Warning: Implied innuendos in first section

Laxus glanced downwards as soon as a soft moan reached his ears. He didn't stop walking, just kept glancing down at the girl in his arms. When is the last time I had a girl in my arms and it wasn't sex related? He mused, smirking a little as memories of his more...wild exploits resurfaced. Lucy groaned and reshuffled herself in his arms, her nose screwing up before her expression settled in an adorable pout. Laxus raised an eyebrow and shook his head, not bothered by the girl's weirdness. She was a member of Fairy Tail, weirdness was a given.

Ribbons of sunlight filtered through the trees, walking his body. His nose absorbed the heady earth scent that surrounded him, the scent relaxing him. Despite being a Lightning Mage, the earth had always calmed him, something about its constancy and loyalty put his mind at ease. It never discriminated, just stayed there loyally waiting, embracing any who seeked it out.

He glanced down when he heard the wingbeats of lashes against cheek. Lucy's eyes opened, slight glaze coating them. She cocked her head to the side as her vision focused, her eyebrows skewing together adorably and making Laxus's lips quirk. Wait, adorable? Sure, she's fine as hell but adorable? Get a grip Laxus he berated himself, schooling his expression back into it's impassive grine.

"Nice of you to wake up. You drool," he said to her, internally grinning at her horror stuck expression. She didn't drool, but the chance to mess with her was just too good to pass up. The girl was a spitfire and if he had to be honest, it was sinfully attractive.

"I do not drool, you… you electrician!" she huffed, stuttering as she tried to think of a good comeback.

He raised an eyebrow and smirked at her, amusement making his stormy blue\grey eyes positively glow. She huffed and crossed her arms, a petulant pout on her face. Laxus inwardly pondered when she would realise her position, but decided not to inform her prematurely, it would be way more entertaining to wait to see her organic reaction. An internal lecturous grin formed when he smugly recounted the fact that he never did anything prematurely, so why start now?

"Um Laxus?" Lucy asked hesitantly, making the colossal man look down at her with a raised brow, "why are you here?" she asked innocently, her mind working a mile a minute.

Laxus snorted, getting a quizzical look from the blonde. "That's what you want to ask me considering your current situation?"He kept his gaze on her and watched amusedly as she took stock of where she was.

Screaming, the blonde started wiggly and demanding to be let go, which he refused. He could have at any point, but not only was her reaction hilarious she was comfortable to hold, so she could deal with it. "Not a chance Blondie, what has your team gotten themselves into this time?"

Lucy just looked at him before muttering things under her breath that made him chuckle, the vibrations thundering around his chest. Sighing in resignation, Lucy gave up, knowing this man was a Dreyer, and despite their power, it only meant one thing.

They were annoyingly stubborn.

Brain frowned as he sensed both Angel and Racer had been defeated. He knew there would be some casualties, but he had expected them from the other team, not his. He hadn't spent years training and moulding them into his own personal pawns for them to lose so spectacularly fast. He could sense that Hoteye was battling two very powerful members, and knew that they would win if they didn't get the upper hand now. Grumbling to himself, he stalked to the back of the cave, paying no mind to the blue head girl's prone form that lay splayed on the cracked earth.

"Midnight, awaken," he said firmly and crisply, making the boy's eyes open instantaneously.

"What is it that you need, father?" Midnight asked, hovering in his corner.

"This entire plan is not working the way we intended it to. First the Requip mage was not the one poisoned, then Angel lost to the one who was. Racer has been defeated and Cobra is out stalking Jellal. I need you to level the playing field my son," Brain said firmly, his tone unyielding.

"Of course, father. Whom will you have me help first?" Midnight asked, sitting up straighter on his magic carpet..

"Hoteye, they have two members. Go make it even." He said, and Midnight nodded, floating out the mouth of the cave without another word.

He winced at the light, shutting his eyes to protect himself from the light. He shut his eyes and weaved his magic, refracting the light so he and his carpet would become invisible. It took effort for him to do, but he didn't want to have to deal with any of the so-called allies until he found Hoteye, the insects would just get in his way. Shutting his eyes again he cast out his magic, tugging on the invisible threads that Brain had sewn between them with Cobra's help. Locating Hoteye, Midnight made his way oever, using his magic to propel himself forward, mentally stealing himself for might even be a decent battle after all.

Hoteye was breathing heavily, the combined powers of the mages before him providing him with difficulty. He had to focus to keep his control over the earth, forcing it to stay liquid and under his control. The other Earth Mage kept trying to assert his dominance over their collective element, turning it solid and unyielding. If that wasn't hard enough, Hoteye had to keep dodging attacks with more dexterity that someone of his size should be able to manage, enraging Erza.

"Pentagram Sword!" Erza exclaimed, using her magic to slash her swords in a pentagram shape directly onwards Hoteye.

Hoteye managed to doge by liquifying the earth below himself, sinking into it to avoid most of the damage. He pushed his magic out and she shot out, soaring into the air to avoid Jura's Iron Rock Fist, the Gauntlet type arm rocketing toward him.

"Only thing more fun than this battle is money," Hoteye said, taking control of Jura's rocks and liquefying them into sludge.

Erza growled, her annoyance peaking. She kept analysing Hoteye for ebay weaknesses, but it appeared him and Jura were masters of their element and Erza was creating a mere annoyance for the other redhead. Garing she racked her mind for the next best option, when one of her lesser used armors came into mind. "Requip!" she shouted, transforming in a display of light. "Ataraxia Armor!" she shouted, her armor forming around her. The wings pulsed, allowing her to levitate. Summoning one to her hand, she made a series of complex slashes, each one appearing on Hoteye's body. The man cried out as he collapsed to one knee, but Erza didn't stop, just kept slashing, taking up all her pent up anger out on the man.

Jura watched on in awe, watching as Erza single handedly hurt the man before them. "Jura," she shouted, amidst her slashes, drawing his attention. "Go on, I can take care of him. There is no need for us to bother to linger," she said. Jura hesitated for a moment then nodded, knowing that the girl was right.

"Stay strong… Saint Erza," he said, whispering the last part so she couldn't hear. Without another word, he was off, leaving the woman that he knew, without a doubt, could handle it.

Natsu and Gray soared above the forest, Happy holding Natsu and Carla holding Gray. they kept their eyes trained below them, booking for any sign of their comrades. They didn't speak, their minds totally focused. Memories and plans circle around their minds, caught in a rip they couldn't possibly escape from. Both knew they had to speak eventually, but neither could find the right words, so instead they sunk into a silence as if it was a bubble bath.

"Okay Natsu," Gray asid, finally getting sick of the silence. "What is our target?"

Natsu sighed, looking up from the earth. "We are looking for Wendy, and checking to see if there are any others we need to take out. The smaller their forces, the easier it will be to destroy them." Natsu said, getting a nod from Gray.

"That sounds like a plan. Happy, do you have any idea where they went after they left you?" Gray asked, talking a little louder than usual to be heard over the rushing wind.

Shaking his head, Happy looked down, tears pooling in his eyes. "I've been trying to remember, but I can't," he whimpered, avoiding eye contact.

"It's okay little buddy, we'll find Wendy and Luce will be good as new!" Natus cheered, getting an "Aye, Sir!" for his efforts.

Gray and Carla sighed at Happy's mood swings before resigning themselves to his whims. And it wasn't like Natsu would ever stop coddling him. Gray kept looking around them, hovering above the canopy. A flicker of strawberry blond caught his attention and he squinted. Is that? He thought, his eyes widening. It is! It's Hibiki!

I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter, a little over 1500 words. Laxus is fun to write for me and I hope you enjoyed his dialogue.
