Out of curiosity, most of the things you pointed out are things that were part of the original Fanfiction's timeline, why didn't you point them out in the original?
2025: in October the Second American Civil War begins, most major cities and coastal areas join in open rebellion against the government after an extremely controversial constitutional amendment is passed by Congress.
The military is split with 1/3 of the Navy and Air Forces joining the rebel factions alongside 1/5 of the national Guard. But the supermajority of the army and Marine Corp align with the government.
After the war begins the night of the blue reaper takes place, seeing the death of 80% of high-level government officials by the rebels during a raid from military forces in Maryland, who mostly joined the rebellion, leaving control of the government mostly in the hands of the military.
2026: although the rebel factions combined control 45% of the population and 62% of the industry, they are separated into several significant pockets mostly containing individual cities entirely surrounded.
By the end of 2026 no significant rebel strongholds reman further than 100 km from the coast.
The battle of Las Vegas is the most significant battle of the year, with 30,000 rebel militiamen and National Guard troopers supported by 2000 paratroopers fighting against 42,000 Nevada National Guard troopers and 8000 Army soldiers. The battle concludes with the defeat of the rebels and the destruction of the Las Vegas enclave.
2027: The Battle of Chesapeake Bay takes place with 200 rapidly constructed fast attack craft destroying the USS Abraham Lincoln, USS Essex, and USS George Washington alongside seven cruisers , 12 destroyers and five frigates. This leaves an opening for the USS Gerald R Ford , USS Theodore Roosevelt, and 22 other military ships to escape into the Atlantic.
To fill the gap left by the US withdrawal Japan, India, Australia,South Korea, and 15 other nations create the Pacific union and combine all of their militaries under a centralized command structure and begins plans for full integration.
2028: The battle of San Diego becomes the deadliest battle in American history. Over 400,000 Marine, National guard, and Army personnel fight against 60,000 California guardsmen and half a million militiamen. The battle turns to tragedy when a loading mishap causes a 1 Mt nuclear bomb to be dropped on the city killing 1.5 million people. This leads to a limited nuclear exchange causing 12 million deaths and the destruction of 21 cities including Annapolis, Pittsburgh, Kansas City, and Richmond.
The escaped Maryland rebel fleet is chased around the Caribbean until it is caught and destroyed in the battle of Cuba, which becomes the largest naval battle since World War II with over 100 military vessels fighting and 40 not making it out.
2029: In March the California enclave is captured, destroying the final continental enclave. six months later the Hawaii enclave falls alongside the final rebel aircraft carrier.
This leaves the United States under a military dictatorship with army general John Johnson as the president.
2032: North Korea attacks South Korea and begins an attempt to conquer the entire peninsula. The Pacific Union sends in military force to support its member nation leading to North Korea being pushed back to the Chinese border.
As Pacific Union forces get near the Chinese border the People's liberation Army attacks, in response the Pacific union declares war against the Peoples Republic of China.
Under the stress of the war the United Nations dissolves.
The Russian federation attempts to invade the European Union with any possible foreign support occupied. World War III has begun. Both the European Union and the Pacific Union choose to cooperate as the Russian federation and People's Republic of China choose to do the same, while the United States recovers from the 2nd American Civil War.
2033: The second battle of Tsushima takes place with the Chinese carriers 02, 03, and 04 alongside 30 escorts guarding 20 transports that are going to attempt a landing on the Japanese home islands. They are intercepted by the HMS Queen Elizabeth, PUS Sydney, and PUS Tokyo Supported by eight destroyers, 12 Frigates, and five helicopter destroyers. The battle ends in a tactical defeat for the UK and Pacific Union with the Queen Elizabeth and Tokyo destroyed alongside nine other ships, but a strategic defeat for the Chinese with 17 of the 20 transports destroyed along side the 03 ,making the invasion unfeasible and destroying the best Chinese equipment and personnel.
The Russian federation is pushed back and loses a significant amount of its territory including Moscow. A famous photo is produced with a Ukrainian army sergeant raising a European Union flag over the Kremlin.
2034: The United States and numerous other countries join the war on the side of the European and Pacific union.
2036: The Third World war ends with China having a revolution leading to the Peoples Republic of China being removed and the Chinese Federation taking its place. The war takes the lives of 134 million people.
2038: the UK rejoins the EU
2040: The United States becomes a democracy again with the death of John Johnson to diabetes.
2042: The Pacific Union becomes a government instead of a military alliance with the creation of the union parliament.
