A/N Schemes and Scenes
Alt title: A brewing Storm
.
Posting the day before singles awareness day. May not have been the best choice for my review count.
Oh well.
.
Big thanks to Casanova5424 and RadChoas897 for helping me out with this chapter and ideas moving forward.
.
T4ndoris: It will be EPIC!
DancingLeaf: I genuinely considered that. I thought of having it as a, here's Vicky if Mark and Carol waited to have her instead of having her at eighteen. But I thought that'd be, a little too much. Like, I'm all for multiverse variants. But Kitsu being a multiverse version of Vicky felt too obvious.
And Kitsu's orangish golden blonde hair, actually matches the description of Lightstar's red blonde better than Vicky's pure blonde. A minor thing, but still something. And Vicky has blue eyes she inherited from her mother, Kitsu has blue-green eyes that are a mix of both parents.
And thanks! I tossed that fur bait joke in kinda last minute. So I'm glad some people found it funny.
And yes! I actually looked it up and found all the violations that Armsmaster committed with that one act!
Vandalism or Property Damage: Obvious.
Endangerment or Reckless Endangerment: The sabotage definitely could've put Kitsu in harms way.
Aggravated Assault: It was intended to hurt.
Hate Crime or Disability Discrimination: Seeing as the sabotage targeted a disability specifically.
Criminal Mischief: the intentional destruction or impairment of property.
And that's WITHOUT taking into account her age. With her age taken into account you have.
Child Abuse: Obvious.
Child Endangerment with Enhancements: the enhancements part just allows the courts to tack on extra charges and stipulations for endangering a child.
Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor with Enhancements: If the sabotage put Kitsu in dangerous situation, then this could be tact on as well.
Aggravated Assault or Attempted Murder: when it comes to acts against minors, it doesn't take a lot for the courts to upgrade aggravated assault to attempted murder. Seeing as children are (typically) weaker and more defenseless than adults. A grown man punching another man in the gut, is a lot different than a grown man punching a child in the gut.
Child Neglect or Failure to Provide Care: this could be tact on, because Armsmaster was openly contributing to the construction of the hearing aides. He took on the responsibility to assist in making them. Making him responsible for the service they provided.
I have a lawyer friend. He said he'd need to know the specifics to say more, but based on the basic info of "Sabotaged hearing aides meant for a minor" these are what would apply.
Redburndragon: Let's be honest. Most of the people in Worm need therapy.
And I love the dynamic Ed and Al had. They were both hyper intelligent. With Ed being the proactive, ambitious, arrogant one, and Al being the calm, reactive, humble one. I just hope I can capture their personalities well enough.
Kaykaykaykayan: Don't feel too bad! My dad plays COD and his beat KDR was a 15.7
I know that specifically because he screenshot it to me. Sent me recording of one of his best matches where the end timer started and he got six kills in ten seconds. I just run around an shoot T-T
Also, I'm not doing a redemption for Purity. More of a, Edward is using her to help destroy the Empire 88. She's always been a bad person. She's just, more casually racist. Like, she's the kind to keep side eyeing a black guy at walmart and then tell security to keep an eye on him for being suspicious. Not like Stormfront who'll openly murder a black guy for being black.
Rnlee: More you get!
RadChaos897: Something fierce indeed!
The Boston games started up because the PRT arrested several key villains in too short of a timespan. Creating a power vacuum. And in all of history, a power vacuum has never once been good for society. (At least as far as I know)
It's one of the reasons Carol is so quick to limit Kitsu's movements. She knows. She was there. And Kitsu dismantling gangs one by one out boredom was only ever going to lead to a power struggle. They saw a minor one when Skidmark died and they arrest Squealer, Trainwreck, and Porcupine. But luckily Scarecrow took over quickly enough and the Merchants never had a lot of valuable territory in the first place.
But now they're down a sixth of their manpower, the Empire lost two of their capes, Lung is laying low because he doesn't want to accidently piss off Kitsu and start a fight he might not win, and now Kaiser is out of the picture.
Also, word of advice. Evil laugh? Start out as a low chuckle and work your way up. Only let the maniacal part last a few seconds. You want the chuckle to be longer, with the length of the laugh decreasing with the tempo. Makes you seem unhinged and quick to flare, while also being in control just enough to unsettle people in double thinking.
Casanova5424: Nice! I just have a small 10x10 room to my name. An I make it work.

Kitsu POV
.
*Knock* *Knock* *Knock*
My eyes shoot open at the sound. Chris is still working on my hearing aides, so everything is still at an eleven out of ten on the sound scale. Making the knocking, sound as though it's from my door. Which it's not. Missy is under me and my door is open.
That and I've lived with this for years. I can tell distance even if it's louder in comparison. To what I've had for the last few months.
It's the neighbors house that's being knocked on by the way.
*Bump* … *Bump* … *Bump*
I ignore the knocking in favor of Missy's slow, rhythmic heartbeat.
The last few days had me really worried. But then I was reminded that bail was a thing and that so long as the judge doesn't deem Max a flight risk, we'll be fine. For now.
Our plan is to wait for bail to be posted and then systematically target the E88's structures. Their rings, their rackets, drug labs. While I and a few others target the capes. Dismantling the gang as Max gets put away.
Mom saw the evidence on YouTube. So long as that wasn't all of the evidence, then Max will be put away for quite a while.
Here's just hoping that he's never did anything in the past to be considered a flight risk!
And so, I fall back asleep on my favorite body pillow. Nice and warm, soft, smells good. And comes with its own white noise maker!
Night night.

-9am-
.
.
"And we're rollin with a group called the fuckin' Saints." My avatar says. "Names don't mean shit, Shaundi."
I proceed to use the penetrator to beat the green colored gang members.
"What the hell is this?!" Mom asks as she walks in with dad.
Knew I wouldn't get to enjoy this for long.
"Saints Row Two!" I say as I shove the penetrator up a prostitutes ass. "It's funny! And oddly accurate in some regards."
