your father would wish to start things with the likes of me, with my title. Or B: I can bring whomever you wish into this realm, and you can see them. Will take a little more time to arrange... But I can make do. Either way, I can keep your father at bay." He offers. He'd then sweatdropped, "Damn it, I rhymed."
She laughed a bit. "You seem to have an answer for everything do you?"
"Not all the time... But, I do my best." Irad would say with a wink, "To be a leader, you must have the answers quickly. Otherwise, your people can be driven into chaos in a matter of time... The same can be said for anything in life, for life doesn't wait on you." He'd nod though, "I do suppose this visit has been longer than the others you've taken the past few months... If you wish to return to your team, I, of course, am not keeping you prisoner here, by any means." He says chuckling.
"Well, I believe you can get to know them a bit more personally." Referencing him seeing them through a screen.
Irad would consider, "Perhaps so... Very well... I have been working a lot myself, a break wouldn't hurt." He'd exclaim, as one of his drones had flown by. Irad would then toss his cane up, then grasp it below the handle, "Shall we go then?" He'd say.
Weiss raises her hand for it to be held. "Let's." She is looking forward to this reunion.
He smiles as they interlock hands and leave together, Irad calling a limo. One thing crossed his mind though... What the hell are you planning, Nightmaratack? He knew he was on his trail, as he was doing his own private search…
In Menagerie, a little cat faunus would be playing around with a kickball. It would be kicked out of their bounds. Luckily it would be grabbed by a girl in black and red.
"Here!" Ruby cheerfully gives the ball to the young Faunus. So far, Ruby is enjoying her life here. Although it was worrying at first, since she was human, Blake's parents would try to clear some air. With a little tension around. But Ruby wearing a hood wouldn't leave much suspicion initially. She continues looking around the city and appreciates how prosperous and positive the atmosphere is.
Aiden and Blake were walking together, catching a view of the scenery, and smiled. "Ya know, it's really nice here. Other than your mother making things weird with the whole uh..." He nervously chuckled, "Grandkids thing..." He says as he gulped and blushed. He remembered the situation, when Aiden met Blake's parents, he did his best to be as respectful and presentable as possible. Blake's parents would catch wind of Aiden's attraction to Blake, and the mother went crazy over Aiden, the father though, being a bit more hesitant on Aiden. They sympathized with Aiden after he gave his story, about his adoptive father being a Faunus himself, and being looked down upon.
And speaking of fathers, his father wasn't there right then, so he'd have to wait to see him again, which Blake was excited for, nonetheless. Aiden would wear his black hoodie so as to not catch attention, himself.
"Well..." They turn to see Yang with her cowboy hat. "... Look at the two lovebirds. Or… Love kittens more like it?" She grinned.
"Yang!" Blake didn't like Yang's teasing. Aiden just stayed silent and blushed, slouching.
The black cat faunus would sigh. "Yang, you shouldn't be roaming around so recklessly."
"Oh, it's fine. Everyone is so friendly here!" Yang said happily.
"Maybe so, but you never know, Yang." Aiden warned.
"Hey, I got it. Whenever someone asks me what animal I am, I say I'm a panda, and my hat and pants were covering my ears and tail."
This caused Blake to roll her eyes. "Can you take this a bit more seriously?"
"If they find out we're human, we can gain some unwanted attention, and possibly be kicked outta here, or worse." Aiden states logically.
Yang shrugs. "Pfft. Blake's parents practically run this whole place, and everyone loves them. I'm sure things will work out for us." Little did they know that two shadowy figures watched them.
Back in the Belladonna residence, Blake was having dinner with her friends. Ghira, Blake's father, and Kali, Blake's mother, would bring a feast for her friends. This isn't the first one though since they spent some weeks with them. "So, you all didn't specify how your team dynamic worked." Ghira said with curiosity.
Blake would be a bit shy about it. "Well… It's nothing really special?"
"What do you mean, Blake?!" Ruby almost jumped.
"Perhaps she means that you're just a team that works well together, just as any other good team... Although I will admit, your team is quite different from regular teams, I've seen. Even my own." Aiden would exclaim, drinking his tea. "I've been around your team a lot... And I've observed you all."
There was silence. Ghira laughs. "You seem to like to look at my daughter and her friends!"
Yang laughs. "Yeah, we got ourselves a stalker!"