2044: the machine-human interface system, originally designed by the Union during the later years of the was is finally entered into the civilian market, to massive success.
2045: the second space race begins on the 100th anniversary of the end of the Second World War, when Jacqueline O'Neill of the European Union becoming the first human in space since the beginning of World War III.
2046: the United Nations is reformed with significantly more power then it's previous iteration.
2047: The first permanent settlement is created on the moon by the United States. Armstrong outpost is primarily concerned with mining and production of materials for space habitats and further expansion. It is the first human settlement powered entirely by renewables with large mirrors focusing sunlight onto solar panels at the settlement. By the end of the decade all the major powers have moon bases
2049: The Pacific Union begins construction of a L5 space station named new Tokyo . Its main features are a 250 m diameter 1200 m long habitat drum capable of holding 50,000 people, a large nuclear fission reactor , and the first Space space based shipyard.
2057: The first fusion reactor is created capable of effective power generation. Within the first year 112 plants are planned for construction across the entire planet.
Plans for space based reactors have already begun. New Tokyo is completed.
2058: Plans for the international interplanetary transport station have been approved and construction begins. It is designed to use multi kilometer diameter mirrors to focus light from the sun and use it to propel spaceships across interplanetary distances.
2070: IITS Finishes construction and launches the first wave of colony ships across the system.
2090: human civilization on earth now has zero carbon emissions
2100: Over 5 million people live in orbit, and a quarter million across the solar system. In an attempt to create an interstellar civilization a ship containing 10,000,000 people in newly created stasis pods are sent at 10% The speed of light to Proxima Centauri.
2150: The colonists in Proxima Centauri make contact with sol. It is discover that there is a prosperous colony on Proxima 2 which the colonists named Foothold.
Both systems stay connected, trading communications at the speed of light. Proxima Centauri has three planets and two astroid belts.
2172: a prospector in the Proxima Centauri asteroid belt discovers a previously unknown element which can manipulate dark energy. Research begins immediately. It is believed this element could be the key to faster than light travel
2175: first prototype faster than light vessel begins test trials. The Archimedes I test vessel is capable of moving 10 times the speed of light, but it's incapability of removing heat while moving faster than light, restricting it to only short jumps before having to radiate the heat away.
It is proposed to use the element to create a corridor of distorted space large enough for a laser to travel through to deliver information faster than light.
2176: the information about element zero reaches the Sol system, and factions within the human home system begin searching for the elements.
2177: the Archimede II is equipped with a heat sink similar to those found in military warships that allow them to fight with a level of heat waste creation surpassing their radiation ability. This allows the vessel to spend significantly longer in FTL then it's predecessor, the vessel is capable of operating for eight hours at a maximum speed of 1/16 of a light year per day.
2178: first generation faster than light communication systems begin production. Capable of moving information nearly instantaneously, it revolutionizes human communication, but it still has major flaws. The system currently cannot be used under significant (over 1 meter per second squared ) acceleration, limiting faster than light communication to stationary platforms, and the first generation system only has a maximum range of eight light hours. Researchers continually attempt to improve both the Ftl com and the FTL drive.
2179: United States sponsored prospectors discover a deposit of element zero on Ganymede. The US immediately stakes a claim and sets up a mining colony named New Philadelphia. Due to the extremely rushed construction in the beginning conditions are rather poor.
The Archimedes III begins operation, the ship did not increase the speed of the FTL drive, but it drastically increased its service life compared to the Archimedes II which had to stop testing a year after it's completion due to engine damage, alongside using a improved heat sink to increase endurance. Its first major test is flying to a garden world in orbit of Alpha Centauri A. The trip takes a little under a week despite the 1/16 light years per day speed due to the need it to radiate heat.
The ship would make this run multiple times, collecting data and transporting equipment and personnel to the garden world. The world is named Alexandria after the, recently deceased in an accident, captain of the vessel that transported the colonists to Proxima Centauri, Alexandra Athanasiou.
2181: USSS St. Louis, an Annapolis class cruiser, became the first human ship equipped with eezo enhanced weapons when it's standard railguns were replaced with eezo enhanced version that dramatically increased their effectiveness. The majority of major nations and corporations have located some form of element zero deposit or have come to deals with those who have and the militaries are attempting to equip themselves with eezo enhanced equipment. A new arms race begins.
The 50,000 ton SS Hermes becomes the first non-experimental faster than light capable vessel. It and it's seven sister ships are used to transport personnel and equipment to Alpha Centauri from Proxima.