What? Have you ever been to a drug den? Or a gang thugs hideout? That's what I thought.
The seedier parts of Chicago get wild!
"No." She says as she walks over and takes the disk out. "You are not playing this."
"Why?!" I whine.
"Do you even know what you were using to beat people with in that game?" Mom challenges with a raised brow.
"A bigger version of the thing Vicky keeps under her bed." I answer.
Mom gains a slight blush and Dad goes beet red.
"Could've gone the entirety of my existence without that knowledge." Dad says under his breath.
"Grow up Mark." Mom whispers to him. "Kitsu, do we need to have the talk?"
"What talk?" I ask.
Her and Dad share a look before turning back to me. Clearly awkward, but resolute.
"Kitsu, do you know where babies come from?" She asks.
"Do you want the child friendly version, the clinical version, or the blunt version?" I ask.
"Blunt." She says.
"Sex." I answer.
"Okay, then you should know what that was." Mom says.
I, may have backed myself into a corner here.
Good thing Missy went home earlier. Otherwise this would be a lot more awkward. I don't think she's had the talk yet outside of the basic, your body will start changing.
"I mean, I doubt it could be used for its original purpose, but yes." I say.
"Yeah, you're not playing this." She says. "I don't even remember buying this, where'd you get it?"
"Eric left a bunch of games over the last time they were here." I tell here. "Oh! Can I get Call of Duty Black Ops!?"
"Is it like this?" She asks as she holds up the disk.
"It has guns, that's about it." I say. "It's a first person shooter!"
She stares at me. Blinking as she awaits further explanation.
"I'll just show you." I say as I rummage through the cabinet of the entertainment stand.
.
.
"Aimbotting whore!" I get called as I laugh.
"No way, no fucking way this bitch got the nuke in less than a minute." Another says. "there's SIX of us and a respawn of fifteen seconds."
"Bruh, I'm not killing one guy every fifteen seconds." I say. "You guys just don't know how to coordinate to stay separate and behind cover."
"Bullshit!"
"Say that to my face!"
"Ooh! Burn!"
"If this were real I'd fill you with more holes than a brothel!"
"Hey kid, I sent you a friend invite."
"Suck my balls!"
"Got called out by a squeaker. Damn!"
"Guys chill, they're clearly trolling."
"What? No I can't pause it. It's live, no I can't ask everyone to wait! It's timed!"
I don't think those last two were for me.
"This is normal?" Mom asks.
"Only when they get insecure about being out performed by a little girl." I answer.
"You can play." Mom says and I smile up at her. "But! If I ever hear you talking like, that? Gone."
"Deal!"
"Alright, anyways, I got a call from The Rig. Kid Win finished your hearing aides and Pigot has a few things she wants to talk to me about." Mom says. "I'll be back in an hour or two. You're, technically in charge until Mark gets back. So, behave until then."
"Alright!" I say. "I'll just be here making more grown men cry!"
.
.
-1 hour later-
.
.
I have Kratos in front of me in a large hamster ball. He's mostly been relaxing in place. He's lazy like that. Unless there's food.
He's just all, head empty. No thought. Just munch.
"Where do you live?" He asks. "Tell me right now so I can spank you so hard your mother will call me daddy."
"Eh, I've heard that one." I say. "How about this, you play an FPS like a side scroller."
"That doesn't make any sense!" He shouts back.
"It makes as much sense as your gameplay." I say, happy he took the bait.
"Ooh shit!"
"Damn kid."
"He's out! Burn!"
"Tactical nuke in the lobby!"
(K1ll3rb33st has left the game)
"She nuked him out of existence!"
"All hail ToyFoxy!"
I love this game.
*Rrrrrrrrrmmmmmm*
Another car.
*Chunk*
Oh wait, that's my car!
"Hey guys I gotta go." I say. "My parents are back with my hearing aides and lunch!"
"Hearing aides?"
"We playing against a deaf kid or something?"
"I think they're joshing."
I don't hear anymore as I exit the lobby and turn off the game.
I'm racking up a massive rep. With four hundred plus kills and only twenty five deaths! KDR isn't really a feature yet. But you can check your stats on your profile! I have little to do while grounded and Amy's away.
Who would've thought getting adopted, kinda not really it still counts shut up fuck you, would limit my independence. Kenta was right. I've gone soft, and quite frankly.
I don't care.
I wait at the door as Mom and Dad talk. I can smell the Hardees! Ooh! Mushroom swiss angus burger! You will soon be mine!
The door opens to reveal Mom and I do my standard greeting of glomping onto her.
"Mommy!" I shout as I look up at her.
I'm still at her stomach in height. Biologically thirteen and still four feet tall. I think it's about time I accept that I'm doomed to be short.
"Hey there sweetheart." She says as she rubs my head.
'Yeeeess~' I think happily. 'Obey the cute, pamper your master with head pats and scratchies!"
"Alright." She says as she pats my back. "Go on."
I raise my arms up, expecting the usual.
"Aren't you getting a little old to be carried all the time?" She asks tiredly.
"Never." I say with a serious face.
"Well, I'm getting too old to carry little girls." She says as she hands me a box. "Here're your hearing aides."
"Ooh!" I say as I take them.
Can't wait to no longer be woken up by the neighbors! Or to Mom farting in the middle of the night.
"They don't have any hidden traps in them, do they?" I ask.
I mean, if they do then Wade will just find them when I pair them to my phone.
"If you ever go AWOL, they'll turn off, clamp down, and activate a tracker in them." Mom says. "Now scooch, you're blocking the door and I'm not paying to air condition the yard."
'You really are old.' I think to myself.
I step aside as Mom walks past. And step in front of Dad and hold my arms up.
"Didn't your mother just say you were too old?" He asks.
"Clearly you weren't paying attention." I say haughtily. "She said she was too old. I'm still a delicate flower, yet to blossom, and far from withering. Now carry me!"
