-chapter 36 Shore Leave-

Eventually the next day began, or maybe it wasn't day, the lack of a sun was making things quite confusing. We basically just slept until we didn't feel tired anymore.

"You ready for today Cj?" Phoebe asked shortly after we were both awake. "It's been three days."

"No it's been two days, three days is tomorrow." I tiredly replied. "Nice try baby girl."

"But Cj. We didn't have sex several hours before we made that deal." She defended.

"That doesn't mean they count." I replied. "Just wait till tomorrow princess. Is it really that far away?"

"I don't know. " Phoebe said.

"I'd be worthless if I didn't hold you to that agreement Pheebles, I'm just saying." I added.

"No you wouldn't, you'd be my loverboy." She cheerfully defended.

"We need to get off this train for a bit." I said after I was conscious enough to realize that it was pointless to argue with her.

"The crew haven't set off yet so why don't we go talk to them, and maybe we can spend the day in another world, just messing around for fun, I guess."

"Ooookaaayy." She agreed as we both writhed and wiggled our way out of bed.

After taking a moment to get dressed, we stepped off the bus. We collected Henry and Claire from the coach, and then we headed up to Jack to speak with the crew, who were already busy getting ready for today's run across the nexus.

"Ello, what's going on today?" Jack's driver asked when we approached as his fireman was busy applying grease.

"We need to request a little shore leave in the next world. " I replied. "We've been on that train for too damned long, it would be nice to go out and do some exploring."

"Sounds right by me." He replied. "We'll just finish servicing ol' Jack here as usual and then we'll be good to go, but I have to ask what's wrong with this world?"

"It leads to the middle of a forrest, nothing to really explore." I replied." Here's hoping the next one has a city, or a beach, or something, but no space police."

"You ever see train tracks on the beach? They'd never hold up." The engineer replied.

"Well they can have tracks close to a beach can't they? " I argued.

"Right, but never on the beach." The engineer said.

So in the span of about 2 hours we went one portal up whatever direction we were going, and then we got out of the train again and decided to do some exploring, just for a change of pace. The bus was comfortable and all, but we needed to get out and explore some things, we brought Zari with us as well, without any of her fancy equipment.

"I can't believe we're doing this, this is highly illegal." She complained as we walked towards the portal.

"First off, you're a space police officer, you can explain everything for us, or atleast that's why we're keeping you around. Secondly, as I pointed out earlier, there is no way to tell whether the land behind that portal is controlled by the space police or not. And, I don't know if you know this, but most worlds have absolutely no laws regarding portals whatsoever." I replied.

"Yeah Zari just relax, Cj's right." Phoebe added.

"Are you sure it's a good idea to bring her along?" Henry asked.

"Yeah, she's one of our group now." I said.

"How can you be so sure?" Claire asked.

"Where's she going to go? She doesn't have her equipment and if she tries to run away Phoebe will just cut her off." I replied.

"Are you sure? " Zari mischeviously asked.

"You just worry about behaving or we're putting your butt back on the train." Phoebe scolded, almost as if she was talking to Nina.

"Pheebles, it was your idea to bring her along." I pointed out.

"Well, I can bring her back just as easilly." Phoebe confidently replied.

"Allright, big reveal comming up in a few steps, where do you think it will take us?" I asked everyone in our group.

"Disneyland? " Claire asked.

"Fair enough." I replied.

"Hopefully a beach." Phoebe replied.

"Probably space police HQ." Zarina said.

"Nobody asked you." I replied.

"I was hoping she would say something nice, but I guess not." Phoebe added.

"Fine, maybe it leads to a mall." Zari changed her mind.

"A mall?" I asked.

"Yes, what's wrong with that?" She replied.

"You think a rail line is going to lead to a mall?" I asked.

"Sometimes they have kiddy trains inside." Claire said.

"Would those count though?" I asked. "That's more of a ride than an actual railway, I mean if that's the case, there's just as much chance we could end up on somebody's model train set."

"What if we ended up on Nina's?" Phoebe asked.

"That could be interesting." I replied. "I guess we would technically be back home then."

"Yeah, but we'd be so tiny." Phoebe added.

"Henry, where do you think it will go?" Claire asked.

"As long as we don't get arrested again, I don't care. Anywhere is fine." Henry replied.

"What if it leads to another freezing mountain?" Phoebe asked.

"Then we'll head back to the train and head to the next one." I replied.

So we headed through the portal and found ourselves in a very hot desert with the tracks almost burried in the sand. After looking around for a bit we discovered we were in possibly the most forsaken looking railyard ever. What rails were above the sand were covered with rust, there was a dilapidated wooden depo building, the remains of a cattle feed lot, and some dilapidated freightcars that were mostly made of wood and weathered beyond saving. Attached to the sad looking railyard was what appeared to be a genuine wild west ghost town.

"This isn't a beach." Phoebe exclaimed in dissapointment.

"Well there is some sand." I jokingly replied.

"So should we check this place out a bit more or hope for better luck at the next portal?" I asked.

"This is the wild west, we shouldn't stay here, it's dangerous." Henry insisted.

"I'm not too sure about that. It looks like this place has been abandoned for awhile." I said.

"But why was it abandoned?" Phoebe asked.

"Probably the same reason most ghost towns are, the money dried up." I said as I walked down a dusty main street that hadn't seen any traffic in who knows how long.

"The space police don't have this world yet." Zari said as she looked at the screen of some tamagotchi-sized device she had managed to sneak passed us, it didn't take long for Phoebe to notice.

"Hey! Where'd you get that? " Phoebe said as she seized the device with her powers.

"It's just a locator, it just tells me if there's any other officers or headquarters around, and besides, if this was a space police world they'd be patrolling this portal already." Zari explained.

"What else are you hiding?" Phoebe asked.

"Nothing, that's everything." Zari replied.

"Ok." Phoebe said.

"How do you know she's not lying?" Claire asked.

"I can tell." Phoebe replied.

"You sure? "Claire asked.

"She done it several times." I defended."She can read minds."

"Then why did she ask if she was hiding anything?" Claire asked.

"Makes it easier to read." Phoebe replied.

"Allright, let's try to figure out if there's anywhere here worth going." I said as I was getting tired of just standing around.

"Guys seriously, we could get attacked by indians or something." Henry said out of concern as we reached the end of the main street.

"There's nobody else here at the moment." Phoebe replied.

"Pheebles can hear'em comming from a mile away, we'll be fine." I added.

"Mhm, they can't hide their thoughts." Phoebe insisted.

"That and I don't think we're in the wild west. " I said as I noticed a metal sign nailed to the side of the one of the buildings. It was clearly a much more modern sign with "Private Property, No Tresspassing." printed on it in bright red letters.

"That is clearly a more modern sign." I continued.

"We really shouldn't be here then." Zari said. "They might call the local police on us."

"There's nobody around to call." Phoebe replied, quickly putting that fear to rest.

"Maybe we should go back and get our vehicles?" I asked.

"We might as well just go to the next portal." Henry said.

"Awe come on man, I don't really want to spend the day looking for an ideal place to explore, let's get our vehicles off the train, go for a drive, and see what we can find" I replied.

-2 hours later-

We finally got our bus and Henry's camaro off the train, and through the portal in one piece. We left the ghost town in the dust, and followed along a dirt road that eventually led us to a wide open highway, with a bit of traffic.

As we made our way down the highway Phoebe returned to her usuall job of keeping the bed warm and playing with Mr. Cinders while Zarina was just sitting at the table, unchained, but bored.

Anyway, we wandered down the highway for a bit until we came across a town. Then we found a nice restaurant, and thanks to a bit of manipulation on Phoebe's part, and some encouragement from everyone else aside from Zari, we had a nice meal even though we didn't have any money. The people here also had what would be considered by us as unnaturally red skin, and jet black hair, like Zarina, but thanks to bringing her along we were able to explain that we had some type of strange skin condition. Phoebe also brought her disguise coat along, as her appearence was a bit more difficult to explain. After we enjoyed a nice meal on the house we did some more exploring.

"So what are we doing here exactly besides stealing food?" Zarina asked.

"We're just taking a day off basically. Cj thought it would be more fun to ride on the bus for a day instead of a train." Phoebe replied.

"Well if nothing else it's a nice change of scenery." I replied as we explored the little town, by the time we were done we had probably driven down every street.

"Cj can I drive? I'm bored." Phoebe asked just a few minutes later.

"Yeah, allright, just let me pull over." I replied.

So I pulled over and we switched places, asHenry and Claire pulled over and waited behind us for a bit.

"Here you go now you can hold Mr. Cinders." She said as she handed the little guy over to me.

