Time for part two of The Dance! Last chapter was so much fun to write, but I can already tell that this update will be even more fun to make! Also, sorry for being so girly last update. The dresses were so fun to describe. I mean, what girl hasn't ever been obessed with dresses at one point? Okay, I'll stop rambling. Let's begin!

Review shoutout:

iNeptune: Thank you so much! I really enjoyed writing part one, and I'm glad you approve of the set up! You're amazing!

Let's begin! (Disclaimer: All rights to Uncle Rick.)

Percy's POV

If only he could have a single dance with her… Percy was staring at Reyna and how beautiful she was. She looked stunning in that dress. It was almost unfair…

"Percy, there's Piper and Jason! Oh my gods, her dress is so pretty!" Annabeth squealed. Percy was almost shocked. He had never heard or seen her act this way before. She was definitely more of a tomboy, not this… girly mess in front of him. It was kinda cute, though.

Percy followed Annabeth to Piper and Jason and they greeted each other, Piper and Annabeth acting as if they shared Piper's mother.

Jason was staring lovingly at Piper. "Isn't she beautiful?" He whispered while the girls gushed.

"Yeah… " Percy had to admit that his own girlfriend looked amazing as well. Where was Reyna…?

As Percy had his squirrel moment, searching for Reyna, Piper and Annabeth stopped fangirling over their dresses and turned to the boys.

"Let's dance together," Piper suggested. "I love this song!"

Jason and Percy shrugged as they were pulled into the center ot the mess hall where a circle was forming. Demigods hopped into the circle to preform a dance move or trick while the others cheered over the music. It was exhilarating.

Percy watched as Jason gave Leo a piggy-back ride in the circle, the demigods cheering around them. Percy laughed. He caught Reyna's eye on the other side of the circle and he smiled crookedly at her. He could've sworn he saw her blush in the glow of the lights. Then, something caught her eye and she turned around.

Jason and Leo were pushed out of the circle, and two girls from the Second Cohort took their place, doing some sort of dance. The Macarena, maybe?

Percy was pulled by Annabeth into an isolated corner. Jason, Piper and Leo joined them and started to dance. It was a rush. So many things going on at once. Luckily, Percy was ADHD so he could comprehend most things going on around him at that moment.

Another slow song came on a bit later and Jason and Percy decided to switch dates for that song. Percy began to dance with Piper and Jason with Annabeth. Percy was worried lat Leo would feel left out, but he went to "party" with Hazel and Leo.

Percy smiled at Piper as tthey danced. Jason was a lucky guy. Though, Percy thought that he himself was pretty lucky as well. Reyna and Annabeth…

Speaking of which, Percy quickly turned around to find the raven-haired girl. He saw her awkwardly dancing with Leo. Luckily, they were both grinning. Somehow, a twinge of jealousy entered Percy. He knew that Leo and Reyna weren't dating and never would date (Leo was not Reyna's type), but still… Percy longed to be the one dancing with her instead.

Piper looked worried. "Are you okay?"

Percy shook it off. "Yeah, yeah. Oh, did Jason tell you that you look great?"

Piper laughed. "Yes, he did. Several times actually. I usually don't like getting all this dressed up and stuff… but, it's a dance. I have to at least try."

Percy nodded. "Yeah, I get it. You don't want to be like the other daughters of Aphrodite and Venus."

Piper sighed, mindlessly picking something off of Percy's shoulder. "It's not just that… I don't want to be a stereotypical daughter of Aphrodite. I want to break the rules. I don't know why."

Percy nodded, trying to undertsand. "I… I think I get it."

Piper smiled. "I don't expect you to understand what I mean. And… you're a guy."

Percy grinned. "Yeah, the baseline worry with romance for us is just asking a girl out."

Piper's smile faltered. "Yeah, kind of…"

Percy shrugged off the conversation. The song was over at this point, and he didn't really want to talk more about romance. The truth was, romance was so much more complicated than he was letting on. Of course, Piper knew that, but she didn't know that he knew.

Leo joined their group again, grinning. "Who knew a strict praetor could be so fun?"

Percy raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, I saw you guys dancing. What were you talking about?"

"Mainly just life… and girls. We had a whole conversation in Spanish. I didn't know she was from Puerto Rico!" The Latino boy said. "She also gave me some advice on how to get girls."