He chuckles and rolls his eyes as he comes down to scoop me up with one arm. The other holding the Hardees bag. And he holds me at his hip.
"There, that's more like it." I say. "This is a man who knows how to treat a lady!" I call back to Mom.
"Trust me, I know!" Mom says, teasingly? As she walks into the hall.
I stay here for a second as Dad closes the door and follows after Mom.
"Was that a sex joke?" I ask him.
"I'unno, maybe." He shrugs.
I hear a soft krrr as we walk. Looking back I see Kratos is following us!
'Aww, does the wittle guy want his mommy?' I coo in my head.
"Also, Kitsu." Mom says as we pass my room. "I have a few papers I need you to sign. NDA's and a few other things."
"I refuse to sign anything without my lawyer present." I say seriously.
She turns around and cocks an eyebrow at me.
"I am your lawyer." She says.
"My lawyer and my mother?" I say cheekily. "Isn't that a conflict of interests?"
"No." She says as she turns back around and walks into the kitchen. "A conflict of interests would be if I was your mother and your prosecutor."
"Aren't you?" I ask. "You did sentence me to a month of house arrest barring certain circumstances."
"No, that just makes me your mother." She says.
I smile at her.
"What?" She asks.
"You just admitted you're my mother." I point out.
"No I didn't." She says.
"Yes you did!" I give out in a sing song voice.
"Your singing lessons are working out." She says.
"Thank you!" I say. "You still called me your daughter."
"Mark-"
"I'm not here." He says, cutting her off. "I'm in the nothing box."
"Food!" Mom says. "Lets eat, it's getting cold."
Kratos rolls past us and bumps into Mom's leg.

Judge Alexander Blake POV
.
"And three failure to attends, one in Michigan for a speeding violation from nineteen ninety five, one in Tennessee for another speeding violation in two thousand, and one in California for public intoxication, of an illegal substance." I read off. "Considering these charges and their subsequent failures to be addressed, as well as the nature of the allegations and evidence already presented, I am hereby posting no bond for one Max Gregory Anders. Deeming him a flight risk and immediate threat to those around him."
"What!?" Said defendant roars. "That's absurd! You can't do that!"
"You'll find sir, that I can. And I just did." I calmly say as I hand the papers off to be categorized and processed. "Next!"
The defendant gets red in the face. Before schooling himself. Content to merely glare at me.
"Very well, once this whole circus side show is done and over with I'll ha-"
"What is he still doing here?" I ask his escort. "I said next."
He screams at me as he's escorted out of the room. And the next defendant requesting bail steps up.
My decision was based on numerous factors. His wealth and connections meant he'd easily be able to hide and clear any and all further evidence. To say nothing of the fact that I could post the highest bail possible and he'd toss what is essentially pocket change at me. There's also his sons and daughter to consider. If he got out, who'll protect them? He's clearly not above striking a fourteen year old amputee. Who's to say he won't strike a toddler? Who's to say he hasn't already.
It was with that, that I posted no bail.
After all, the cries of a mother in fear for her child, with a check containing six zeroes, can be so heart wrenching.
Besides, who's going to call bullshit? The guys kids all show classic signs of abuse in their behavior. And the video of him backhanding his recently amputee'd son? Yeah, I doubt many people are willing to call me out on my ruling.
I assure you, my decision was unbiased, made of sound mind, and pure intentions.

Kitsu POV
.
"And we just got an update." The lady on the TV says. "Max Anders has been deemed enough of a flight risk due to wealth, connections, and three FTA's that he has been denied bail."
"Good." Her co-host says. "Keep him away from the kids."
I look back to Mom on the couch.
"What's FTA?" I ask.
"Failure To Attend. It's when someone doesn't show up to court." She says as she reaches for the remote and turns the TV off. "Alright, looks like we need to prepare. I'll call Pigot."

Thomas "Coil" Calvert POV
.
-Timeline 1-
"You piece of shit!" Lisa cries after I break her nose. "You promised! I swear! I don't know anything!"
Tied down and naked, her face bloodied and bruised purple. One eye swollen shut, the other red from tears. I've already had my way with her during this little, interrogation. She is quite the beauty. And with a soft, supple, athletic body.
Putting a bitch in her place will never grow old.
"Maybe." I say as I bring my hand to cup her jaw, she flinches in fear and anticipation of more pain. "But I feel like there's something you're hiding from me."
I snap my fingers.
My men come in carrying a chair with a girl in it. Naked save for the bag over her face.
"Perhaps I'm not using the right, tools." I say as I leave her and walk to the other girl.
"No, no, NO!" Lisa starts crying, desperately trying to break out of her binds. "Coil! Coil please! Anything! I'll do anything!"
I take off the bag to reveal a drugged Reiko. Eyes unfocused as the narcotics run through her system.
"Maybe." I say as I step around the chair to face Lisa, holding Reiko's face towards her. "But I think I should show you I'm serious. Besides, unlike you, she's already used to this. So, why would I take you over her? She has more experience. What do you have to offer, that she doesn't?"
I run my other hand along the young girls body, coming up to cup and grope her breast. Oh? She's crying. Odd, she shouldn't be aware enough for that.
Next throwaway I'll need to up the dose.
"I know you're Thomas Calvert!" She cries out.
I drop my hands from the fourteen year old and stand up. Using my foot to kick her out of my way. Her chair falling over with a clatter as I march towards Lisa.
"So you lied to me?" I say as grab her jaw. "What else have you lied to me about? Hmm?"
"Tha-that's it." She weeps. "I swear. Please, please just, just stop."
This, this is true power. Holding the life and wellbeing of another in your hands. To have them beg for mercy.
"Hmm, no." I say as I throw a punch to her stomach. "We're going to have, so much fun."
.
.
-Timeline 2-
.
"You wanted to talk boss?" Lisa says over the laptop.
I close the other timeline. I got what I wanted.
Lisa figured out my identity. And Kitsu is an active blindspot to her power. She can't think about her, or around her. It's like her agent doesn't want to acknowledge that Kitsu is real.