"Ok." I replied with a slight bit of confusion as I sat across from Zari at the table.

"So this is what you do most of the time? " She asked.

"Yep, pretty much, sometimes we run into bad characters, and we deal with them, but this world seems pretty peaceful so far."

"And you steal food? "She asked.

"We're trying to get back home, we don't have time to get a job in every world we come across and make enough money to buy food. That's one of the bad things about these adventures is that many of these worlds have different currencys so we're effectively broke most of the time."

" But you don't even need to do that, you have meat on the train." Zari protested.

"Yeah well, they don't even know we stole anything, so there, it's not like we're going to do that every day and run the place out of business. Besides, we need to relax a bit because who the heck knows what we're going to go up against next. "

"Do you steal gas too?" She asked.

"No, actually both of our vehicles run on hydrogen derived from water vapor." I said.

"That's highly illegal technology." Zari replied. "They'd put you away for life for that."

"Really?" I asked.

"The space police would." Zari said.

"On all their worlds?" I asked.

"Atleast on mine." She replied. "But if the space police take over a world where it's already well established then they'll leave it be."

"Well, we're not on your world right now, so I think we'll be fine." I said as Phoebe decided to pull off of the highway.

"Pheebles where are we going?" I asked.

"The sign said there was a Casino over this way." She said.

"A casino?" I asked. 'Why are we going to a casino?"

"Because they usually have nice hotels." She replied.

"Pheebles this isn't Vegas, this is, well, I don't really know." I said.

"It looks like Cartucker." Zari chimed in.

"Like what?" I asked.

"It's a state." She explained. " It's in the south, it's all dry like this."

"So like, Texas?" I asked.

"Sure." She said without really undertanding what Texas was.

"Um, we need to get you some geography lessons." I said.

"Or maybe both of you need them and I'm fine." Zari replied.

"-sighs- whatever, and Pheebles get back on the highway, it's not a hotel, it's probably just a casino." I said.

"But what if they have a pool?" She asked.

"I highly doubt they have a pool, they probably just have roulette tables and slot machines." I replied. "And besides that you can't go out in your swimsuit baby you need your disguise here."

"Oh, right." She agreed. "Awwwwe."

"Quil!" Mr. Cinders suddenly chirped as he hopped up onto the table.

"What's wrong little guy?" I asked.

He didn't respond, he just put his front paws up on the window and peared outside.

"What do you see?" I asked. "I can't see anything to worry about right now."

"Quil." He chirped again.

"What's he doing? "Zari asked.

"I think he's just enjoying the view." I replied.

"Cyndaquil." Mr. Cinders chirped in a cheerful manner.

"So where are we going to go then?" Zari asked.

"I don't know, I think we're just trying to find somewhere fun to hang out for a day. Then we'll head back to the train." I said.

"Yeah about that Cj, won't the crew get bored if we just leave them with the train for too long?" Phoebe asked.

"They should be fine, they're the ones that didn't want to come with us." I replied. "Now get back on the highway."

"Well what if we go to the casino and make a bunch of money?" Phoebe said.

"Baby Girl, don't you know how casinos work? " I asked.

"I could use my powers and we could cheat." She replied all too willingly.

"But what if you get caught?" Zari replied.

"Pheebles we can't even use the money outside of this world, so even if we won millions we'd have what? 4 hours to spend it all?" I said." It's not worth the trouble. Now turn around so we can get back on the highway."

"Ok ok , don't kick the tauros." She replied.

"Say wha?" I asked.

"Nevermind." She replied.

"I still think it would be a fun way to spend the day." She replied as she reluctantly turned the bus around.

A few minutes later we were back on the highway, with Henry and Claire following behind, possibly thinking we were lost. A few minutes later we came across a larged fenced-in area with what appeared to be a rollercoaster inside.

"Looks like there's some kind of amusement park here." I said as we passed. "Maybe we can find the entrance?"

"Do you think they're open?" Phoebe asked.

"I don't know, if it's not lets go in anyway, nobody will be there, and it's not a bad place to spend the day." I said.

"That's breaking and entering." Zari said.

"With her powers the local police would never find out, we'll be fine. We're not going to tear the place up, too much." I replied.

"Ok Pheebles it looks like the entrance is up here, get ready to turn off." I said.

"So you're serious? We're really going here?" She asked.

"There's worse places to go." I said as she began to slow down for the turn.

So we stopped for a moment by the gate so Phoebe could unlock it with her powers, and from there we drove in with Henry and Claire following behind. The parking lot was so huge and empty it could sub for a racetrack, as Henry promptly demonstrated.

"What is he doing? He's going to crash!" Phoebe said as he sped across the wide open parking lot.

"Eh, he's just having some fun, come on, let's park up front since we can, they'll probably catch up later." I said.

"If they crash their car we're leaving them here." Pheebles said.

"Eh we'll find them another." I replied.

A bit later we parked the bus and headed into the park, nothing at all was turned on, not even the security cameras. Henry and Claire entered sometime later while Phoebe and I were looking for the power box so we could get some of the attractons running. While Zari nervously followed behind, reluctant to even say anything, she felt very, very bad for breaking into the park, even if it wasn't her idea. If it wasn't for Phoebe's powers she could easily escape, but at this point she wasn't even sure she wanted to. If the space police found out about her reckless lawbreaking she could be fired.

"I think this is it Pheebles, it's padlocked, I need you to open it." I said as I found what I believe was the power box.

Phoebe opened it up, and inside, like most powerboxes, were lots and lots of switches. Fortunately they were nicely labelled, so they we were able to turn on certain rides and attractions without turning on the ones that would draw attention, such as any of the rollercoasters or the ferris wheel. This left us with bumper cars, some kind of centerfuge like ride, a video arcade, a concession stand, and several carnival style games. And for the first time in awhile, we had enough private space we could let most of our pokemon out without being detected, so we did.

This made the place pretty busy, we put Bubba and Bulby in charge of keeping track of everyone, as it was a big place. We also took the oppourtunity to introduce Zari to our respective teams.

"Ok, this is Bulby, he's my venusaur, this is Draco, my dragonair, and Cubey, my marrowak, and this is Cloudela, and um this is Mouser my bibarel." Phoebe said to Zari as she let all her pokemon out.

"He's evil. " I interjected, of course Phoebe was present so he didn't react.

"Cj, enough, he is not evil." Phoebe defended.

"Just return him before he escapes and blows our cover." I said, to which she just ignored me.

"Anyway, this is Nidoqueen, and Rapidash, and Polli, my politoed, you've already met Mr. Cinders, and that's everyone and everyone this is Zari." Phoebe finished. "Except for Buzzer, but he doesn't like the sunlight."

"And now it's your turn Cj." She insisted.

"Ok, this is Bubba, that's Rhyhorn, Rocky, Hellblade, Cap'n'Magnum, and that one is Blossom, and Aggron is too hurt to come out right now." I awkwardly said as I directed her attention towards my pokemon.

"Um ok."

"He's a blastoise, he's a rhyhorn, he's a golem, he's a houndoom, he is a magnezone, and she is a bellossom." Phoebe added.

"The plant thing is a girl?" Zari asked.

"Yes." Phoebe replied. "I don't know what the difference is either, but she is."

To put it simply, Oddishes are born when Female spores collide with Male spores from either a Vileplume or Bellosom, during a specific time of the year, like pretty much every plant, oddishes are independant from birth and do not need parents, but they do tend to congregate and socialize with their own kind.

"What about them, do they have any?" Zari asked as she pointed to Henry and Claire.

"Henry and Claire only have one pokemon each, and they're both not much stronger than Mr. Cinders." Phoebe explained.

"You want us to send ours out too? "Henry asked a few seconds later.

"Go ahead guys there's plenty of space here." Phoebe insisted.

And so they let their pokemon out too, their odd-looking starters from a parralel pokemon world, atleast from our perspective.

So now there was a pretty large group of pokemon out.

"Ok Bulby, Bubba, you're in charge of keeping everyone safe. Everyone else, don't wander off too far, and don't leave the park, and that goes double for you Mouser." Phoebe said, remembering the incident that occured a few years back.

"We're going to go over to the bumper cars for a little bit." She added.

"Do you think ours will be ok on their own? " Claire asked.

"Of course, they can play with Mr. Cinders, and the others should be able to look after them." Phoebe said to Claire's relief.

"Allright we done here? We got free bumper cars with no line, come on let's go! We don't have too much time." I said with some anxiety-fueled excitement.

So we played with the bumper cars for awhile, until we got bored with that so we migrated over to something else. As our pokemon were running around and enjoying the park themselves.

