Chapter 6:

Day of the tournament, 10 minutes until the quarterfinals start:

After a long two year it was finally time for me to experience my first piece of cannon, and not a small one either, here is where I'd say goku truly sets himself as his own a great warrior in his own right and it is undeniable that he no longer relies on one persons teachings and lives in their shadow, now if anything his old masters will soon find themselves living in his shadow. Combine that with the fact he will soon start his own family and carve his own path with them these next 5 years.

'Not that I will let you get stronger than me just because you are are getting a little character development. I will be the strongest this reality has ever seen, no matter what shortcuts and hax I have to exploit, I am not going to lose to someone that changes their hair colour faster than bulma changes her hair styles'

After double checking to make sure my appearance is covered with by my loose hooded robes and my bandanna I have over my lower face and that my power is properly lowered to that of a normal person I finish walking up to behind the stands of the arena and climb over before picking a seat in the back.

'While it is bigger than it was when goku first fought here this is still a basic tournament, so it is not surprising I could just swim to the island and then just walk behind the scenes and sneak in'

After a little while the announcer walked out from the main building as said in his overly dramatic voice.

"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! TODAY IS GOING TO BE ONE FOR THE AGES AS TODAY WE HAVE A TOURNAMENT FULL OF THE MOST POWERFUL FIGHTERS I HAVE SEEN TO DATE! LET's GIVE A WARM WELCOME TO OUR FIRST FIGHTERS! ON ONE SIDE WE HAVE THE GREATEST ASSASIN IN THE WORLD MERCENARY TAO! I HOPE HE KEEPS IN MIND THAT KILLING IS STILL NOT PERMITTED IN THESE BOUTS! AND IN THE ITHER CORNER WE HAVE OUR PREVIOUS CHAMPION TIENSHINHAN!"

Both fighters walk out and I can see they are speaking but don't bother listening because while with my super hearing I could, I already know the jist of what they are saying and frankly their fight isn't going to be entertaining enough to indulge in the drama of it, I already know Tien is going to stomp Tao no difficulty. I also know that the same will happen in the next fight with chichi and goku, as goku won't even need to touch her to win, he will just use a weak kiai.

'I might as well meditate until the good fights start'

So I close my eyes and relax into a meditative trace.

20 minutes later:

"AND NEXT UP IS IS A VETERAN TO THIS ARENA, GIVE A WARM WELCOME ONCE AGAIN TO KRILLIN! AND ON THE OTHER SIDE IS A MYSTERIOUS NEWCOMER TO THE TOURNAMENT! GIVE A HAND TO MAJUNIOR!

Both fighters walk out of the main building and I can already tell that Piccolo isn't going to take Krillin seriously.

'Well if it isn't my favourite earthling down to take a fat L. Unfortunately the best he can say he got from this fight is he at least managed to surprise piccolo, lucky for him is the Ls he takes now come back in good karma when it comes to his wife. If I manage to help him grow stronger and more confident in himself than his cannon dragon ball super counterpart he can go far, maybe not rainbow hair sayian far but maybe Majin buu lvl or a bit higher'

Soon, they are both standing across from each other in the arena, Krillin with an intense look on his face, Piccolo with a look of amusement. The announcer soon walks on the stage and says

"ALRIGHT FIGHTERS, ARE YOU READY?"

After receiving no acknowledgment of having heard them he shrugs and swiped his hand down in a chopping motion and says "START!"

For a few moments they sit and talk, with Piccolo calling Krillin weak before after being fed up with the trash talk, Krillin takes the initiative and throws his hands forward with twin orange blasts forming in his hands.

"Ha!"

And with that two twin beams of energy shoot from his hands and toward Piccolo.

"is that all?" Piccolo says as he casually dashes into the air, avoiding the energy attacks. Only for them to bend and return on course for their target. Piccolo, surprised by the sudden change of direction of the energy beams turns hastily towards the attack and fires a concentrated eye laser at them, nullifying the attack.

"Hya!"