"Just wanted to hear a report on how the team's doing." I say calmly. "How has DJ been fitting in? Are their any hiccups? Should I be on the lookout for someone new?"
"Nah, he's been fitting in well enough." Lisa says.
I open another timeline as a precaution.
In the new one, I end the conversation there and head to the other side of the base. My backup office.
I'm still stuck inside my bunker. And it's rapidly limiting my movements.
It's time I start getting, drastic.

-Friday, July 23rd, The Rig, 10am-
.
.
Kitsu POV
.
Sitting in a large room with a war map of Brockton Bay. Most of the Wards and PRT are here. As well as a few others, squad leaders and the like. It's a large rectangular map table, thing, With Pigot at the head, Miss Militia to her right, Armsmaster to Miss Militia's right, Dauntless to Pigot's left, Assault to his left. A few of the Wards, including Vergil at the bottom right, me at the top left to keep us separate, Dennis next to him, and Carlos next to him. New Wave is here too. Mom, Sarah, Neil, Crystal, Gully, Firebreather.
The rest of the heroes of Brockton bay aren't here.
"We will now get this meeting under way." Pigot says. "The topic of the meeting is an impending power struggle about to take place in Brockton Bay. The source of this power struggle, is the absence of Kaiser to control the Empire. With a lack of clear lineage, we are expecting them to break apart. At which point-"
"Quick question." A PRT Squad leader says as he raises his hand. "What happened to Kaiser? I don't think any of us have heard of anything in relation to him suddenly being out of commission."
"Oh, he's very out of commission." Pigot says. "And when, or if he gets back into commission. We're still expecting him to lose his grip on the Empire."
I'm, so bored.
I zone out as Pigot keeps going around in flowery language. Political speak and techno babble.
'Could've used a Missy here.' I think to myself. 'She'd be able to give me the cliff notes so that I could-'
I jolt as I feel a foot nudge my shin.
"I didn't do it!" I say automatically as I'm snapped from my thoughts.
Everyone is staring at me. And Mom brings a hand to her face as she shakes her head.
"What?" I ask as I look around the room.
"Please, try to pay attention." Pigot says.
"Oh, I did." I say. "I just failed. What's going on?"
"We we're asking you about the members of the Empire." Miss Militia says.
"Oh, what do you want to know? Names? Powers? Regrets? Trigger events?" I list off.
"Just, powers, for now." Pigot says.
"Which one?" I ask again.
"What gives her any authority on this?" Dauntless asks in a questioning tone.
"She's a level seven Thinker." Pigot says for me. "Any secrets you have, assume them to not be a secret to her."
"Alright." He says with a shrug.
"Start with Purity." Pigot says as she turns to me.
"Kaiser's wife, has a kid with him. She works as a-"
"Just, her powers." Pigot stops me. "We're not trying to break any unwritten rules here."
'A bit stupid if you ask me.' I think to myself. 'But alright.'
"Purity is not a striker, blaster, or any of that." I say. "She's a Breaker. She absorbs and stores light. Heck, she doesn't even wear a costume. Catch her on a cloudy week and she's screwed."
Several of the PRT guys are typing into computers. Likely cataloguing my info.
"And that validates her being here." Pigot turns to Armsmaster.
'Oh?' I think mischievously. 'Did the tin man back sass me when I wasn't paying attention?'
"Now, Stormfront." Pigot says.
"A bit more vague." I say honestly. "Mix Crystal and Static Shock and you get Stormfront. She's got the basic Alexandria package with the added lightning special effects."
"Any weaknesses?" Pigot asks.
"She's not invincible, and she can't keep up the lightning. She's gotta recharge it." I say.
"Alright, Hookwolf?" She asks.
"Hookwolf has Endbringer biology. He has a core that, so long as that's in tact, he'll recover." I say evenly.
*Crack*
*Shatter*
"What?!/Endbringer Biology?!/Bullshit!/Explain." I hear multiple people say at once.
"Quiet." Pigot says sternly.
The multitude of individuals who stood up, all slowly and gingerly sit back down.
"Now, not to get off topic. But-" Pigot says as she turns to look at me. "Endbringer biology? Explain."
'Oh, fuck me sideways.' I think with a deepening sense of horror.
"Um, their core." I say. "You know, the thing that, keeps them going? Regenerates them, acts as a giant Corona Gemma? It's the reason I targeted Behemoth's head? Did none of you know about this?"
"No, none of us know this." Pigot says. "So Behemoth's core, is in his head?"
"No it's in his neck." I clarify. "If you expose the core then the Endbringers retreat to recover."
"If Behemoth's core is in his neck, then why didn't you target that!?" Vergil says as he stands up.
"That's because killing-Mmmrph." I throw my hands over my mouth.
I've said too much. If this line of questioning continues it could lead to Cauldron and no one wants that on their hands.
As well as the existential crisis of their being nearly thirty Endbringers and only three are currently active.
"So targeting their core will kill them?" Armsmaster asks.
"You don't want to do that!" I say. "For one you'd need a nuke just to scratch them and the resulting force from cracking the core will level a city at least!"
This is getting out of hand!
"How can you be so sure?" He challenges. "You've admitted that your own knowledge is shaky, and that it can be unreliable and that we should only take information from you as suggestions, not facts."
"Exactly, and better safe than sorry." I say. "Back to the subject at hand!"
"I think we should contin-" Aegis starts.
"She said she's done!" Mom snaps. "Director Pigot, can we please get back on track?"
Pigot stares impassively at me for a bit longer.
"Cricket?"
Oh thank god!
.
.
-3 hours later-
.
.
"And with that we've come to an agreed plan of action." Pigot says. "You all know what you need to do, dismissed."
Basically everyone has roles when the fighting starts out. Though we're taking steps to minimize that. Patrols centered around Empire territory being the chief preventative measure.
The presence of law enforcement, does more to lower crime than anything else.