Archimedes IV is completed and represents a substantial increase in FTL capabilities, with double the speed of the III, though it did lose four hours of endurance for this. Experiments begin with decreasing heat dissipation time by dumping heat into a thick, cold atmosphere.
The FTL capable Longboat class probes is introduced. Hundreds of them are sent out to survey Alpha Centauri and objects in interstellar space between Alpha Centauri and Sol
2182: The Archimedes IV attempts the first crossing to the Sol system, unfortunately, it is a failure with the vessel losing functionality 1.23 light years along its journey.
The first faster than light vessel in Sol is completed, the Traveler I created by NASA is significantly more successful than the early Archimedes ships due to a larger number of scientists, and the data from the early vessels, it has capabilities roughly equaling the Archimedes III. Many other nations are working on FTL.
2183: Archimedes V is completed, it is capable of going 1/8 light year a day for 12 hours.
A European Union E class frigate the EUSV Estoc becomes the first faster than light capable warship. The small frigate had a eezo drive core added while it was under construction.
2184: the Archimedes V begins its historic journey across the void to the Sol system. Almost a month after its journey begins, the Archimedes becomes the first ship in human history, to travel to another system faster than light. Its arrival was met with much jubilation and its crew, and the ambassador for the Alpha Centauri system to the United Nations, we are greeted as heroes of humanity. After it's minimal cargo (the ambassador, his aids, his supplies, and a large amount of data) was offloaded, it returned to Alpha Centauri. The vessel would continue making these journeys between the systems.
The first few FTL communication systems begin operating in the Sol system.
2185: With increasingly more elements zero deposits found, Mass Effect tech begins to appear in the civilian market in both the alpha Centauri and Sol systems.
In a relatively controversial decision at the time, the nations of earth decide to combine all of their faster than light research programs under the United Nations Research Division (UNRD).
The Archimedes VI is completed, it is capable of 1/4 light years per day for 16 hours.
There are now dozens of faster than light vessels in both the Sol system, and alpha Centauri system, though the majority of them are limited to 1/16 light years per day and don't leave the system.
One of Alexandria's moons, Aurora, begins to be used as a heat dumping station due to its thick, cold atmosphere.
2186: the second generation faster than light communication system begins production. The second generation design triples the range of the first generation, and allows for use while under acceleration, though limited to only 4 light hours.
The Halcyon transportation corporation complete the SS Ranger, the first interstellar transport. At 160,000 tons its engines are capable of producing 6,000,000,000 N of thrust, it is capable of carrying 8 100x20x20 cargo containers with a total of 254,016 cubic meters of cargo space. The cargo containers can hold bulk materials, more delicate goods, and even 4500 stasis pods per container. The ship is a massive success, and by the end of the decade dozens of similar vessels are in service.
2187: The SS Davy Jones disappears between systems. It's fate will not be done until years later. The joint United Nations-Centauri Republic interstellar communications initiative is announced. The plan is to create a string of faster than light communication boosters between the systems.
The Archimedes VII is completed. It is capable of 1/2 a light year per day for a full 24 hours.
The Centauri population surpasses 30 million. This is mostly due to the 5% population growth rate caused by extremely heavy government encouragement, and subsidies for families, and the popularity of VI childcare, and of artificial wombs that allow for large amounts of children per family and people who would normally be unable to have families due to obligations being capable of having one. Centauri scientists conduct heavy research into genetic engineering, with it and eezo being the most studied fields in the disproportionately large, for the population, Centauri scientific community.
Immigration from the Sol system to, primarily, Alexandria is expected to dramatically increase in the coming years, leading to the belief that the system will over quadruple its population by the end of the 2170s.
2189: the first of the interstellar communications platforms is deployed. It is believed the project will take another 4 years to be completed.
2193: the interstellar communications initiative is completed
2196:The first act of true space piracy occurs when a unidentified small ship attacks a asteroid colony using FTL. There are multiple raids on similar vessels across the entire system, what will be known as the War of the Glowing Sky by future generations begins.
2197:
With 11 ships and 9 colonies under attack or stolen, alongside 13,000 casualties and 4,000 missing individuals, the conflict inflicts significant damage. The United Nations System Security Task Force is established to coordinate the limited number of FTL-capable warships, which are the only vessels capable of responding swiftly enough to counter the attacks. Massive subsidies are granted to fund the construction of faster-than-light communication systems at multiple colonies and on numerous ships.
