A/N The Waiting List

Alt title: Wait, you can do that?

.

I've been watching Hazbin Hotel! It's finally out! I love Alastor's voice. At first I didn't because the trailers really didn't do him justice. And Husker?

I simp for Husker.

.

So, viewer stats are back up. Wanna know the most viewed chapter aside from the first and most recent?

Ch. 46

There is a disproportionate amount of people viewing that chapter. Like, 500 this week. Whereas the chapters before and after don't even breach 200.

So, I checked it out to see what I did in that chapter to get everyone's attention.

It's the lemon chapter.

T4ndoris: Their will be blood. Should it ever get out to the wider public.

Also, saw your review on my Overlord fic. And it's been stuck in my head for days!

Casanova5424: IT WAS A CANON EVENT!

And yeah, the rant was mostly about the book. But a lot of the issues that were present in the book were carried over to the movie. I'dunno, I just don't like how unrealistic it is. I get it, it's fiction. But there's only so far I can hold my suspension of disbelief before the illusion falls apart.

As for VR? I'm not holding my breath.

DancingLeaf: It's okay, I made a long series. It's easy to forget some of it. Hell, one of the ways I remember and keep track of so much is your guys's reviews.

On the subject of mental tampering. I agree, while Kitsu doesn't have the most, conventional, moral compass. She still has one.

And Missy won't get to experience large fox Kitsu fluff, yet.

RadChaos897: *We interrupt your regularly scheduled broadcast to bring you, Coura-*

Wrong channel.

Silly reciprocated line aside. Case 53 is already a catch all for those with mutations caused by their powers.

Before it's pointed out. Not like Crawler. His mutation is the result of his power, but it was gradual.

[Conduit] can technically analyze any shard. And assimilate any power. But to do so would require rearranging Kitsu's Corona Gemma. And there is only so much they can add. That's why they have an interest in similar and compatible powers. It'd be easier to modify an existing power Kitsu has, than it would be to add another, unrelated power.

And Maureen's shard is, ironically. The [Warrior]'s [Conduit] shard. Remember, Kitsu's [Conduit] is not [Conduit]. It's [Manipulator]. Kitsu renamed it because she didn't like the implications the name gives.

This chapter is half Kitsu x Missy, half. Well you'll see.

Kitsu POV

.

"Thanks Stacy!" I say to the custodian as she steps out.

I wait a few seconds for her to leave.

"NEXT!" I shout.

I don't need to shout. There's an intercom for me to contact the front desk. But my room is also close enough to the lobby that I can be heard when I yell. And yelling is fun.

In a few seconds. Another person walks in. Towering over me at a height of six foot fuck you. Caucasian and dark haired. Male. Nothing seems wrong.

"Name?" I ask.

"Boris Kartocovich." A thick accent says. Something eastern European.

"Well, what's the issue?" I ask. "You seem fine."

He turns around, and I see it.

A line of dark, yellowish brown spikes going down his back. Like porcupine quills. All poking out the back of his torn shirt.

"Oh." I say. "Hand please."

He turns back around and gives me his hand. I look in see what's up.

Oooh!

"Gimme a second." I say. "I need a second opinion."

"What you mean, second opinion?" He asks. "You fix me. No?"

"No, not me." I say as I pull out my phone.

"Then who? Spikes already ruin shirt, ruin car, bus not accept me!" He says as I dial for Amy.

"Your English is very good." I say as I wait for Amy to pick up. Hoping to distract him.

"Ah, thank you little one." He says. "I've practice much."

Strike one! The number of people who can call me little without consequence is very short! Like me.

"What?" I hear Amy say tiredly.

"Unique biology." I say. "Thought you'd wanna check it out."

"This better be good." She says and hangs up.

.

.

"Okay, I'll admit, that's interesting." Amy says as she takes her hand off the guy.

"Told you!"

His entire immune system is cranked to the max! This guy could probably survive walking through a cloud of Nurgle poison and survive without so much as a rash.

I've been getting into Warhammer 40K. Tzeentch is my favorite chaos god. The whole, is the most powerful being ever and split his power to keep 'The Great Game' going I,s funny to me. Though, Slaanesh seems fun. The whole, 'Treat yourself to burger every now and then' to 'Cannibal torture porn' pipeline they present is interesting to read about.

And then there's granpapi Nurgle! Nuff said.

Anyway, his Spikes are actually condensed and hardened bacteria, toxins, excessive stuffs. His body is actively killing everything in him that could pose a threat to him. And is leaving all the good stuff alone.

Basically his whole body is a super strong kidney and is forming kidney stones out of his back.

"Out of curiosity." Amy says. "Where you somewhere, dirty, when you." She gestures to his spines.

"Yes, I am janitor at arcade." He says.

That explains why the spikes are so long.

"Well, good news and bad news." Amy says. "Which do you want first?"

"Bad. No need getting my hope up." He says.

"We can't stop them from growing. Or forming in the first place." Amy says.

"Gav no." He tsks. "Good news?"

"We can break them off and move some stuff around so that they're not growing out of your back." Amy says. "Put them somewhere more manageable."

"Slower?" He asks.