Oh! And I'm the catch all. Basically I'm so versatile, that I'm search and rescue, frontline tank, frontline blitz, support, and utility.
Everyone gets up and slowly files out. With Vergil shooting me one last dirty look before Dennis nudges him to keep moving.
I get up to leave-
"Not you." Pigot says.
"She doesn't listen to you." Mom says as the others in New Wave stop to see what's going on.
"I'm well aware." Pigot says. "If she did, then there wouldn't be any criminal capes left in this city. But that's neither here nor there. I'd like to discuss what you know about the Endbringers more. If what you-"
"No." I say automatically, cutting her off.
"May I at least have a reason?" She says, as though she expected me to say no.
"Multiversal politics and I genuinely feel you won't believe me." I say as I turn to leave. "That and saying the stuff I know out loud, could get people killed."
With that. I leave. After awkwardly squeezing past Gully.
My epic, badass, 'You can't handle the truth' exit. Ruined by my diminutive size.
.
.
Emily Pigot POV
.
I wait a few minutes for the living sonar to leave.
"Armsmaster, is everything she said true?" I ask.
"If you're asking whether or not she lied, then no." He affirms. "Everything she said in regards to the Endbringers, was true. Or at the very least, as true as she believes it."
Now I have another report.
Boundless power, ever growing abilities, from an alternate earth not on record. And now she reveals she knows more about the Endbringers than the rest of humanity combined?
The verification that they can be killed. As difficult as it is. Is such valuable information. And the idea that they have a weak spot. One we just need to find.
But more than that, the look on her face. I've seen that look on more people than I care to admit. It was a look of absolute horror and fear. The look someone gives when life is rapidly crumbling away around you and you're powerless against it. All you can do is futilely fight back and hope, pray that you last long enough for something to change.
I've seen that type of face so often at night. Every time I dream of Elisburg.
What could have an immortal, indestructible child, one who has bested an Enbringer in a single hit, fear for her life?
.

-Meanwhile, Central Hideout-
.
.
Brad "Hookwolf" Meadows POV
.
"Alright boss, I got you Viktor, Othala, Rune, Fenja, Menja, and Crusader." Cricket says through her vocalizer.
"Perfect, too bad Storm Tiger ain't here." I say as I stand up from my chair and grab my mask. Putting it on and heading into my impromptu board room.
I call it my War room. A pool table turned normal table with swivel chairs around it. A map of the bay on it with pins and threads. Outlining territory.
"Alright then." I say as I take my place at the front of the table. "Thanks fer all of ya coming. I got you all here today to bring you in on the next big thing in this city. In case you didn't know, Kaiser is out."
"What?" Crusader says.
"Fuck. How?" Rune says.
Viktor and Othala give each other a concerned look. But don't voice anything.
Fenja and Menja give no reaction. So they likely knew.
Makes sense they'd know. They're his arm candy. Sugar daddy steps out they'd be some of the first to know.
"So, now that the head honcho is out." I say as I keep their attention. "I was thinking it was time for a new alpha to step up."
"And what?" Fenja says. "You think that'd be you?"
"Don't see why not." I say with a grin under my mask. "Why I gathered you all here. Let you get first pick at the council of the new king."
"Fat chance." Menja says as she and her sister stand up and leave. "Kaiser will hear about this when he gets back."
'Heads up bitches.' I think sourly. 'Kaiser just got put up with no bail.'
I wait for them to leave before continuing.
"Anyone else wanna bail?" I challenge.
"I'd rather hear what you have to say before I make any decisions." Crusader says.
"Same." Viktor agrees.
"Good." I grin.

Klara "Stormfront" Risinger POV
.
"Good, nice to see some of you have a fucking spine." I say as I walk around the table of gathered capes. "I'll get to the point. Kaiser is out, and the Empire needs new leadership."
Fenja and Menja get up and leave right away.
"Good. The bimbos where brainless muscle anyway." I say after they leave. "The rest of you at least have some intelligence. So, I already know Hookwolf gave you all a sales pitch on his 'Kingdom of the strong.' But, here's how I see it. America is meant, for us."
I immediately get Crusader's attention with that.
I already have Krieg and Alabaster on my side. Krieg is my liaison to Gesellschaft. Alabaster is a loyal soldier of Krieg. Night and Fog are being ordered to stay with Purity until further notice. Insurance he calls it.
As if I could fail here.
"Too long we've been constrained!" I say. "Kaiser was a decent politician, but what we need is a leader. Like his father was, like his sister would've been! We need someone with ambition to put America, Back on track!"
Rune leaves.
"A cowardly little girl." I spit. "I'll get to the important bits. The Merchants lost Squealer, Skidmark, Porcupine, and Trainwreck. Now Scarecrow brought them up a bit and their new tinker the Mechanic is tricky. But he lost their serial killer and their shaker."
Permafrost was really the only thing keeping any of us from taking the initiative. None of us have any real ability to deal with a walking ice age.
"And Lung won't try anything drastic with the other Endstopper sticking around." I point out.
Kitsu has been to Brockton Bay a total of three times before now, as far as I'm aware. This current stay is her longest. After her first stay where she got into a scuffle with Lung and threw him into the bay, from halfway across the city, people learned to lay low when she comes around. No one wants to piss off the Endstopper.
Both logically, and practically. She's a capricious little dyke. And is known to do things 'Just because.'
Hell, if it weren't for her preferences, she would be the ideal. The perfect example of everything we hold in esteem. That the Aryan race is superior to others.
A shame she's a corrupted freak. She could've been something greater.
"Faultline's charity for the abominations is out of town. Coil's gone to ground. And The Undersiders have lost their main muscle and transport. There is no better time than now to establish a foothold! I've already got a few things in the works-"
"Real quick, what you plan to do about the freak?" Crusader asks.
"Which freak?" I ask in return.
"The fox." He clarifies.