Only for him to be surprised once again by Krillin suddenly appearing where he was just looking and hit him with a strong cross jab across the face while in his blind spot.

Goku: "Incredible!"

Krillin does many many summersaults to control his fall and lands gracefully on his feet with a grunt of effort. Meanwhile Piccolo regains his composure after having underestimated Krillin.

Announcer: "PHENOMENAL! JUNIOR HAS REGINED HIS COMPOSURE AND NOW HOVERS ABOVE THE STADIUM!"

Piccolo rubs his cheek while smiling slightly and says

"You're not as pathetic as I thought. This might be fun yet"

Then piccolo flys down to in a bluff charge at Krillin before landing back in the ring.

Krillin: "Darn, I didn't damage him"

Nothing happens after that for a few moments, before what appears to be in an instant to the normal persons eyes Krillin rushes Piccolo who dashes to his right to avoid such a forward assault from Krillin but undeterred Krillin quickly follows at a speed tht once again catches piccolo off guard and unleashes a wild barrage of punches, trying to strike from any possible angle to slip through Piccolo's defence however all his strikes end up effortlessly dodged or blocked with ease. Quickly Piccolo dashes back into the air to gain some distance with Krillin hot on his trail, not giving him time to breath for a moment.

Piccolo: "He doesn't give up!"

Quickly Piccolo cocks his leg back and just as Krillin gets to him he senses the attack coming to late and is booted right in the face which sends him shooting at rapid speed towards the ground.

Launch: "Krillin!"

Yamaha: "He'll fall!"

Goku: "Out of bounds!"

Piccolo: "Ha! Loser"

And just when it seems all is lost for Krillin, he suddenly stops just short of falling out of bounds by floating just above the grass, shocking everyone present besides myself. He slowly turns himself upright and runs his cheek laughing lightheartedly.

Roshi: "Amazing. He learned the hovering space trick"

Lunch: "Not bad Krillin, good work"

Tien: Nice Krillin. When did you master that move?"

Goku: "Yeah way to go! Perfect!"

And with that Krillin slowly floats back onto the arena stage. Soon after Piccolo lands as well and the two being talking back and forth again with Piccolo seemingly saying Krillin is more than garbage and is worthy of some respect, but piccolo is going to use his full power which Krillin Goads him about, thinking it won't change Krillins chance of winning.

Me: 'No krillin, you are already fighting at your best, a kamehameha won't make a difference when you are too slow to him them with it are only slightly faster than you opponent is when they are relaxed. This is going to cost you the only chance you had at winning, just like it did in the normal timeline'

And just like I expected, just like in the show, Piccolo goads Krillin into charging him and spends the next few minutes using his cape to hide where his body really is in what I assume was to shake Krillin's confidence by showing how wide the gap in power is between Krillin and Piccolo when he goes all out and or tire Krillin out by making him waste energy striking his cape and empty air and nothing more.

Piccolo: "You really are amusing"

Krillin, hearing this decides to taunt Piccolo into fighting him head on says "Where's that REAL power you were talking about?"

Piccolo "Ah, I see. Are you sure you're ready for it?"

Krillin: "I can handle anything you can dish out! C'mon!"

With that Piccolo quickly jumps over Krillin to the other side of the arena, which causes Krillin to quickly turn around and enter his fighting stance.

Piccolo closes his right fist and holds it in front of his chest and says with a smirk on his face "This is going to hurt a little bit, but rest assured I won't kill you"

'Not yet, but sooner or later you will interfere with my plans for world domination hahaha. And that's when I'll strike, and you will cease to exist!'

With that, Piccolo slightly clenches his left fist and sits there for a few tense moment, with which a storm starts to brew over the arena, which causes Krillin to become anxious and think

"What in the world is he gonna do?"