Bubba somehow found his way into the lagoon for a inoperative log flume ride, we didn't turn it on, because much like the roller coaster, it was just too visible from outside the perimeter fence, Henry's Totodile and Polli quickly joined him, and all three of them soon felt right at home in the warm, somewhat murky water. While Bulby was watching the others elsewhere.

After we left the bumper cars, we headed over to the funhouse.

"Where'd everybody go?" Claire asked.

"Some might be inside the funhouse, Bulby is out here and I doubt he'd let them out of his sight for long." I replied.

"Bulby, Nidoqueen, where's everyone else?" Phoebe asked.

"Venussssaur vennnus." Bulby replied.

"You don't know? Bulby you were supposed to keep track of them." Phoebe scolded.

"Venusaur, saur venuss, venussaur veenussaur saurr venuss." The pokemon replied.

"Don't joke about things like that." Phoebe replied.

"Venusaurrr venus." The pokemon replied.

"He says some of them went into the funhouse." Phoebe translated.

"Well, we were already going there." I replied.

"Are you ever afraid that they'll get lost or run away?" Henry asked.

"With Phoebe's powers it wouldn't take long to find them and besides, they all need some time to play around, battles aren't everything after all." I replied.

"They won't run away. We're their friends." Phoebe added.

"What about mine?" Henry asked. "He's run away before."

"As long as one of the others is watching him, he should be fine." Phoebe replied as we walked through the funhouse entrance, sure enough some of our pokemon were inside.

Claire's Chikorita, Draco, and Cubey seemed to be both amused and perplexed by an array of trick mirrors that were setup in the first room.

"Where's all the games?" Zari asked.

"What? " Asked everyone in return.

"It's a funhouse, but there's no games, just these mirrors." Zari explained. "Maybe they're in the other room?

"That's not what a funhouse is, that's more of an arcade." I replied. "A funhouse is like a place that's full of optical illusions and things, how do you not know this?" I explained.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"Well, just follow along and see." I replied.

"This could be fun. " Phoebe commented as we headed into the next room.

"Come on Chikorita let's go!" Claire said as she seized her pokemon.

"Chika chiko!" It chirped in surprise at being picked up so suddenly.

The next room was a darkly illuminated maze, with a few cheep jumpscares thrown in for good measure and some strang odds and ends on display like pig fetuses and eyeballs, taxidermied mutant creatures, a graveyard scene of all things, giant demonic looking skeletons, and lots and lots of creepy or spooky stuff. Occasionally there were scary sound effects and scary-looking animatronic characters would pop out from a secret hatch in the wall or something. At somepoint in this room we lost Zari, who was ironically more jumpy than Claire was. Though because of the cheepness of jump scares, there were moments where we were all briefly terrified, but after twenty minutes of wandering around, things began to take a more sinister turn. It began to feel like this maze was larger than the actual building.

"Pheebles is this your doing?" I asked, though I wasn't really sure why she would do such a thing.

"No, but you sense it too?" She replied.

"So do I." Henry said.

"Mhm." Claire agreed.

"PREPARE TO DIE!" An axe-wielding animatronic said as it suddenly sprung out from the wall, at this point we were used to things like this happening.

"Where's Zari?" I asked.

"You think she escaped?" Henry asked.

"No she wouldn't have, she wasn't thinking about it at all." Phoebe replied.

"Well then where is she?" Claire asked.

"We're in a maze, she must have gotten lost. I don't know why, but I can't hear her either." Phoebe replied.

"Should we go look for her?" Henry asked.

"We'll just wait for her at the exit." I replied.

"Where is the exit Cj?" Phoebe asked.
"I don't know." I replied. "Maybe Golbat can help, should be dark enough for him in here." I said as I fished his pokeball out of my pocket. It had been awhile since I had an oppourtunity to let him out.

So I let him out and I let him observe his surroundings for a moment before I gave him any commands.

"Ok Golbat I just need you to fly above the walls of this maze and look for the exit." I said.

"Golbat, Goll, Gollbat." He said before taking to the air.

He flew around for a bit before returning.

"Golbat gol." He said.

"What do you mean you don't see an exit? Phoebe replied.

"Golbat, baaat, golll baat gooool." He apparently explained.

"He says we're surrounded by darkness." Phoebe translated.

"So what is this place haunted or cursed or something?" I asked my beloved.

"I don't know." Phoebe replied.

"It would explained why it's abandoned." I said.

"You mean this place this is haunted, by ghosts?" Claire replied.

"It's possible." I replied. " They could very well be real in some worlds."

"In the pokemon world, there's ghost type pokemon that can do all sorts of mischeivous things." Phoebe explained. "Maybe this world has ghost-type humans."

"The pokemon world has humans too Pheebles." I replied.

"I know, but you know what I mean Cj, I mean ghosts that aren't pokemon." Phoebe replied.

"Maybe it's just part of the funhouse?" Claire asked.

"I doubt it at this point, I mean look at this corridor behind us, it's like twice the length of the building's exterior." I said.

"HAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH" A classical witch animatronic laughed maniacally as it popped out of the wall ahead of us.

"What if some of the pokemon are in here?" Henry asked.

"Then we're going to be in here all day trying to find them." I replied.

"Chiiikaaaa Chikaaa chikoooo." Claire's chikorita worringly chimed in.

"Don't get scared little one, it will be ok." Phoebe said.

"We've seen worse." I added.

"Mhm." Phoebe agreed.

"So if we're trapped in here by a ghost how do we get out? " Henry asked.

"I don't know." Phoebe quickly replied.

"We need to keep going through the maze, the ghost has to show up eventually." I added. "Or maybe it will only come out if we split up."

"Splitting up is litterally the worst thing we could do." Henry said. "We already lost Zari."

"It might be the only way to get the ghost to come out." I replied. "If nothing else we can get it off Zari's back for awhile. So everytime we pass a fork in the road somebody has to go the other way."

"I'm not sending my chikorita through here alone." Claire protested.

"You don't have to, just return it. The ghost doesn't understand our technology so it will probably be fine." I replied.

"I'm scared." Claire said. "I want to get out of here."

"We all want to." I replied. "This might be the only way we can, I don't know."

"What will happen once we draw it out?" Henry asked.

"Then we'll fight it." I replied.

"And how are we going to do that? " Henry asked.

"I don't know, but we'll find a way." I replied as I returned my golbat.

"Wait, before we start splitting up let's just keep going for a bit first and see if things change." Phoebe said. "It might get bored and confront us all at once."

"Or we could just start splitting now, and get out of here faster." I replied.

"Fine if you say so." Phoebe replied.

"Come on, let's get to it, everyone keep your wits about you and don't do anything you'll regret." I said.

If I had more of my pokemon on me I probably could have just broke through the walls, but aggron was barely conscious after falling off that building, and everyone else but Golbat was either somewhere else in the park, or possibly even lost in here somewhere. And it was the same way with Phoebe's pokemon. And neither Phoebe nor golbat were strong enough to break down the walls. So and we came across a series of forks in the hall, Henry split off first, then Claire, and then Phoebe wrapped her arms around me when we came to the final fork.

"Be safe, don't do anything stupid." She whispered before kissing me on the cheek.

"You going left or right?" I asked.

"Cj I'm serious." She said with a hint of concern.

I pulled her close and kissed her before saying: "We'll get through this ok? The rest of our team is counting on us, and possibly even some of our pokemon. I love you baby, now let's do this."

"Ooooh CJ." She sighed as I kissed her cheek before letting her go.

"See you soon." I said as I started to head down the right hand corridor.

"You better." She scolded as she headed towards the left.

And then we were both alone, but not really cause the open ceiling meant she could easily speak to me telepathically atleast for little while, but as I proceeded down the corridor, her voice in my head was strangely cut off. The corridor straightened out and went on that way for a long time. This corridor took on the appearence of a hallway of an old mansion with paintings hung on the wall every few feet or so, portraits of people whose names nobody knew anymore, if they were even real people to begin with. The lighting was bit better than the rest of the maze though. After atleast five minutes of walking down this corridor, which was also longer than the building was on the outside, an animatronic skeleton popped out and let out a maniacle laugh. It caught me off guard for a moment, but soon it retreated back into the floor and allowed me to continue.

"Would you just stop wasting our time and get this over with?" I called out into the darkness.

"If you have something to say, say it, don't just waste everyone's time." I commanded.