"Spikes not stop. Can break off, will keep coming back." I say in smaller terms. "Move from back to somewhere else. Easier to break when they grow."

"Ah!" He says with a nod.

"I do not miss this place." Amy says under her breath.

In the end, Amy ended up moving the pores and several other things around so that the spikes now grow out of his forearms. And gave him a hygiene routine to follow so that the spikes don't grow so quickly. That, took a while. Seeing as his written English is, passing.

Towards the end of the day however.

"LAST ONE! NEXT!" I shout.

And in walks, Madison with a man. With her fur back.

"It grew back!" She whines, her main color being blue. Her hair and zigzag patterns being lavender.

"I see that." I say. "Welp. Nothing I can do about that!"

"Nothing?" The man says calmly. "Nothing at all?"

"Unless you want me to remove her skin and replace it with someone else's." I say with a shrug. "Or completely sterilize her skin and turn her albino and bald."

"If that's what it takes then do it." He says as he crosses his arms.

"Dad!" Madison says. "We don't need to go that far!"

"Sweetie, if this is what it takes to get you back to normal then so be it." He says sternly. "The second option will do."

"I don't wanna be bald!" Madison cries as her fur turns orange with yellow stripes.

"Not only that but being albino comes with several health complications." I say matter of factly. "As it is now? She just needs to invest in some new shampoo. I can give some recommendations!"

"That won't be necessary." He says.

"Dad!" Madison cries out. "It's fine! I, I can learn to live with this."

"No, if there's a chance to get you fixed and not have you live as some, freak." He says in a, comforting? Voice. "Then we should take it."

'Fuck you too dude.' I think sourly.

"No offense." He says, quickly turning to me.

"No problem fatso." I say with a smile.

"Excuse me?" He says with a look of mild surprise.

"Oh, no offense." I say with mock sincerity. "See what I did there? Doesn't feel too good, does it?"

He may be stocky, but I wouldn't call him fat. I'm just proving a point.

"This is hardly professional etiquette." He says with a frown.

"And I'm not a professional." I say with a smile. "So it fits. Besides, I won't do it."

"Why the hell not!?" He raises his voice.

"Because she's clearly unwilling." I say. "You can't give her consent for her."

"As her father-"

"You can give consent for her if it's a life or death situation and she's incapable of giving a reasonable response." I say as I kick my legs under me. "She is in no danger, fully conscious, and capable of deciding for herself."

I think. I'm not actually sure how true that is. She is a minor.

"I want a second opinion." He says as he reels in his irritation.

"Sure thing, just head to the front desk and ask for doctor Michael McDoesn'tExist." I say. "The list of people who have any form ofauthority on this matter can be counted on one hand. And only two are available. It's not life or death so Panacea is out. And unless you wanna start getting into contact with villains, I'm your only hope."

We stare at each other for a while. Him glaring. Me not caring.

"We'll be back." He says as he walks out. "Madison, come on. We're going home."

She mouths a quick thank you before turning back around and following him out.

Well that was interesting.

.

.

"So yeah, I'mma be here a while." I say over the phone.

"When do you want it?" Parian asks with a sigh.

"Preferably in a few days." I say. "No rush. Oh, and send the bill to Amy Dallon."

"I'm not footing the bill to someone without their consent." Parian says.

"She owes me." I say simply. "Why do you think I'm the one dealing with the Case 53's?"

"If she doesn't pay, you're getting the bill." She says.

"Have you no faith?" I say in offense. "I've commissioned how many outfits? And when have I ever not paid you?"

"Fair enough." She says as she hangs up.

Perfect!

.

.

-Monday, July 5th, Medhal General Hospital, 9am-

.

.

I got through roughly thirty six people yesterday. That's thirty six, out of nearly four to five hundred.

This is going to be my life for the next few weeks.

"NEXT!" I yell, even though it's just my first patient.

A bit of stomping later. And in walks.

"Gully?" I ask the girl in pink overalls.

"Um, yeah, hi?" She says awkwardly.

"What are you doing here?" I ask.

"Well, I heard you were healing and fixing some of the issues from the whole, well the bomb." She says as she walks over to the patient bed and hops on it with a loud clang.

We both stare at the bed. Waiting.

"I think you're good. You were saying?" I say with a roll of my hand to motion her to continue.

"Can you fix me?" She asks plainly.

"Sure!" I say cheerfully. "Or, I can at least try." I say as I slide over on my swivel chair and grab her hand.

Oh, she has several bone and muscle mutations. She's far denser than she looks and the muscle growths are asymmetrical and disproportionate.

"Okay. So, I can do something about it." I say tentatively. "Whether or not you'll revert back is up in the air. But, I'mma have to put you under first."

"Why?" She asks.

"Because this will hurt otherwise." I say plainly.

"Well, okay then." She says. "Is there a paper I need to sign?"

"There probably should be." I admit. "But in all the chaos I think everyone collectively forgot about that in favor of a quick fix."

"Oh, um." She says. "Is there, anything I need to-"

"Nope!" I say and knock her out.

*Slam*

And she just hit her head on the back wall.

Probably should've had her lay down first.

My bad.

.

.

-30 Minutes Later-

.

.