Percy smiled. "Sounds like you two had some fun."

Leo nodded. "Yeah, she's like the big sister I never had."

Percy nodded slowly. "Okay…"

"Percy," Annabeth grabbed Percy by the arm. "I'm gonna head to the bathroom. I might take a while though… there's so much… dress…"

Percy chuckled. "Take your time, Wise Girl.

Annabeth kissed him on the cheek and headed towards the bathrooms. Percy tried not to think about how he was alone now… He could finally have a dance with Reyna… Unfortunately, it wasn't that simple. People would see and word would spread. Annabeth would find out. It was inevitable.

Unless he could pull the praetorly away secretly… That was a start….

Percy excused himself, telling the group that he was gonna go get some punch and try to find Hazel and Frank. They didn't think much of it, not even Piper, so he left to go find Reyna.

He eventually ran into her. Literally. Percy knocked a cookie out of her hand while walking aimlessly.

"Crap, sorry!" Percy apologized as he scooped up the fallen cookie.

Reyna shook her head and laughed. "Just throw it away, Percy."

Percy dumped the cookie in the nearest trash can and walked back to her. "Sorry again!"

Reyna shrugged. "It's okay. Where's Annabeth?"

"She went to the bathroom. Why?"

"Well, you've been glued at the hip this whole dance…" Reyna sighed. Percy noticed the sadness in her voice.

Before Percy could stop himself, he said, "Wanna dance?"

Reyna smiled excitedly but then frowned. "I can't."

"Why not?"

"People will see… Annabeth will see," Reyna said.

"She said she was gonna take a while in the restroom. Come on, we'll go somewhere private. If someone asks, we're just discussing praetor stuff.

Reyna hesitated for nearly 15 seconds before responding, "Alright. We can dance."

Percy smiled brigthly. "Seriously? Oh my gods!"

Reyna blushed. "Why so surprised?"

"Uh… come on." He walked outside the mess hall and near a wall. The music could still be heard from where he was. Reyna followed him out.

Percy eyed Reyna closely. She looked impossibly gorgeous. He could feel his lips being pulled towards hers, but Reyna's words stopped him.

"This is so cliche," she muttered, smiling. "Guy sneaks out girl while his girlfriend is distracted."

Percy snickered. "Okay, what's so wrong with living a cliche?"

Reyna paused. "Nothing, I suppose. It's actually… romantic."

Her brown eyes shone. Percy felt that magnetic pull again and he wrapped an arm around her slim waist. She seemed to fit perfectly in his arms. Reyna took a step closer to Percy, her eyes locked on his.

Percy pushed a lock of hair out of her face, blushing. This did seem kind of cliche. But it was so worth it.

Reyna put an arm on Percy's shoulder, smiling. Her makeup looked perfect… Not too much, and not too little. Absolutley perfect. Just like Reyna.

The two started to sway to the curent song. It wasn't necessarily slow, but it wasn't too quick, and semi-soft.

Percy could've sworn that for the duration of the first verse, he and Reyna were pulled closer together, like a magnet. She was almost completely pressed up against him now. Percy wrapped another arm around her waist, pushing her even closer to him. Reyna made a small squeak, and Percy blushed deeply. Luckily, Reyna couldn't have been able to see it, for the sun had set at this point.

Reyna had both hands on Percy's shoulders now, though one hand was sinking down to his shoulder blade. During the second chorus, Percy started lightly rubbing his thumbs on the back of her violet dress. He wasn't sure if she could feel it, but it was something that Percy could do to keep his fingers busy.

He glanced down at Reyna. She was only a few inches shorter than him. Percy gazed longingly at the beautiful girl in his arms. He had never felt more drawn to someone than in that moment. It was like nothing else mattered excpet… her. Reyna Avila Ramirez-Arellano.

By now, she had her head resting on his chest. He squeezed her closer, rubbing his hands up and down her back. They kept swaying back and forth until the song ended, and Percy heard Annabeth's laugh in the mess hall. Reyna stepped back, shaking her head as if waking up from a daze.

Percy smiled gently at her, dropping his arms. That moment had felt… unreal.

Reyna gave Percy a sad and longing look and then retreated back into the mess hall.