"Yoooooou caaaaan't escaaaaaape!" A headless-horseman like animatronic said in a cartoonishly spooky voice as it popped out of the wall a few feet ahead, leaving me to wonder if whatever was doing this was trying to speak through the animatronics. Especially considering it triggered when it was nowhere near me. Why were there even animatronics in this part of the maze anyway? We clearly weren't in a normal part of the building anymore. The real edge of the maze should have been about 200ft or so behind me. I moved a little bit further down the hall, only for the same animatronic to trigger again right in front of me, except this time it didn't say anything, it just retreated back into the wall with a bit of mechanical clattering. Moments after it retreated I noticed that somehow the hallway gained a more natural ceiling. Up to this point the natural ceiling of the building was higher than the walls of the maze, but now it was like I had left the maze and entered an entirely different building. I couldn't even go back, for only about twenty feet behind me there was a wall.

Eventually the hallway opened up into what appeared to be a lavishly equipped library, after some investigation, I discovered that all the books were real too, not just props like you would expect to find in a fun house/ haunted house, at least all the books I was tall enough to reach. There didn't seem to be an exit, just bookshelves as far as the eye could see. I wondered why anybody would ever have this many books and who could possibly have time to read them all. At this point I was thoroughly confused, so I just sat in a rather comfortable looking chair, and looked through the books to see if there was anything worth reading for awhile, eventually I picked one up that was supposedly about civil war era firearms, and I began to read, just kind of curious to see if anyone else would show up.

I didn't hear where everyone else went until much later, but somewhere else in this spacial anomaly of a amusement park attraction, Zari also found herself in a strange place that wasn't really supposed to be here, the hallway she had taken, which she mistook for the one we had gone down after being freightened and distracted by one of the animatronics, had led her to a cave, which then led to a very large, dark and gloomy looking graveyard illuminated only by moonlight, surrounded by an insurmountable wrought iron fence. Aside from many, many gravestones, some scary looking trees, an unnaturally large moon, and the fence, in the distance there was a large, menacing looking house, with amber lights in it's windows. The cave collapsed almost immediately after she had left it. So there was no obvious way back.

Henry ended up in some medieval-looking dungeon, the room was illuminated by torches, and there were rusty shackles chained to the wall and bits of humanoid skeletons scattered around.

Claire ended up walking through a hallway very similiar to mine, but instead of leading to the library, it led to a nursery that looked more like a Chuck-E-Cheeses. There was a giant ball pit, and a complex system of hamster tubes for kids to crawl through, a maze within a maze, within a maze, if you count the supposedly ordinary maze that was supposed to be in this building at some point before whatever the hell this was showed up. On one side of the room there were also shelves and shelves of dolls and toy cars along with both an incredibly elaborate race track, complete with a trainset, and a huge city of plastic interlocking bricks, along side a very detailed, custom-made dollhouse that resembled the one Zari could see from the graveyard. Basically the whole room was a kid's paradise, but there were no kids.

And finally Phoebe ended up in an unidentifiable room that was completely lined with mirrors. For the first time in a long time she was completely confused as her powers could not help her at all here. And she tried to teleport out, there was no telling where she would end up, considering these rooms bent the laws of space time to begin with.

I'm not sure how we did it, but we came across a spacial anomaly completely by accident. Was this random, or was there some mysterious creature in control of this place? This was way up there, among the most bizarre things we've ever seen, and it was just getting started.

So now we were all in our own prisons of sorts, in Henry's case litterally.

And we explored our new environments for some time.

While I sat there reading a book, Zari gravitated towards a rather large mausoleum in the heart of the graveyard, occasionally taking a moment to read epitaphs off the various tombstones, though none of them had any real meaning to her. They all seemed to belong to random people she didn't even know. Some graves were open, and others were empty, others were as they should be, but there didn't seem to be any rhyme or reason to it.

Meanwhile, Claire decided to place one of the toy cars on the race track just to see what would happen, it simply went down the track until it hit one of the power boosters which wasn't turned on. Phoebe was completely confused by her surroundings and didn't really know what to do.

Outside this strange place, unaffected by this illusion, HellBlade (my houndoom) finished exploring the funhouse, as he had entered it sometime when we were on the bumper cars, and he was extremely underwhelmed, he didn't see anything other then what it was supposed to be, an ordinary funhouse, and he didn't find the cheap jumpscares amusing one bit, he also found the maze to be a bit annoying. After taking a moment to express his dissapointment to Bulby, who was basically sunbathing and waiting patiently outside, he found a nice bench to lay down on so he could sleep for awhile.

It turned out that Henry would be the first of us to witness the horrors of what this strange place was truly capable of and its sinister intentions. Without really any other direction to go, he procceeded through the corridor of the dungeon until he came across a cell that was litterally packed full of people, people from his past, before he met Claire, before he met Phoebe and I, some even before Silverwind wiped out most of his world's population. Now, in his world, all of these people perished during Silverwind or the anarchy that ensued during its aftermath, but yet here they were, with nothing but a cell door between him and them, yet he had no key. They were people that he felt he had let down, people he couldn't save. His own parents, his father who was killed by silverwind, and his mother, who, though she was immune, was raped and killed just days after, before he could even meet up with her. His fellow soldiers, who he was trained with, who he trained against, and who he helped and recieved help from throughout their training. Only to helplessly watch them die by the hands of Silverwind, or turn against him in the aftermath, when he stood against the enslavement of others, against them, and the town that used to be civil. And finally, the pretty blonde bartender he almost had a relationship with, had silverwind not taken her away. To be fair, he hadn't thought of them much recently, but now that they were here, all the painful memories came back at once. It hit hard and fast and nearly brought him to his knees in tears. Until he got it in his mind that all would be forgiven, if he could only find the key to release them from their overcrowded cell. So he regained his composure and went to search for one.

Zari made it to the mausoleum, which was surprisingly unlocked, inside was quite a strange, if not ghastly sight, it looked like a courtroom with many, many rows of benches and seated in them were many skeletal and zombified figures, except these weren't props or animatronics, they looked real, and they weren't happy.

"87654-C6-3-00986" The zombified figure of a judge said in a hoarse, guttural tone. "Take a seat, your trial begins now."

"Trial?" She asked.

"Yes." The figure clarified.

"What am I on trial for? " She asked.

"Perhaps the better question is what are you not on trial for?" The judge replied. "Now take a seat 87654-C6-3-00986, justice must be swift."

"Now let's begin with the basics shall we? " The judge gave an absolutely disgusting grin. "For the crimes of interdimensional tresspassing, repeated unauthorized use of a portal, and failure to report the existence of a portal, knowingly cooperating with known enemies of the space police, prosecutors, show your evidence." A zombified version of her local police chief, 87654-C6-3-00001, Chief Lawrenthal Metalverker, a man who was still very much alive in reality, and whom she respected and looked up to, as well as the man responsible for her promotion, approached the stand. The zombified chief presented what basically consisted of a dvd with and unbelievable amount of footage, some of which blatantly shouldn't even exist, as in everything depicted happened, but nobody was recording it. It started out with footage of our more friendly conversations with Zari, and of us entering various worlds through the nexus, as authentic as it possibly could be for something that shouldn't exist. Completely leaving out the part where we basically kidnapped her. Also included was footage of events that Zari didn't even see and couldn't have possibly known about, such as when Phoebe and I raided the Space police HQ to free Henry and Claire while she was unconsious. Or that time we stole another chief's DeLorean sedan on a completely different world. There was also some footage of Aggron throwing her fellow officers off a building, from his most recent fight, as well as our raid on the space police's secret arms convoy on the request of Yuri who was with the resistance, though the footage did not show them at all. In addition, there were also bits and pieces of our raids on other space police HQ's in case the fact that we were enemies of the space police wasn't made clear enough at this point. Without any way to defend herself, she was quickly found guilty of all these things, but instead of delivering a final sentence, the ghoul of a judge merely moved on to the next set of charges.

"Now that the preliminary charges are out of the way, we begin the next round, this time the charges are leaving a fellow officer to die at the hands of an ungodly abomination."

Zari thought about what the demonic judge meant for a moment, only to burst into tears when the next witness stood up.

"Presenting the victim of the accused." A zombie prosecutor said. "87434-C5-2-00487"

This may come as a surprise to some, but the space police don't just go after innocent travelers who cross dimensions. Much like the unidentified being that was behind all this madness, there were other things from other universes that were un-human, un-friendly, and just, not very nice.