"Easy, I'm uniquely suited to tackling her." I say with a smug smile. "Every time she's tried to enter this area, I've confronted her and drove her off. We all know most things just, don't phase her. Punch her? She laughs. Burn her? She's more concerned about her clothes. Shoot her? She ignores you. Stab her? If shooting doesn't do anything. What makes you think stabbing will?" I list off as I walk around the table. "But! One thing that works against her, something that few capes have, is a targeted, weakness."
Capes with a targeted weakness can be the single most problematic capes to deal with. End of sentence.
They are usually high ranking. And show a strong resistance to all forms of damage, save a few. But those few? Really hurt!
I come up behind Crusader, put a hand on his shoulder, and lean over to speak.
"Her weakness, is electricity." I say as I hold up my other hand and let it crackle. "Stick with me? And you won't have to fear her."
I stand back up and walk to the front.
"Like I was saying, I have a few things in the works. I'm working on reestablishing the natural order. The others have their places, the blacks, jews, spics, and chinks. They've just forgotten it." I continue. "I'm not letting you in on any of the finer details, until I knowyou're on my side. But, let me just say, I won't be content with just being some gang sharing a city four to five ways with some change. I'm making an empire. Who's with me?"

Kayden "Purity" Anders POV
.
"And Stormfront is also making her own group." Fenja says.
"Great." I sigh as I set Aster down in her crib.
"Is, is the footage real?" Menja asks hesitantly.
"True enough that I can't deny it." I say. "But it's not the whole truth. Edward had figured out Max is Kaiser, all on his own. And was trying to extort him for it."
This line of dialogue is mostly rehearsed. Edward knows Fenja and Menja's loyalty is strictly to Kaiser, and that challenging their image of him will push them away. So, stick with a simple lie. One that will keep them around, and is easy to remember.
"And he still lives here?" Fenja asks.
"If I could kick him out, I would." I say softly as I lean back on the crib. "But Theodore and Alphonse don't know, they're good kids and I don't need them asking questions. To say nothing of how the public would go nuts and hang me for kicking a fourteen year old amputee onto the streets after his father was jailed for abusing him."
Ed inherited his fathers brain. And he's come up with quite a few contingencies. Right now? Keep him out of sight while he runs the logistics. I don't have a head for numbers, but he does.
"We'll just keep the main parts of the Empire running. The important parts." I say as I push off the crib. "We have Night and Fog, they're good muscle and refuse to abandon the Empire for any splinter groups. Then there's you two, who else?"
"Rune, she refuses to join Hookwolf or Stormfront." Fenja says.
'That's good! Maybe I can still set her up with Theo or Alphonse?' I think to myself. 'Max tried setting her up with Edward, but that went south faster than an inverted compass.'
"Too radical for her." Menja adds. "She doesn't trust that Stormfront or Hookwolf have what it takes to be actual leaders."
"Just a pack dog and a warmonger." Fenja finishes.
'She knows that going with Hookwolf or Stormfront will get her killed.' I realize.
"And the others?" I ask.
"Othala follows Viktor." Fenja says. "And we don't know what he's decided."
"Krieg is with Stormfront, and Alabaster follows Krieg's orders." Menja adds. "And I think it's safe to say Crusader is joining Stormfront. Cricket, Hookwolf."
"That one's not surprising." I roll my eyes. "So Gesellschaft is casting its net wide amongst us and Stormfront. Is there any chance we can get Night or Fog to act as a go between for us? Call in a favor or two?"
"Not a chance." Menja says. "We're allied yes, but we don't have anything they'd want."
"That, and neither Night or Fog have any leeway with the group." Fenja adds. "They're soldiers, nothing more."
"Mrm." I grumble in frustration. "Does Rune have connections with the Herren clan still?"
"A few, you'd have to ask her though." Fenja confirms.
"Okay, don't let me forget about that." I say as we walk out of the room. "Our main goal is to hold as much of the Empire together until Max gets back. And if we can, reunify as much as we can before he does. Might need to call a meeting at Captains Hill. If for nothing else than to postpone any actual fighting or splintering as much as possible."
I turn off the light as I glance back at my baby girl. All this is for her. I'll manipulate and strike up as many devil's deals if it means her future happiness is secure.
"Sweet dreams my little snowflake."

-Sunday, July 25th, Dallon House, 11am-
.
.
"I'm just saying." I tell Missy. "There's a lot of inspiration you can gain from media!"
"Kitsu, we're watching a show about a hundred year old boy going on a journey riding a flying six legged cow." She says.
"Okay, you ever disrespect Avatar like that again and they'll have to blare the Endbringer sirens." I say seriously as I play the first episode from my recordings list.
"Did you just threaten me!?" She snaps.
"No, I threatened the city." I say evenly.
I've noticed that the more, peaceful our lives get. The more capes start acting up. Taking offense to smaller things, misinterpreting words and actions. Jumping to conclusions.
The only thing I can do, is not take it seriously. And try to mitigate any offenses.
My efforts are actively being sabotaged by the shard network. And there is nothing I can do about it.
I haven't been idle. I've been racking my brain for a solution. Kill an Endbringer? More pop up and they adjust their strategies. Kill Scion? As, hard as that is. And the network will start running unchecked. Any shards that don't have a close bond with their users will start going AWOL and doing their own thing. Titans, broken triggers, that sort of thing.
Honestly? I'm, I'm struggling to find a solution. Best I can come up with is convincing Scion to not go murder hobo. Which, the only thing I have that could convince him to do anything I suggest. Is the [Answer].
"Argh!" I wince as I get small and quick head ache.
"Are you okay?" Missy asks, snapping out of her brief offense.
"Yeah, just a little headache." I say.
[Conduit] does that anytime there are active shards nearby and they want me to know they disagree with something I'm thinking.
It's nothing major, just like a quick, half second brain freeze. A mental kick in the shin. We worked out a way of communication that doesn't require a direct connection. If they agree, they send a jolt of heat to my head.