That was, easier than expected. It was mostly a lot of rearranging things. Physically, not genetically. Fixed the hunchback, the under bite, the weird, sporadic skin growths. And the hardened larynx. So her voice should be better now.

Her hunchback was the result of a benign growth of muscle and skin on top of a bent spine. So she's a bit taller now. She's almost as tall as Neil. And about as muscular.

Though I'd put my money on her if it came down to an arm wrestle.

The skin growths are gone. I had to call someone about it and they explained they'll just put it with the amputations.

Because they have storage for that. Yeah, they all get cremated at regular intervals. So her skin lumps are going to be sitting on a shelf until next Tuesday. Which, all kinds of weird to think about.

Back to the girl who is a year or so older than me. Yet almost twice as tall.

She looks like a Hispanic Amazonian bodybuilder now. Basically a muscle mommy, as opposed to a rejected hunchback of Notre dame she was before.

Her muscles are still super dense. So much so that she won't be swimming, ever. And her skin is still thicker than it reasonably should. More akin to rhino hide than skin in some parts.

She could be passable as a non-Case 53, person. From a distance. Once you get close to her it becomes apparent she's not just tall and muscular.

I use my biokinesis and wake her up.

"Rmm?" She softly moans as she sits up. "Why does my head hurt?"

"Oh, that's my fault. I put you under and you clonked your head on the wall. Oops." I say with a shrug. "Anyway, I need to ask you a few quick questions. One, are you religious?"

"Um, no." She says, still dazed and confused. "Is, is this my voice?"

Yeah, her voice now just sounds like a deep feminine voice. Still gruff and deep. But at least you can tell she's a girl now.

Oh yeah, she wore pink all the time so that people could tell she was female.

"Yes. Now, are you in anyway spiritual?" I ask.

"No, can, can I get a mirror?" She asks.

"There are mirrors in the bathroom." I say as I roll over to the door and open it. "I know this seems like I'm rushing you. But that's because I am. There are more than four hundred people left and last I was told they're all taking up the lobby. So, please leave, I'll see you later."

The questions were for the growths. If she answered yes. Then I'd have to inform her of her, technically, amputated parts and offer them back to her.

Hospitals have so many rules!

Not that I follow most of them. But I like Gully.

Gully tentatively slides off the bed. And almost immediately falls over.

"Oh yeah, I fixed your spine so you're a good three inches taller. And I removed the skin and muscles growths so you're also a good fifty pounds lighter."

Still heavier than she looks. Not as heavy as Jenny I'd imagine. But still enough for her to have to check the weight limits of anything she uses.

She slowly hobbles out of the room. Likely still waking up and regaining her bearing's.

Just in case, I shoot a quick text to Jenny to come pick her up.

"NEXT!"

.

.

"I really don't see what the issue is." I say as I hold in a chuckle.

The guy across from me has invisible stripes and spots all over him. Like a mix between a jaguar and a tiger. You can see right through him in these spots.

"It's not funny!" He yells.

"That's a matter of opinion." I say. "Anyway, you seem to be on the lower end of the spectrum for issues. Why are you here?"

"I can see you right now." He says.

"Okay?" I say with a tilt of my head.

"My eyes have been closed the whole time." He continues.

"Oh, that, that makes more sense." I say as I realize the issue.

A quick rearranging of his skin's pigments later. And he can go home with functional eyelids that shut out light.

.

.

Next person, a boy with bones made of cartilage. Not much I could do other than restructure it to be more rigid.

.

.

Next was a little girl whose hair was replaced with green, teal, purple and blue feathers. All of her hair. A quick scan showed puberty was going to be extra uncomfortable.

Hint, crotch feathers.

Anyway, all I could do was modify the feathers to be thinner so as to better imitate hair. Overall she didn't seem to mind her mutation and thought it was pretty. And to be fair, it was.

She was six. Her mom died in the gas and her dad was unaffected. She, didn't understand. And her dad was just happy she wasn't as affected as she originally was.

.

.

Next was man with glow in the dark skin. Literally nothing I could do.

.

.

A woman with a lizard tail. It kept growing back. Nothing I could do.

She didn't seem to mind too much at least. Just complained about needing new pants and asked if I had any recommendations.

I told her Parian if she didn't mind the price.

.

.

Next was a girl with six arms. All fully functioning. Only they each had three fingers. I cut off the arms and reformed her hands.

Only for her to show up a few hours later with little nubs regrowing her extra arms. So I just reformed the hands. So, she now has six arms with fully functioning hands.

.

.

A boy with digitigrade legs.

Reformed. Though the tendon, muscular, and bone structure is different from a regular persons. I just made them look and function like a normal pair of legs. Convergent evolution if you would. Even if that makes no sense the moment you actually think about it.

.

.

A man with tentacles instead of hair on his head. All fully movable.

Nothing I could do other than rearrange their texture and make them look like dreads.

.

.

A girl with shark teeth. Any attempt to remove them saw them immediately grow back. Like, faster than reasonably possible. I'm talking Arlong from the anime fast. And it was taking a toll. I could see her body ripping nutrients from her to remake the teeth. And her mouth was a bloody mess. Literally. She kept biting herself by accident.

So, I just made her lips and tongue more tear resistant so she would stop ripping apart her mouth by accident. And modified her back teeth to be more rounded and flat to imitate molars.