A few years ago, before Charley was even born, and shortly after she completed her training at the academy where she was raised, Zari had a partner, they were basically sisters, until one of these ungodly abominations showed up and started slaughtering people, it could best be described as having the appearence of a robed figure with many, many tentacles for legs. Tentacles that could rip people apart with ease. This was in a world where the space police had complete control, so they were also the only police, as well as the military, but by the time they got there, it was already a bloodbath. Nothing seemed to work against the damned thing, bullets wouldn't hurt it and the bubble guns couldn't even capture it, it would just slide out the goo like it was jello and continue to kill indescriminantly. City blocks were evacuated. Heavier armaments were brought in and a young Zari and her partner Kershena (87434-C5-2-00487) were deployed on their first major mission. At this time Zari's number was 87434-C5-2-00486, as she was working in a different dimension. It is typical for young recruits to be employed in worlds that are more thoroughly controlled by the space police, then after a few years of service are they are transferred to less controlled, and thus more dangerous worlds typically inhabited by their own races. Because the population on these worlds are used to and fully aware of the presence of the space police, they're used to seeing aliens and other strange things, so it didn't really matter if the officers were of the same race as the world's inhabitants or not. Something that is a bit more important in worlds that aren't fully controlled, as it allows the officers to blend in and be a bit more secretive.

Anyway, it was not a good day for Zari, in fact, it was possibly one of the worst days of her life.

Riding inside an apc, they were on their way to the established quarantine zone to do battle with the monster, their apc was part of a convoy of 6, all filled with space police officers toting the best armament and armor they had at their disposal. Not a single one would make it through the day.

After less than two hours they were all on their side, burning, and only about half of their passengers, including Zari and her partner managed to escape. In the chaos, the unit was separated with the surviving officers scattered among different buildings. Zari was now in a group of just five including her partner and 3 others she didn't really know, out of what started out as 60. They were running ahead and trying to flank the creature, carrying some experimental beam guns that weighed atleast 50lbs each. They were extremely unwieldy, but they were the most powerful weapons the space police had in their aresenal at the time, able to project a 6 inch in diameter beam of solid light that could even melt through solid tungsten, but the creature saw them crossing an intersection and immediately targetted them. Before he could even think to react, one man was reduced to a splat along the side of a nearby building. Another turned around and fired the beam weapon, which managed to sever one of the beast's tentacles, then another, and other, but this enraged the beast and for everyone that was severed 3 more came around the corner until the man was overwelmed and the beam gun's battery started to go. This man was ripped limb from limb, as Zari, Kershena, and one more officer managed to escape just a little further.

The unknown officer was soon grabbed by the beast, which was now comming around the corner, he was pulled towards it and completely devoured by things best left unseen. The women headed through an alleyway, the tentacles of the beast followed. And both Kershena and Zari were stabbed in the back. They both fell to the ground in pain, but only one would get back up.

The beast thought it had killed them both so it turned it's attention to the remainder of their unit that was still hiding in buildings about a block away. It quickly became obvious to both of them that Kershena had the worst of it, Zari couldn't even think to say goodbye, she left her sister on the ground to bleed to death, got up, picked up one of the recently ownerless beam guns, and fired directly at the hooded mass of the beast. She held the trigger until the batteries gave out and the weapon stopped functioning. The beam burned straight through the beast, cut it into ribbons and killed it where it stood, while also doing a number on a nearby bulding. Half of which proceeded to fall on the monstrocity, as if being cut to ribbons wasn't enough. That was the day she was promoted to sergeant, the day she was transferred, and the day her number was changed to 87654-C6-3-00986, all while her partner was left bleeding out in an alleyway of a town she didn't even know the name of. It was never determined whether she could've been saved or not, but by the time Zari returned to the alley, she was already gone from blood loss, a problem that Zari was beginning to suffer from as well. She couldn't even cry, she was finding herself too weak to stand. However, unlike her partner, the rest of her unit were able to save her.

But now here she was approaching the bench, wounds still present, most of her skin rotting away, her face just intact enough to be recognizable to Zari, who soon had the misfortune of realizing who she was supposed to be.

"That's no, that's not her, you're dead." Zari vainly attempted to rationalize something that could not be.

"Hehahahehahehahhaha." The judge laughed with a sinister grin. " I don't know if you noticed this yet mam, but we're all dead here. Hehehehehahahaheheha."

A cacophony of laughter erupted from the skeletal audience as Kershena approached the front of the room. All of which returned to silence once the undead imposter sat down.

"Why did you leave me to die?" The skeletal fiend asked in a rough female voice that sounded just enough like Kershena's to freak Zari out even more.

"The others." She replied. "It was going to kill them next."

"They could have helped themselves." The fiend insisted.

"Sister, there was nothing I could." Zari attempted to defend herself, only to be interupted.

"WE ARE NOT SISTERS!" The fiend violently interupted. "YOU LEFT ME TO DIE."

"I used to be beautiful Zari, YOU DID THIS TO ME!"

"Yes but." Zari tried to defend.

"I REST MY CASE." The fiend interupted again.

"I didn't kill you, the monster did." Zari argued. "Even so, there was nothing I could do!'

"You could have stayed beside me, we could have died together." The fiend replied.

"Then the others would die too." Zari replied.

"So? We didn't know them." The fiend replied.

"You're right. " Zari said. "You're not my sister. She would never say these things."

"Do you have any evidence to prove that she is not in fact your sister? " The judge asked.

"Um no, but how would I?" Zari asked.

"That's not my job." The judge replied with a smile.

"Anybody have any evidence to prove that this is not in fact her sister?" The judge asked.

Obviously nobody answered, as all of these ghastly characters were under the control of the same being. The judge only asked the question to rub it in.

And so she was found guilty again. The trial went on for quite awhile, until finally her sentence was given, after she was judged for every thing little sin she ever commited even as a child, and she was forced into an open coffin, and sealed alive within the mausoleum, left to her own thoughts in total darkness, with nothing but the souless voice of her deceased partner for comfort. Acusing her over and over again while the ceiling of her coffin began to show scenes of her various sins.

Meanwhile, with little else to do, Claire lost herself in a land of toys, nostalgia overwhelmed her when she found that there were so many toys here that she recognized from her childhood, and there was nobody around to tell her not to play with them. That, and there really wasn't much else to do in this room besides play with the toys, at least for the moment, so she played and played, and began to feel like a child again, unaware of how true that was becoming, until she realized she was suddenly small enough to crawl around in the hamster tubes, something she couldn't do before. That was when she realized what was happening, she was the size of a child now, thanks to the strange magic in the room, but her concern about what was happening vanished when she spotted a certain doll on the shelf. Not just any doll of course, but one that, as a child, had caused her a lot of grief. It happened when she was about 6 or 7, her parent were taking her along on a weekly trip to the store, at this point she had seen the doll in the window on many prior visits, every time she would ask for it, and every time they would say no, not because it was an expensive doll or anything, but because they felt she had enough toys, she was of school age now, and they, as in mostly her father, felt she needed to turn her attention away from toys and towards academics, but this day would be different from the others. In fact, she didn't ask this time as they passed the window, she had plans to get the doll without them even knowing. Her plan was simple, as she was only seven, she decide the best thing to do would be to sneak the doll along with it's box and accessories into the cart under some towels her family happened to be buying that day. And it worked, she managed to slip it in without them noticing. Atleast until they got to the checkout and the towels were removed from the cart and the stowaway doll was quickly discovered. The store didn't really care, but her father did not take kindly to this at all, and she was punished severely to the point where her mother stepped in to defend her. Some other factors were in play that Claire wasn't aware of at the time, but this basically led to her parents getting divorced by the end of the year, and she spent the rest of her childhood without a father, with her mother having numerous, and usually awkward relationships with many other men but never remarrying. But her mother was a caring person, so despite these difficulties, she followed in her mother's footsteps and becoming a teacher, but she always felt like she was responsible for her parent's divorce, and it all revolved around this one doll. She picked it up off the shelf and looked into its porcelain eyes as the painful memories came flooding to her. Of everything her father did to her, both the good, and the bad, of the day he left, never to return, of the broken-hearted tears of her mother.

"It's all your fault." The doll said in the voice of a young girl without moving its mouth.

"He left because of you."

"Shut up, he did not." Claire replied in the voice of the child she now was." He was a bad person, that's why mommy kicked him out."

"LIAR!" The doll replied.

Meanwhile, Phoebe was getting very distressed by the endless hall of mirrors combined with the loneliness. I never knew that was all it would take to drive her crazy. She began to see things in the mirrors, though she couldn't tell if it was because of the being that lived in this place, or because her own mind was starting to slip. She even tried to destroy the mirrors with her powers, but they proved to be indestructible.

"STOP PLAYING AROUND, COME OUT ALREADY!" She yelled. "I'm the nice one, if my husband finds you you're toast."

"Oh really? You mean the same husband that's having intercourse with the human girl?" A mysterious voice replied from nowhere, it seemed to be everywhere at once.