The Battle of Red Sands marks the initial clash between the military forces of Sol and the Pirates, resulting in shocking outcomes. Red Sands, a small mining colony on Mars with a population of 5,000, is assaulted on June 15 by three pirate vessels. The pirates pillage materials, equipment, kill 900 individuals, and abduct 500 others. As they attempt to escape the planet's gravity well, the pirates are intercepted by the European Union's Third Mars Flotilla, consisting of six E-class frigates and the Genoa-class cruiser EUSV Moscow. However, when the flotilla engages the pirate vessels, their shots are halted by an invisible barrier surrounding the pirate ships. Moreover, the pirate vessels generate nearly three times the amount of energy expected for their size and are equipped with highly advanced and precise laser systems superior to any human technology in production. The pirate ships exhibit unusual movements, sometimes maneuvering without apparent RCS or engine activity. Railgun rounds, kinetic missiles, and shrapnel missiles, which are typically lethal in human space combat, bounce off the pirates' shields, while high-explosive and HEAT missiles are neutralized by their lasers. The battle concludes with the entire Third Flotilla either disabled or destroyed, and the pirates escape the area.
The demand for element zero to upgrade military vessels surpasses the amount available from deposits within the Sol system, compelling the UN to import element zero from the significantly richer Alpha Centauri system.
Non-element zero military ships, whether operating individually or in small groups, become targets of pirate attacks. By the end of the year, 27 warships are destroyed. Additionally, 19 civilian ships and 12 colonies come under attack, resulting in an additional 9,000 deaths and 5,000 missing individuals.
2198:
A cargo ship carrying eezo from Alpha Centauri is attacked and destroyed while in Earth's orbit, causing eezo contamination along the Atlantic coast of North America. The UN forces achieve a victory by destroying a pirate vessel during an attack on a Chinese flotilla, effectively crushing the pirates between the Chinese and United Nations forces. Examination of the wreckage reveals that several crew members of the pirate vessel appear to be those previously kidnapped by the pirates. Furthermore, all of the bridge officers and the chief engineer are identified as passengers or crew members of the SS Davy Jones. Undeterred by these startling revelations, scientists commence the reverse engineering of the advanced technology found aboard the vessel.
The pirates shift their focus to primarily targeting American assets around Jupiter, forcing the American Jupiter Fleet to disperse in order to protect as many highly populated colonies as possible. They subsequently attack New Philadelphia, which remains the largest element zero mine in the system. With the Jupiter Fleet spread thin, only 16 vessels orbit the colony to defend it against five pirate ships. Against all odds, they manage to withstand the pirates' assault and delay the destruction of the colony until FTL ships arrive to repel the pirates. Two additional pirate ships are destroyed, but at the cost of 11 American non-element zero ships and 5 eezo ships.
2199:
The final major genetic disorder is eradicated through gene therapy. The United Nations initiates a wartime economy, marking the first instance of such measures since the conclusion of World War Three. Meanwhile, the pirates launch a major offensive, rapidly attacking dozens of colonies and vessels without taking anything, instead opting to destroy everything from orbit or by detonating the ships. This forces the UN ships to constantly maneuver, overheating them rapidly and making them vulnerable.
While the eezo ships are distracted, the pirates target the Earth-Lunar L5 Lagrange point, the heart of the Sol system's shipbuilding capabilities. Nearly 60% of the system's shipyards are concentrated at this crucial location. If the pirates manage to inflict even moderate damage on the facilities, the system's shipbuilding capacity would be crippled for decades. In defense of this vital location, 80 warships and over 200 lightly armed civilian vessels engage in battle against 15 pirate ships. Missile volleys obliterate ships, railguns tear vessels apart, and space station defenses cause catastrophic damage. Ultimately, reinforcements arrive to relieve the defenders and drive off the pirates, but only four ships remain. The battle exacts a horrific toll, with 49 warships—almost one-sixth of the combined fleet of all nations—and over 100 civilian ships destroyed. Tens of thousands perish in the battle, and countless others are injured.
A new class of warship, specifically designed toutilize element zero, is developed from the ground up. Although these vessels are only frigate-sized, they prove highly effective and can be rapidly produced in large numbers. Their effectiveness is further enhanced by reverse-engineering the pirate shields, gravity movement system, artificial gravity, and some reactor improvements. The new ships boast twice the expected reactor power for their size and are equipped with shields. Construction begins on the first 30 ships of this class, and a few months later, they are completed. Each vessel is named after significant battles in human history, with the first one named Red Sands. These warships mark the United Nations' first direct control of a fleet, as the vessels in the UNSSTF still belong to their respective nations. The ships are christened as UNV (United Nations Vessel).
