I didn't actually have a outline for the original, which caused a lot of problems. So before I started the rewrite I began the creation of an outline. This is version one.
Chapter 1: first contact
Scene one December 31, 10:30 AM: introduction to humans, foreshadowing of problems with the ship
Scene 2 December 31 10:45 AM: turian flotilla in FTL
Scene 3c December 31 10:45 AM: humans notice flotilla as it exits FTL, panic,
Scene 4 December 31 10:45 AM: turians notice the humans, panic, debate as to whether this is first contact or not, attempted to send first contact package
Scene 5 December 31 10:45 AM: third person POV centered around troubled ship as attempt to turn to face the flotilla leads to explosions and its eventual destruction
Scene 6 December 31 10:45 AM: humans misinterpret explosion as attack, fire on the flotilla
Scene 7 December 31 10:45 AM: flotilla perspective on attack, combat commences, eventual human defeat, and retreat
Scene December 31 11:05 AM: retreat from human perspective
Chapter 2: attack
Scene 1 :turian cluster primarch and sector cluster command receives information about the confrontation and strategies
Scene 2: human ship arrive, have a short conversation with the commanding officer of the systems defense forces, then turians arrive
Chapter 3: beginning of the battle
Scene 1: turian perspective of the beginning of the fight against a Human forces until they are attacked by fighters
Scene 2: human reaction, and observation to the attack on the turians by their fighters and the remaining portions of the space fight
Scene 3: turian reaction to the humans fleeing through the relay, their reaction to the colony, and preparation for the invasion
Scene 4: STG spying and report on the events so far
Scene 5: Geth report and reaction to the events so far, including the STG report that they stole
Chapter 4: siege of Persephone
Scene one: governor of Persephone (aka Shanxi Eta, moon of Shanxi) has a
Discussion with chief government figures and military advisors
Scene 2: turian squad enters through a cut in section of the Persephone colonies docs, is killed by the gravity weaponized by the colony
Scene 3: turians discuss what to do about Persephone, decide to besiege it
Scene 4: the colonists of Persephone initiate a breakout attempt to get to the relay, they succeed after some losses
Scene five: the governor and the remaining colonists prepare for the siege
Chapter 5: resistance
Scene 1: turian in a shuttle gets killed on the way to a human city
Scene 2: operator of a Human artillery
piece that just shot down a turian shuttle
Scene 3: human militia member of a small town is killed by turians
Scene 4 turian attack on the human small town
Scene 5: turian attempt to head down tunnel to Persephone, everything is destroyed before it reaches the city
Chapter 6 : government reaction and the death of the Helena
Scene 1: meeting between all the department heads which make up the executive of the alliance
Scene 2: the admiral in charge of the fleet preparing to deal with the attack, thinking to herself about logistical requirements, and similar things
Scene 3: a civilian passenger ship enters the invaded system and is destroyed or severely damaged by the turians
Chapter 7: the leak and peaceful first contact
Scene one: a article about the first contact and the department heads' response to it
Scene 2: military ship mines a secondary relay connecting to the invaded system
Scene 3: the council learns about the first contact
Scene 4: Narn scout ship makes contact with a Human vessel
Chapter 8: battle of dowager rock
Scene 1: third person POV giving exposition about the colony, then it turns into turian general POV, then third person POV for the rest of the scene of the attack
Scene 2: turian soldier methodically entering the colony while destroying the artificial gravity systems, they figure out that the colony's standard areas do not have as a severe gravity systems and they can enter with less caution
Scene 3: more on first contact with the Narn
Chapter 9: battle of New Hong Kong
Scene 1: another attack convoy attempts to land, and when the alliance artillery is exposed by firing, a massive bombardment of flechettes from the cruisers in orbit destroy them, the landing continues unimpeded, but they enter far away from the city for fear of anti-air defenses
Scene 2: alliance soldier pov in new Hong Kong, exposition about the cities air defenses and the attack so far, spots turian forces, and Snipes at them
Scene 3: starts at third person POV of the
outer areas of the city where the turians were entering becomes a first person turian POV of urban warfare (very unpleasant)
Scene 4: militia meeting nearby in occupied town, exposition about turian occupation,
Scene 5: POV turian is attacked by militia forces while on guard duty
Chapter 10: losing battle and reinforcements
Scene 1: alliance forces have been forced to give up most of the city after a desperate struggle, POV of an alliance soldier
Scene 2: turian commanding officer POV observing the conflict on the bridge of a ship before being interrupted by a warning about relay activity
Scene 3: POV of a reconnaissance drone getting information about the turians in the system
Scene 4: second Fleet, exiting the relay after a group of fighters, force the turians to retreat, and begin sending ground forces down to the planet
Scene 5: POV of an alliance soldier, rescued by reinforcements from death by the turian's hands
Scene 6: plans for a counterattack are discussed
[The rest of the outline wasn't completed, basic plan was for an attack on a turian system until a council ship arrives and stops the conflict (3 or 4 chapters). Humans go to citadel and talk with the council until a treaty is created and then signed (2 or 3 chapters). Final scene is Sovereign POV and foreshadowing for the reaper invasion.]