Anything further, and her teeth would pop themselves out and regrow as sharpened teeth again.

.

.

"NEXT!" I yell.

Yelling is fun.

It takes a few moments. But a girl with greenish skin and greenish brown hair is carted in on a gurney. A nurse and two other adults escorting her in.

"Name?" I ask.

"Alicia King." The woman says.

"Okay, just tell what you think is important." I say as I touch her hand.

"She's unconscious, and green." The man says.

"Anything I can't literally see for myself." I say as I start.

Her biology is, way too familiar for me. And it's actively pissing me off.

"There isn't anything to tell." The woman says as the nurse steps out.

"How about if she was awake before coming in?" I ask.

"No." She says.

Let's try this again.

"Was she awake, yesterday?" I ask.

"Yes." The man says.

'Motherfucking, piss pot, fudge fucking albatrosses!' I rage in my head. 'Remember how stupid the average person is, and realize that half of all people are dumber Kitsu.'

"That's important." I say as I try not to hurt someone. "You know what, just tell me everything you noticed from start to finish."

"Well, after the gas explosion. She called us in a panic. Both her parents, didn't survive the gas." The woman says. "We're her aunt and uncle. When we got her, we kind of panicked over the, you know. And we had her stay in the guest room until we could figure something out. But, she kept getting more and more tired. And was eating less. Kept complaining about the food being tasteless. Her hair was vibrant green when we picked her up. Now it's almost a mulchy green, brown."

"We kept trying everything. And then we heard you were fixing the mutations and we thought we'd stop by. Then, she just, passed out and wouldn't wake up." The man finishes.

"So, you locked her in a room. And didn't seek professional help until it was absolutely necessary." I point out.

I know I seem a little, judgy here. But it'd for a good reason.

"Look, we had a lot on our plates. Still do. We came here to get my sister's daughter the help she needs." The woman gripes. "Can you help her or not?"

"No, I can't." I say honestly. "I can tell you what's wrong with her as I call someone who can though."

"Well what is it?!" The man demands.

"She's a vegetable." I say as I pull my phone out and dial Amy.

"That's not funny!" The yells as her face burns red.

"I wasn't joking." I say. "She's literally a human plant. The reason she's unconscious? She's not comatose, she's dormant. She doesn't need cheap microwave meals, she needs sunlight and actual nutrition."

"Well how were we supposed to know that!?" The man says.

Our back and forth continued for a bit until Amy got there.

Nothing I could do. And Amy couldn't do much other than make her metabolism more efficient.

Her aunt and uncle took her home. She'll need a room with grow lights for the rest of her life. She can move around outside no problem. But where regular people need on average eight hours of sleep to function properly. She'll need eight hours of uninterrupted photosynthesis to function properly.

.

.

Madison and her dad came in again.

They left when I called Amy and she told them to fuck off.

I think her dad is the one taking the most issue with his daughters mutation.

I'm being sarcastic.

.

.

Those were the highlights.

Something all the mutations have in common. Is a resistance or immunity to being removed. They can be modified. But any attempt to remove. Only sees them growing back. Or just, not being removed.

So far that's the only thing they all have in common.

.

.

-Tuesday July 6th, Medhal General Hospital, 9:20am-

.

.

How the fuck did Amy do this for an entire year!?

It's been two, days! And I'm already starting to get sick of this place. This is my summer vacation goddamnit!

"NEXT!" I yell.

In walks a girl hidden in a hoodie.

"Name?" I ask.

She removes the hood to reveal Madison.

"Go home." I say immediately.

"No wait!" She says as she puts her hands out. "I, was wondering if you could do me a favor."

I should probably say no. But I'm both too tired to care about etiquette and professionalism. Not that cared all that much before. And I'm genuinely intrigued.

"You have my attention." I say as I cross my arms and tilt my head up to look down at her.

It doesn't work. So I quickly raise the chair so that I can.

"Well, so, real quick. My dad's at work and doesn't know I'm here." She says quickly.

"The point." I say.

"I want to be like you!" She blurts out.

"And now you have my interest." I say and lean forward mysteriously. "Elaborate, and tell me why."

Her fur turns purple with pink dots.

'Oh don't tell me she's also a furry?!' I whine to myself.

I've read her fanfics!

"Well, you see. Emma really likes you and how cute you are." She starts. "And, well, I just thought that since she can't have you as a friend. That her second best friend could be a good substitute."

Liar.

"You want her to fawn over you like she does me." I correct.

"What?! No!" She starts denying. Her fur turning pink with red spots. "I just, want to give my best friend a treat for being, well, my best friend."

"Uh, huh." I say, completely unconvinced.

"So how are you gonna explain this to dear old daddy?" I ask. "Also, what's with him?"

"Um, mom, mom was with me when, everything happened." She says. Her fur turning a deep, full blue.

Oh.

"And, well, she was fine." Madison says, slightly cracking up. "But, in the panic. She, well, she."

Fuck it. The sympathy pitch got me.

"You're good." I say. "So, what we talkin 'bout here? Tail, eyes, ears. Whatcha want?"

She perks up. Her fur turning yellow with orange zigzags.