Blake feels all kinds of uncomfortable and just sighs heavily, feeling all kinds of embarrassed.
Aiden sinks down a bit in embarrassment, "I just care... That is all..." He'd quietly say, picking at his food.
They'd then hear a knock on their door, and Ghira would go and get it. When she opened the door, she was greeted by Irad and Weiss, "You must be Mrs. Belladonna." Irad would say politely. "I am Irad, you've probably heard of me." He'd say with a slight bow, he'd then look to Weiss so she can introduce herself.
"And don't mind me..." She realizes it might make them nervous if they know she is a Schnee. "I'm a friend." She humbly bows.
Kali would gasp. "Wait, you're from the Schnee family aren't you?" Weiss felt cursed for being a part of the most well known families in the world.
"Hey guys! You should try that sandwich sh-" Then she gasps. "WEISS!" She then tackles her inside the house. Then she see's Irad. "Oh, hi Irad!"
He sweat drops, "Wow, I feel appreciated already." He'd say as he was let inside. Irad would look around, "Wow, you have a lovely home, Mrs. Belladonna!" Irad would say, hanging his coat up and pulling up his sleeves, taking his shoes off at the front door, and leaving his cane leaned up against the wall.
"Um, thank you." She said nervously, trying to process this sudden thing going on.
Weiss groans as she gets up and dusts herself. "Honestly… You haven't changed a bit, Ruby Rose."
Ruby would be unphased by her comment. "I just missed you so much, bestie!"
Irad would greet everyone, "Good to see you again, Ruby, Yang, and Blake." He'd say as he took a seat nearby Weiss. He'd feel a bit awkward coming in like this.
"Well if it isn't the Ice Queen and her King!" Yang said with a smile.
Weiss sighs as she is done dusting herself. "And you haven't changed either Yang."
Blake raised her brow with a smirk. "I didn't think you'd suddenly visit like this."
"It's not a big deal really. Just updating you on what we've been up to." Weiss would explain.
"Nah, she totally missed you all." Irad would say, chuckling, earning a small punch from Weiss, and a playful 'ow' from Irad,
"What? It's true!" He said laughing, then Weiss chuckled a bit herself.
Ruby would dash in front of Weiss which startles her. "So what have you been up to?"
The heiress would stutter a bit. "Well… We were… Um..."
"Just doing uh, business." Irad would say to cover Weiss.
Blake would give them some tea for the guests. "I see. I'm guessing it's important?"
"It is important, indeed. She has been informing me a lot about your world, and has been helping out with a few things"
"That's our Weiss!" Ruby cheered.
She would be flattered, but hides it to the best of her abilities. "Well, of course. You honestly thought I'd be relaxing and stay in my bed all day?"
Irad would clear his throat, and looked the other way to hide his giggle, as Weiss looked at him with narrowed eyes, and he would turn and just playfully smile, before drinking his tea again, as he knew how relaxed she was when she took a day at the spa with him back in his realm. He never saw someone so relaxed in his life until that moment in the spa that day.
Ghira would walk in. "Well, looks like your whole team is here." Blake would smile genuinely from this.
"So tell me, how have you all been?" Irad asked everyone of RWBY, except Weiss of course.
"We're like the coolest team! We took on many big Grimm and dangerous criminals!"
"Is that so?" Irad would say, visibly impressed, "Some of my men have reported all your victories to me. You've all come so far. I'm very impressed. Just don't let pride get to your heads now." He'd exclaim.
Blake would nod. "I can't imagine how bad things would have gotten if you didn't help though… Still can't help but think there is still some danger out there."
Yang rolls her eyes. "Ah, you're just being paranoid Blake."
"Well Nightmaratack and Salem are still out there. Therefore, I don't think we can really rest until we can destroy them." Aiden would insist.
"I am currently attempting to trace their location now. With my technology, we'll be able to find them in a matter of time if I get enough leads." Irad would add.
Ruby feels like adding her positivity to this. "I'm sure we can handle them as long as you're with us."
Irad nods, "I can always take care of the demon myself, as my holy magic can repel whatever he decides to toss. I can leave Salem and the rest to you, ASSN, and JNPR."
Weiss would then speak about them. "Yeah, I wonder what they are up to nowadays."
"Who knows… My team was very understanding when I joined you guys. And they are caring for Zwei too." Aiden would state, much to Ruby's delight.