2200:
No major attacks occur for the first six months of the year, allowing the UN to recuperate and produce 90 Red Sands vessels. At any given time, 90 of these warships are under construction, with 30 completed each month. The Centauri Republic becomes significantly concerned as the UN's monthly production surpasses the total number of ships produced by the entire Centauri Republic in a year.
After six months, the attacks resume. Multiple attacks take place every day across the system, but the UN warships have improved their ability to defeat the pirates. In the first month of the new offensive, out of 90 attacks, UN forces successfully interrupt 75 attacks, with only minimal damage caused by the pirates. Throughout these battles, the UN manages to destroy five more pirate vessels.
However, three months into the new offensive, everything changes. A swift attack stretches the UN forces thin across the system. During this vulnerable period, the pirates strike at the heart of humanity, Earth.
Over two dozen missing cargo ships enter Earth's orbit. The remaining defensive ships, most of which have been retrofitted or positioned at the L5 Lagrange point to defend the shipyards, attempt to intercept the vessels but are halted by a formidable pirate force. The cargo ships penetrate Earth's upper atmosphere and release their devastating payload, giving rise to the war's name.
A massive amount of element zero is dropped onto Earth, with the most densely populated areas being the primary targets. This contaminates a vast portion of the population with element zero. While the UN reinforcements manage to destroy the majority of the cargo and pirate ships, it is already too late. The event claims the lives of 500 million people, surpassing the death toll of all three world wars combined. Billions are contaminated with element zero, but fortunately, many can be saved. The affected areas of Earth suffer severe damage to the ecosystem.
The Alpha Centauri system reaps enormous profits from the war. Cargo ships laden with eezo leave the system, returning with money, valuable goods, or substantial amounts of UN debt. However, perhaps even more valuable are the people fleeing the Sol system. Due to the high cost of interstellar transport and the challenges of transferring large sums of money between systems, most immigrants are skilled workers, scientists, engineers, doctors, and others. Consequently, Sol experiences a massive brain drain, particularly following the Glowing Sky event, which triggers a significant increase in immigration.
2201:
The fastest breeding species in the contaminated areas begins showing unusual abilities. Research begins into these ability.
The United Nations purchases the majority of the human interstellar probes in existence, in order to find the location of the pirate base, significantly supplementing the already existing search effort.
There are multiple more attacks across the system, countless died or are taken and the UN struggles to fight off the Pirates.
Eventually, in the late days of the year, a probe manages to find a previously undocumented settlement on a large asteroid a light years from earth. The probe records multiple pirate vessels orbiting the asteroid and sends the information to the UN.
A colossal fleet is put together to destroy the menace once and for all. Over 300 warships and 100 support ships, the largest force of spaceships in human history, sets sail only a few weeks after getting the report.
The leaving of this force, consisting of most of humanities remaining heavy warships and Red Sands vessels, leaves the Sol system very vulnerable, but this only lasts for a short time as once the Pirates understand where the force are going they begin attacking it in rapid raids. The fleet has to travel in short jumps, using a fraction of their heat sinks, to ensure they are combat ready for if the Pirates attack. It takes days to reach the base and the fleet lost 60 warships and 20 support vessels on the way, at the cost of a dozen pirate ships.
The fleet was met with the entire remaining pirate fleet, dozens of the terrifyingly powerful vessels stand in the way of humanity's largest fleet. Until the last major battle of the first contact war, this battle would hold the title of the largest space battle in human history.
The fleets rip into each other, the Pirates with the fanatical zeal of cultists and the UN crews with The spirit of a vengeful people. Over 100,000 die in the void, the greatest fleet humanity has ever brought together is whittled down to less than half its original number, but the Pirates are wiped out.
The UN begins the attack on the base, sitting at a long distance, they bombard the defenses, the only structures on the surface besides the entrance. After hours of shelling, leaving nothing above the surface left, transport ships drop off over 20'000 soldiers in EVA combat armor alongside hundreds of thousands of drones in order to attack the facility. The force is primarily composed of the best from all the military's of humanity, even a token force from the, quite small, Centauri special operations division.