This is honestly trippy to watch.

She said she'd tell everyone she woke up that way this morning. And came here in a panic but there was nothing to be done.

.

.

Lunch time!

As I hop off the chair. The door opens.

"Lunch time." I say. "Come back, Missy!"

I rush forward and glomp my in costume, likely on duty, girlfriend. She hugs me back and we nuzzle.

I sniff the air a bit. Recognizing a familiar scent.

I push off her, holding her by her shoulders.

"You brought me sushi?!" I ask with a smile.

"It was supposed to be a surprise." She says with a small frown.

"Powerful nose." I say dismissively before reaching for the bag in her hand. "Now gimme!"

She holds it up and away from me.

"Ah!" She says with a teasing smile. "This is to share."

"What if I say please?" I ask. Returning a teasing smile.

"Hmm, depends on how you ask." She says as she steps forward.

She's already a good half head taller than me. Side to side her nose is above mine.

"Pwetty pwease?" I say as I dilate my eyes and lean forward into her. Putting my clasping hands together as I look up to her. "I worked so hard today! I just wanna taste."

She stares at me with a rapidly reddening face.

I know how to work what I got!

"Um, I, I uh, um, here!" She says and shoves the bag into my arms.

"Thank you!" I say as I take the bag and open it.

'Oooh! Desert sushi!' I think happily. 'Four packs!'

I turn to take a seat back in my spinny chair and pop open one of the containers.

It smells, okay. It's just store boug-

"Eep!" I squeal as Missy hugs my tail.

"Sho fwuffy!" She squeals into my fur as she rubs her face against it.

"Hey!" I say as I turn myself to try and face her. "That's mine!"

"Consider it payment for the sushi." Missy says with smugness in her voice.

"I never agreed to these terms!" I say as I turn more, but she keeps sidestepping.

Somehow, we ended up in the swivel chair with me in Missy's lap.

"There, much better." Missy says as she wraps her arms around my waist.

"For you." I say as I pop open the sushi.

"Oh, is it not enough that your girlfriend is spending her lunch break with you?" She asks as she rests her chin on my shoulder.

"I can get sushi anytime I want." I say as I carefully open a soy sauce packet and disable my sense of smell. "This just makes it seem like you're only interested in my body."

"Well I can't have that." Missy says and moves me in her lap to sit sideways as she takes my sushi from me.

"Hey!" I say as I reach for it.

"Ah, ah, aaaah!" She teases as I reach higher.

The moment I lean up.

"Mrm!" I moan in surprise.

Missy comes down and kisses me. Resting an arm under my head as she uses it to keep my head propped up.

"There." She says as she comes back up, still semi-cradling me.

"Th, that just" I start before she puts the sushi roll in my mouth.

"There." She says with a smirk. "You get your kisses, cuddles, and your sushi. While I get my cute little girlfriend blushing. I think that's more than fair."

'Why!?' I scream internally.

Everyone sees Missy as the shy one. But that's just a front! The moment doors close she gets all cool and suave and confident. It's not fair!

And I love it.

I love that it's a side only I get to see. And that her shyness around others is because of me.

"That's, you." I try, but my heart is beating to hard for me to focus.

"This is me." She says. "And this is me about to kiss you again."

"Huh?" I numbly say as I register it.

Right before she leans in and steals a kiss.

Why is she so good at kissing? So soft and warm. I let myself melt into this one. It lasts a few seconds. A few seconds that feels both deceptively long, and agonizingly short.

We part and she smiles at me. Bringing her hand that isn't held down by my head up the brush a few strands of hair out of my face.

"There, now you can have your sushi." She says.

I forgot all about that.

.

.

Missy "Vista" Biron POV

.

This is perfect. My little snuggle bug is in my arms. Blushing, trying to hide behind her tail. But there's no hiding that adorable shyness.

She teases and toys with me all the time. But something I've learned is that she can't take what she dishes out.

And it's awesome!

I just love it! The way someone so strong and powerful becomes so, not. In my arms.

To say nothing of her looks. I'm not interested in her body. Ok that's a lie. She rides a middle ground of cute and beautiful that I just love. And that middle ground shifts with her attitude.

Like right now? Adorable. Her wide, bright blue-green eyes. Her beet red blushing face. The way her ears are splayed back. Her arms holding her tail to her chest as she peeks up at me over it.

To say nothing of the plump and soft booty in my lap.

I just love it.

Is this how she feels when she teases me? If so then I can forgive her for it. She's just going to have to get used to me returning the favor.

*Rm*

The comms on my visor goes off.

"Yo Vista, ya done sucking face with your girlfriend?" Dennis asks.

Kitsu quickly grabs the visor from my face and presses one of the small buttons on the side.

"You ruined a moment!" She yells into a visor.

I take the visor back with a pointed glare. Putting it back on I press the comms button and speak into it.

"I'm about wrapped up here Clock." I say as I look at the girl cradled in my lap. She at least has the decency to look somewhat ashamed.

Though, sheepish, is a better word.

"Pfft, oh, okay." He says as I hear him struggle not to laugh.

I'm not hearing the end of this anytime soon.

"Well, my lunch break is up." I say as I motion for her to get up.

