Potter keep, dining room, September 4th, 1988

Harry is rapidly moved from the library to the dining area by the house elves. He is slightly upset by not getting to read any of the books in the library yet, but the chance for his first good meal in, well, his entire life excites him significantly more. He has not eaten particularly well within the forest, his malnourished state leaving him only capable of retrieving a small number of berries from plants, incapable of hunting or extended scavenging activities.

Even with the paintings constantly attempting to talk with him, something he ignores due to his starvation making getting something to eat a priority, it only takes a short time to make it to the dining room. Waiting for him already is a pair of house elves and a plate of small fruits, breads, and vegetables. One of the house elves smiles at Harry and says "we thought you would be very hungry so we quickly grabbed some small snacks that were under preservation charms, while the chefs prepare some real food." This excites Harry, and he immediately begins consuming a vast amount of the appetizers, his vast hunger overwhelming the etiquette beaten into him by the Dursleys.

Harry had to wait 90 minutes for the food to be prepared, but when it arrives, he was shocked. The colossal doors of the dining hall opened, revealing a dozen moving suits of armor, each carrying a tray in each hand, with multiple items on each. The house elf smiled again, and said "we did not know what you would prefer, so we created multiple meals for you to choose from." Spaghetti and meatballs, pizza, a full roasted chicken, seven different fish, 5 wyvern steaks cooked rare, medium rare, medium, medium well, and well done respectively, there was even a multitude of burgers laid in front of Harry. For drinks there were an equally bewildering number of options, three separate sodas, a glass of milk, a glass of water, several juices, and no less than five different types of tea. For side dishes french fries, mashed potatoes, several different salads, chips, and countless other items were put before Harry. Harry felt a twinge of for the food that was going to waste just for him, before putting it aside and digging into the fantastic meal.

Harry did not consume all of the food. Even though each individual entrée was significantly smaller than a normal portion, the sheer number of dishes prevented him from doing more than tasting them all.

After the meal, the house elves moved Harry to a colossal bedroom with a golden door about 4 times the size of the Dursley's living room, the room was covered with paintings and statues and ancient artifacts of countless different varieties. House elves tucked him into the king sized bed bed and told him to sleep. That night, Harry had the best sleep he has had in the last seven years.

Potter keep, Lord's Bedroom, September 4th, 1988

Harry awake from his peaceful slumber, relatively early in the morning. Contrary to what would be expected, Vernon was quite the morning person, usually waking up at seven, eating breakfast and lounging around until 8:20 when he had to leave for work. Because of this, Harry was expected to wake up before Vernon, and prepare breakfast for him, leading to him having a habit of waking up quite early in order to avoid punishment.

Harry begins to examine the room in more detail than he had the night before. Along the walls of the room there are countless items standing on their own , hanging on the wall, or sitting on pedestals. There there were plaques placed in front of each of the items.

Harry got out of bed and moved to observe the closest item, a white sword held behind what appeared to be glass. The plaque in front of the wand said sword of lornskin, commander of the goblin army during the third goblin rebellion.

As Harry went around the room , looking at all of the items on display he realized they all had some form of historical significance: a full suit of plate armor worn by King Arthur, a Gladius used by a Roman legionary, the robes worn by Merlin during the coronation of King Arthur, a full bronze age Mycenaean armor set, even several thousand lines of Sappho's poetry, which the muggles don't have. Enough artifacts we're in the room to fill a small museum.

After he was done, examining all of the artifacts, Harry decided to wander for a bit. He walked within the ancient halls of the keep for a long time until he eventually reached an exit. After Harry exited the keep, he was met with an absolutely beautiful garden, several acres in size. In the center of the garden a large pond filled with large fish stood with a white bridge crossing it.

Movement caught Harry's attention, in the corner of his eye he could see what looked like 3 miniature people in the garden, they looked quite ugly but they captivated Harry as they, like most of the things in the keep, were very strange compared to what he'd seen with the Dursley's. Nearby he saw a three headed snake, sneaking up on them.

Suddenly, the large three headed snake lunged at the small people looking things, grabbing one of the small people in each jaw. Harry wondered if he should be concerned that he didn't feel anything for the small people, no worry or fear for them when he saw the snake sneaking up on them, no fear or revulsion as he saw them desperately attempting to get out of the jaws of the snake, no sympathy, as they finally went limp and got consumed by the 2 m serpent. He did not even feel hate or revulsion for the serpent for taking a life that looked so much like a human that if he didn't know the scale, he'd barely know the difference. All he felt was curiosity about the scene before him.

"It is a Runespoor, a type of magical serpent, we sometimes let them into the garden instead of keeping them in their normal area due to their skill at killing pests." Henry was startled by the sound from behind him and turned to see Helena, flesh and bone instead of whatever she was the night before, wearing a light blue dress. Next to her were a pair of house elves, one of which was the one that followed Harry to the garden.

Harry turned back to the Runespoor and said "hello"

This shocked the snake, having never heard a Human speak the tongue of the serpent, and it's left head said "hello speaker, I have never seen you before, what are you doing here?"

"I ran away from my home and this place feals safe" Harry said.

Harry continues to converse with the three heads until Helena says "Harry, what are you doing?" Breaking him from his captivating and hypnotic conversation.

Hairy flinches, and turns in upon himself, as if believing, making himself smaller would make him less noticeable. Every time he has done something strange in front of another person, he has been severely punished. "please don't hurt me, it was an accident I swear!"

Helena's face loses the concern and confusion that was on it from Harry speaking with the snake, instead of replacing it with a soft smile and gentle features "I'm not gonna hurt you, why would you even think that?" She says soothingly.

"Every time I've done something odd in front of someone, Vernon would do something bad to me" Harry's voice was shaking with the.

'I'll make sure to grab those filthy Muggles and I put them in the dungeon for a couple years, I hope my crucio skills have not have not dulled while I was in my wraith form' Helena things to herself, upon looking again at Harry's shaking form, correct herself 'make that a couple decades, or centuries, there are a few ways to gain an extended life, the problems is that only a few of them are pleasant for the recipient'.

"i'm not gonna hurt you, someone who would do that is a very bad person and should be punished. Let me show you around the keep, o great grandson mine."

[I planned for Dumbledore to discover Harry's disappearance in the next scene, but I never finished the chapter. I might finish it at some point, but not for a long time.]