At Salem's castle, we see Cinder surrounded by Neo, Emerald, and Mercury in a sparring match to further train Cinder, Cinder preparing to unleash her new, devastating power she has been practicing for the past few months. Near the training area, Roman and Nightmaratack would spectate. As Cinder prepared, she let the power flow through her, she could feel it... The embers of hell itself seem to call out to her, to unleash it. Her anger grew tenfold. She was angry at everyone, everyone for being weak. For Irad for beating her and casting her aside, damning her to this new hell… But most of all, she was angry at Nightmaratack, for putting her down, making her feel so powerless. She hated he had her on a leash... And she hated him in general. She used this anger and hatred to further fuel her power, as she would go to unleash her new demonic magic upon her sparring mates, being merciless.
Mercury and Emerald would be blown away by her burst of power. Emerald would hit her head on a wall, while Mercury slams his back towards another wall. "Ow! Hey!"
Cinder would growl like an animal, almost feeling her human traits slipping away in the moment. She regains composure after a moment, as Nightmaratack grins. Roman would seem impressed.
"That is all for now. You are ready, Cinder. I will inform you when it is time to start our mission..."
He'd then turn to Roman, and speak silently, "My boy, Roman. Follow me. I have a... Proposition for you." Nightmare would say as he would turn and walk away with Roman, leaving Cinder there with her downed sparring mates.
Emerald would still be dazed as Cinder walks away, leaving them. Mercury would grumble. "... Dick move..."
Emerald would be visibly upset by this. "Cinder?"
Cinder would just walk off, not even heeding their mind.
She felt angry for herself, angry that yet again, she was on a leash, and felt weak… In her childhood, she had lived in an orphanage, mistreated and bullied by the kids and adults, having to scavenge for food, forced into labor, always feeling weak, always on a leash... One day though, a kind, caring, and beautiful woman adopted Cinder, and took her to her manor. For a while, she felt at peace; at home. The father was very kind, and the two daughters also seemed kind. Soon though, while riding in a carriage with her step mother, they would be ransacked by thieves. These thieves would steal their valuables, and one of them murdered her step-mother, as she had tried to protect Cinder from them. As she held her mother in her arms, weeping, the thieves got away. She felt weak-useless once more… At home, once word of her death went around, the father and daughters blamed her. She was beaten, and made a slave. The father was unruly, the daughters unkind. Their once kind hearts grew sour, and for a while it remained that way. She was cold, alone, and weak… One day, while her father was beating Cinder for a small mistake she made, she extended her hand and had casted a fiery attack onto him by accident, burning his face to a crisp. The daughters saw this, and came to his aid, and she was casted out, and labeled a monster. She ran away, not looking back, crying… For a long time, the cycle continued…. Cold… Alone… Weak… Then, she met HER. She promised Cinder power, and the assurance to never feel weak again, as long as she followed her: to which, Cinder agreed… Inside, she felt a bit betrayed by Salem not even stepping in to aid her against Nightmare's treatments… But she knew there was no turning back now. She would show them, she thought, she would become more powerful… Then she wouldn't be weak… They wanted a monster, so she'll give them one. A laugh would echo in her mind, and she cracks a devilish smile, unknowingly.
As Nightmaratack and Roman walked through the halls, Nightmaratack would speak, "Do tell me... Why have you joined Salem and her crusades, hm?" He'd ask
Roman would shrug. "Well… To be honest… I mostly worked for Cinder. She didn't really specify the whole Salem part. Whenever she talks though, it makes me wonder… If she wanted to be called the head honcho, and not her boss..." He smirks deviously.
He cackles, "Well, my friend... I will say this, you have proven yourself to be quite resilient and cunning." He says, patting Roman on the back with a gloved hand. "Much more cunning than Cinder... So, I've decided to give you this proposition. Be loyal to me and only me, and I will grant you every desire you wish. You wish to rule a kingdom? I'll give you a whole continent. You wish for infinite riches? I can provide riches beyond your dreams... In my new world, I can ensure a high place for you, but only if you accept this deal. Because I will need your full cooperation for what is in store." He'd say to Roman.
He would lean closer. "I'm listening..."
"I will need you to lure Aiden Green in... Make him have no choice but to comply. Cinder will be there as a way to fend off those hunters and huntresses... And you may bring Olmotack as well, if you wish." He'd chuckle, "Perhaps you can use Olmotack as leverage, since they have no idea he's being controlled..." He'd state, "But... Can I count on you, and solely you, Mr. Torchwick?" Nightmaratack asked.