"But, but." She says as she gives me puppy dog eyes.

"Yes, your butt. As much as I love it, I need you to move it." I say.

"So you like my butt?" She gives me a vulpine grin.

'SHIT I SAID THAT OUT LOUD! ABORT! ABORT!' I panic.

"Well this has been fun love you see you later bye!" I say as I quickly stand up and warp the door to me, open it, before warping the hall to an inch and stepping into the lobby and walking quickly past Dennis who's hitting on a nurse.

"I mean, hero in the streets, villain in the sheeiiiit!" He says as I vent my embarrassment by kicking his shin. "The fuck was that for!?"

"To keep you from getting a harassment charge!" I say as I grab his arm and pull him away from the nurse who mouths a thank you. "And you didn't have a chance. She's like, twenty."

"Nineteen! There was a chance!" He says indignantly.

"Not a legal one." I say, thankful for the distraction. "Who're you trying to get in trouble? You, or her?"

"I, you! Fine you damn rules lawyer." He mutters.

At least he seems to have forgo-

"Oh yeah, did you get your extra your extra kisses in?" He teases.

*Dong*

Oops. I accidently activated my power and bent a parking sign to smack Dennis in the face.

My bad.

Kitsu POV

.

The next week continued pretty much the same. Me fixing Case 53's. And calling Amy whenever I couldn't. A good ninety percent of them were like the girl with shark teeth or the boy with digitigrade legs. Minor things that just required little tweaking. There were some that were really interesting. Like the plant girl or the guy who was collecting pollutants from around him and forming spikes on his body with them.

But those were few and far between.

Madison and her dad showed up. Again.

I called Amy over and texted her the situation. And they were forced to leave. Again. And told that if they harassed us one more time that they'd be blacklisted from Medhal. No one wants Panacea so pissed off she stops showing up altogether.

But the days were mostly the same. With Missy coming by when she could to share our lunches together. Her teasing me and making the hospital stays worth it. Outside of Amy owing me of course.

Kitsu POV

.

"Missy." I say through a giggle. "I'm trying to eat."

"And I'm trying to cuddle." She says as she nuzzles her head into my shoulder and neck. "I need to recharge my mental batteries. And nothing does that better than loving my snuggle bug."

She's extra cuddly today. Just, came in and immediately grabbed onto me.

"Did something happen?" I ask as I take a bite of my sandwich. "You're acting a bit, clingy."

Not that I mind clingy. But it's a bit out of character for her.

She stays silent for a bit. Not saying anything. Not even nuzzling me anymore. Just sitting there in silence.

"It's nothing." She says quietly as she holds me tighter. "I'm fine."

'Okay, that's where I draw a line.' I think protectively.

Anytime someone says they're fine and don't follow it up with a reason. They're most likely not fine.

So plan in motion, I wrap my sandwich back up. Hop out of her lap and place it near the sink in the room.

"Kitsu?" Missy questions as she gets up. "Is someth-eep!"

She squeals as I pick her up out of the chair and cradle her. Mom's been feeding me light spears twice a day to make up what I lost in the blizzard. So I have plenty of energy.

Speaking of. It's, kinda gone. There's a massive ice plate the government is trying to keep from moving before it can melt. And it's still pretty big. Not to mention it's made the bay unnaturally chilly for this time of year.

I hear Fire has been frequenting it to help melt it more. Which is causing mists to form over the bay.

At least it's giving us time to repair the ferry. Again. There was a lot of insulation, wiring and piping that suffered in the cold. Or at least the part that got touched by the mist. The dents and rips in the hull notwithstanding. Those are cheap to repair by comparison.

Thankfully there's been little damage to our reputation. Turns out having a full on villain attack and only losing one life, is great publicity. Lets everyone know we mean business. And that even a full villain attack couldn't dent us.

Back to now!

I sit my blushing girlfriend on the patient's bed, should really learn what they're called, and set her head in my lap.

"Um, what are you-" She starts.

"Shhh." I say soothingly as I stroke her hair. "My turn."

"Um, what?" She asks in confusion.

"Tell me what's wrong." I say.

She stares up at me. And I'm honestly tempted to use my love me power to try and get her to open up.

"It's, my parents." She says softly as she looks away. Turning to look at my stomach.

Turns out it's not needed!

"What happened?" I ask.

"They, they're getting a divorce. Officially." She says. "I overheard mom telling one of her friends over the phone. Bragging about keeping the house."

"Weren't they kinda separated already?" I ask as I continue to run my fingers through her hair.

"Yeah but, it, it's different." She says softly. "Like, before there was always a chance. For, I don't know. It, it just feels, like it's final. Done, over. No more chances."

I don't know what to say to that.

"I mean, they're not the best parents." She says.

'And Behemoth has a kill count that's above average.' I think sarcastically.

"But, I still remember happier times together." She says. "Going to the park, movies, family events. They still argued all the time. But"

She leaves the sentence unfinished. And I get it.

"You were still a family." I say. "And now it feels like you're not."

She starts sniffing as she holds back tears.

"You can cry." I say as I move some hair away from her eyes. "I won't judge."

"Don't wanna." She says stubbornly. "What kind of hero cries?"

"The kind that's still human." I say.