[Conduit]'s first idea was a spike of pain for disagreement, and a spike of pleasure for agreement. They were making a basic association clause. And I had to talk them out of it. Me wincing in public is one thing, I can play that off as a headache. But me moaning, seemingly at random? Um, no.
[Conduit] is disguising itself as a dying [Thinker] shard that's struggling to stay alive. And to other shards, when [Conduit] does that whole, mental spike, it looks like they're trying to enforce their conflict drive. And failing.
It actually works to briefly distract other shards. Cutting their influence for a brief moment.
Makes other shards go sort of like, 'Okay and now we carry the two, factor for the unknown variable of X while putt- What was that!? Oh, just you. Now, where was I?' kind of thing.
[Conduit] doesn't do it a lot. Just when I'm considering something they really don't agree with, or really do agree with. And if they need to tell me something important? They'll persist and give me a minor headache. Which gives me a reason to step away from others.
"Still, I don't like you threatening violence over a disagreement." Missy says.
I press play and look to her. Staring at her emerald eyes as she slowly gains more of a blush the longer I do so.
"W-what?" She stutters.
"You're so mature." I say with a smile.
"R-really?" She blushes and looks away with a smile. "Um, thank you. "You um, you have pretty eyes."
"Adorable." Dad mumbles from the couch.
"No comments from the peanut gallery!" I turn to him and yell.
He's laying on his side and eating chips.
"And I thought we weren't allowed to eat chips on the couch!" I point out.
"Do as I say, not as I do." He says. "You're missing your show."
'Crap!' I turn back to the TV.
"This talk isn't over!" I say as I focus on the TV.
.
.
"So what am I learning?" Missy asks.
"You can totally bend the elements!" I say excitedly as we're on episode three.
"Not really?" She says skeptically. "I can bend things. But I can't move anything. Like, those water whips, and stuff. I can't do that."
"You can turn the spatial orientation of something around. Flipping gravity in one spot and move stuff that way." I point out. "Like, take a car and flip the gravity around it sideways aimed at a villain. Same with water. Get someone to pop a hydrant and move the gravity around to make your own water cannon. And, here's a big one, fire, is inorganic."
"That's all well and good, but it's not like they allow me to just carry around a flamethrower. They won't even let me use a baton!" She says.
I hold up my hand, and ignite.
"Oh, um, since when could you do that?" She ask.
"A while now." I shrug as I stop the enhancement. "Just never really needed it."
"Oh, cool?"
*Ring*
"Oh what now?" I say as I dig my phone out of my pocket.
It's Amy.
"PanPan!" I shout excitedly. "Need a ride?"
"Stop, calling me-"
"You called me." I cut her off.
…
…
"Hello?" I ask.
"There's a guy her for you." She says. "Wants you to fix his girlfriend. She's in Asylum East, says you know her?"
"Huh?"

Kitsu defends Missy
.
.
Kitsu POV
.
"Okay, seriously what the fuck guys." I say to my chat. "Why you coming after my girl like that?"
Lately I've been getting a lot of messages from fans saying I can do better than Missy. And it's pissing me off!
The chats scroll through with answers until I get a super chat.
(You are hotter more powerful funnier and make more money) – Bur407gr
"Hotter? Debatable. More powerful? Agreed, but that is so superficial. Same with hotter! Funnier? You guys haven't met her. More money?" I list off. "So!? How does any of that invalidate my choice of a partner!?"
(You are also more talented than her) – Gorbyg00ber261
"Okay, that's it." I say as I push back and stand up out of my chair. "BABY! BABE, GET DOWN HERE!"
I walk out of the basement to go get my wife.
.
.
-20 minutes later-
.
.
I step back into the camera view with Missy. She's in her house clothes. Which consists of loose jammies, slippers, and a band tee.
"Let's go through this." I say as I see her cross her arms and roll her eyes in the camera.
She's used to me pulling stunts like this. And according to her, I've done way worse when drunk.
"Hotter? Just cause I've got bigger tits and a fatter ass means I'm hotter?"
I illusion a pointer stick and start gesturing to her.
"These lips? More full than mine, these are prime kissing lips. There is reason I call her my Kissy Missy." She starts blushing. "These eyes? Such a gorgeous shade of green. I got my wedding ring set with jewels made from emeralds that remind me of her eyes."
I pull up her shirt and show off her abs.
"This tummy? Perfect! Amazing. Perfect for laying on with the right amount of firm muscle for support and soft girl tummy for comfort. This tummy may be on her person. But it's my tummy." I go to her arms. "Same deal! Strong, firm, soft. These arms are all the blanket I need at night. Thighs!"
I grab the back of her jammies and tug them back to show the definition. And Missy blushes further.
I know I'm pushing it. But I need to put these simps in their place!
"These thighs? Crush me mommy. Please! And if I get started on her legs as a whole, I'll need to put this stream behind a paywall!" I say seriously. "I may be curvier and have a cuter face. But that's it. If I'm a snack, she's a full course meal with a glass of wine at a five star restaurant."
I illusion an outline around Missy.
"Okay, now that we got that out of the way." I say as move Missy to sit in the chair and take my place in her lap. "We can move to the important things! First off. Best chair, obviously. Money? So fucking what? If it weren't for her, I'd be blowing my money on everything. She keeps me in check. You see how I act on stream? That's not fake. I'm naturally that hyper and loud. I'm so kookoo for cocoa puffs that they removed me from auditioning for the mascot because they were afraid I'd kill the kids over the cereal. My own mother can't stand me for more than an hour at a time. And she puts up with me for days at a time. Power? So? How many people can say they've had a date in Venice, London, Honolulu, and Barcelona all in the same afternoon? Talent? Fuck off! You haven't met her!"
I can feel Missy hiding her face in my hair. Squealing and giggling. And I'm honestly loving it!