He chuckles. "I like the sound of that."
The demon smiles wide, "Good. I hope to hear of your success, Mr. Torchwick. I have high hopes for you." He said as he walked off. Satisfied he had another pawn at his beck and call.
Meanwhile, JNPR walks through Mistral, with Pyrrha leading. "We're here! The city of Mistral." She said, happily.
"About time!" Nora lets her feelings known. "Who's idea was to walk again?!"
Ren was of course calm. "Well, we did face many obstacles. Broken airships, destroyed settlements..."
Jaune adds on to their journey they just had. "Oh, and, you know, all those people and monsters that tried to murder us."
"Nothing we can't handle, right?" The red haired huntress quipped.
They roam around, looking for the Academy of Haven. Pyrrha would be silent for a bit. Jaune would walk on ahead next to her. "You alright?"
"Oh! Yeah, I'm fine."
The blonde continues, "You're pretty close to home."
"Yes. And also close to your home as well."
"Yeah..." Jaune chuckles. "There is also Haven… Did your parents have any ideas on putting you to Haven?"
The red head hums in thought. "It's been awhile, but my Mother had the idea to put me to Haven since it's so close. But my Father was convinced that Beacon was best for me. Personally… I felt Haven was more comfortable for me. But… After meeting you and the others, I'm glad Father chose Beacon." They look at each other with smiles on their faces. After everything they've been through, it's easy to see the truth in her words.
As they roam, they notice broadcasts on billboards and tvs that showed Irad,
"Greetings! I am Irad, the Overlord of my realm. This is a recorded message that will occasionally play as to inform and remind every citizen in every city and town. Currently, I have my men stationed here, as we have decided to aid in your protection, because YOU are important. Some things you need to note is that if you see these big soldiers," a picture of one of Irad's men would be shown, "Please do not fear them, for they are here for your protection. If they give any orders, please make sure to follow those orders, as you would any peace officer. My government and yours strive to protect your freedom from the hands of evil, and are working hand in hand to bring in a brighter future. And remember, if you have any issues: call your local authorities. That is all you need to know, and please, keep watch for more updates! God bless you all, and I wish you all the best!" The broadcast would end, and would return to normal broadcast.
JNPR watches in surprise. They then look at each other, wondering what will happen from this. Pyrrha being pretty optimistic, knowing Irad. The team continues their journey while everyone mumbles about this new face and his army. They would see some of his soldiers marching and standing about. They looked intimidating. Some of them, though, would wave at them. Their armor seems large, and they looked very muscular. Their armor was a blueish-black, with a silver cross across their chest. They held spears that looked advanced technologically.
Nora would be the first to speak. "Oooooooh. Shiny!"
"I'm guessing this is what he was talking about." Ren said bluntly.
Jaune would be a bit intimidated by their big appearances. Pyrrha would wonder how strong they are. They would reach Haven, Pyrrha stops to look at the academy that could have been hers.
They then walk in, to knock. Only for no response. Jaune was confused after no response, only to realize that the door was unlocked. "That's weird..."
"What is it?" Pyrrha asks, which she gets her answer with her leader opening it.
"Hello?" Jaune nervously said. The whole team slowly walks in, seeing how empty Haven is.
"Helloooo?" Nora sang. No response. "Echo!" Nora plays around, much to Ren's annoyance.
The atmosphere felt uneasy as they walked. They reach the headmaster's room. Pyrrha would feel some unease. "Something's not right..."
Jaune grabs his weapons. "Get ready..." He whispers. Ren, Nora, and Pyrrha. Then they kick the doors up, seeing a bearded man shout, then the team shouts. The man then faints.
"Headmaster… Lionheart?" Pyrrha said apologetically.
"Guh… Children? Wh-What are you doing here?" Headmaster Lionheart would breathe heavily.
"We're sorry! We were looking for you! It's an important matter from our former Headmaster Ozpin!"
Lionheart gasps. "Ozpin?"
Jaune would speak then. "Yeah… Maybe we should calm down a bit first. May we come in?"
After some time, everyone sits down for tea.
"I see. How awful." Leonardo Lionheart says.
Jaune nods. "Yeah, but we had help."
Ren adds on. "Also the Grimm took on strange mutations."