I try and think of something more profound. But I'm failing. So, I fall back onto plan B.

"Come on, crying is good for you." I say teasingly. "What, are you scared of ruining your makeup? Trust me when I say you don't need it."

That gets a smile out of her. And a small puff of laughter.

"I don't wear makeup." She says.

"Well, not yet." I say.

"Huh?" She asks as she looks up at me.

I shift us around and hold her face closer to kiss her. Pulling away, I smile at her blushing face, and slightly redder lips.

"There, now you're wearing makeup." I say deviously. "I think it looks good on you."

I wear lipstick. And sometimes I'll wear eyeliner. Eye shadow too if I'm feeling fancy. I really like the eyeliner though. I have twelve different kinds and I love the way they make my eyes pop!

Back to my girl!

She looks at me for a few long seconds before she starts laughing.

"Pfft, pah hah hah, hah!" She shakes as she gives out a melodic laugh. "That, that was so stupid!"

"Stupid huh?" I say with a grin.

I go in and kiss her again. And again, and again. A different spot each time. Smearing my lipstick all over her cheeks.

"Kitsu, Kitsu!" She giggles as she tries to push me away. "I have work, work I need to, to go back to after this! I can't patrol with, with this!"

She's laughing and giggling as I continue.

"Don't care!" I say and plant a final smooch on her lips. Wiggling and rubbing our lips together as I get my point across. "MWAH!"

She busts out laughing again. Her face red from a mix of my lipstick, her lack of breath, and her blush.

"Yo Vista, lunch's over. You good?" I hear Vergil say in her visor.

I go to grab the visor and tell him to buzz off. Before Missy smacks my hand back. Glaring at me as she talks into her comms.

"Yeah, just give me a second to clean up my mess." She says and then turns to me. "No touching the visor. I can get in a lot of trouble if that gets broken or damaged."

"You know, you'd look a lot more intimidating if it weren't for the lipstick smeared all over your face." I point out.

"And whose fault is that?" She asks rhetorically.

"Yours for being too kissable." I say with a smirk.

She stares at me before hopping of the bed.

"You're lucky I don't have time." She says as she makes her way to the sink.

"Oh?" I say as I lay down on my stomach, head in my hands as I kick my feet behind me. "Why's that?"

She finishes washing her face off before turning around to me. And suddenly I'm face to face with her as she grabs mine. Smooshing our lips together as she moves her hands up the scratch my ears while kissing me. I close my eyes and let her do her thing.

I, love it, when Missy takes charge and gets aggressive. I can just melt in her arms. Though I don't get long to enjoy this kiss as I hear the door open.

I open my eyes as Missy separates from me and closes the door behind her. The door, sink, and bed I'm on all moving back to their original positions.

She took my sandwich.

Firebreather POV

.

And that's my daily quota for melting.

I fly up and over the newly formed mist. Last time I tried to fly out without making sure I knew where I was going, I ended up at the rig.

Breaking through the fog. I'm facing the ocean. So I turn around just in time for someone to wrap their arms around me.

Startled, I nearly blast them with my fire, before realizing it's Crystal. Her blonde head on my chest.

I hold her back as I relax.

"Hey babe." I say as I stroke her hair while we float up here just above the mist. "What's up?"

"Hm, us right now." She says cheekily. "Mrm, god you're so warm."

"Yeah, you've mentioned that." I say with a chuckle. "Also, that joke was terrible."

"Hmm. Don't care~" She says in a singsong tone.

We stat here and hold each other in the air for a bit longer.

"Seriously though, what's up?" I ask again.

"Oh, not much." She says. "Got done filling out applications. Met with Gully, she's been over the roof lately over her new looks. Saw you out here doing your thing and just thought, you know what would be fun?"

I know that tone. And I feel my pants tighten in response.

"Rm, well at least you have the right idea." She says as she looks up with a smirk. "That's good."

Something I've learned is that Crystal is insatiable. Don't get me wrong. Our relationship isn't wholly based around sex. We go out, have fun. Family friendly fun. Movies, camping, picnics.

I literally just listed off the events of our last five dates.

But Crystal has a hair trigger. And I'm not talking temper. Though she does get heated.

We've done it in her room. On her bed. In the shower, in the woods, on top of a roof, in a bathroom stall. We've been active for a month. And I've been active with her at least three times a week.

"Um, what did you have in mind?" I ask nervously as she rubs herself up and down on me.

She gives me a knowing smile as she snakes a hand down and frees my member from my pants.

"Crystal!" I hiss. "We're in public!"

"Exactly." She says as she pulls me back down into the mist. "And yet, no one will see us."

.

.

Crystal "Laserdream" Pelham POV

.

It's more than a little chilly here. But this is the best chance I'm going to get. It's sunset, and there's a thick fog covering us.

I'm joining the mile high club tonight bitches! Woo!

.

.

-15 minutes later-

.

.

"Heuurgh." I vomit out to ice below us.

"There, there." Fire says as he pats my back and pulls his pants up.

You know? I thought living out my number one sexual fantasy would be AMAZING!

Instead I had to get motion sick.

Fuck my life.

Emma Barnes POV

.

"Okay Mads, what's with the secrecy?" I say as I have my eyes closed.