Then Piccolo fully extends his left arm backwards, fist now fully clenched before in a flash he throws it forward and stretches his arm across the arena and grabs Krillin before dragging him in for an overhand right which sends him soaring towards the wall beside the arena. However, Krillin quickly recovers and flips to land feet first on the wall and push back towards Piccolo with a war cry and preparing to attack with a left hook. Unfortunately for Krillin, while he was shocked by this move the Namekian opponent was too fast for Krillin to surprise like this and Piccolo drops to the ground and double leg boots Krillin into the sky.

Piccolo: "You should have quit!"

Piccolo then jumps into the sky after Krillin, wanting to end the fight once and for all.

Krillin stays in the air and holds his midsection. 'This'll be my last chance! I better make it count. Kame... hame...'

Just then, Piccolo appears behind Krillin with his fist cocked back for a heavy right hook.

Piccolo: "It's over Krillin!"

But before he could throw the punch Krillin quickly turns around with his hands cupped together and yells.

"HA!"

the sky is suddenly lit up with a brilliant blue hue, like someone set off 100 flash grenades at once. It seemed like the attack was a direct hit, apon closer inspection, once the light from the Kamehameha died down, the figure of Piccolo piccolo was a hazy body of light this entire time that quickly faded away, proving all Krillin hit was an after image.

Krillin: "huh? Where'd he go?!"

Goku: "Behind you Krillin! It's a trap!"

Piccolo: "Hmhmhm, looking for me

And just as goku said, Piccolo could be seen behind Krillin with his hands clasped over his head for a double axe strike. Krillin tried to turn around to defend himself but it was too late. With a harsh thrust down of his arms Piccolo crashed his hands down viciously onto Krillin's smooth head which sent him rocketing into the concrete of the arena floor.

With all of his willpower Krillin managed to sit up but not much more and so the announcer called the fight after a 10 second countdown

Anouncer: "AND THAT IS ALL FOR FOR KRILLIN, HE PUT UP A VALIANT EFFORT BUT UNFORTUNATELY HE JUST COUKDN'T STAND UP TO MAJUNIOR. LETS GIVE A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR OUR TWO AMAZING COMPETITORS LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!"

Goku quickly helps Krillin off the stage and to the rest of their friends and talk about Piccolo and the match in general.

Me: "Seems like so far me being here isn't changing anything, and it was nice to watch my favourite human fighter try his luck at taking out the current big bad guy of the time, I probably could have done it if he didn't keep getting piccolo to go all out he could have won, he has already become quite the strategist and that will help him take on opponents that are stronger than he is"

I look over at piccolo who is already back in the building waiting for his match in the semi finals with a look of... is that worry?

'Wow, Krillin may not have won but he sure did shake his confidence, I wonder how confident he is in his fight with goku because I am sure if he has all the memories of his father he will remember that tambourine one shot Krillin 3 years ago, so it must be unnerving to both see how far krillin has gone, then imagine how far goku has gone as well if Goku's growth is as good or better than Krillin's'

Announcer: "AND WITH THAT THE QUARTERFINALS COME TO A CLOSE WITH A DECISIVE WIN FOR SHEN, A TOTAL UNKNOWN IN THE MARTIAL ARTS COMMUNITY!"

Me: "Oh wow, I look away for a minute and the fodder gets destroyed by some scrub"

As I watch Shen walk away and him briefly making eye contact with me, I can't help but notice his energy feels both human and like mine and piccolos, then I realize.

'Wait Kami doesn't just show up randomly to seal Piccolo with the Mafuba, he possesses someone, likely it is Shen from the energy I am feeling, well at least Yamchan can say he didn't lose to fodder, Kami doesn't become fodder until Z starts'

Announcer: AND NOW WE SHALL TAKE A SMALL BREAK, PLEASE RETURN IN ONE HOUR FOR WHEN THE FIGHTS RESUME AGAIN!"

With that all the fighters and most of the audience leave to get food and to rest for the next fights, I however sat still and resumed my meditation thinking

'I can't wait for these next fights, things are about to get interesting'

And that's a chapter done and read to go, this one feels like a bit of a bigger chapter and the next 2 will be about the same size if not bigger.