The Headmaster would reply. "Oh my…" It's easy to see that he is a bit of a light heart with how he is handling the news.
Pyrrha speaks, sliding the chip, "The rest of the headmasters need to know about this. Also let them know that we have new allies."
Lionheart sighs. "Best news I heard all day." Lionheart would say to himself, "So that's why there has been those broadcasts and big armored men..."
Nora then jumps excitedly, which startled Lionheart. "Yep! That's right! Our new buds against evil!"
Pyrrha would notice the people being worried outside. "I'm guessing this is not making things easier in the people's eyes..." Being reminded of how things were uneasy when Ironwood showed his robots.
Lionheart would sigh. "Help is something we desperately need. I can't say the council will be pleased with this..."
Jaune would shrug. "Shouldn't they be more optimistic that help is finally happening?"
"From total strangers that just so happen to help? Hate to say it, but they have a little right to be a bit suspicious."
Pyrrha places her hand on her chest. "I assure you, they are to be trusted. If it wasn't for their leader, I wouldn't be here."
Lionheart would give a serious glare, he wants to see if Pyrrha is extra sure, which she looked the part. He sighs again, "In that case, you may stay if you like. But attending will be a rough patch."
Jaune then waves his hand. "We're not worried about that right now. We're more focused on this threat going on."
After some time, JNPR leaves his room and the jumpy Headmaster would sit at his desk and be exhausted. "Oh Leo. You need to work on your improvisation skills." A voice comes out of a communicator.
Outside the room JNPR would walk their way out of the academy. "So… Is this not going at all like anyone thought it would?"
Jaune notices Pyrrha is in deep thought. "Something feels… Off… I can't put my finger into it..."
"What do you mean?" Ren asks.
The red head would try to remember something, but she couldn't after all the craziness that happened to her over the past months.
Just then they notice someone come in from the front door. They grab their weapons until they realize it's a young boy in a white shirt and green pants. "Um… Hello?"
Meanwhile, back in the Belladonna household, two men knock on their door as Ghira opens it. "Yes?"
Inside, Blake and Yang walk downstairs. "I don't think I like that idea."
"Come on! Think about it! Me, you, and Aiden riding on Bumblebee!"
"Isn't it only able to hold like two pe-" Blake then notices two men in hoods with one of them with jackal ears, conversing with her father. "Dad?" She recognizes them and almost panics. "What are you doing talking to them?!"
Ghira calmly replies, "This is Corsac and Fennec Albain. They represent the White Fang of Menagerie."
Yang walks in. "Wait, what are those psychos doing HERE?!" She instantly gets mad, remembering the White Fang's involvement in the Attack on Beacon.
Aiden would come over, "What the hell is going on?!"
They notice Aiden and Yang's presence. "Guests, Belladonna? They don't appear to be Faunus."
Blake gets in their way. "Don't change the subject. Don't think we forgot what you guys did on Beacon!"
Ghira was confused. "Did what in Beacon?"
Yang fills Aiden in, "Those goons are White Fang."
Aiden reaches behind his back for his sword, ready to fight.
One of them named Corsac would look at a hostile Aiden. "I see you are no different from most humans' reactions to faunus." Fennec the fox faunus would insult in a very calm and soft tone.
"My adoptive father was a Faunus, thank you. It's called being safe than sorry." He sneered.
Ghira then gets in between them. "Alright, that's enough. So what happened in Beacon?"
"They all attacked us, along with Cinder and their boss." Aiden stated, still uneasy by their presence, noting exits that are around them to get out the civilians, namely Ghira and those who could not defend themselves, from his knowledge.
"Is this true?" Ghira said in a threatening tone to the twins.
Fennec would speak up. "Sadly, it's true."
"Explain yourselves." Ghira speaks in this awkward atmosphere.
Corsac looks at his partner and then does as Ghira said. "Though it pains us to admit, it has become apparent that the Vale branch of the White Fang is no longer operating under orders of High Leader Kahn. Rather, they would follow the lead of Adam Tarus. I'm sure you are aware of his… Extreme-philosophy." Blake's eyes squint in anger, knowing very well of this.
Fennec would also add on. "Not to mention they were influenced by some drug that no doubt had them susceptible to more violent behavior."
Yang would roll her eyes, finding these lies. "Come on… The White Fang were known for violent attacks before Beacon. Everyone knows that."