"Well, you remember the gas bomb?" She asks.

"You mean the one where your mom got trampled and broke her arm?" I ask. "You said she was fine."

"She is. But, well." Maddie trails off. "You know how several people got turned into Case 53's?"

"Yeah?" I say. "Oh my gosh! Don't tell me she has like, spider eyes or something now! Wait, is she in the room? Oh my gosh! I did not mean it like that!"

I swear I'm not racist!

"Just open your eyes." Maddie says.

I do so and open them to see her room. Covered in books and Earth-Aleph anime. Her book shelf and dvd case being the only things she keeps clean. And locked.

And then I see, her. Sitting on the bed.

Pink furred, tall ears, long fluffy tail. Purple stripes everywhere. She's in a tank top and basketball shorts.

"Oh, my, God." I say as I take it in.

Her ears are shorter than Kitsu's, and her tail isn't as fluffy. But she's so, so, sooooo.

CUTE!

"Yeah, at first it was just the fur, then a few days later, this happened." She says as her tail flicks and her ears twitch. "Dad was, less than happy."

"Forget that!" I shout and hop on the bed next to her. "Maddie, I never ask you for anything. You know that."

Her fur changed. Holy shit it changes! She's pink with yellow zig zags!

Ah!

"Um, mostly. I mean, you still owe me fifty bucks." She says.

"What's a little cash between friends?" I say with a roll of my eyes. "Anyway! You need to let me pet you!"

She turns completely purple! With a few dots of pink here and there. But still! She changes.

"I mean, I'm not sure that's-"

"Please!" I beg. "I will love you forever!"

It looks so soft!

"If it means that much to you." She says with a shrug as her dots get larger and go from pink to yellow. "Then sure!"

Yes!

A/N

I know I said I'd do a part where Mechanic has Maureen's body and only just realizing she's dead. But we had enough deppression last time. I thought we needed some Kitsu x Missy as a pallet cleanser for the sads.

.

Gav no is Russian for shit.

.

On the Asmongold's furry scale, Kitsu is a 1. Not furry. With her extra fur active, she's a 1.5

Lyra (Rachel) is a 3. Furry.

Madison, is a 2. Semi furry. Though she's closer to a 1.8. She had fur, ears, and a tail. But no furry proportions. Normal human face, hands, legs, feet. All that.

.

I imagine Gully to look like Andrea Shaw or Irene Andersen in the face now that the benign growths she would hide with her hair are gone.

.

And Madison was NEVER upset about the mutation. She was acting the whole time.

Especially the part about her mom. She was exaggerating and playing it up to make it seem like her mom was one of those killed in the panic. All to garner sympathy from Kitsu.

In reality. She did get trampled. But like Emma said. She just broke her arm.

Hey, the sympathy pitch worked. She's now a neko.

QUESTIONS!

.

FOR NEWB!

RadChaos897: Less of a question and more of a suggestion: if you haven't seen Fate Samurai Remnant, I highly recommend it.

Newb: I'll put it on my watch list.

Spelloyal: With almost 500 people sharing the same passenger, shouldn't his energy run out quickly? What happens to them if the passenger runs out and dies?

Newb: In regards to the energy issue, it heavily depends and is different from case to case. The energy consumption is very, very low due to the powers all being one off mutations. They're not actively doing anything to expend the shard's energy. The change is, or at least was, the power. And as for the energy running out? They'll all be stuck like that.

As for what happens when a shard runs out of power? Don't know. That's not really explored in the canon series. I'd assume that the powers just, stop working.

.

FOR [Conduit]!

.

FOR KITSU!

Casanova5424: What would be a fun world for Maureen to have been isekai'd to? I think Pokémon as an ice master would be cool now that I'm thinking about it.

Kitsu: Frozen.

RadChaos897: Due to a certain Baalbuddy comic dub I watched on Youtube called "imagine the smell" that explains why owning a pet fox (much more a fox girl gf) isn't really a good idea, that got me wondering a few things. How much of you is fox? At least physically, I know you're not genetically human enough to have babies and you have fox-like behaviors, but what else about you is less human and more fox?

Kitsu: I DON'T SMELL! As for the rest, that's personal!

RadChaos897: If you were to put yourself on a scale, how furry would you be? There's a "Furry Scale" meme that goes kemonomimi to literally an animal, I'd put you between kemonomimi and kinda furry with the addition of your face stripes and Eevee-like neck floof. I still think you're cute either way.

Kitsu: I'd put myself as a 1.5 at most.

And stop! You're gonna make me blush!

RadChaos897: Why is your tail so fluffy?

Kitsu: Combination of good genetics, a good hair care routine, and some cheating with my biokinesis here and there.

RadChaos898: Can you change your eyes into spirals and hypnotize people?

Kitsu: I can turn them to spirals. But it REALLY messes with my vision. But I can't hypnotize people doing that. Closest I could do is activate my love me power.

RadChaos897: what if Missy decided she was straight and you had to permanently turn yourself into a boy to keep your relationship with her?

Kitsu: I'd break up with her. I'd be depressed for a bit. But my number one turn off is people not being attracted to me. And I wouldn't change who I am just for someone else's approval.