After the entrance is blown open, and much of the first levels are destroyed, the soldiers move in. The battle was bloody, tens of thousands of fanatics operated out of the base and they defend it with zeal. Decoy robot troops are put in front of the organic soldiers in order to absorb most of the suicide attacks, while less human looking drones make up the frontal forces.
There are oddities within the structure, while some areas look like they are constructed by humans and wouldn't look out of place on any asteroid colony, others are designed in ways completely unknown and made of materials never created by humanity. As the battle goes on the Pirates advanced technology begins to make sense. They had alien technology to reverse engineer, jumping significantly ahead of the rest of humanity. As the troops go further down the structure, more and more of the base is alien in origin.
As the forces go deeper into the base, the defenses get denser and fiercer, until a force of soldiers make it into a large room with tied up civilians surrounding a large glowing orb. In the firefight between some of the few remaining pirates and UN troops, the orb is destroyed. 18 hours after the troops entered the mine, most of the base is secured. The UN forces found large hydroponic facilities, Omni- forges, mining facilities, shipyards, living areas, training areas, and massive stockpiles of produced and stolen goods. A entire military complex and civilization hidden on a asteroid in the middle of nowhere with a eezo deposit with more of the element then in every deposit in human space combined. It was later learned that it was the second largest deposit in the galaxy, only surpassed by Omega. This deposit would supply human space with eezo for a long time.
Over the course of the next few days the last few pirate ships turn themselves in, not remembering anything about what happened since they were in contact with the orb. The captain of one of the ships, Horatio Jones, reveals the story of the SS Davy Joans.
In 2186, Julia Philips, a worker at the UN Exploration Corp, has the job of looking at survey data from the UN's survey probes. She finds an asteroid with unusual gravitational data, which she believes indicates a potential eezo deposit of unprecedented scale. The asteroid also harbors unknown structures. Driven by her desire for immense wealth and the opportunity to discover an alien civilization, Julia alters the data to make the asteroid appear unremarkable and sends it to her brother John, an independent captain with a state-of-the-art interstellar ship.
They meticulously plan the operation in secret, carefully selecting trustworthy individuals for the mission. Utilizing their family's wealth and John's company's funds, they set sail on the SS Davy Jones in 2187, supposedly heading for Alpha Centauri. However, upon dropping out of FTL, they change course and make their way to the asteroid, establishing a base and commencing exploration of the ancient ruins.
Over the next few months, they uncover fascinating discoveries. They learn that the mine on the asteroid dates back 50,000 years and find countless pieces of functioning technology, including mining infrastructure and shipyards.
With the aid of human technology, they repair the facilities, surpassing the capabilities of any human mines or shipyards.
After five months of operation, just a month before their planned return to human space to sell the eezo, they stumble upon an enigmatic orb. Bringing it in for study, they unknowingly subject themselves to its influence.
Gradually, the orb begins to alter their brains, resulting in extreme changes. By the time the doctor realizes the extent of the damage, it is too late. The few remaining members, including Jones and Julia, who are minimally affected, attempt to remove the orb but either get killed or are forced to remain near it, succumbing to its influence.
This marks the beginning of the force that unleashes death and destruction upon Sol.
Horatio and the other pirate are executed. Some individuals accept their fate or even agree with it, such as Horatio, who learns that he unwittingly defended the cargo ship responsible for dropping eezo on his hometown, causing the deaths of 30% of the population, including many of his family members. Others attempt to resist, but their efforts prove futile in the face of an enraged population seeking vengeance.
The UN initiates research on the facility and endeavors to reverse engineer the remaining technologies.
The Centauri Republic, fearing falling further behind in technology, demands a joint venture with the UN. In response, the UN presents a counter offer.
Recognizing the crucial importance of cooperation facilitated by the UN in countering the pirate forces, the nations agree to dissolve the UN and establish a more extensive organization, the Systems Alliance. The UN extends an invitation to the Centauri Republic to join forces, providing protection against the threats lurking in the void. Ultimately, the Centauri Republic agrees, and the planning of the Systems Alliance commences.
It is expected to take 15 years for the full absorption of the nations' ground forces, whereas navy consolidation is projected to require only 5 years due to the cooperation forged during the war.
2202:
all the research agencies of the countries begin consolidating under the Systems Alliance Research Division.
The Alliance takes control of the asteroid, renaming it Pandora. During this time, the observation of the first human biotic occurs.
A Swedish baby girl levitates her favorite toy into the air. She and several other children, exhibiting unusual nodules in their brains, become subjects of observation.
The research team investigating the abilities of contaminated animals assumes the responsibility of studying these children and others with similar powers. They begin referring to them as telekinetics.