Fennec continues, "The council had their suspicions of a splinter group but they cannot prove anything until the latest incident, and even then the drugs bring more suspicion for humanity trying to give the White Fang unwarranted blame."
"Drugs… Wait… What do you know about them?" He says, remembering what Olmotack told him.
Corsac would raise his hand. "I don't recall answering to you, even if you are supposedly a faunus."
He'd grumble, "My adoptive father is a faunus, I am human, now tell me, what. Drugs." He states with a serious tone. "Did it give them black veins around their bodies?" He'd ask hastily.
Ghira would then step in the conversation. "I'd like to know about these drugs too."
They would bow to him. "For your previous status as the head of the White Fang, we humbly have to hold off on revealing this information out in the open, lest we risk panic. Unless we can get you to help us investigate and review ample evidence we found to find the ones responsible.
He thinks about it. "I will. But another day. I'd like to reconnect with my daughter."
"But of course." Corsac bows, turning their attention to Blake, "It is good to see you again. We were saddened when we heard of your departure from the White Fang. But we can understand if you can no longer support our cause."
Fennec adds on. "It is a wearying fight after all."
Blake smirks, "Who said I'm done fighting?"
"Hm. If you do wish to return, you merely need to come find us." Corsac said.
"Sister Ilia will be most elated." Fennec said. Blake would only frown harder hearing about her old friend.
With that, Ghira grabs his double doors. "Good day, gentlemen." And slams the doors in front of them.
Yang would raise her brow. "Sister Ilia?" She then see's Blake walk away. "Blake, wait!"
Aiden would also follow Blake, as they walk silently together,
"That demon..." He hissed under his breath, referring to Nightmaratack.
Ruby then walks in with Weiss. "Hey guys!"
Weiss noticed something off in the room. "What did we miss?"
Irad would come along as well, "Hey, what's going on?" He'd ask
Ghira would sigh as he leaves. "It's nothing. You should check on Blake."
This has Ruby and Weiss looking at each other wondering what he means by that.
Irad would narrow his eyes, as he just sighs, "Weiss, I have to go. Duty calls. I will however come back later though." He'd say to Weiss. "And I think you should stay with your friends for now."
Weiss crosses her arms. "This goes without saying, but be careful."
Irad would nod, and smile warmly, "I will… I wish the same for you. Text me anytime, Weiss." Irad would say as he left. Her eyes would follow him, as she felt disappointed he had to leave.
Ruby would be in awe. "Do you like him?"
Weiss turned to her, planting a serious expression to hide her disappointment, "Obviously I do."
The red hooded leader then shakes her head. "No, I mean… Like like?"
"What are you on about now?"
"Uuuuuuh…" Ruby was unable to think about what to say.
Blake would sit alone in her room, reading one of her books, trying to get her mind off of things.
Aiden would knock on her door, and Blake would ask who it was, and Aiden would respond. She would allow him to enter, and he strode in, closing the door behind him.
"Heya"
"Aiden." She would begin to shift her focus on him.
He would sit beside her, "I was… A bit concerned from earlier." He'd admit, "Really I… Wanted to check in on you."
She would sigh, "I'm fine."
He'd sigh as well, "I… I don't mean to be an annoyance… Really, I do…" He'd look off for a moment, deliberating, "What really irked me… Is the fact that the demon drugged them… I know there's bound to be something more…" He says, clenching his fists, as his eyes slightly glowed, but he'd calm down, "But I want to let you know that… I'm here for you." He says with a small smile, putting a hand over hers.
She would be silent for a bit. "I… Don't feel like talking about this… I know we're in my home and met my family, and..." She stutters, not feeling comfortable. "... You know the White Fang is not one of my proudest moments of my life..."
He nods, "I understand completely..." He says, heaving a sigh, "But... You at least grew from it, and now here you are." He said, motioning a hand around the room, "You have a team now, a team that's your bestest friends, and many other friends. And well... You have me too..." He said, a bit embarrassed on the last part. He felt like he was being too corny at that moment.
She chuckled a little. "I… Wish my old comrades in the White Fang grew from it as well..."
He nods, "All we can do really, is hope. I suppose the Lord will assist..." He exclaims. "Have faith. I'm sure in the end, they will see."
She would feel better thanks to his words. She would embrace him, and he would hug her back, "I'm always here for you, Blake... I love you..." He says, and his words resonated within her.
She would whisper, " I love you too..."
