This is #6 of 4. :) I do wish my muse would behave herself; I have one other longer story awaiting inspiration. Anyway: this is set one day after my 5th short story, and covers Jennifer meeting Ursula Greenwood again, a former lover. Couldn't resist this one, either.

My favourite UFO story! The UN Security Council wants Kelly to play in a high-stakes poker game, shades of 007, to secure SHADO funding - and to check out a possible collaborator and his daughter. But as usual with the Aliens, nothing is quite what it seems...

Anyway: after the Alien coup d'etat (see UFO 1: Invasion!), Kelly decides to chill with an escort from an agency run by a former operative (she's immune to the amnesia drug, but Kelly trusts her). She has family issues - her daughter's dying. But that's not all there is to it...

A short flashback, the story of what happened in 1969, before Leila Carlin's abduction, before the case study mentioned in 'A Question Of Priorities, Redux' - it's set before any connection was made by the authorities and/or the military between abductions/mutilations, sabotages and UFO sightings. But how did SHADO start? What was the trigger event? Here's a possible answer...