Because of the way this universe was, Zari was the only one of us this being considered completely human.

"Cj would never do that without me you liar!" Phoebe replied.

"Are you sure, I mean this is intercourse correct?" The being said as the carnal scene appeared on every mirror complete with disembodied sound effects.

"That's not really happening." Phoebe replied. "You created this . . . um . . . prison, you can do that just as easilly can't you?"

"Yes, but I could also show you what your husband is actually doing right now." The voice replied.

"But why you tell the truth? You're evil. You'd only do that if it was convenient for you." Phoebe replied.

"Ok then how about this?" The scene displayed on the mirrors suddenly change to an image of Charley.

"Charley?" Phoebe asked.

"He died just minutes after you left you know?" The being said. "He cried for you, to the very end he thought you would save him." The image of Charley burst into tears.

"How do you even know that? " Phoebe asked. "Why are you even trying to hurt me? That's all you're doing isn't it? Just saying and showing me whatever you can to try to hurt me."

"God dammit Pheebles I really wish you would just leave me alone sometimes, I mean there's clingy and then there's . . . wha - whatever the fuck you are. " A forgery of my voice played.

"That is not Cj! He never said that!" Phoebe replied.

The wicked being just continued to taunt her, either by portraying me, Charley, Nina, her parents, or even her brother doing things they never did, saying things they never said, or showing great acts of violence happening to any one of us. Phoebe didn't even remember half of the horrible things she heard or saw, she didn't want to, but it went on and on while the room around her got smaller and smaller until she was put in a small box with four mirrors on all sides, each one bombarding her with lies, in an attempt to probe her for insecurities. Because of her powers, she was more difficult for the being to read, so it resorted to more of a brute-force approach hoping something would stick.

But Phoebe was strong. After a while she was more annoyed by the simple fact that it wouldn't shut up, rather than being hurt by what it had to say. We all had a hard time believing this when she told us, it was either she had no regrets, or what ones that were brought up hurt her to the point where she didn't want to talk about it ever. It was only later that night when she told me that it eventually got smart and found out she was deeply afaid of wild bug and dark type pokemon, so out came the ravenous mightyenas and fat, disgustingly mutated ariadoses, which are not actually that terrifying in reality, but these illusions had their features crossed with normal spiders and had 8 eyes and freaky looking faces, with the mightyenas looking just as hellish in their own way. They didn't attack her outright but at one point she said she was covered in hundreds of tiny nightmarish spiders and the mightyenas wouldn't stop barking and charging at her sometimes they would chase her but she was always just fast enough to avoid being caught. She also told me she didn't want to say any of this at first because she was ashamed that she was afraid of something so trivial. I told her it was allright, this monster did it's best to get to everybody.

Meanwhile, Henry was reduced to digging through the piles of bones and undescribable filth that littered the floor of an empty dungeon cell in a desperate attempt to find a key to free the people that he felt he had let down in the past from their overcrowded cell, after leaving pretty much no stone unturned he managed to find a rusty key, which he then seized and returned to the overcrowded cell only to see that it was now littered with corpses. He put the key in the lock, and it allowed him into the room, but he quickly realized he made a big mistake as the door slammed shut behind him and the corpses began to animate.

"You were too late." They whispered in dry, decrepit voices, as they struggled to stand in an extremely unnerving fashion. Their faces deteriorated to a point where Henry could still tell who they were supposed to be, but just barely, their eyes were replaced with pitch black holes and they all stared at him contemptuously

Henry bolted for the door, but it was no use, it was locked tight and he no longer had the key. The undead fiends surrounded him and continued to chastise him about things he should have done. However, as he turned around, he saw that the cell had suddenly expanded into yet another corridor, allowing him to run passed these monsters into a new hell, on all sides of the corridor were scenes depicting the horrors of war, as if the walls were just really big tvs, the things that are too gruesome to describe, or to appear in film, despicable acts the military he worked for had committed but never revealed publically. Things that Henry may not have even been involved with or even knew about, things that could have been pulled from other people's memories or even movies. Occasionally interspersed with scenes from Henry's own life, before silver wind, especially times where he wished he could have done things differently.

Meanwhile, I was doing some reading of my own, the book I had picked started out like you would expect a book about civil war weapons to start, for the first few pages or so it seemed completely legit, but it subtly and masterfully began to change to something that had nothing to do with the title at all. Before I realized it, the book was talking about our future, particularly a one where everything went terribly wrong. The transition was so subtle that I missed it, and it was so masterfully written that by the time the transition was complete, I had forgotten what the book was originally supposed to be about. That said, it didn't keep me from putting it down when I realized it was trying to get to me, and once my eyes glanced over the shelves one again, I realized that every single book had been changed. From what I could tell, every single one was now a volumized collection of our lives up that point, color coded for our convenience. There was a blue series for me, a green series for Phoebe, yellow for Claire, brown for Henry, and red for Zari, there were even series for Jack and crew and other people that weren't even here, there seemed to be at least one book to cover each and every person I ever knew, even people I knew from high school prior to the disaster. I didn't have near enough time to verify the entire collection, but what really caught my eye was one single large, ancient looking book on display, where most libraries would have some old, expensive bible, or other valuable text.

Obviously I didn't have near enough time to validate this entire collection, to whether it only knew what I knew about people or something more. Such information can be faked, however, without any other source to verify it, all the entity in control of this place would have to do is suggest seemingly plausible information about somebody. Like for instance, the birthdays of people I knew from my highschool class, if I don't know them, it could pretty much suggest any date that falls within a year or so of mine and I wouldn't really be able to disprove it. All it really has to do is fill in the blanks with plausible information and include a few memories that I knew about them that I can verify.

Anyway, the book on display, is one that happened to be about the controlling entity of this place. I don't know how much of it was true or not, but it started out by saying that it was born thousands if not millions of years ago, ( the book wasn't really sure) in a world it referred to as world 1. It was a member of an advanced race that had technology that would put the pokemon world to shame. Technology I didn't understand so I really couldn't say much about it aside from throwing up some giant words like micro-biological-cellular- fusion, magnetomical condensation, and other scientific concepts that the majority of humanity had yet to discover . Unfortunately this book wasn't about these things, so it basically just referenced them to give an idea of how advanced the civilization was and moved on. The entity at this point had a corporeal form like the rest of it's species and everything was fine until it reached the age of 300, ( I had to skip several pages of unneccesary information, like it's childhood, it's first crush, etc etc etc. When it was 300 an experiment went awry and separated it from its body, which has since deteriorated into nothing. From then on, the entity was essentially a free spirit, after trying invain to reverse the process as it's physical body started to deteriorate, it then began to act more like a normal ghost and haunted it's place of death for some time, as it began to develop a stronger grasp on its abilities. After that place was torn down, it wondered its own world for a few centuries, eventually witnessing the destruction of its entire world through means outside of its control, at that point is was barely any different from a regular ghost. So it wandered through space for an incredibly long time until it found another habitable planet, world 2. From there it took over, and spent centuries being worshipped as a god, this angered the actual, god-level creator of the planet, resulting in a war that nearly destroyed it as well, and resulted in the entity's defeat and banishment. So it was left to wander again.

An undisclosed amount of time later, it came across an advanced race that had developed space-faring vessels of their own. It was by observing them that the entity first gained it's ability to bend space, after being caught in a hyperspace rift generated by one of the vessels, it was there for another undisclosed length of time, before it learned how to escape, after exploring space a bit more over another undisclosed period of time, it became able to teleport between several worlds almost instantaneously. Over the next few millenia, it learned how to use it's power to bend space at a level of proficiency that it was almost a god in it's own right, the only exception being it can't truly create ex-nihilo, out of nothing.

Anyway, it seemed that we were all screwed with no obvious means of escape, until HellBlade woke up from his nap. Exactly what transpired will only be known to our pokemon, but the basics are Bulby was still nearby so he went to talk to him, only for Bulby to express concern that we still hadn't left the funhouse. So HellBlade went back inside to see what was going on, his dark typing making him naturally immune to any kind of illusion, an immunity not even Phoebe possessed. Combined with the fact that earlier the entity assumed he was just a normal dog and didn't bother with him anyway. He found all of us unconcious in different parts of the maze, appearing to be awake but not acknowledging his presense, flailing around on the ground, and mumbling incoherently. Feeling that this place was having some weird effect on us, he headed back outside to get Bulby's assistance in getting us out of there. The entity, which turned out to not be nearly as powerful as it claimed to be, realized his illusions wouldn't work on HellBlade, so it was forced to confront him. This turned out to be a mistake, because Hellblade could see it quite clearly. He set Bulby's vines beside me, which he had been guiding through the building, then he confronted the creature, as Bulby's vines wrapped around me and began to drag me out of the building.