Reyna's POV

Reyna hurried away from where she and Percy had just been earlier. She tried to keep the tears from falling. She hadn't cried in a long, long time. But this time, she couldn't help it.

The dance she had shared with Percy felt like a dream now. As if it had never even happened. Reyna had felt so happy at that moment. But now it was over, and Percy was Annabeth's again.

While they were dancing, Reyna had thought that maybe, just maybe, Percy would be able to be with her. Maybe Annabeth wouldn't mind…

But no. That wasn't reality. It never would be. The Fates were so cruel.

Reyna continued to sob, jogging over to a corner where no one was. She was glad that her makeup was water proof or she would've looked terrible.

Reyna almost forgot what it was like to cry, and in a way, it felt refreshing. Like all her worries and stresses from the past few months were just being let go.

After about a minute, Reyna stopped. She wiped her eyes and headed out towards the makeshift dance floor once more. She was going to try to enjoy herself and keep her mind off Percy for as long as possible.

Percy's POV

Luckily, nobody seemed suspicious of where Percy had been. Not even Ananbeth. Jason was off to supervise Leo from afar as he asked a girl to dance with him. Before they had left, Piper had fussed over Leo's dress shirt.

Jason and Leo were gone, and now it was just Piper, Annabeth, Hazel, Frank (who had joined while Percy was gone), and him.

"What do you guys wanna do now?" Asked Hazel.

Piper shrugged. "I'm gonna go check my hair and makeup in the bathroom. Be right back."

Piper shuffled through the crowd to find a restroom.

"So, have you guys been enjoying the dance so far?" Percy asked Hazel and Frank.

They nodded, smiling. Hazel said, "It's great. You guys did a good job with pulling this all together in one day."

Percy shrugged. "Nah, it was nothing, really. I found it pretty simple."

"Probably because Reyna did all the hard planning," Annabeth pointed out, raising her brow.

Percy waved her off. He turned to Hazel and Frank again. "Have you guys seen Octavian yet?"

Frank nodded. "Yeah… he didn't seem too happy about this. He was sulking in the corner over there." Frank pointed towards the nearest corner of the mess hall which was now deserted.

"Figures," Annabeth said. "He was always a party-pooper."

Percy nodded, though he silently wondered if the augur was up to no good. Though, Percy didn't see how Octavian could sabotage the party, it also didn't really seem like something Octavian would do. The ceunturion liked the camp, just not everything about it.

This didn't stop Percy from wondering where he was. Hopefully not dancing. Percy felt bad for the girl who had to dance with Octavian.

"Eh, wherever he is, let's not worry about it," Percy finalized. "Let's enjoy the dance. We're about halfway through. I want to enjoy this night."

Hazel and Frank chatted with them a bit more and then left to go find some other friends from the Fifth Cohort.

"Hey, Seaweed Brain?" Annabeth said.

Percy turned to her. "Yeah? Is something wrong" The way she had said his nickname made Percy worry. Was she going to say something about Reyna?

"I'm gonna go check on Piper, m'k?" Annabeth said, passing Percy. "See ya in a bit."

Percy nodded. "Oh, okay. I thought you were upset or something."

Ananbeth looked at him, confused. "Why would I be upset?"

Percy shrugged, trying to act nocholant. "Nevermind. See ya."

He gave her a quick kiss on the lips for good measure before she left. While he watched her retreating form, he exhaled deeply. He was sure he was busted. Annabeth wasn't a daughter of Athena for nothing.

Percy took this oppurtunity to go find Reyna again.

Piper's POV

Piper was in the girls restroom, standing at the mirror and adjusting her makeup. She didn't really need makeup; she had a naturally pretty face, but Piper figured if there was going to be a night to wear makeup, tonight was that night.

Piper turned at the sound of the door opening. Annabeth stepped in and smiled at Piper. "Hey," the blond said. "Need help?"

Piper shook her head. "I'm almost done." Piper turned back to the mirror and reapplied some blush. "Do you need anything?"

Annabeth shook her head. "No… I- I just wanted to check on you."

Piper closed the blush compact and put it in a small bag along with the rest of her makeup. "You sure?"

Annabeth folded her arms and looked at the floor. "Well, there is something..."

Piper linked arms with Annabeth. "I'm gonna go put this makeup back. We'll talk while we walk."