As the Sol economy gradually recovers from the war, eezo reintegrates into the civilian market. Furthermore, while emigration to Alpha Centauri slows down, millions of individuals continue to depart each year in search of new opportunities and a fresh start.
2203:
The Archimedes X, started under the CR and completed under the SARD, is completed with many technologies from the ruins and the pirates. It is the most advanced ship in human history and is such a jump in ability that it is designated as a second-generation interstellar vessel, with the Red Sands and some of the most advanced earlier ships as gen 1.5 ships, while all others are called first gen. It can go 2 light years per day.
The first fully operational mass accelerator is completed. Originally designed during the war with only prototypes completed by its end, the first mass accelerator in military service is 60 meters long and is capable of launching a 100 kg slug at 300 kilometers per second every 6 seconds, with a total yield of over a kiloton. The weapon is put on an orbital defense platform design that is beamed power from an outside source to maximize mobility and minimize heat waste and weight. Countless ODPs, designated ODP mark one Gada (a type of blunt weapon from India), are constructed and placed across human space.
The Pandora mine begins to reenter operation and supply human space with eezo. A new generation of advanced probes begins construction in large numbers. Exploration of nearby systems begins.
The first second-generation warships begin planning and design.
2204:
The Advanced Experimental Exoatmospheric Fighter Program starts in an attempt to create a faster-than-light capable fighter for the use of the Systems Alliance.
Elections take place, and the Alliance Parliament begins operation, hosted in the previous UN building until the capital space station, capable of FTL travel, is completed. Its construction is believed to be 50 years in the future due to its size and the wish to wait for more advanced technology to construct the engines and weapons. The station is designed with the capability to defend itself against entire fleets of warships, sacrificing heat-intensive kinetic barriers for insanely thick armor. It is also designed to hold a large amount of fighters, drones, and even ships. The design is meant to be future-proof, as the majority of its offensive capabilities (its complement) are easily swappable. Many decry the colossal station as a massive waste of resources, but this is ignored.
The Alliance Parliament's first act is to restrict colonization outside of the Sol and Alpha Centauri systems until the navy is capable of protecting those systems.
2206:
The SA fleet is fully integrated.
2207:
The second generation of warships and combat platforms is completed. Two new classes are created: carriers and destroyers. Carriers are designed to fit the already created exterior design of the experimental fighter, carrying them and vast swarms of drones into battle. Destroyers, on the other hand, come in two varieties: fleet destroyers and patrol destroyers. Fleet destroyers are designed to close with the enemy and strike them with their carronades, weapons that fire projectiles significantly larger than MA rounds meant to deliver their warheads without the expense in cost and space of missile or torpedo engines. Patrol destroyers are designed like small cruisers, meant to fill in the gaps of alliance formations where there are not enough cruisers, a common occurrence due to the rapidly escalated size of cruisers.
The economy of Sol fully recovers from the war.
2208:
A probe finds a Garden world in orbit of Epsilon Eridani.
There are multiple requests to lift the travel ban in order to begin colonization, but all are rejected.
2216:
The SA Army is fully integrated. Human medical technology has advanced to the point that, theoretically, a human could live forever.
2218:
The F-1 Saber is completed.
2220:
Proposals to decrease military funding to a lower level are rejected. The human population surpasses 20 billion after over a century-long stagnation, with 4 billion on Alexandria and over 14 billion on Earth.
The alliance finally acquiesces to the demands to allow colonization of Epsilon Eridani but sends a 100-ship strong military fleet to safeguard the system and a larger civilian fleet to prepare it for habitation. Defenses and essential infrastructure are constructed for the system.
2225:
The SA creates the one-day policy, stating that any system that can be reached by an SA fleet in one daycan be allowed to be colonized. All systems within 4 light years around the three main systems are colonized, though that isn't many.
2230:
Project Gia begins. The project's goal is to terraform the parts of earth that are less habitable.
2245:
Project Gia is completed
2250:
A prospector on Mars discovers alien ruins. The SA takes over the area and begins excavation. These ruins are smaller than asteroid ruins but are in better condition and have a form of archive with massive amounts of information. Humanity has long since translated the alien language, but the sheer size of the archive makes it difficult to translate. However, eventually the SA will learn much from the ruins, including the name of the species, Prothian.
2251:
The SA learns about a structure within the Sol system from the ruins, the mass relay. They also learn how it works and gain the relay coordinates of all clusters known to the Prothians in the Orion Vault.