Meanwhile, still in the illusion Zari was still alone in the dark, Phoebe was still being tormented, Henry was running through what could best be described as a tunnel of hell, Claire was in tears, as an army of identical dolls surrounded her and continued to chastise her and I suddenly felt like I couldn't breath, at some point the room started to shift, and the hallway opened up once more, so I headed back through it, seeing an escape and I just started to run, and for a moment it felt like something very real and indescribably horrible was chasing me, but then everything faded and before I knew it I was awake on the ground outside of the funhouse.

"What the? " I exclaimed in a state of total confusion.

"Venusaur!" Bulby declared.

"What the hell is going on and where are the others? "I asked.

"Venuss venusaur." He replied.

"Oh right, I still can't understand you." I replied, really wishing I could.

While I sat there trying to wrap my head around what just happened, Bulby rescued Phoebe from the building.

She was writhing around violently like she was having a nightmare.

"It's not true, none of it's true." She murmured.

I went up and wrapped my arms around her.

"Wake up!" I said. "Please?"

Eventually she stopped wiggling around and cracked her eyes open.

"Cj? Is it really you?" She weakly asked.

"Yes, why what did you see?" I asked.

"Everything, it was terrible." She replied.

"Did you beat it? " She asked.

"No, I still don't even know what "it" is." I replied. "Bulby pulled us out of the building."

"Thankyou Bulby." She said.

"Yeah thanks, we owe you one." I added.

"Venus, venusaurrrr venusaurrr saurr venusaurrr." Bulby replied.

"He says someone else is helping him." Phoebe translated.

"Another one of our pokemon probably." I said.

"VENUS!" Bulby suddenly yelped in pain as he quickly retracted his vines, he retracted them as fast as he could, it seemed something had cut them up quite badly, but it was nothing potions couldn't heal.

"This is bad, Claire, Henry, and Zari are still in there." I said.

"NICE TRY BUT NOBODY ESCAPES ALIVE!" a deep, rumbling voice came from within the funhouse as a thick, black smoke began to erupt from every side of the building.

"That's him!" Phoebe whimpered, recognizing the voice from her nightmare.

"Venusaur?" Bulby exclaimed in confusion.

"Come on Bulby return, maybe you'll be safer in your ball." Phoebe said as she returned him.

"Take my hand baby girl, maybe if we stay together we'll end up in the same place." I said.

"Maybe." She agreed as she took my hand only to teleport us both away from the funhouse before the smoke enveloped us completely.

"But why should we go back to that place at all?" Phoebe asked.

"We need to rescue our friends." I said. "I can't believe I'm the one saying that."

"I know, but if it takes us back to that place we'll be useless." She replied. "I don't know about you, but I don't want to go back."

"You gonna tell me what you saw?" I asked.

"Maybe later." She hesitantly replied. "Let's save the others first."

"Ok." I replied, though we were both unsure how to do that, the smoke completely covered the funhouse now and was spreading quickly, even against the wind.

"Dooooooooooom!" HellBlade called as he ran towards us at blistering speed.

"HellBlade?! What are you doing?" I asked.

"He came out of the must have been the one helping Bulby to save us." Phoebe said.

"Oh, hehehe, good boy." I commended him. "Now we just have to save the others somehow."

"We're too far away for Bulby's vines to reach and that smoke is spreading." Phoebe replied.

"And Bulby isn't going to be immune to the illusions is he?" I asked.

"Nope. "Phoebe replied.

"Did you try shadowball?" I asked.

"No, but I will now." She said as she began to generate a shadow ball.

She hurled it into the cloud of smoke, and it pushed the smoke out of it's way a bit, but otherwise it didn't seem to do anything at all.

"It's not going to work." Phoebe said a few seconds later.

"Nope." I agreed.

"I have one more idea though."
"What? " She asked.

"What if we round up our pokemon and go into the illusion with them?"

"I don't know." Phoebe said. "What if they just get sucked into their own illusion?"

"Within the illusion?" I replied.

"Yeah. " Phoebe replied.

"That gives me another idea." I declared.

"What now?"

"Well just listen." I said.

- a few minutes later after rounding up all our pokemon from around the park, aside from Claire's and Henry's who were put under HellBlades's watchful eye, away from the smoke.-

Then we got a little creative and headed into the smoke hand in hand, everything went black for a moment, but when the smoke cleared both Phoebe and I were in the library together.

"Oh thank arceus, it's a different place from before." Phoebe said.

"Well this is the same place I was before." I replied.

"You got lucky." Phoebe replied before asking "So where's the monster?"

"I don't know, there wasn't anything in here last time but all these books." I replied.

"Hey they have books about me in here." Phoebe said as she noticed her name on a series of books.

"Yep, they have books about everyone I know here, I think, not sure how complete they are though."

"Hmm I wonder what is says? " Phoebe said as she took the first book of her set off the shelf and opened.

"It says I am very beautiful, and that . . . . . oooohh Cj." She said in a way that implied she had read something extremely naughty.

"Don't look at me I didn't write it, it kind of, wrote itself." I replied.

"Yeah but it's probably based on your memories or something?" She cheekily replied.

"And don't read it either, it's evil." I said as I slapped the book out of her hands.

"Hey." She cutely protested. "That wasn't very nice."

"Back so soon?" A large black shadow seemed to say as it came out of one of the many bookshelves.

"And you're together this time, how nice." He said in a somewhat sarcastic tone. "Maybe I can find away to rip you apart hmmm?"

"ugggghhhh that voice." Phoebe shuddered. "Why won't you leave us alone?"

"Do you have any idea how hard it is to be this powerful? Everyone is just so weak by comparison." The entity began to elaborate.

"It's like if you were alone, and the only other beings in all of existence were just bunch of, umm, ants."

"You're not even twice our size." I argued.

"This isn't my real form." The being replied.

"We came back to rescue our friends." Phoebe interjected.

"You came back to surrender." The entity corrected. "Both of you are doomed and so are your friends, but don't worry too much, you still have plenty of time to live before the darkness consumes you."

"Oh really? Let's see what you got." I said as I clicked the button on the pokeball I was holding this whole time. The ball opened and out came Bubba, who was holding another pokeball, the entity put him into his own illusion almost immediately, where he once again clicked the button on the pokeball he was holding, releasing Rocky who was holding yet another pokeball, all the way up through Phoebe's pokemon, this meant draco was in an illusion, within Cubey's illusion, within Poli's illusion, within Bulby's illusion, within Mouser's illusion, within Blossom's illusion, within eh you get the idea, and this became so complicated that the entity got a headache and everything went blurry as all the illusions started to blend together into an incomprehensible and extremely confusing mess of garbage before completely collapsing, it was like we were seeing through everyone's eyes at once. For a few moments it looked like a real life representation of the glitch city glitch from pokemon yellow, before completely collapsing and returning to the regular ordinary appearence of the funhouse.

"I can't believe that worked." I said as we were in front of the funhouse once again.

"Come on, we have to get the others, we don't have much time." Phoebe said.

"Right." I replied.

"Ok listen up everyone, just head to the parking lot, go pick up HellBlade, totodile and chikorita at the log flume and just wait by the bus." I said to the massive group of all of our available pokemon that were now gathered before us. "Tell Hellblade to come back here and light his place up once we leave."

"Cj." Phoebe protested.

"That's the only way I think we can destroy this bastard." I replied. "Or atleast force him to a different world."

Our pokemon rushed to the log flume while we rushed into the funhouse and located our friends who were all extremely confused, Claire was in tears, Henry was visibly distressed, and Zari was just completely out of it. After we left the funhouse for the last time, I found HellBlade outside and gave him the signal to set the place aflame. It took awhile, but eventually the paint caught on fire and the wood started to burn, so I returned him and headed back to the bus as the smoke from the fire began to form into the outline of a giant demonic looking abomination. However, despite it's size, it became apparent that it couldn't move from that spot. In fact, all it was able to do was throw a nearby hot dog stand at us, which was slow and easy to dodge. It finally let out a dying scream as the fire consumed whatever it was in that building that it happened to be attached to, or maybe it was the building itself. To this day, we don't know what that thing was, but we hoped we would never come across it again. We pretty much had to drag our friends out of the funhouse all the way to the parking lot where we returned our pokemon, started up the bus, and left the park, never to return. Hoping Henry was still sane enough to follow us with his camaro. It was amazing that he didn't crash or was even pulled over on the way back, for the first few miles he was driving like a complete madman.