"And she's one of the sweetest people ever!" I continue. "I'll come home to a cleaned house and a dinner table set with candles and flowers every other day, just because. I'll mention I'm hungry, and half an hour later I'll have a pizza from Rome to cheer me up. I'm sad? She'll coddle me until I don't even remember what got me sad. Sometimes I'll pretend to be sad just to get her to coddle me! And she stands up for herself. If something happens, she's my rock. And after everything we've been through together? I don't want anyone else! She's mine! I don't need another! I may be an S-Class with a networth higher than the GDP of some countries, but I'd cut my tail off for this girl!"
My chat is going haywire! And I've ignored the last seven super chats.
"You know what? Stream's over." I say. "I'm spending the rest of the day with my perfect wife!" I say as Missy wraps her arms around me. "The rest of you can cry as you wish you could dream of a girl half as good as mine!"
And I end the stream.
"Kitsu." Missy says quietly.
"Yes?" I ask as I turn to look at her.
"So, you know that part where you were showing off my thighs?" She says as she brings her hands up to hold my waist.
'Wait? Is she?' I think with anticipation.
"Yes~" I sing out.
"Well, about that line, crush me mommy, please." She whispers into my ears as holds me tighter.
'She is!' I think excitedly.
"What about it?" I ask as I lean back and wiggle into her embrace. Bringing my tail to rest in my lap, right over her arms.
"You know your mom watches your videos right?" She says in a deadpan voice as she drops all sultriness.
…
"Huh?"

QUESTIONS!
.
FOR NEWB!
.
FOR KITSU!
RadChaos897: Have you ever thought about bio Tinkering with wheat, tomatoes, cows, and whatever other ingredients go into making a cheese pizza? I bet you could make the Ultimate Cheese Pizza.
Kitsu: That, does not sound appealing.
RadChaos897: Would you bring back animals that have been hunted into extinction? I'm sure you could with the help of Amy and a few examples of the extinct animal, like horns, pelts, teeth, or bones. What about critically endangered animals like pandas?
Kitsu: Panda's can die out! They are so inefficient at living, they go into heat for two days and are just as picky about their partners as humans. If they have more than one kid at once they'll abandon the other to die. And most panda cubs die because their mother forgets they exist, and sits on them. They have a digestive system meant for meat! But lost the gene that codes for the taste buds that taste meat so they eat bamboo. Which they can't even fully digest! And as such they eat sixteen hours a day.
They exist, purely because we find them cute!
As for animals to bring back? The Great Auk would be a good start.
RadChaos897: Would you willingly cause an animal to go extinct? There is actually a topic being debated by people, including scientists and government officials, on whether or not we as humanity should make mosquitoes go extinct by creating and releasing a CRISPR virus that will make them unable to have offspring. I'll also make this a double question for you and Newb, what do you think about the talks of making mosquitoes go extinct? Should we? Should we not? That is the question.
Kitsu: Panda. They had their time.
Newb: Mosquitoes are actually very important pollinators. More so than a lot of bees. And not only that, those pesky diseases they carry? Do a lot to keep invasive species at bay. Removing mosquitoes entirely could cause irreparable damage to all ecosystems.
Other than that? Wild house cats. They're a menace. If you have a cat. Don't let it outside. Hell, environmental protections actively tell people to stop feeding wild cats. It's not helping the environment. It's hurting it. And some will recommend you kill any wild house cats you find. They're that bad.
I'm not saying kill all house cats. But the ones that are allowed out? DESTROY ecosystems.
Just look up how many species went extinct because of the domestic cat.
Kitsu: Ya done?
Newb: For now.
.
.
FOR ONE TIME ONLY!
PINKY!
RadChaos897: How potent can you make the acid slime you produce? Can it melt through common materials like stone and metal? Can you make your acid affect only certain things like organic and inorganic matter? What about living and non-living things?
Pinky: Um, I'm not so good with the sciency stuff. But, I can make acid that acts as a lather, a strong acid, a lubricant, and I can make oil stuffs that don't mix into water. And if I really try I can make acid strong enough to melt the acid resistant plastics.
RadChaos897: How much of your acidic slime can you produce at a time? Can you fire it from your hands? If so then how powerful can you shoot your acid?
Pinky: I can produce a steady amount. I can't shoot it. It basically sweats off of me, just more so. If I try I could fill a tub in a few minutes.
RadChaos897: What is the most creative thing you can do with your powers?
Pinky: Make myself extra limber and slippery. Slide out of holds and then make the acid fast oxidizing so that it dries out and gives me better grips.
RadChaos897: Have you made contact with a certain Snail named Gregor? I bet he can give you some tips and tricks, since you and him have similar powers. Possibly Newter too, but his slime is much more different than yours.
Pinky: Are those some of the people that bus driver was accusing us of being?
RadChaos897: Since you and Eric stream together, what have been some memorable moments the two of you had? What were some of your favorite games you played? Were there any chatters who posted cringe or lewd comments that you pointed out? Did you ban them?
Pinky: We were once playing a match in Battlefield hardcore mode. And Eric was about to get the last kill. But I sneezed and accidentally shot him. Losing us the match. I was struggling not to laugh awkwardly as he slowly turned his head to look at me disapprovingly.
And I got, A LOT of cringey and lewd comments. So much that we've had to ban several words in chat.
Worst one, was someone saying they'd "Like some cotton candy in their mouth." Referring to me, and Eric!
RadChaos897: I wonder if you could get hired by Parian as a model? You do have the figure for it. Plus it will give you the chance to see if she can make you some acid slime proof clothes.
Pinky: The problem with that is, well. I'm too filled out. When it comes to clothes modeling, people want models that can be physically related to. People who are generically attractive, but not too exceptional in any way. And I'm not very, physically relatable.
Kitsu gets offers because she's exceptionally cute, and has somewhat realistic proportions. They don't want her modeling for the clothes. They want her to draw the attention of onlookers.
Meanwhile I'm a frizzy haired pinky girl with black and gold eyes. And I'm fourteen year old with a D-Cup. Not very, generically attractive.
Casanova5424: If you started a streamer advertised business aside from typical merch like clothes, what would it be.
Pinky: I think a line of soda's and energy drinks would be cool.