Annabeth smiled gratefully and they walked out of the bathroom and to the barracks. Piper had to lift up her form-fitting red dress so it wouldn't get dirty. Luckily, Annabeth's light blue dress wasn't floor length so she didn't have to worry about dirt.

"So, whatcha need?" Piper asked her friend.

"Well, this might sound dumb, but I feel like Percy's cheating on me." Annabeth replied.

Piper was stunned for a minute. It would make sense… Piper had a weird feeling about Percy and Reyna… But Percy's fatal flaw was loyalty! How could he cheat on Annabeth?

"I mean, it would explain why our relationship has been feeling, well, off ever since we came to Camp Jupiter," Annabeth continued. "Am I just paranoid?"

Piper was silent for a few seconds, but replied, "Well, I wouldn't worry if I were you. I mean, his fatal flaw is loyalty, right? Didn't you tell me that?"

Annabeth nodded, her gray eyes glinting. "Yeah, I forgot about that."

"Besides, you're too amazing to be cheated on," Piper said, nudging her friend. "Who wouldn't want to be with you?"

Annabeth smiled. "Thanks… But… I mean, things just don't feel like they did."

Piper paused. "It's probably just pre-war jitters."

Annabeth nodded. "Y-yeah, you're right. Thanks, Pipes."

Piper nodded. "Anytime, girl. Here, I'll put these back." At this point, they were at the barracks and Piper quickly ran in and placed the bag near her bunk before heading back out.

"Does my hair look fine?" Piper asked Annabeth as they walked back to the mess hall.

Annabeth nodded. "Yeah. Wait." She stopped Piper and and adjusted a bobby pin in Piper's braid bun. "There."

Piper nodded. "You're the best, Chase."

"Thanks for the advice on Percy, McLean," Annabeth said.

The two walked back in silence. Piper secretly felt bad. How could she just lie to her friend about Percy? I mean, it wasn't a complete lie. Piper didn't know for sure if Annabeth's boyfriend was cheating. It was best not to get Annabeth worried, especially tonight.

Reyna's POV

"Percy, again?" Reyna said, smiling at the sea-green eyed boy in fron of her. "We alreay danced!"

"I know, but I'm taking advantage of Annabeth being gone for a bit," Percy said, grinning. "Come on."

Reyna laughed as Percy lead her back to the spot they had been dancing earlier. Before Reyna could think better of it, she kissed him quickly on the lips.

"Woah, I hope no one saw that," Reyna said, blushing.

Percy grinned, closer to her than ever. "I wouldn't even care if someone did."

He leaned in, touching his lips to hers again. He placed his hand on either side of her head, his palms on the wall. Basically, he had just pinned her to a wall. Another cliche, but it was so romantic. Reyna broke away. "You sure your not drunk?"

Percy smirked. "We don't even have alcohol here. Besides, I'm underage."

Reyna grinned. "You seem drunk."

"No, I think I'm just high on Oxytocin," Percy said, dropping his hands and scooting back a bit.

"Isn't that the love chemical? Wow, I'm suprised you know what that is," Reyna joked.

Percy was about to say something in return, when a voice spoke on their left. "I'm sorry, am I interrupting?"

Percy sneered. Octavian. "No, we were just chatting," Percy lied.

Octavian narrowed his eyes. "I see. Well, why can't you chat inside the mess hall?"

"Why aren't you in the mess hall, Centurion?" Reyna asked, butting in.

"I was, uh, using the restroom," Octavian said, though it was clear he was lying.

"Hmm. Well, we were just heading back in. Why don't you?" Reyna replied.

Octavian huffed. "That's where I was going anyways."

"Alright," Reyna said.

"Alright," Octavian repeated.

Reyna gave Percy a look and he seemed to understand. They headed back inside, Octavian following behind.

"That was close," Percy said under his breath.

"Yeah…" Reyna replied. "Too close."

So, how'd you like it? Sorry, I got it out later then a week, but as I said, I'm not gonna post as frequently during the summer. I hope those who are on their summer break, or are just enjoying summer are having a good time! If you're in winter right now, have fun with that… Anyways, I really enjoyed writing this update, especially all the cute Preyna moments! I'm really glad I decided to write this dance. Anyways, review, review, and REVIEW!