The SA secures the relay and turns Pluto into a fortress, installing hangars and reactors to power the hundreds of ODPs brought from across human space on Pluto and its moons. The defenses around the relay are named the Cerberus defense grid.
The third generation fleet initiative begins
2252: The first fleet sends dozens of probes to all the connected systems until they send a small crewed ship, captained by John Grissom, to the Arcturus system, the heart of the sector's local network.
After the test ship successfully passes through the relay without harm to humans, the SA begins to set up in the Arcturus system. The fleet there is meant to respond to threats in the other clusters connected to the system and act as a delaying force for any potential alien fleet coming through the primary relays, giving the local cluster time to reinforce the relay. Preliminary expeditions to the other clusters are prepared.
2253: The expeditions are launched towards the clusters through the relays.
The first third-gen warships begin production, incorporating several improvements from the ruins.
Requests to colonize the clusters are rejected until the areas can be properly defended.
2254: The Capital station is completed. Instead of using it as a capital, the SA decides to use it as a command base and battle station in Arcturus, giving the station its name, Arcturus Station.
2258:
The SA fleet is reorganized. Older ships form flotillas in systems to protect them, while the numbered fleets are stationed at the current four major systems of the alliance. A fifth fleet is also created to be the primary response to any event too big for one of the other fleets alone.
Limited colonization is approved by the SA.
2260: It is discovered how to artificially give humans biotics. Due to the relatively high cost of the procedure, it is currently limited to the extremely wealthy and special forces personnel. It will take 20 years for it to become cheap enough for the entire military to become biotic.
2261:
The dusty plasma radiator is created. The revolutionary design begins implementation in a large number of new human vessels, although some vessels continue to use older designs due to the DPR's ineffectiveness in the atmosphere.
2265:
The SA reclassifies its heavy destroyers as light cruisers and cruisers as heavy cruisers.
2280:
For the first time in human history, more humans live off Earth than on it. The human population surpasses 30 billion.
An unprecedented defense implementation is proposed. The installation is designed around 6 of the largest MA ever proposed at the time, eight 800 m long mass accelerators capable of launching a 2-ton projectile at 4000 km a second every 6 seconds per barrel, leading to a fire rate of 80 rpm for the entire emplacement. Due to it being constructed on the surface of a planetoid, it is equipped with power systems and heat management systems to sustain continuous fire for a long time. The insulation is protected by a large 30 m thick cone of dense metal designed to allow the gun a 90-degree cone of fire, not great for planetary defense, but excellent for relay defense. Redesign is approved, and plans for 14 of them to be constructed, 8 on Pluto and 6 guarding the relays in Arcturus, over the next 20 years are agreed upon.
2287:
A proposal comes up to put the guns from the defense installations on a warship as a mobile relay defense station. After several overhauls of the design and a change in its objectives, the proposal becomes the design for the first class of human dreadnoughts, the Everest class. A prototype is approved for construction, and the creation of future vessels is dependent on the prototype's success.
2290:
The fourth generation fleet initiative begins
2291:
The Everest is considered a complete success and approval for nine others is granted. The first will be the Fuji which will test out a improved design for the class with the plan for the class to be completed over 20 years, first the Fuji then 2 under construction at a time.
2296:
The 2296 election sees a massive change in government, the Ad Astra-Pacifist party alliance gains a majority of the Systems Alliance assembly for the first time in history . Approval is given for both of the primary relays in human space to be opened and most colonization restrictions lifted. Attempts are made to lower military spending, but resistance within the Ad Astra party to the idea leads to less of a decrees then wished. The Ad Astra-Pacifist party alliance still manages to cut funding for the dreadnoughts , leaving Everest and Fuji as the only fully constructed dreadnought, with 2 more uncompleted, and six more canceled.
Humanity sees the largest expansion in history. Colossal colonization initiatives are created by corporations, individuals, and coalitions of private citizens. The primary focus is the clusters in the Orion Vault and the cluster is connected to the primary relays.
2309:
As the final pieces of easily obtained territory is claimed by colonies, though not developed, and humanity begins to search the other sectors, sending expeditions out dozens to hundreds of light years to find secondary relays as, unlike with the Orion Vault, they do not have Prothian maps.
2310:
The Da Ling San system is colonized.
2317:
The Alliance approves a experiment on a dormant primary relay in a cluster found by humanity but currently uncolonized.
A Turian patrol enters the cluster.