Anyway, it was way passed midnight when we got back to the train. We were late, due to the circumstances, fortunately our train was still waiting for us, but Jack was the only one awake at this point.

"We were beginin to think you weren't coming back." The sleepy locomotive said as we approached.

"I know we're late. But you don't even want to know what we just went through." Phoebe kindly replied.

"What happened?" He asked out of curiosity.

"Well, I guess we should all share what we saw right?" I asked. "We can't help each other if we don't."

"It seems like you got it easier than the rest of us." Henry commented.

"He did." Phoebe agreed. " I saw what he saw when we went back to save you, it looked like heaven compared to what I saw on my own."

"It's not like it's my fault it went easy on me for no apparent reason." I replied. "And aside from that, it didn't, you have no idea what the hell was in those books, they were evil."

"Yeah you're right. " Phoebe agreed. "You're the one that figured out how to break the illusion anyway. Without Cj you'd still be in there."

"Without HellBlade we'd all still be in there." I replied. "We need to get him a steak if we ever find a steak. Anyway what did you guys see?"

"Let's just get our stuff back on the train first, then we'll talk." Henry said.

"Right." I agreed.

Nobody could sleep that night aside from the crew who weren't there the see the nightmarish aberation, so, after we drove our vehicles back up onto the flatcars, figuring the crew would work on securing them tomorrow, (They had to recouple the cars to the rest of the train anyway.) We just sat around in a circle in the brake van and talked about what we saw, as the crew was sleeping in the coach and we didn't want to wake them. Phoebe was even more clingy then usual, not that I really minded it, as long as she behaved in front of our friends I was fine with her treating me like some kind of teddy bear or pillow. By the time the train was moving again the next morning, we were all extremely tired. Phoebe and I found sleep waiting for us just minutes after we got back to our bus.

This experience pretty much made us lose whatever sense of time we still had, we didn't know when we woke up, except that it was at some point later and the train was back together and moving.

"Cj?" Phoebe softly whispered. " Is it day three yet? "

"Fuck, I don't even know anymore." I tiredly whispered back. "Is Zari even here or is she in the brake van?"

"I was thinking it could just be you and me. I think Zari stayed in the van." Phoebe replied.

"Awwe baby girl." I said, very much in love. Both of us completely unaware Zari was actually sleeping on the floor just a few feet in front of our bed as Phoebe crawled on top of me and we started to make out. She didn't wake up until Phoebe and I were naked and holding eachother tight with every movement driven by pure lust.

"Ohh baby girl, I love you."

"Love you." She replied softly.

"Oh my gosh what the hell are you doing?" Zari said with a voice that pretty much froze us solid.

"Arceus, Z-Zari, you weren't s-supposed to be in here." Phoebe nervously replied.

"Well I can see that." She replied.

"Every single fucking time." I said out of annoyance.

"Well, I'll just go, you have fun making babies." She replied.

"Where are you going to go? The train is moving." Phoebe.

"Then I just, I won't watch then. Ok?" Zari replied.

"You want to join?" Phoebe asked.

"As an officer of the space police it's illegal for me to have babies or engage in baby-making." She replied.

"I'm sure Charley will like his new brother or sister." She said.

"We're not making babies we're just doing this for fun." Phoebe replied. "He can't even get me pregnant."

"Then how did, but you have kids." Zari pointed out the obvious.

"Nina is adopted and the only way we could have Charley is with drugs." Phoebe replied. "Now do you want to join us or not? Otherwise we'll just have to stop."

"I can't." Zari nervously replied as she kept her gaze out the front window of the bus.

"We done Pheebles?" I regretfully asked.

"We'll have to finish some other time." She sighed as she kissed me. Then she quickly got up and slipped on her dress.

"You can turn around you know? We stopped." Phoebe said as Zari kept herself locked facing the front of the bus.

"Zari? Are you ok? Hello?" Phoebe tried to get her attention.

"I think we broke her CJ." She joked after Zari continued to ignore her and stare out the front window.

"I need to think!" Zari suddenly announced in a state of distress as she had nowhere to go.

"I can take you to the coach if you want." Phoebe replied. "You don't have to if you don't want to, just relax."

"I'm just, that thing, it brought back some bad memories." Zari painfully replied.

"Well, why don't we make some good memories then to replace them?" Phoebe replied, still trying to get her to sleep with us.

"Can't we do something that won't possibly cost me my job?" Zari asked.

"Hehehehehe." I started to laugh as I got my pants back on.

"You're really going to go back to the space police if we come across them again?" I asked.

"Well, I, what else am I supposed to do?" She asked in return.

"I think that thing messed you up more than we realized." Phoebe commented. "Listen missy, like it or not, you're never going back. Even if we do come across them again, we won't let you."

"This got awkward really fast." I said. "Look you could just forget them and stay with us, it's not that hard."

"You've let them control you for your entire life, I know it's hard, but now you need to get used to being without them." Phoebe said as she wrapped her arms around her.

"And this would be a great first step." Phoebe softly continued. "And we'll both help you through it so don't worry."

"Ok fine, how do I start?" She asked.

"Come with me, I'll show you everything you need to know." Phoebe replied.

"About making babies?" She asked.

"No, about having sex." Phoebe replied. "Starting with the fact that it isn't always about making babies. Now come here, get your boots off and lay down next to my husband."

While Zari struggled to get her boots off, Phoebe got back in bed with me.

"You still hard from earlier?" She said quietly.

"Not really, but I can go again." I quietly replied while Zari approached the bed.

"Good cause you're getting both of us." She replied as I moved to let Zari squeeze in bed next to me, it was tight, but we all fit as I casually put my arms around both of them.

"Maybe she should be in the middle." Phoebe said. "We are sharing her aren't we?"

"Yeah, I guess so." I replied.

"So what do I do?" Zari asked.

"Well you come over here, and get in between us." Phoebe replied. "And then we'll undress you."

"I can undress myself." Zari replied.

"It's more fun if we undress you." Phoebe defended.

So we reoriented ourselves so Zari was in between us.

"So what should we take off first Cj?" My beloved asked.

"I don't know, what color do you think her nipples are?" I asked.

"I don't know." Phoebe replied. "Probably a darker red."

"Yeah, probably." I replied.

"Let's find out." Phoebe said as she started to remove Zari's vest.

"Yeah." I said as I began to help her.

"Mmm she's got a little black bra under here too." Phoebe replied once we had her vest off.

"Sexy." I replied.

"It's standard issue." Zoe replied. "Like the rest of my clothes."

"I wonder who determines what standard issue is?" I asked.

"The local chief and his superior." Zari replied.

"They might be a little bit on the pervy side." Phoebe replied.

"Well, I usually have my vest on, when working." Zari shyly replied.

"Mhm and the black nail polish?" Phoebe asked.

"Um, I was trying to look nice to get a promotion?" Zari said

"So you do have some free will?" Phoebe sarcastically asked.

"Well we do get payed a little bit." Zari replied.

"And what's with this scar?" Phoebe asked, which made me notice as well, she had kind of a circular scar on the right side of her stomach.

"It's from that monster I told you about, there's another on my back, it ran me straight through." Zari replied.

"I know they're ugly." Zari proclaimed.

"Ooooh don't be silly, it's just a tiny little mark." Phoebe replied.

"If you say so." Zari replied.

"Now let's get back to what we were doing." I said.

"Ok that feels weird. " Zari said as I slipped my hand under her bra, her tits weren't the biggest but they were firm and her nipples were perky.

"Like bad weird or?" Phoebe began to ask.

"No just weird." Zari replied. "It kind of tickles."

"What are you trying to feel what color her nipples are Cj? "Phoebe asked as I continued.

"No, I'm just feeling her nipples." I replied.

"Does that feel good now?" I said as I began to rub them gently, though it was hard to be as gentle as I wanted to be due to the tension of the bra.

"Mostly just weird." Zari replied.

"Well relax, you'll get used to it." Phoebe suggested. "Now come on, let's get that top off." She said as she reached around to unhook Zari's bra.

"Why don't you get yours out too?" I asked my beloved.

"I will just wait a moment." Phoebe said as she began to remove Zari's bra.

"Ooooh they are dark red." Phoebe said as Zari's nipples were exposed and she began to remove her own dress. And in the next moment I was greeted with the lovely sight of two pairs of amazing boobies.

"I wish I was still in the middle." I said as I oggled them both.

"I bet you do." Phoebe said as we both fondled Zari's boobs. "You'll get your wish later."

Anyway, it was a fun day, despite not much happening outside the train. We taught that young police woman everything we knew about love and by the end of the day she had gone from a virgin to an expert.
